ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਤ੍ਰ ॥
ka-ee kot dayv daanav indar sir chhatar.
Many millions are the angles, demons and Indras, under their regal canopies.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ;
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਅਪਨੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
sagal samagree apnai soot Dhaarai.
He has subjected the entire creation to His command like beads strung in a thread.
(ਇਹਨਾਂ) ਸਾਰੇ (ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤਾਂ ਤੇ) ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ (ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ) ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥੩॥
naanak jis jis bhaavai tis tis nistaarai. ||3||
O’ Nanak, with whom He is pleased, He ferries them across the world-ocean of vices ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਰਾਜਸ ਤਾਮਸ ਸਾਤਕ ॥
ka-ee kot raajas taamas saatak.
Many millions abide in power, vice, and virtue. (three modes of Maya)
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਰਜੋ, ਤਮੋ ਤੇ ਸਤੋ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ,
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਸਤ ॥
ka-ee kot bayd puraan simrit ar saasat.
Many millions study the Vedas, Puranas, Smritis and Shastras (holy books).
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ (ਬੰਦੇ) ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ (ਦੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹਨ;
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਰਤਨ ਸਮੁਦ ॥
ka-ee kot kee-ay ratan samud.
God has created many millions of jewels in the oceans.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਰਤਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਨਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਜੰਤ ॥
ka-ee kot naanaa parkaar jant.
He has created millions of various types of creatures.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਚਿਰ ਜੀਵੇ ॥
ka-ee kot kee-ay chir jeevay.
Many millions are created who live long life.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਲੰਮੀਆਂ ਉਮਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ,
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਗਿਰੀ ਮੇਰ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਥੀਵੇ ॥
ka-ee kot giree mayr suvran theevay.
He created many millions of mountains of gold
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੇ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ;
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਖ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਪਿਸਾਚ ॥
ka-ee kot jakh-y kinnar pisaach.
Many millions are the Yakshas ( servants of the god of wealth), the Kinnars (dancers), and the Pisaach (people of lower social status).
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੱਖ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਸ਼ਾਚ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਸੂਕਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਾਚ ॥
ka-ee kot bhoot parayt sookar marigaach.
Many millions are the evil- natured spirits, ghosts, pigs and tigers.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਸੂਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਹਨl
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਨੇਰੈ ਸਭਹੂ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
sabh tay nayrai sabhhoo tay door.
He is near to all, and yet far away from all.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਭੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦੂਰ ਭੀ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੪॥
naanak aap alipat rahi-aa bharpoor. ||4||
O’ Nanak, He is both detached and also pervading in His creation.||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਭੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਕੇ ਵਾਸੀ ॥
ka-ee kot paataal kay vaasee.
Many millions inhabit the nether regions.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਨਰਕ ਸੁਰਗ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ॥
ka-ee kot narak surag nivaasee.
Many millions live in extreme pain and sorrow like being in hell and many millions live luxurious lives like being in heaven.
ਅਤੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਰਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਦੁਖੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਹਨ)
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਮਰਹਿ ॥
ka-ee kot janmeh jeeveh mareh.
Many millions are born, live their lives and die.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਫਿਰਹਿ ॥
ka-ee kot baho jonee fireh.
Many millions keep wandering through the cycles of birth and death.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਬੈਠਤ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿ ॥
ka-ee kot baithat hee khaahi.
Many millions earn their living effortlessly.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜ ਵਿਹਲੇ ਬਹਿ ਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਘਾਲਹਿ ਥਕਿ ਪਾਹਿ ॥
ka-ee kot ghaaleh thak paahi.
Many millions exhaust themselves trying to earn their living.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਥੱਕ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਧਨਵੰਤ ॥
ka-ee kot kee-ay Dhanvant.
While God has made many millions wealthy.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਧਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਚਿੰਤ ॥
ka-ee kot maa-i-aa meh chint.
Many millions stay in financial anxiety.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ (ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
jah jah bhaanaa tah tah raakhay.
Wherever He wills, there He keeps the mortals.
ਜਿਥੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਓਥੇ ਓਥੇ ਹੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਹਾਥੇ ॥੫॥
naanak sabh kichh parabh kai haathay. ||5||
O’ Nanak, everything is under God’s command. ||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਭਏ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥
ka-ee kot bha-ay bairaagee.
Many millions become detached from the worldly affairs,
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਵੈਰਾਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ l
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
raam naam sang tin liv laagee.
and remain attuned to God’s Name.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਖੋਜੰਤੇ ॥
ka-ee kot parabh ka-o khojantay.
Many millions are searching for God,
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਆਤਮ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਲਹੰਤੇ ॥
aatam meh paarbarahm lahantay.
and realize the presence of God within themselves.
ਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਹੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
ka-ee kot darsan parabh pi-aas.
Many millions yearn for the sight of God,
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ ॥
tin ka-o mili-o parabh abinaas.
and they realize the eternal God.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਸਤਸੰਗੁ ॥
ka-ee kot maageh satsang.
Many millions pray for the holy congregation,
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤਿਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
paarbarahm tin laagaa rang.
They are imbued with the love of the Supreme God.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ॥
jin ka-o ho-ay aap suparsan.
Those with whom He Himself is extremely pleased,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਧਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ॥੬॥
naanak tay jan sadaa Dhan Dhan. ||6||
O’ Nanak, they are blessed and blessed forever. ||6||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਖਾਣੀ ਅਰੁ ਖੰਡ ॥
ka-ee kot khaanee ar khand.
Many millions of creatures have been created through the four sources of creation, in the nine regions of the earth.
(ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੌ) ਖੰਡਾਂ (ਚਹੁੰਆਂ) ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ॥
ka-ee kot akaas barahmand.
There are many millions of creatures in the skies and in the solar systems
ਸਾਰੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਹਨ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਹੋਏ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
ka-ee kot ho-ay avtaar.
Many millions of creatures are being born.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ;
ਕਈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
ka-ee jugat keeno bisthaar.
In so many ways, God has created the universe.
ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ l
ਕਈ ਬਾਰ ਪਸਰਿਓ ਪਾਸਾਰ ॥
ka-ee baar pasri-o paasaar.
So many times, He has expanded His expansion (Creation).
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਕਈ ਵਾਰੀ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ l
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਇਕੁ ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ॥
sadaa sadaa ik aikankaar.
Yet forever and ever the Creator has been the same.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਕਸਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ॥
ka-ee kot keenay baho bhaat.
God has created many millions of creatures in various forms.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਤਿ ॥
parabh tay ho-ay parabh maahi samaat.
From God they emanate, and into God they merge back again.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
taa kaa ant na jaanai ko-ay.
The limits of His creation are not known to anyone.
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ;
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥
aapay aap naanak parabh so-ay. ||7||
O’ Nanak, God alone is the one who is like Himself. ||7||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ l
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ॥
ka-ee kot paarbarahm kay daas.
Many millions are the devotees of the Supreme God,
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ (ਭਗਤ) ਹਨ,
ਤਿਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਆਤਮ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥
tin hovat aatam pargaas.
within whom manifests the divine light
ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਤਤ ਕੇ ਬੇਤੇ ॥
ka-ee kot tat kay baytay.
Many millions know the essence of reality (God),
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਵ (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਅਸਲੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਰਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੇ ॥
sadaa nihaarahi ayko naytaray.
and with their eyes (spiritual vision), they always behold the One God.
ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹਿ ॥
ka-ee kot naam ras peeveh.
Many millions partake the nectar of Naam.
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਅਮਰ ਭਏ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਹਿ ॥
amar bha-ay sad sad hee jeeveh.
Becoming free of birth and death, they become immortal.
ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਊਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹਿ ॥
ka-ee kot naam gun gaavahi.
There are many millions who sing the virtues of God.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਆਤਮ ਰਸਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਹਿ ॥
aatam ras sukh sahj samaaveh.
They intuitively remain absorbed in peace and spiritual bliss.
ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਰੇ ॥
apunay jan ka-o saas saas samaaray.
God takes care of His devotees with their each and every breath.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਮ-ਬ-ਦਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਓਇ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੮॥੧੦॥
naanak o-ay parmaysur kay pi-aaray. ||8||10||
O’ Nanak, they are the beloveds of God. ||8||10||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਨ l

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
karan kaaran parabh ayk hai doosar naahee ko-ay.
God alone is the creator of the entire universe and there is no other.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ- ਕਾਰਣ ( ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਇਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
naanak tis balihaarnai jal thal mahee-al so-ay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, I dedicate myself to the One, who pervades the water, the earth and the sky.||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਥਲ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ l

Ashtapadee:
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਕਰਨੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
karan karaavan karnai jog.
God has the power to do and get everything done.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਭੀ ਹੈ,
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
jo tis bhaavai so-ee hog.
Whatever pleases Him, only that comes to pass.
ਓਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
khin meh thaap uthaapanhaaraa.
In an instant, He creates and destroys His creation.
ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਭੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
