ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੀਏ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
bharam bha-o kaat kee-ay nirvairay jee-o.
By removing my fears and doubts, the Guru has made me free of enmity.
ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
gur man kee aas pooraa-ee jee-o. ||4||
The Guru has fulfilled my hope of meditation on God. ||4||
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭੀ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਉ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
jin naa-o paa-i-aa so Dhanvantaa jee-o.
Blessed is the one who attains the wealth of Naam.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਧਨਾਢ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸੁ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
jin parabh Dhi-aa-i-aa so sobhaavantaa jee-o.
One who meditates on God becomes distinguished.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਭ ਸੁਕਰਣੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
jis saaDhoo sangat tis sabh sukarnee jee-o.
Sublime are the deeds of the one who joins the holy congregation;
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ,
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥੧॥੧੬੬॥
jan naanak sahj samaa-ee jee-o. ||5||1||166||
O’ Nanak, such a person has intuitively merged in the eternal God. ||5||1||166||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੫॥੧॥੧੬੬॥

ਆਉ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
aa-o hamaarai raam pi-aaray jee-o.
O’ my beloved God, come and dwell in my heart.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੇ-ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸ।
ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
rain dinas saas saas chitaaray jee-o.
I remember You always, with every breath.
ਮੈਂ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸੰਤ ਦੇਉ ਸੰਦੇਸਾ ਪੈ ਚਰਣਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
sant day-o sandaysaa pai charnaaray jee-o.
With utmost humility I approach You through the Guru, saying
(ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਲ) ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
tuDh bin kit biDh taree-ai jee-o. ||1||
that without You I can’t swim across the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||
(ਕਿ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ!) ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ (ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਮੈ ਕਰੇ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
sang tumaarai mai karay anandaa jee-o.)
O’ God, being in Your company I enjoy the state of bliss.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਵਣਿ ਤਿਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
van tin taribhavan sukh parmaanandaa jee-o.
Yes, I feel the state of supreme bliss beholding You everywhere and in everything.
ਸਾਰੀ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖ ਪਰਮ ਆਨੰਦ (ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ)।
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸੰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
sayj suhaavee ih man bigsandaa jee-o.
My heart is joyful to welcome You.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਖਿੜ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ!
ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਲਹੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
paykh darsan ih sukh lahee-ai jee-o. ||2||
This bliss is attained by realizing Your presence alone.||2||
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਰਿ ਕਰੀ ਨਿਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
charan pakhaar karee nit sayvaa jee-o.
I always follow the Guru’s teachings with utmost devotion.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਰਨ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਪੂਜਾ ਅਰਚਾ ਬੰਦਨ ਦੇਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
poojaa archaa bandan dayvaa jee-o.
For me this is my worship, flower offerings and paying of respect to the angels.
ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਦੇਵ-ਪੂਜਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਹੈ,
ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਲੇਵਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
daasan daas naam jap layvaa jee-o.
It is my wish to become a humble servant of your devotees and always meditate on Naam.
ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ-
ਬਿਨਉ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
bin-o thaakur peh kahee-ai jee-o. ||3||
And, I request your devotees to convey this prayer of mine to You, the Master-God. ||3||
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਮੈਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਸ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹੋ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਆਖਣੀ ॥੩॥
ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
ichh punnee mayree man tan hari-aa jee-o.
My desires are fulfilled and my mind and body are rejuvenated.
ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾ) ਹਰਾ ਹੋ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਦਰਸਨ ਪੇਖਤ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
darsan paykhat sabh dukh parhari-aa jee-o.
Realizing Your presence, my sorrows have been dispelled.
(ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੇ ਜਪਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
har har naam japay jap tari-aa jee-o.
By always meditating on Your Name, I have crossed the world-ocean of vices.
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਹੁ ਅਜਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਹੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬੭॥
ih ajar naanak sukh sahee-ai jee-o. ||4||2||167||
O’ Nanak, by realizing Your blessed presence one enjoys such a celestial bliss that never wanes. ||4||2||167||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਿਆ) ਇਹ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬੭॥

sun sun saajan man mit pi-aaray jee-o.
Listen O’ my dear God, the beloved of my heart!
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ) ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ।
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਭਿ ਵਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
man tan tayraa ih jee-o bhe vaaray jee-o.
this mind, body and soul are blessed by You and I totally dedicate myself to You.
ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ (ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੈਥੋਂ) ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਵਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
visar naahee parabh paraan aDhaaray jee-o.
O’ God, the Support of my life, I never want to forget You and
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੁਲ ਨਾਹ,
ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sadaa tayree sarnaa-ee jee-o. ||1||
I want to always remain in Your refuge! ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਭਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
jis mili-ai man jeevai bhaa-ee jee-o.
On the realization of God, one spiritually rejuvenates
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
gur parsaadee so har har paa-ee jee-o.
but He can only be realized by the Guru’s grace.
ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਆ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
sabh kichh parabh kaa parabh kee-aa jaa-ee jee-o.
Everything including my mind and body belongs to God; all places belong to Him.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਹਨ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
parabh ka-o sad bal jaa-ee jee-u. ||2||
I dedicate myself to God forever. ||2||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
ayhu niDhaan japai vadbhaagee jee-o.
Only someone very fortunate meditates on the treasure of Naam,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਇਹ (ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਜੀਉ ॥
naam niranjan ayk liv laagee jee-o.
Such a person is totally attuned to the Name of the immaculate God.
ਉਸ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ-ਸਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
gur pooraa paa-i-aa sabh dukh mitaa-i-aa jee-o.
On meeting the perfect Guru, all his sorrows are dispelled,
ਜਿਸ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
aath pahar gun gaa-i-aa jee-o. ||3||
and he sings forever, the praises of God. ||3||
ਉਹ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
ratan padaarath har naam tumaaraa jee-o.
O’ God, Your Name is like a highly precious jewel.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ (ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ) ਹੈ।v
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
tooN sachaa saahu bhagat vanjaaraa jee-o.
You are the eternal banker and Your devotee is a trader of Naam.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਰਤਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
har Dhan raas sach vaapaaraa jee-o.
O’ God, Your Name is the true capital and Your devotee always trades in Naam.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ (ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਦਾ) ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਇਹੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੬੮॥
jan naanak sad balihaaraa jee-o. ||4||3||168||
O’ Nanak, I dedicate myself to You and to Your devotees forever. ||4||3||168||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਹਰੀ!) ਮੈਂ (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੬੮॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਲ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਰਾਹਦਾਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਭੇ ਗਲਾ ਜਾਤੀਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਕੈ ਚੁਪ ਕੀਆ ॥
sabhay galaa jaatee-aa sun kai chup kee-aa.
O’ God, the human being engrossed in Maya, is fully aware of the righteous deeds but remains aloof from them.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹਿਆ) ਜੀਵ ਪਰਮਾਰਥ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਕਦ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨ ਲਧੀਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੜਿਆ ॥੧॥
kad hee surat na laDhee-aa maa-i-aa mohrhi-aa. ||1||
Bewitched by Maya, he does not acquire the intellect to know God. ||1||
ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਵ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ (ਪਰਮਾਰਥ ਵਲ) ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਰਤ ਸਾਰਤਾ ਸੇ ਅਖੀ ਡਿਠੜਿਆ ॥
day-ay bujhaarat saartaa say akhee dith-rhi-aa.
Even after receiving clear signals that no one is going to stay here forever,
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਜਾਂ ਬੁਝਾਉਣੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਭੀ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਇਥੇ ਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਹਿ ਰਹਿਣਾ, ਫਿਰ) ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਭੀ ਵੇਖ ਲਈਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ
