ਸਗਲ ਦੂਖ ਕਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੨॥
sagal dookh kaa ho-i-aa naas. ||2||
his all sufferings come to an end. ||2||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਆਸਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਧਨੁ ਏਕ ॥
aasaa maan taan Dhan ayk.
For him, God is his only hope, honor, support and wealth.
ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ-ਤਾਣ ਤੇ ਧਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਟੇਕ ॥੩॥
saachay saah kee man meh tayk. ||3||
The sovereign God is the only support of his mind. ||3||
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਮਹਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਜਨ ਸਾਧ ਅਨਾਥ ॥
mahaa gareeb jan saaDh anaath.
The poor, helpless, devotees and saints
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੜੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਤੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਏ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੪॥੮੫॥੧੫੪॥
nanak prabh raakhe day haath. ||4||85||154||
are protected by the almighty God, O’ Nanak. ||4||85||154||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਲਿਆ l

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਚੇ ॥
har har naam majan kar soochay.
They who have become pure by bathing in the immaculate Name of God,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਤੀਰਥ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਪੁੰਨ ਫਲ ਮੂਚੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot garahan punn fal moochay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
have obtained the reward greater than the reward of the most virtuous deeds during millions of eclipses. ||1||Pause||
(ਨਾਮ-ਤੀਰਥ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਗ੍ਰਹਣਾਂ ਸਮੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਪੁੰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਵਧੀਕ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਬਸੇ ॥
har kay charan riday meh basay.
The one in whose heart is enshrined God’s immaculate Name,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਣ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਸੇ ॥੧॥
janam janam kay kilvikh nasay. ||1||
his sinful mistakes of countless births are eradicated ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਕੀਤੇ) ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
saaDhsang keertan fal paa-i-aa.
He who is blessed with the reward of singing God’s Praises in the holy congregation,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ,
ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
jam kaa maarag darisat na aa-i-aa. ||2||
did not have to face the fear of death at all ||2||
ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਂ ਭੀ ਨ ਪਿਆ l
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
man bach karam govind aDhaar.
He who has made God as the only support for his mind, words and deeds,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਿਓ ਬਿਖੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
taa tay chhuti-o bikh sansaar. ||3||
has gotten rid of the poisonous worldly bonds of Maya ||3||
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ l
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh keeno apnaa.
Bestowing His mercy, one whom God has made as His own,
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੪॥੮੬॥੧੫੫॥
naanak jaap japay har japnaa. ||4||86||155||
O’ Nanak, that person always lovingly meditates on God’s Name. ||4||86||155||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ l

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ॥
pa-o sarnaa-ee jin har jaatay.
Seek the refuge of the one who already has realized God.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ l
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਚਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
man tan seetal charan har raatay. ||1||
Imbued with God’s immaculate Name the mind and body become calm. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆਂ ਮਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਰੀਰ (ਭਾਵ, ਹਰੇਕ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਬਸਾਹੀ ॥
bhai bhanjan parabh man na basaahee.
Those who do not enshrine God, the destroyer of all fear, in their mind,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਾਂਦੇ,
ਡਰਪਤ ਡਰਪਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
darpat darpat janam bahut jaahee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
spend countless births in fear and dread. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਡਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੰਬਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥
jaa kai ridai basi-o har naam.
He in whose mind is enshrined God’s Name,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥
sagal manorath taa kay pooran kaam. ||2||
all his desires are fulfilled and all his tasks are accomplished. ||2||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਾਸਿ ॥
janam jaraa mirat jis vaas.
He in whose hands is our birth, old age, and death,
ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਊਣ, ਸਾਡਾ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਮੌਤ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
so samrath simar saas giraas. ||3||
lovingly remember that All-powerful God with each breath and morsel. ||3||
ਉਸ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ l
ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕ ॥
meet saajan sakhaa parabh ayk.
The one God alone is our friend, well wisher, and companion.
ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ (ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਸੱਜਣ ਹੈ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੮੭॥੧੫੬॥
naam su-aamee kaa naanak tayk. ||4||87||156||
O’ Nanak, Name of that Master-God is our only Support. ||4||87||156||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
baahar raakhi-o ridai samaal.
When the saints go out for daily chores, they keep God enshrined in their hearts,
ਜਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਲੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
ghar aa-ay govind lai naal. ||1||
and when they return home, they bring God along with them. (they always keep God enshrined in their hearts) ||1||
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
har har naam santan kai sang.
God’s Name is always enshrined in the hearts of the saints.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man tan raataa raam kai rang. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Their minds and bodies are imbued with the Love of God. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
gur parsaadee saagar tari-aa.
Through the Guru’s grace, (by meditating on God’s Name) the saints cross over the worldly ocean of vices,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
janam janam kay kilvikh sabh hiri-aa. ||2||
and all their sins of myriad of births are destroyed. ||2||
ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਹਿਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
sobhaa surat naam bhagvant.
Honor and divine wisdom are acquired through God’s Name.
ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇੱਜਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤੁ ॥੩॥
pooray gur kaa nirmal mant. ||3||
This is the immaculate mantra (teaching) of the perfect Guru. ||3||
ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼।
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
charan kamal hirday meh jaap.
Lovingly meditate on the immaculate Name of God in your heart.
ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੪॥੮੮॥੧੫੭॥
naanak paykh jeevai partaap. ||4||88||157||
Nanak attains spiritual life by beholding the glory of God. ||4||88||157||
ਨਾਨਕ (ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਪਰਤਾਪ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ

Dhan ih thaan govind gun gaa-ay.
Blessed is the heart of the person who sings the Praises of God.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਵਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਥਾਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਬਸਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kusal khaym parabh aap basaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God Himself bestows peace and pleasure in that heart. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਲਿਆ ਵਸਾਏ ਹਨ
ਬਿਪਤਿ ਤਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
bipat tahaa jahaa har simran naahee.
The one who does not remember God remains miserable.
ਬਿਪਤਾ (ਸਦਾ) ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਵਾਪਰੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ) ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਜਹ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
kot anand jah har gun gaahee. ||1||
The one who sings the Praises of God always enjoys bliss. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਥੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਨ
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥
har bisri-ai dukh rog ghanayray.
Forgetting God, one suffers from all kinds of sorrows and diseases.
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੋਗ (ਆ ਘੇਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੨॥
parabh sayvaa jam lagai na nayray. ||2||
One who meditates on Naam has no fear of death. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਭਉ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁੱਕਦਾ
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
so vadbhaagee nihchal thaan.
Blessed is the heart of a person,
ਉਹ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਥਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਅਡੋਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥
jah japee-ai parabh kayval naam. ||3||
who meditates only on God’s Name. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜਹ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
jah jaa-ee-ai tah naal mayraa su-aamee.
Wherever I go, my Master-God is with me.
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਧਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੮੯॥੧੫੮॥
naanak ka-o mili-aa antarjaamee. ||4||89||158||
Nanak has met the Inner-knower of hearts. ||4||89||158||
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
jo paraanee govind Dhi-aavai.
That mortal who always meditates on God,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੜਿਆ ਅਣਪੜਿਆ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
parhi-aa anparhi-aa param gat paavai. ||1||
whether educated or uneducated, receives supreme state of spiritual bliss. ||1||
ਉਹ ਚਾਹੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਚਾਹੇ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ-ਹੀਨ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
saaDhoo sang simar gopaal.
Meditate on God in the Company of the holy.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਝੂਠਾ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bin naavai jhoothaa Dhan maal. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Except the wealth of Naam, all worldly wealth and property is false and shall not accompany you in the end. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਧਨ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਲ ਪੱਕਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥
