ga-orhee mehlaa 5.
Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਤੂੰ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
tooN samrath tooNhai mayraa su-aamee.
O’ God, You are all powerful, You are my Master.
(ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ!) ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੧॥
sabh kichh tum tay tooN antarjaamee. ||1||
Everything comes from You; You are the knower of all minds.
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ l
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਨ ਓਟ ॥
paarbarahm pooran jan ot.
O’ all pervading supreme God, You are the support of all Your devotees
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਜਨ ਕੋਟਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayree saran uDhrahi jan kot. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Millions have been saved (from worldly ocean of vices) by seeking Your shelter.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨl
ਜੇਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
jaytay jee-a taytay sabh tayray.
O’ God, as many beings as there arein this world, they all are Yours.
(ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥੨॥
tumree kirpaa tay sookh ghanayray. ||2||
By Your Grace, mortals are obtaining all sorts of comforts. ||2||
ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
jo kichh vartai sabh tayraa bhaanaa.
Whatever happens, is all according to Your Will.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥੩॥
hukam boojhai so sach samaanaa. ||3||
The one who understands Your command merges in the Truth.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਜੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
kar kirpaa deejai parabh daan.
Please grant Your Grace, God, and bestow this gift of Naam,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼,
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੬੬॥੧੩੫॥
naanak simrai naam niDhaan. ||4||66||135||
upon Nanak, so that Nanak meditate on the treasure of Your Name.
ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰੇ!

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
taa kaa daras paa-ee-ai vadbhaagee.
By great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is obtained,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੧॥
jaa kee raam naam liv laagee. ||1||
whose mind is attuned to God’s Name
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
jaa kai har vasi-aa man maahee.
He, in whose mind God has come to reside
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taa ka-o dukh supnai bhee naahee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He does not suffer pain, even in dreams.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ (ਕੋਈ) ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਜਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
sarab niDhaan raakhay jan maahi.
God has placed all treasures of spiritual virtues in the mind of His devotee.
(ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
taa kai sang kilvikh dukh jaahi. ||2||
In his company all sins and sorrows go away.
ਅਜੇਹੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ.
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
jan kee mahimaa kathee na jaa-ay.
The Glory of such a devotee cannot be described.
ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ, ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਨੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
paarbarahm jan rahi-aa samaa-ay. ||3||
because the devotee becomes the embodiment of God, Who is pervading everywhere.
ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਉਸ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ l
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨੀਜੈ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh bin-o suneejai.
O’ God, grant Your mercy and listen to this request of mine,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ। ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ,
ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੪॥੬੭॥੧੩੬॥
daas kee Dhoor naanak ka-o deejai. ||4||67||136||
bless Nanak with the dust of the feet (humble service) of Your devotee.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਦੇਹ l

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਇ ਬਲਾਇ ॥
har simrat tayree jaa-ay balaa-ay.
Remembering God with love and devotion, your misfortune shall go away,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਮਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹਟ ਜਾਏਗੀ l
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
sarab kali-aan vasai man aa-ay. ||1||
and all comforts shall come to reside in your mind.
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਵੱਸਣਗੇ l
ਭਜੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥
bhaj man mayray ayko naam.
O’ my mind, always meditate on God’s Name with love and devotion.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੈ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jee-a tayray kai aavai kaam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
It alone shall be of use to your soul in God’s court.
ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਵੇਗਾ (ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਭੇਗਾ) l
ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥
rain dinas gun gaa-o anantaa.m
Always sing the praises of the infinite God,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ,
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤਾ ॥੨॥
gur pooray kaa nirmal manntaa. ||2||
through the immaculate teachings of the perfect Guru.
ਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ l
ਛੋਡਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਏਕ ਟੇਕ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
chhod upaav ayk tayk raakh.
Give up other efforts, and place your faith in the Support of the One (God).
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਛੱਡ, ਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਰੱਖ।
ਮਹਾ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥੩॥
mahaa padaarath amrit ras chaakh. ||3||
Taste the Ambrosial Essence of this (God’s Name), the greatest treasure.
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੱਖ-ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪਦਾਰਥ l
ਬਿਖਮ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤੇਈ ਜਨ ਤਰੇ ॥
bikham saagar tay-ee jan taray.
They alone cross over the treacherous world-ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਔਖੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਮੇਤ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੪॥੬੮॥੧੩੭॥
naanak jaa ka-o nadar karay. ||4||68||137||
O Nanak, upon whom the God casts His Glance of Grace.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ l

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
hirdai charan kamal parabh Dhaaray.
They who enshrine Lotus Feet of God (God’s Name) in their hearts,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
pooray satgur mil nistaaray. ||1||
Meeting the Perfect True Guru, they swim across the world-ocean of vices.
ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l .
ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
govind gun gaavhu mayray bhaa-ee.
O, my brothers, Sing the Glorious Praises of the Master of the universe.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil saaDhoo har naam Dhi-aa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Meeting the Saint (Guru), meditate on God’s Name with love and devotion.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰੋ.
ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਹੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
dulabh dayh ho-ee parvaan.
This human body, so difficult to obtain, is approved in God’s Court,
ਬੜੀ ਕਠਨਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ-(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
satgur tay paa-i-aa naam neesaan. ||2||
when one receives the banner of the Naam from the True Guru.
ਜਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
har simrat pooran pad paa-i-aa.
Meditating on God with loving devotion, the supreme spiritual status is obtained.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
saaDhsang bhai bharam mitaa-i-aa. ||3||
In the holy congregation all fear and doubt depart.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮਿਟਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
jat kat daykh-a-u tat rahi-aa samaa-ay.
Wherever I look, there I see God pervading.
ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਭੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੪॥੬੯॥੧੩੮॥
naanak daas har kee sarnaa-ay. ||4||69||138||
O’ Nanak, the devotees always remain in God’s shelter.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੇਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ

ਗੁਰ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
gur jee kay darsan ka-o bal jaa-o.
I dedicate myself unto the sight of the revered Guru.
ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
jap jap jeevaa satgur naa-o. ||1||
I feel spiritually rejuvinated by continuously remembering the true Guru’s words.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
paarbarahm pooran gurdayv.
O’ my supreme God, O’ my perfect divine Guru,
ਹੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਹੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ!
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲਾਗਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa laaga-o tayree sayv. ||1|| rahaa-o.
please show mercy so that I may remain in your service and meditation
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਾਂ
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
charan kamal hirdai ur Dhaaree.
I enshrine Gutu’s Lotus Feet (immaculate words) within my heart.
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਧਨ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
man tan Dhan gur paraan aDhaaree. ||2||
Guru’s words are the support of my life, mind, body and wealth.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਨ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹਨ l
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
safal janam hovai parvaan.
Your human birth will become fruitful and you will be approved in God’s court,
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਂਗਾ
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
gur paarbarahm nikat kar jaan. ||3||
if you consider the Guru and God always present very close to you.
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝੇਂ ॥
ਸੰਤ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
sant Dhoor paa-ee-ai vadbhaagee.
The dust of Guru’s feet (the Guru’s love and teaching) is obtained only by good fortune.
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੪॥੭੦॥੧੩੯॥
naanak gur bhaytat har si-o liv laagee. ||4||70||139||
O’ Nanak, upon meeting the Guru, one’s mind becomes attuned to God.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ
