O’ Nanak, all honor and glory is obtained by becoming Your servant.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ l

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਭਏ ਸਮਰਥ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
jaa ka-o tum bha-ay samrath angaa.
O’ all powerful God, whom You support,
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਹਾਈ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਾਲੰਗਾ ॥੧॥
taa ka-o kachh naahee kaalangaa. ||1||
no stain of vices can stick to him.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਦਾ) ਦਾਗ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁਹ ਸਕਦਾ
ਮਾਧਉ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹੈ ਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
maaDha-o jaa ka-o hai aas tumaaree.
O’ God, the one who depends upon Your support,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਹੈ,
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taa ka-o kachh naahee sansaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
he does not care for the support of the worldly people.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਬਣਾਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ l
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
jaa kai hirdai thaakur ho-ay.
The person who always remember God with love and devotion,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚੇਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਹਸਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
taa ka-o sahsaa naahee ko-ay. ||2||
no anxiety can affect him.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਸਹਮ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਦੀਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧੀਰ ॥
jaa ka-o tum deenee parabh Dheer.
O’ God, whom You have given solace,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਧੀਰਜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਪੀਰ ॥੩॥
taa kai nikat na aavai peer. ||3||
-no pain or sorrow comes near him.
ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
kaho naanak mai so gur paa-i-aa.
Says Nanak, I have found that Guru,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਦੇਖਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪੧॥੧੧੦॥
paarbarahm pooran daykhaa-i-aa. ||4||41||110||
who has shown me the Perfect, all pervading Supreme God.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ l

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਪਾਈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
dulabh dayh paa-ee vadbhaagee.
This human body is so difficult to obtain; it is only obtained by great good fortune.
ਇਹ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਪਹਿ ਤੇ ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
naam na jaapeh tay aatam ghaatee. ||1||
Those who do not meditate on God’s Name,are committing spiritual suicide.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਪਦੇ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਮਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਜਿਨਾ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਰਾਮ ॥
mar na jaahee jinaa bisrat raam.
why don’t they die who forget God’s Name?
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ?
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਉਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam bihoon jeevan ka-un kaam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Human life is totally useless without God’s Name.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ
ਖਾਤ ਪੀਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਹਸਤ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
khaat peet khaylat hasat bisthaar.
(Without meditating on God’s Name, People spend their time) eating, drinking, playing, laughing and showing off,
(ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਖੇਡਣ ਹੱਸਣ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕਵਨ ਅਰਥ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥੨॥
kavan arath mirtak seegaar. ||2||
but without God’s Name they are like dead persons, and all their pursuits are like embellishing dead bodies.
(ਪਰ ਇਹ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ,ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਲਾਉਣੇ), ਮੁਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ
ਜੋ ਨ ਸੁਨਹਿ ਜਸੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥
jo na suneh jas parmaanandaa.
Those who do not listen to the Praises of God,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ,
ਪਸੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਗਦ ਜੋਨਿ ਤੇ ਮੰਦਾ ॥੩॥
pas pankhee tarigad jon tay mandaa. ||3||
are worse off than beasts, birds or creeping creatures.
ਉਹ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪੰਛੀ ਤੇ ਟੇਢੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਭੈੜੇ ਹਨ l
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
kaho naanak gur mantar drirh-aa-i-aa.
Nanak Say, the person in whose mind the Guru has firmly implanted his word,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪੨॥੧੧੧॥
kayval naam rid maahi samaa-i-aa. ||4||42||111||
only God’s Name remain enshrined in that person’s mind.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਕਾ ਕੀ ਮਾਈ ਕਾ ਕੋ ਬਾਪ ॥
kaa kee maa-ee kaa ko baap.
(In reality) no one is anybody’s mother or father forever.
(ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਧਾਰੀਕ ਝੂਠੇ ਸਭਿ ਸਾਕ ॥੧॥
naam Dhaareek jhoothay sabh saak. ||1||
All these relations are short lived and in name only.
ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਕ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਕਹਿਣ-ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਹਨ
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਮੂਰਖ ਭਖਲਾਇਆ ॥
kaahay ka-o moorakh bhakhlaa-i-aa.
O’ fool, why are you yelling as though you have seen a nightmare?
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਲਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ?
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਿ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil sanjog hukam tooN aa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
It is due to your past deeds and God’s command you have come into this world.
ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ l
ਏਕਾ ਮਾਟੀ ਏਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ॥
aykaa maatee aykaa jot.
All mortals are made from the same elements and have the same soul,
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਵਿਚ (ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ) ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ,
ਏਕੋ ਪਵਨੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਉਨੁ ਰੋਤਿ ॥੨॥
ayko pavan kahaa ka-un rot. ||2||
-and the same life-breath. Therefore why and for whom, does anyone cry?
ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਹਦੇ ਲਈ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰੇ?
ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਲਲਾਹੀ ॥
mayraa mayraa kar billaahee.
People cry and wail, saying my near and dear has died,
ਕਿਸੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਤੇ ਲੋਕ ‘ਮੇਰਾ, ਮੇਰਾ’ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਵਿਲਕਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਮਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਅਰਾ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੩॥
maranhaar ih jee-araa naahee. ||3||
This soul is not perishable.
ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਲੇ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
kaho naanak gur kholay kapaat.
Says Nanak, the Guru has removed all my doubts.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਵਾੜ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਏ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਥਾਟ ॥੪॥੪੩॥੧੧੨॥
mukat bha-ay binsay bharam thaat. ||4||43||112||
I am liberated, and my doubts have been dispelled.
ਮੈਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸ਼ੱਕ-ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਢਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਜੋ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਲੋਗ ॥
vaday vaday jo deeseh log.
Those who seem to be great and powerful,
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਤਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਨਾਲ) ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਰੋਗ ॥੧॥
tin ka-o bi-aapai chintaa rog. ||1||
are afflicted by the disease of anxiety. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ (ਸਦਾ) ਦਬਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਉਨ ਵਡਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
ka-un vadaa maa-i-aa vadi-aa-ee.
Who is great by the greatness of Maya?
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਉਚਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੋਈ ਉੰਚਾ ਹੈ?
ਸੋ ਵਡਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
so vadaa jin raam liv laa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He alone is great, who is lovingly attuned to God.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਨ ਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ l
ਭੂਮੀਆ ਭੂਮਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਲੁਝੈ ॥
bhoomee-aa bhoom oopar nit lujhai.
The landlord fights over his land each day.
ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਸਦਾ ਲੜਦਾ-ਝਗੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਬੁਝੈ ॥੨॥
chhod chalai tarisnaa nahee bujhai. ||2||
Even while departing (from the world, this person’s) craving for land is not quenched.
ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਟਦੀ l
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
kaho naanak ih tat beechaaraa.
Nanak Say, He has realized this truth after careful deliberation,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਅਸਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਲੱਭੀ ਹੈ,
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ॥੩॥੪੪॥੧੧੩॥
bin har bhajan naahee chhutkaaraa. ||3||44||113||
that without meditation on God’s Name, there is no escape from worldly desires.
ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਪੂਰਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
pooraa maarag pooraa isnaan.
Perfect is the path; perfect is the cleansing bath.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸਲ ਤੀਰਥ- ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
sabh kichh pooraa hirdai naam. ||1||
Everything is perfect, if the Naam is in the heart. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਉੱਦਮ ਉਕਾਈ-ਹੀਣ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਪੂਰੀ ਰਹੀ ਜਾ ਪੂਰੈ ਰਾਖੀ ॥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਜਨ ਤਾਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pooree rahee jaa poorai raakhee.paarbarahm kee saran jan taakee.
The devotees who have sought the shelter of the all-pervading God, their honor remains perfect, because the Perfect God preserved it.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਸਦਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਭੁੱਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖੀ l
ਪੂਰਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ॥
pooraa sukh pooraa santokh.
(The person who remembers God with love and devotion), is in perfect peace and is fully content in his life.
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ
ਪੂਰਾ ਤਪੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥
pooraa tap pooran raaj jog. ||2||
His repentance is deemed perfect and enjoys both the worldly kingdom and perfect union with God.
ਉਸਦਾ ਅਭੁੱਲ ਤਪ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਭੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥
har kai maarag patit puneet.
By remembering God With love and devotion, even the worst sinners are sanctified,
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੇ ਚਲਦਿਆਂ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਪੂਰੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਲੋਕੀਕ ॥੩॥
pooree sobhaa pooraa lokeek. ||3||
they obtain perfect glory in God’s court and maintain complete respect among worldly people.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰਤਣ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਭੀ ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਸਦ ਵਸੈ ਹਦੂਰਾ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੪॥੪੫॥੧੧੪॥
karanhaar sad vasai hadooraa. kaho naanak mayraa satgur pooraa.
Nanak says, He who meets my perfect True Guru is able to see the creator always present besides him.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਭੁੱਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ

Raag Gauree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਅਘ ਕੋਟ ॥
sant kee Dhoor mitay agh kot.
Millions of sins are wiped away by humbly following the Guru’s teachings.
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
