ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲੀ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥
ukat si-aanap saglee ti-aag.
Give up all your arguments and cleverness,
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦਲੀਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ,
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
sant janaa kee charnee laag. ||2||
and humbly follow the teachings of the saintly persons. ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਅ ਹਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
sarab jee-a heh jaa kai haath.
One, in whose control are all the creatures,
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ (ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ) ਹਨ,
ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
kaday na vichhurhai sabh kai saath.
who never separates from them and always remains with all of them.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਵੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, (ਸਦਾ) ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l,
ਉਪਾਵ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ॥
upaav chhod gahu tis kee ot.
Abandon all your efforts and seek the support of God;
ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀਲੇ-ਜਤਨ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ-ਪਰਨਾ ਫੜ,
ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥੩॥
nimakh maahi hovai tayree chhot. ||3||
in an instant you shall be liberated from the bonds of Maya. ||3||
ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਫੋਰ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਤੇਰੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗੀ
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
sadaa nikat kar tis no jaan.
Know that God is always near at hand.
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
parabh kee aagi-aa sat kar maan.
Accept God’s command as eternal.
ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਨ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਆਪੁ ॥
gur kai bachan mitaavhu aap.
Through the Guru’s teachings eradicate your self-conceit.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੭੩॥
har har naam naanak jap jaap. ||4||4||73||
O Nanak, meditate on God’s name with loving devotion. ||4||4||73||

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
gur kaa bachan sadaa abhinaasee.
The Guru’s Word is eternal and everlasting.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਦੇ ਛਿੱਜਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਨਹੀਂ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੀ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ॥
gur kai bachan katee jam faasee.
Through the Guru’s word one is saved from the noose of death.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
gur kaa bachan jee-a kai sang.
The Guru’s word always remains with the soul.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸਦਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਚੈ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥
gur kai bachan rachai raam kai rang. ||1||
Through the Guru’s word one is imbued with God’s love. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥
jo gur dee-aa so man kai kaam.
Whatever teachings the Guru gives, is useful to the mind.
ਜੋ (ਉਪਦੇਸ਼) ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sant kaa kee-aa sat kar maan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whatever the Guru does, accept that as True. ||1||Pause||
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ,) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ (ਇਸ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਟਲ ਅਛੇਦ ॥
gur kaa bachan atal achhayd.
The Guru’s Word is eternal and infallible.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਅਟਲ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਛਿੱਜਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੇਦ ॥
gur kai bachan katay bharam bhayd.
Through the Guru’s Word, doubt and prejudice are dispelled.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
gur kaa bachan katahu na jaa-ay.
The Guru’s Word never goes waste.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਦੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੨॥
gur kai bachan har kay gun gaa-ay. ||2||
Through the Guru’s word one sings praises of God. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ (ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ) ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ (ਰਹਿੰਦਾ) ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ॥
gur kaa bachan jee-a kai saath.
The Guru’s word always remains with the soul.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
gur kaa bachan anaath ko naath.
The Guru’s word is the support of the support-less.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਿਆਸਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ॥
gur kai bachan narak na pavai.
By following the Guru’s word, one is not cast in hell (one does not suffer in misery).
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ,
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਵੈ ॥੩॥
gur kai bachan rasnaa amrit ravai. ||3||
Through Guru’s word one enjoys the ambrosial nectar of Naam. ||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
gur kaa bachan pargat sansaar.
Through the Guru’s word one becomes known in the world.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਸਿੱਧ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
gur kai bachan na aavai haar.
Following the Guru’s word one does not lose the game of life.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੀਵਨ-ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
jis jan ho-ay aap kirpaal.
On whom God Himself becomes gracious .
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੪॥੫॥੭੪॥
naanak satgur sadaa da-i-aal. ||4||5||74||
O’ Nanak, the true Guru is always kind on him. ||4||5||74||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Guru:
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮਾਟੀ ਤੇ ਰਤਨੁ ॥
jin keetaa maatee tay ratan.
He, who created my jewel- like priceless body out of dust,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਤੋਂ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਅਮੋਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਤਨੁ ॥
garabh meh raakhi-aa jin kar jatan.
He, who kept me safe in the mother’s womb.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
jin deenee sobhaa vadi-aa-ee.
He, who blessed me honor and glory,
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥
tis parabh ka-o aath pahar Dhi-aa-ee. ||1||
I remember Him with loving devotion at all the times. ||1||
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਰਮਈਆ ਰੇਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
rama-ee-aa rayn saaDh jan paava-o.
O’ God, bless me with the humble service of the saintly people,
ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ! (ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂ,
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur mil apunaa khasam Dhi-aava-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and by following the Guru’s teachings I will lovingly remember You. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੂੜ ਤੇ ਬਕਤਾ ॥
jin keetaa moorh tay baktaa.
He, who transformed me, an ignorant fool, into a fine speaker,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ-ਅੰਞਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਬੇਸੁਰਤ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤਾ ॥
jin keetaa baysurat tay surtaa.
he who changed me, an ignorant, to a wise person,
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਬੇਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਸਮਝਦਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
jis parsaad navai niDh paa-ee.
by whose Grace, I have received all the nine treasures of the world,
ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ (ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਨੌ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
so parabh man tay bisrat naahee. ||2||
That almighty God never goes out of my mind. ||2||
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
jin dee-aa nithaavay ka-o thaan.
He, who gave shelter to the shelter-less,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ (ਕਰਤਾਰ) ਨੇ ਨਿਥਾਵੇਂ ਨੂੰ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
jin dee-aa nimaanay ka-o maan.
He, who blessed honor to the one without honor,
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ-ਆਦਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
jin keenee sabh pooran aasaa.
He, who fulfilled all my desire,
ਜਿਸ (ਕਰਤਾਰ) ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਸ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ) ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
simra-o din rain saas giraasaa. ||3||
I lovingly remember Him day and night, with every breath and morsel. ||3||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਿਲਕ ਕਾਟੀ ॥
jis parsaad maa-i-aa silak kaatee.
He, by whose grace my bonds of worldly riches has been cut off,
ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮੇਰੇ ਗਲੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਟੀ ॥
gur parsaad amrit bikh khaatee.
by the Guru’s grace, The poisonous Maya which tasted like nectar before, now tastes bitter like poison.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਰਗੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੁਣ) ਕੌੜੀ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਭਾਸ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
kaho naanak is tay kichh naahee.
Nanak says, one cannot do anything on one’s own efforts.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਇਸ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ (ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ)।
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਕਉ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੫॥
raakhanhaaray ka-o saalaahee. ||4||6||75||
By His Grace, I sing the praises of God, the savior. ||4||6||75||
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਰੱਖਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ l

In His refuge, there is no fear and sorrow.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਸ ਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ, ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਉਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
us tay baahar kachhoo na hog.
Nothing can happen outside His Will,
ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ, ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ
ਤਜੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
tajee si-aanap bal buDh bikaar.
I have renounced all my cleverness, power and evil intellect.
ਮੈਂ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ, ਤਾਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਛਡ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥
daas apnay kee raakhanhaar. ||1||
God is the protector of the honor of His devotee. ||1||
ਉਹ ਰਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ l
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
jap man mayray raam raam rang.
O’ my mind, meditate on God with love,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ।
ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ghar baahar tayrai sad sang. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He is always with you both within and without.||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
tis kee tayk manai meh raakh.
(O’ my friend), in your mind always depend on His support.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਰੱਖ,
