ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
ghat ghat rama-ee-aa ramat raam raa-ay gur sabad guroo liv laagay.
Even though God pervades in every heart, yet it is only through the Guru’s word that one is attuned to Him.
(ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਦੇਵਉ ਕਾਟਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਉ ਮੇਰਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੨॥
ha-o man tan dayva-o kaat guroo ka-o mayraa bharam bha-o gur bachnee bhaagay. ||2||
I surrender my body and mind to the Guru, because the Guru’s teachings have dispelled my doubt and fear. ll2ll
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਦੇਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ (ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ) ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਦੇਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਅੰਧਿਆਰੈ ਦੀਪਕ ਆਨਿ ਜਲਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
anDhi-aarai deepak aan jalaa-ay gur gi-aan guroo liv laagay.
The Guru lights the lamp of divine wisdom in the darkness of one’s ignorant mind, and through the Guru’s teachings one gets attuned to the Guru.
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਲਹੀ ਮਨ ਜਾਗੇ ॥੩॥
agi-aan anDhayraa binas binaasi-o ghar vasat lahee man jaagay. ||3||
The darkness of ignorance is dispelled, the wealth of Naam is realized within the heart and the mind becomes awake from the slumber of Maya. ||3||
ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸਾਕਤ ਬਧਿਕ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਜਮ ਜੋਹਨਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
saakat baDhik maa-i-aaDhaaree tin jam johan laagay.
The faithless cynics become cruel-hearted like hunters and are stalked by the demon of death.
ਮਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿਰਦਈ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸੀਸੁ ਨ ਬੇਚਿਆ ਓਇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥੪॥
un satgur aagai sees na baychi-aa o-ay aavahi jaahi abhaagay. ||4||
They do not surrender their ego before the true Guru, so these unfortunate ones keep suffering in the cycles of birth and death. ||4||
ਉਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਚਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਵਾਂਦੇ, ਉਹ ਬਦ-ਕਿਸਮਤ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਹਮਰਾ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਮ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਗੇ ॥
hamraa bin-o sunhu parabh thaakur ham saran parabhoo har maagay.
O’ God, O’ my master, please listen to my prayer, I have come to Your refuge and beg for Naam from You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਲਜ ਪਾਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਬੇਚਿਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੇ ॥੫॥੧੦॥੨੪॥੬੨॥
jan naanak kee laj paat guroo hai sir baychi-o satgur aagay. ||5||10||24||62||
Guru is the savior of my respect and honor of Nanak . I have totally surrendered to the true Guru as if I have sold myself to him. (5-10-24-62)
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ l

Raag Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Guru:
ਹਮ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
ham ahaNkaaree ahaNkaar agi-aan mat gur mili-ai aap gavaa-i-aa.
Guru’s grace the malady of ego is dispelled, we obtain peace. Therefore, I say blessed is that Guru-God, the king of the universe.||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ l
ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
ha-umai rog ga-i-aa sukh paa-i-aa Dhan Dhan guroo har raa-i-aa. ||1||
When (by Guru’s grace) the malady of ego is dispelled, we obtain peace. Therefore, I say blessed is that Guru-God, the king of the universe.||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ l
ਰਾਮ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam gur kai bachan har paa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Through the Guru’s teachings, I have realized God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਇਆ ॥
mayrai hee-arai pareet raam raa-ay kee gur maarag panth bataa-i-aa.
My heart is filled with love for God, the Sovereign King, and the Guru has shown me the path and the way to unite with Him.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੈ l ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
mayraa jee-o pind sabh satgur aagai jin vichhurhi-aa har gal laa-i-aa. ||2||
I surrender my soul and body to the Guru, who has united me with God from whom I had been separated. ||2||
ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਸਮੂਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿੱਛੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ l
ਮੇਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
mayrai antar pareet lagee daykhan ka-o gur hirday naal dikhaa-i-aa.
Within my mind was a longing to behold God, the Guru revealed God dwelling in my heart itself.
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਮੋਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਆਪੁ ਵੇਚਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
sahj anand bha-i-aa man morai gur aagai aap vaychaa-i-aa. ||3||
Within my mind, intuitive peace and bliss have arisen; therefore I have totally surrendered myself to the Guru as if I have sold myself to him.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਹੁਣ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇਵਜ਼ ਵਿਚ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ
ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਪਾਪ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਸਟੀ ਚੋਰ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ॥
ham apraaDh paap baho keenay kar dustee chor churaa-i-aa.
I have committed many sins and evil deeds and concealed these like a thief.
ਮੈਂ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਕਈ ਭੈੜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਤੇ ਲੁਕਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੫॥੬੩॥
ab naanak sarnaagat aa-ay har raakho laaj har bhaa-i-aa. ||4||11||25||63||
Now, Nanak has come to Your refuge, O’ God, please save my honor as it pleases You. ||4||11||25||63||
ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ, ਹੁਣ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰਖ !

Raag Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Guru:
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਬਾਜੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
gurmat baajai sabad anaahad gurmat manoo-aa gaavai.
Through the Guru’s teachings, the melody of continuous divine music keeps vibrating in one’s mind and his mind sings the praises of God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
vadbhaagee gur darsan paa-i-aa Dhan Dhan guroo liv laavai. ||1||
Only a very fortunate person beholds the blessed sight of the Guru, and blessed is the Guru who inspires one to attune to the love of God.||1||
ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ, ਸਦਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gurmukh har liv laavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
It is only through the Guru’s teachings that one attunes oneself to the love of God. |1lPause|
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਮਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
hamraa thaakur satgur pooraa man gur kee kaar kamaavai.
Only the perfect Guru is my Master, my mind follows only the Guru’s teachings.
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਮ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਹ ਪਾਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
ham mal mal Dhovah paav guroo kay jo har har kathaa sunaavai. ||2||
I humbly follow the Guru’s teachings, who narrates the virtues of God.|2|
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਮਲ ਮਲ ਕੇ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
hirdai gurmat raam rasaa-in jihvaa har gun gaavai.
Through the Guru’s teachings, the elixir of God’s Name is enshrined in my mind, and my tongue sings the praises of God.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਅਲਾਪਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਆਘਾਨੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਭੂਖ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
man rasak rasak har ras aaghaanay fir bahur na bhookh lagaavai. ||3||
My mind is fully satiated by enjoying the relish of God’s Name, and now it does not yearn for worldly pleasures any more. |3|
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਬੜੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੀ।
ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਾਵ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
ko-ee karai upaav anayk bahutayray bin kirpaa naam na paavai.
Even if one makes many efforts, without God’s mercy, one cannot obtain Naam.
ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਬਥੇਰੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੬॥੬੪॥
jan nanak ka-o har kirpaa Dhaaree mat gurmat naam darirhaavai. |4|12|26|64|
God has showered Mercy upon Nanak and through the wisdom of the Guru’s teachings he has firmly enshrined Naam in his mind. |4|12|26|64|
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ- ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Raag Gauree Maajh, Fourth Guru:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿੰਦੂ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰੰਮਾ ॥
gurmukh jindoo jap naam karammaa.
O my soul, follow the Guru’s teachings and do the deed of meditating on Naam.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ।
ਮਤਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਤਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮਾ ॥
mat maataa mat jee-o naam mukh raamaa.
Let Guru-given intellect be your support in life like your mother and recite God’s Name.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਮੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਬਣਾ, ਤੇ ਮੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ, ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਜਪ।
ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਜਨਮਾ ॥
santokh pitaa kar gur purakh ajnamaa.
Let contentment be Your guiding principle in life like your father, and follow the teachings of the Guru who is the embodiment of immortal God.
ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਣਾ, ਅਜੋਨੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ।
