ਕਰਮਾ ਉਪਰਿ ਨਿਬੜੈ ਜੇ ਲੋਚੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥੩॥
karmaa upar nibrhai jay lochai sabh ko-ay. ||3||
Even though everyone desires to have the wealth of Naam, it is obtained by those alone who are predestined as per their previous deeds. ||3||
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਕਰੇ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੋਈ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
naanak karnaa jin kee-aa so-ee saar karay-i.
O Nanak, the One who has created the creation – He alone takes care of it.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਪੀ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਕਿਸੈ ਵਡਾਈ ਦੇਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੮॥
hukam na jaapee khasam kaa kisai vadaa-ee day-ay. ||4||1||18||
The command of the Master cannot be known. Nobody knows, whom He may grant the glory of Naam. ||4||1||18||
ਉਸ ਖਸਮ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l

ਹਰਣੀ ਹੋਵਾ ਬਨਿ ਬਸਾ ਕੰਦ ਮੂਲ ਚੁਣਿ ਖਾਉ ॥
harnee hovaa ban basaa kand mool chun khaa-o.
O’ God, I wish I were like a deer living carefree in the woods, and your Name becomes my spiritual food just like roots and fruits are for the deer.
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਲਈ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਬਣੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਣੀ ਲਈ ਕੰਦ-ਮੂਲ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਰਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਣੀ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਹਉ ਜਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
gur parsaadee mayraa saho milai vaar vaar ha-o jaa-o jee-o. ||1||
If by the Guru’s grace I meet my beloved God, I will dedicate myself to Him forever.
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਵਾਂ l
ਮੈ ਬਨਜਾਰਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ॥
mai banjaaran raam kee.
I am a merchant of God’s Name.
ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਵਣਜਾਰਨ ਹਾਂ l
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਰੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ਜੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayraa naam vakhar vaapaar jee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Your Name is my entire wealth and trade. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੌਦਾ-ਸੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਦਾਗਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਕੋਕਿਲ ਹੋਵਾ ਅੰਬਿ ਬਸਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਬਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
kokil hovaa amb basaa sahj sabad beechaar.
O’ God, I wish I could intuitively reflect upon the Guru’s word and sing Your praises like a cuckoo enjoys singing while sitting on a mango tree.
ਮੈਂ ਕੋਇਲ ਬਣਾਂ, ਅੰਬ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਸਤ ਅਡੋਲ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੰਬ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਕੋਇਲ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਸਤ ਸੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੂਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
sahj subhaa-ay mayraa saho milai darsan roop apaar. ||2||
I would then, intuitively unite with my Master-God who is infinite and incomparably beautiful. ||2||
ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਵਾਂਗੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ l
ਮਛੁਲੀ ਹੋਵਾ ਜਲਿ ਬਸਾ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
machhulee hovaa jal basaa jee-a jant sabh saar.
I wish I were in love with God like a fish is in love with water and thus, I would devotedly meditate on Him, who takes care of all living beings.
ਮੈਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹੁ ਵਸੈ ਹਉ ਮਿਲਉਗੀ ਬਾਹ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
urvaar paar mayraa saho vasai ha-o mila-ugee baah pasaar. ||3||
This way, I shall unite with my all-pervading Master God with open arms like a fish that enjoys swimming around freely.||3||
ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਉਰਲੇ ਪਾਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਕੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂਗੀ l
ਨਾਗਨਿ ਹੋਵਾ ਧਰ ਵਸਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸੈ ਭਉ ਜਾਇ ॥
naagan hovaa Dhar vasaa sabad vasai bha-o jaa-ay.
O’ God, I wish I were like a snake living in the ground, with the Guru’s word residing in my heart, I shall become fearless like the snake
ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਪਣੀ ਬਣਾਂ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵੱਸੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੯॥
naanak sadaa sohaaganee jin jotee jot samaa-ay. ||4||2||19||
O’ Nanak, those soul-brides are very fortunate, who unite with the supreme soul.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ (ਸੁਰਤਿ) ਸਦਾ ਜੋਤਿ-ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੈ ਘਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥
jai ghar keerat aakhee-ai kartay kaa ho-ay beechaaro.
In that holy congregation, where God’s praises are recited and His virtues are contemplated,
ਜਿਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ
ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਸਿਵਰਹੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
tit ghar gaavhu sohilaa sivrahu sirjanhaaro. ||1||
O’ my friendsl, you too go in that holy gathering and sing Sohila (the song of His praises) and meditate on the Creator with love and devotion.
ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ, ਉਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧ।
ਤੁਮ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ॥
tum gaavhu mayray nirbha-o kaa sohilaa.
Yes, my dear friends, sing Sohila (song of His praises) of my fearless God.
ਤੂੰ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਖਸਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ (ਅਤੇ ਆਖ)
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜਾਉ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੋਹਿਲੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ha-o vaaree jaa-o jit sohilai sadaa sukh ho-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I dedicate myself to that song of His praises which brings eternal peace. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਦੇ-ਗੀਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਸਮਾਲੀਅਨਿ ਦੇਖੈਗਾ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
nit nit jee-arhay samaalee-an daykhaigaa dayvanhaar.
The great Benefactor, who has been taking care of His creation day after day, will also look after your needs.
ਜਿਸ ਖਸਮ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਨੈ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦਾਤੇ ਕਵਣੁ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
tayray daanai keemat naa pavai tis daatay kavan sumaar. ||2||
O mortal, when you cannot even assess the value of His Gifts ; then how can you assess the worth of that Benefactor? He is infinite.||2||
ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਤੂੰ ਲਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈਂ? ਉਹ ਦਾਤਾਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ
ਸੰਬਤਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਤੇਲੁ ॥
sambat saahaa likhi-aa mil kar paavhu tayl.
The time of my departure from this world is predetermined. O my friends, dress me up for departure to my Master’s home.
ਉਹ ਸੰਮਤ ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ) ਮਿਥਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਾਹੇ-ਚਿੱਠੀ ਆਉਣੀ ਹੈ)। ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਖੀਓ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਲ ਪਾਵੋ ।
ਦੇਹੁ ਸਜਣ ਆਸੀਸੜੀਆ ਜਿਉ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਲੁ ॥੩॥
dayh sajan aaseesrhee-aa ji-o hovai saahib si-o mayl. ||3||
Please give me your blessings, that I may unite with my Master-God. ||3||
ਰਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਂਈਏਂ ਪਾਓ, ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ (ਸਹੇਲੀਓ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਭੀ ਦਿਓ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਭੀ ਕਰੋ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ l
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਏਹੋ ਪਾਹੁਚਾ ਸਦੜੇ ਨਿਤ ਪਵੰਨਿ ॥
ghar ghar ayho paahuchaa sad-rhay nit pavann.
The intimations about the date and time of departure from this world are being delivered to home after home, and every day people are being summoned.
ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਹੇ-ਚਿੱਠੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸੱਦੇ ਨਿਤ ਪੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਦਣਹਾਰਾ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਦਿਹ ਆਵੰਨਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੦॥
sadanhaaraa simree-ai naanak say dih aavann. ||4||1||20||
O’ Nanak, that day for us is also drawing near, so remember God with loving devotion, the one who summons us all.||4||1||20||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਸੱਦਾ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ l

ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
gur mili-ai har maylaa ho-ee.
Union with the Guru brings union with God.
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
aapay mayl milaavai so-ee.
God Himself unites one in His union, by first uniting one with the Guru.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
mayraa parabh sabh biDh aapay jaanai.
My God Himself knows all the Ways. (of bringing about this union).
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੧॥
hukmay maylay sabad pachhaanai. ||1||
When, according to His Command, He unites the one with the Guru, then that person realizes God through the Guru’s word. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਇ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਇ ॥
satgur kai bha-ay bharam bha-o jaa-ay.
Through the revered fear of the True Guru, worldly doubt and fear are dispelled.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭੈ ਰਾਚੈ ਸਚ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhai raachai sach rang samaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By being imbued with the revered fear of the Guru, one remains merged in the love of the eternal God Himself. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
gur mili-ai har man vasai subhaa-ay.
By meeting the Guru and following his teaching, God intuitively comes to dwell within the mind.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਤੇ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭਾਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
mayraa parabh bhaaraa keemat nahee paa-ay.
My God is Great and Almighty; His worth cannot be estimated.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੈ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
sabad salaahai ant na paaraavaar.
The one who meditates and sings praises of God of the limitless virtues through the Guru’s word,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
mayraa parabh bakhsay bakhsanhaar. ||2||
my forgiving God forgives all his sins.||2||
ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸਭ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
gur mili-ai sabh mat buDh ho-ay.
On meeting the Guru, all wisdom and understanding are obtained.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
