ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਬਰਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਖਟ ਦਰਸਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ਸਿਮਰੰਥਿ ਗੁਨਾ ॥
gaavahi gun baran chaar khat darsan barahmaadik simranth gunaa.
All the four castes and all the six sects of yogis sing praises of Guru Nanak, and gods like Brahma also remembers his virtues.
ਚਾਰੇ ਵਰਣ, ਛੇ ਭੇਖ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਸੇਸੁ ਸਹਸ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਰਸ ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਿ ਧੁਨਾ ॥
gaavai gun says sahas jihbaa ras aad ant liv laag Dhunaa.
Even the legendary snake Sheshnag, with its thousand tongues and attuned mind, sings his praises with delight in a continuous melody.
ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਲਿਵ ਦੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਣਿਓ ॥
gaavai gun mahaaday-o bairaagee jin Dhi-aan nirantar jaani-o.
The detached god Mahadev (Shiva) sings praises of Guru Nanak, who has understood God by continuously focusing his mind on Him.
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ (ਭੀ) ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਬਿ ਕਲ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਉ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਾਣਿਓ ॥੫॥
kab kal sujas gaava-o gur naanak raaj jog jin maani-o. ||5||
The poet Kall says, I sing the sublime praises of Guru Nanak who has enjoyed both the worldly kingdom and spiritual sovereignties. |5||
ਕਲ੍ ਕਵੀ (ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ)-‘ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮਾਣੇ ਹਨ’ ॥੫॥
ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਮਾਣਿਓ ਬਸਿਓ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਰਿਦੰਤਰਿ ॥
raaj jog maani-o basi-o nirvair ridantar.
Guru Nanak has enjoyed both the worldly and the spiritual kingdom; God who has no enmity towards anyone is enshrined within his heart.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ ਭੀ; ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਰੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਲੇ ਤਰਿਓ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ॥
sarisat sagal uDhree naam lay tari-o nirantar.
Guru Nanak has saved himself by always lovingly remembering God’s Name, and has also saved the entire universe (by imparting his teachings).
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ) ਆਪ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਤਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਨਕਾਦਿ ਆਦਿ ਜਨਕਾਦਿ ਜੁਗਹ ਲਗਿ ॥
gun gaavahi sankaad aad jankaad jugah lag.
Sanak and the other sons of god Brahma, kings and saints like Janak have beensinging praises of Guru Nanak for many ages.
ਸਨਕ ਆਦਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ, ਜਨਕ ਆਦਿਕ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਕਈ ਜੁੱਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਧੰਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਧੰਨਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਕਯਥੁ ਭਲੌ ਜਗਿ ॥
Dhan Dhan gur Dhan janam sakyath bhalou jag.
Extremely praiseworthy is Guru Nanak, whose advent in this world is fruitful and sublime.
ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ (ਨਾਨਕ)! ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਜਨਮ ਲੈਣਾ ਸਕਾਰਥਾ ਤੇ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਤਾਲ ਪੁਰੀ ਜੈਕਾਰ ਧੁਨਿ ਕਬਿ ਜਨ ਕਲ ਵਖਾਣਿਓ ॥
paataal puree jaikaar Dhun kab jan kal vakhaani-o.
The devotee bard Kall says that glory of Guru Nanak resounds even in the nether region of the world,
ਦਾਸ ਕਲ੍ ਕਵੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਪਾਤਾਲ ਲੋਕ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਜੈ ਜੈਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਗੂੰਜਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਤੈ ਮਾਣਿਓ ॥੬॥
har naam rasik naanak gur raaj jog tai maani-o. ||6||
O’ Nanak, you are imbued with the elixir of God’s Name, and you have enjoyed both (worldly) kingdom and union with God. ||6||
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਸੀਏ ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮਾਣੇ ਹਨ ॥੬॥
ਸਤਜੁਗਿ ਤੈ ਮਾਣਿਓ ਛਲਿਓ ਬਲਿ ਬਾਵਨ ਭਾਇਓ ॥
satjug tai maani-o chhali-o bal baavan bhaa-i-o.
O’ Guru Nanak, even in Satyug, you enjoyed the worldly and spiritual kingdom; you deceived king Ball and you liked to become Baavan, God’s pigmy incarnation. (
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ!) ਸਤਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ) ਮਾਣਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਲਿ ਨੂੰ ਛਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਤਦੋਂ ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਬਣਨਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਸੀ।
ਤ੍ਰੇਤੈ ਤੈ ਮਾਣਿਓ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਘੁਵੰਸੁ ਕਹਾਇਓ ॥
taraytai tai maani-o raam raghoovans kahaa-i-o. In Treta yug,
you enjoyed the worldly kingdom and yoga (union with God), and became known as lord Raam of the Raghu dynasty.
ਤ੍ਰੇਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਰਾਜ ਤੇ ਜੋਗ) ਮਾਣਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਰਘੁਵੰਸੀ ਰਾਮ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ
ਦੁਆਪੁਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਕੰਸੁ ਕਿਰਤਾਰਥੁ ਕੀਓ ॥
du-aapur krisan muraar kans kirtaarath kee-o.
In Duappar yug, you appeared as lord Krishna, and obliged the king Kans by liberating him from his evil body.
(ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ!) ਦੁਆਪੁਰ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਮੁਰਾਰ ਭੀ (ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸੈਂ), ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਰ ਕੇ) ਮੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਉਗ੍ਰਸੈਣ ਕਉ ਰਾਜੁ ਅਭੈ ਭਗਤਹ ਜਨ ਦੀਓ ॥
ugarsain ka-o raaj abhai bhagtah jan dee-o.
You blessed Ugarsain with his kingdom, and blessed your devotees with the state of fearlessness.
(ਤੂੰ ਹੀ) ਉਗ੍ਰਸੈਣ ਨੂੰ (ਮਥੁਰਾ ਦਾ) ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ
ਕਲਿਜੁਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਕਹਾਇਓ ॥
kalijug parmaan naanak gur angad amar kahaa-i-o.
O’ Guru Nanak, in Kalyug also, you are the accepted one, and you got yourself called Guru Angad, and Guru Armadas.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕਲਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ) ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਜੁ ਅਬਿਚਲੁ ਅਟਲੁ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਓ ॥੭॥
saree guroo raaj abichal atal aad purakh furmaa-i-o. ||7||
God, the primal being, has issued this command that the sovereign kingdom of the reverend Guru Nanak is unchanging and permanent. ||7||
(ਇਹ ਤਾਂ) ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ (ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਤੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਰਵਿਦਾਸੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜੈਦੇਵ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ ॥
gun gaavai ravidaas bhagat jaidayv tarilochan.
The devotees Ravidas, Jaidev, and Tirlochan are singing praises of Guru Nanak.
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਭਗਤ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜੈਦੇਵ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਾਮਾ ਭਗਤੁ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਮ ਲੋਚਨ ॥
naamaa bhagat kabeer sadaa gaavahi sam lochan.
O’ Guru Nanak! Considering that you view all beings as equal, devotees Namdev and Kabir are singing your praises.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਕਬੀਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਵੈਰਾਗੀ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਫਤਾਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਭਗਤੁ ਬੇਣਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਆਤਮ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੈ ॥
bhagat bayn gun ravai sahj aatam rang maanai.
Devotee Baini utters praises of Guru Nanak who enjoys the bliss of union with God in a state of equipoise,
ਬੇਣੀ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ) ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
jog Dhi-aan gur gi-aan binaa parabh avar na jaanai.
and because of the wisdom blessed by the Guru, he remains focused on God and except God, he knows none other.
ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ,
ਸੁਖਦੇਉ ਪਰੀਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਗੋਤਮ ਰਿਖਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਓ ॥
sukh-day-o parteekh-yat gun ravai gotam rikh jas gaa-i-o.
The sage Sukdev and Prikhat sing praises of Guru Nanak, the sage Gautam has also sung the praises of Guru Nanak.
ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਪਰੀਖਤ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੋਤਮ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਜਸ ਗਾਂਵਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਬਿ ਕਲ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਨਿਤ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਜਗਿ ਛਾਇਓ ॥੮॥
kab kal sujas naanak gur nit navtan jag chhaa-i-o. ||8||
Poet Kall says that the sublime praise of Guru Nanak is ever fresh and pervades throughout the entire world. ||8||
ਹੇ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਵੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ (ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਦੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਿੱਤ ਨਵੀਂ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਪਾਯਾਲਿ ਭਗਤ ਨਾਗਾਦਿ ਭੁਯੰਗਮ ॥
gun gaavahi paa-yaal bhagat naagaad bhuyangam.
In the nether region of the world, many devotees in the form of SheshNag and other serpents sing praises of Guru Nanak.
ਪਾਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ (ਸ਼ੇਸ਼-) ਨਾਗ ਆਦਿਕ ਹੋਰ ਸਰਪ-ਭਗਤ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤਿ ਜੰਗਮ ॥
mahaaday-o gun ravai sadaa jogee jat jangam.
Shiva, yogis, celibates, and Jangams (wandering yogis) always sing his praises.
ਸ਼ਿਵਜੀ, ਯੋਗੀ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਮਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫਤਾਂ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਬ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਸੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਬੇਦ ਬ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਕਰਣ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਅ ॥
gun gaavai mun bayaas jin bayd ba-yaakaran beechaari-a.
The sage Vyaas who reflected on Vedas through grammar utters his praises.
ਜਿਸ (ਵਿਆਸ ਮੁਨੀ) ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਕਰਣਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਰੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਵਾਰੀਅ ॥
barahmaa gun uchrai jin hukam sabh sarisat savaaree-a.
Even god Brahma, who according to God’s command fashioned the entire world, also sings Guru Nanak’s praises.
ਜਿਸ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ) ਨੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਸਮ ਜਾਣਿਓ ॥
barahmand khand pooran barahm gun nirgun sam jaani-o.
Guru Nanak who has recognised that the same God is pervading in the entire universe as tangible and intangible,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਗੁਣ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਪੁ ਕਲ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਹਜੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਾਣਿਓ ॥੯॥
jap kal sujas naanak gur sahj jog jin maani-o. ||9||
and has enjoyed union with God in a state of equipoise: O’ Kall, lovingly chant the sublime Praises of that Guru Nanak. ||9||
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ! ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ॥੯॥
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਵ ਨਾਥ ਧੰਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ॥
gun gaavahi nav naath Dhan gur saach samaa-i-o.
Even the nine masters of yogis sing his praises and say, blessed is Guru Nanak who is merged in the eternal God.
ਨੌ ਨਾਥ (ਭੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ), “ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।”
ਮਾਂਧਾਤਾ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਜੇਨ ਚਕ੍ਰਵੈ ਕਹਾਇਓ ॥
maaNDhaataa gun ravai jayn chakarvai kahaa-i-o.
Madhanta, who called himself King Chakarvarti, also sings Guru Nanak’s praises.
ਜਿਸ ਮਾਂਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਕ੍ਰਵਰਤੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਉ ਸਪਤ ਪਾਤਾਲਿ ਬਸੰਤੌ ॥
gun gaavai bal raa-o sapat paataal basantou.
The king Ball who presumably resides in the seventh nether region of the world also sings praises of Guru Nanak.
ਸਤਵੇਂ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਲਿ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਰਥਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਰੈ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹੰਤੌ ॥
bharthar gun uchrai sadaa gur sang rahantou.
King Bharthari, abiding with his guru, also sings praises of Guru Nanak.
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਰਥਰੀ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਉੱਚਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੂਰਬਾ ਪਰੂਰਉ ਅੰਗਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਓ ॥
doorbaa paroora-o angrai gur naanak jas gaa-i-o.
Sage Dorbasa, King Puro and sage Angra sing praises of Guru Nanak.
ਦੁਰਵਾਸਾ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ, ਰਾਜਾ ਪੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਰ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਜਸ ਗਾਂਵਿਆਂ ਹੈ।
ਕਬਿ ਕਲ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ॥੧੦॥
kab kal sujas naanak gur ghat ghat sahj samaa-i-o. ||10||
O’ poet Kall, the sublime glory of Guru Nanak is intuitively present in each and every heart. ||10||
ਹੇ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਵੀ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ-ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
