ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਵੈ ॥
dayh daras man chaa-o bhagat ih man thehraavai.
and grant me with Your blessed vision; it is my yearning, that my mind may become steady in Your devotional worship.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ; ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ, (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਏ।
ਬਲਿਓ ਚਰਾਗੁ ਅੰਧ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਸਭ ਕਲਿ ਉਧਰੀ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਧਰਮ ॥
bali-o charaag anDh-yaar meh sabh kal uDhree ik naam Dharam.
(Guru Nanak), the lamp of divine knowledge has been lit in spiritual darkness, and the entire world is being saved through his teachings of faith in Naam.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ) ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੀਵਾ ਜਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ) ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਭਵਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥੯॥
pargat sagal har bhavan meh jan naanak gur paarbarahm. ||9||
O’ the supreme God! devotee Guru Nanak has come to this world as Your embodiment. ||9||
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ, ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੯॥

ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ) ਦੇ ਮੁਖਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਤੋਂ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਵਯੇ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹ ਮੋਹ ਫੁਨਿ ਬਾਂਧੀ ਸਠ ਕਠੋਰ ਕੁਚੀਲ ਕੁਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
kaachee dayh moh fun baaNDhee sath kathor kucheel kugi-aanee.
O’ God, this body of mine is perishable, furthermore it is bound by worldly bonds and on top of that I am foolish, stone hearted, filthy and unwise.
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ , ਉੱਤੋਂਇਹ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਲ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਖ, ਕਠੋਰ-ਦਿਲ, ਗੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਹਾਂ।
ਧਾਵਤ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਰਹਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵਤ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
Dhaavat bharmat rahan nahee paavat paarbarahm kee gat nahee jaanee.
I keep wandering around, my mind never remains steady and I have not understood the state of the supreme God.
ਮੈਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਮਨ) ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋਬਨ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਿਚਰਤ ਬਿਕਲ ਬਡੌ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥
joban roop maa-i-aa mad maataa bichrat bikal badou abhimaanee.
I am engrossed in the egotistical pride of youth, beauty and wealth, and totally baffled, I wander around as a most arrogant person.
ਮੈਂ ਜੁਆਨੀ, ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ l
ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਅਪਵਾਦ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਯਹ ਮੀਠੀ ਜੀਅ ਮਾਹਿ ਹਿਤਾਨੀ ॥
par Dhan par apvaad naar nindaa yeh meethee jee-a maahi hitaanee.
The wealth and women of others, to enter into strife with others and to slander others seem sweet and dear to my mind.
ਪਰਾਇਆ ਧਨ, ਪਰਾਈ ਬਖ਼ੀਲੀ, ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ-ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਬਲਬੰਚ ਛਪਿ ਕਰਤ ਉਪਾਵਾ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
balbanch chhap karat upaavaa paykhat sunat parabh antarjaamee.
I hide my plans to deceive, but O’ the omniscient God! You see and hear all.
ਮੈਂ ਲੁਕ ਲੁਕ ਕੇ ਠੱਗੀ ਦੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਸੀਲ ਧਰਮ ਦਯਾ ਸੁਚ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਨਿ ਜੀਅ ਕੇ ਦਾਨੀ ॥
seel Dharam da-yaa such naasit aa-i-o saran jee-a kay daanee.
I have no civility, righteousness, compassion, or purity, but O’ God, the giver of life! I have come to Your refuge
ਹੇ ਜੀਅ-ਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਸੀਲ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਧਰਮ; ਨਾਹ ਦਇਆ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਸੁੱਚ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਸਿਰੀਧਰ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੧॥
kaaran karan samrath sireeDhar raakh layho naanak kay su-aamee. ||1||
O’ the all-powerful creator of the universe and Master of Maya, the worldly wealth : O’ the Master of Nanak, please save me (from these evils). ||1||
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਰੱਖ ਲੈ ॥੧॥
ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਜੋਹਨ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਦਾਰਨ ਕਉ ॥
keerat karan saran manmohan johan paap bidaaran ka-o.
The sublime deeds of singing the praises and seeking the refuge of the heart captivating God, are capable of destroying the sins of human beings.
ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪੈਣਾ-(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹਨ
ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਸਮਰਥ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੁਲਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਸਉ ॥
har taaran taran samrath sabhai biDh kulah samooh uDhaaran sa-o.
God is like a ship to ferry us across the worldly ocean of vices, and is totally capable of emancipating all the generations of His devotees.
ਹਰੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਤ ਚੇਤਿ ਅਚੇਤ ਜਾਨਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਭਰਮ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਕਤ ਧਂਉ ॥
chit chayt achayt jaan satsangat bharam anDhayr mohi-o kat DhaN-u.
O’ my unaware mind, why are you wandering around enticed by the darkness of ignorance and doubts? Instead, realize God through the holy congregation and lovingly remember Him.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਗ਼ਾਫਲ ਮਨ! (ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿਮਰ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ, ਭਰਮ-ਰੂਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਠਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਤੂੰ) ਕਿੱਧਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
ਮੂਰਤ ਘਰੀ ਚਸਾ ਪਲੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਉ ॥
moorat gharee chasaa pal simran raam naam rasnaa sang la-o.
For a moment, half a moment, or even for an instant, lovingly remember God and with your tongue utter God’s Name.
ਮਹੂਰਤ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ, ਘੜੀ ਭਰ, ਚਸਾ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਜਾਂ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਹੀ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ।
ਹੋਛਉ ਕਾਜੁ ਅਲਪ ਸੁਖ ਬੰਧਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨੰਮ ਕਹਾ ਦੁਖ ਭਂਉ ॥
hochha-o kaaj alap sukh banDhan kot jannam kahaa dukh bhaN-u.
This momentary pleasure from worldly deeds is the cause of bonds; why do you want to wander through the pain of millions of births for such pleasures?
ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਥੋੜੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਸੁਖ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਫਸਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਨ; ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤਾਈਂਦੁਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰੇਂਗਾ?
ਸਿਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਾ ਸੰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਜੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਆਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਰਂਉ ॥੨॥
sikh-yaa sant naam bhaj naanak raam rang aatam si-o raN-u. ||2||
O’ Nanak, follow the advice of the saints and lovingly remember God, imbue yourself with God’s love and enjoy divine bliss within yourself. ||2||
ਤਾਂ ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ, ਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ (ਮਗਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਲੈ ॥੨॥
ਰੰਚਕ ਰੇਤ ਖੇਤ ਤਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਿਤ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਧਰੀ ॥
ranchak rayt khayt tan nirmit durlabh dayh savaar Dharee.
God sowed a little sperm as a seed in the field of mother’s womb and created the priceless human body which is so difficult to obtain.
(ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ) ਰਤਾ ਕੁ ਬੀਰਜ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ-ਰੂਪ ਖੇਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਿੰਮਿਆ ਤੇ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਅਮੋਲਕ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਸਜਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਸੋਧੇ ਸੁਖ ਭੁੰਚਤ ਸੰਕਟ ਕਾਟਿ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਹਰੀ ॥
khaan paan soDhay sukh bhuNchat sankat kaat bipat haree.
God provided you with food, drink, a nice house and all other comforts; He eradicated your sufferings and warded off any calamity.
(ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ, ਮਹਲ-ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਮਾਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ, ਸੰਕਟ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਅਰੁ ਬੰਧਪ ਬੂਝਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਸੂਝ ਪਰੀ ॥
maat pitaa bhaa-ee ar banDhap boojhan kee sabh soojh paree.
Then welled up within you, the intellect to recognize your mother, father, brother, and other relatives.
ਤਦੋਂ ਮਾਂ, ਪਿਉ, ਭਰਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਕ-ਸੈਣ-ਪਛਾਣਨ ਦੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੂਝ ਪੈ ਗਈ।
ਬਰਧਮਾਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਨਿਤ ਆਵਤ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬਿਖੰਮ ਜਰੀ ॥
baraDhmaan hovat din parat nit aavat nikat bikhamm jaree.
Now day after day your body is growing, and the dreadful old age is quickly approaching.
ਦਿਨੋ-ਦਿਨ ਸਦਾ (ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ) ਵਧ-ਫੁੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਹੀਨ ਦੀਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਮ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਏਕ ਘਰੀ ॥
ray gun heen deen maa-i-aa kiram simar su-aamee ayk gharee.
O’ despicable and virtueless worm of Maya! at least for an instant remember that Master-God (who has bestowed so many blessings on you).
ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ, ਕੰਗਲੇ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕੀੜੇ! ਇੱਕ ਘੜੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਤਨੀਆਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ)।
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਟਿ ਭਰੰਮ ਭਰੀ ॥੩॥
kar geh layho kirpaal kirpaa niDh naanak kaat bharamm bharee. ||3||
O’ Nanak! pray: O’ kind Master-God, the ocean of mercy, please extend Your support and take away this load of illusions. ||3||
ਹੇ ਦਿਆਲ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਲੈ ਤੇ ਭਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਡ ਲਾਹ ਦੇਹ ॥੩॥
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੂਸ ਬਿਲਾ ਮਹਿ ਗਰਬਤ ਕਰਤਬ ਕਰਤ ਮਹਾਂ ਮੁਘਨਾਂ ॥
ray man moos bilaa meh garbat kartab karat mahaaN mughnaaN.
O’ my mind, in your utter stupidity, you indulge in ego while abiding in this bodylike a mouse residing in a rat-hole.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਚੂਹਾ ਖੁੱਡ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਮੂਰਖਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਸੰਪਤ ਦੋਲ ਝੋਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਝੂਲਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਘੁਘਨਾ ॥
sampat dol jhol sang jhoolat maa-i-aa magan bharmat ghughnaa.
You are enjoying worldly pleasures as if you are swinging on the swing of Maya, and intoxicated with it you wander around like an owl.
(ਤੂੰ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੰਘੂੜੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੁਲਾਰੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਝੂਟ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉੱਲੂ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਟਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੁਖ ਬੰਧਪ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਢਿਓ ਸੁ ਘਨਾ ॥
sut banitaa saajan sukh banDhap taa si-o moh badhi-o so ghanaa.
Your attachment to your children, spouse, relativesand worldly pleasures is multiplying every day.
ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ, (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ) ਸੁਖ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਬਹੁਤਾ ਮੋਹ ਵਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੋਇਓ ਬੀਜੁ ਅਹੰ ਮਮ ਅੰਕੁਰੁ ਬੀਤਤ ਅਉਧ ਕਰਤ ਅਘਨਾਂ ॥
bo-i-o beej ahaN mam ankur beetat a-oDh karat aghnaaN.
You have sown the seed of ego, which has sprouted as the sense of emotional attachments, and your life is passing in committing sins.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ) ਮਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਗੂਰ (ਉੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ), ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਬੀਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਰਤੁ ਮੰਜਾਰ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਮੁਖੁ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਭੁੰਚਤ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਭੂਖ ਭੁਖਨਾ ॥
mirat manjaar pasaar mukh nirkhat bhuNchat bhugat bhookh bhukhnaa.
Even though death is looking at you like a cat looking at a mouse with its mouth wide open, you are enjoying worldly pleasures and still you are hungry due to your desires.
ਮੌਤ-ਰੂਪ ਬਿੱਲਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਖੋਹਲ ਕੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਤੱਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਤੂੰ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ-ਅਧੀਨ (ਤੂੰ) ਭੁੱਖਾ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗੁ ਜਾਨਤ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੪॥
simar gupaal da-i-aal satsangat naanak jag jaanat supnaa. ||4||
O’ Nanak, deem this world to be a dream, and lovingly remember God, the merciful master of the universe, in the holy congregation. ||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਫ਼ਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ॥੪॥
