ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਅਚੁਤ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਾਰਣਹ ॥੧੪॥
pareetam bhagvaan achut. naanak sansaar saagar taarnah. ||14||
O’ Nanak, (the remembrance of) the beloved eternal God, ferries one across the worldly ocean of vices. ||14||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਿਆਰੇ ਅਵਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
ਮਰਣੰ ਬਿਸਰਣੰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਹ ॥
marnaN bisranaN gobindah.
To forsake God, is spiritual deterioration,
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਸਾਰਨਾ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਮੌਤ ਹੈ,
ਜੀਵਣੰ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਧੵਾਵਣਹ ॥
jeevanaN har naam Dha-yaavaneh.
and to remember God’s Name with adoration is becoming spiritually alive.
ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣਾ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਜੀਵਨ ਹੈ।
ਲਭਣੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਣਹ ॥੧੫॥
labh-naN saaDh sangayn. naanak har poorab likh-neh. ||15||
O’ Nanak, the opportunity to remember God in the company of saints is received according to preordained destiny. ||15||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
ਦਸਨ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਭੁਯੰਗੰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਗਾਰੁੜੀ ਨਿਵਾਰੰ ॥
dasan bihoon bhu-yaaNgaN mantraN gaarurhee nivaaraN.
Just as a snake-charmer renders a snake’s fangs and its poison ineffective by the garurh mantra, a kind of spell,
(ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਗਰੁੜ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੰਦ-ਹੀਣ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਸੱਪ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਨੂੰ) ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਬੵਾਧਿ ਉਪਾੜਣ ਸੰਤੰ ॥
bayaaDh upaarhan santaN.
similarly, the Guru eradicates millions of spiritual ailments.
(ਤਿਵੇਂ) ਗੁਰੂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ) ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਲਬਧ ਕਰਮਣਹ ॥੧੬॥
naanak labaDh karamneh. ||16||
O’ Nanak, the company of the Guru is received only by good fortune. ||16||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ) ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥
ਜਥ ਕਥ ਰਮਣੰ ਸਰਣੰ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਅਣਹ ॥
jath kath ramnaN sarnaN sarbatar jee-anah.
God is pervading everywhere and provides refuge to all the beings,
ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਥ ਲਗਣੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਨਕ ॥
tath lagnaN paraym naanak. but:
O’ Nanak, love with Him wells up only,
ਉਸ ਵਿਚ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜੀਵ ਦਾ) ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪਰਸਾਦੰ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨਹ ॥੧੭॥
parsaadaN gur darasneh. ||17||
by the Guru’s grace and by following his teachings. ||17||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ॥੧੭॥
ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਮਨ ਬਿਧੵੰ॥
charnaarbind man biDh-yaN.
One whose mind is pierced by (focused on) the immaculate Name of God,
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਿਧੵੰ ਸਰਬ ਕੁਸਲਣਹ ॥
siDh-yaN sarab kusalneh.
is blessed with all kinds of joys.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਾਥਾ ਗਾਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਬੵੰ ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਣਹ ॥੧੮॥
gaathaa gavant naanak bhab-yaN paraa poorabneh. ||18||
O’ Nanak, only those people sing God’s praises who have such preordained destiny. ||18||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੮॥
ਸੁਭ ਬਚਨ ਰਮਣੰ ਗਵਣੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣ ਉਧਰਣਹ ॥
subh bachan ramnaN gavnaN saaDh sangayn uDharneh.
Those people who join the holy congregation and sing God’s praises, are emancipated (liberated from the vices).
(ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਉੱਧਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਲਭੵਤੇ ॥੧੯॥
sansaar saagraN naanak punrap janam na labh-yatai. ||19||
O’ Nanak, these people do not have to take birth again and again in this worldly ocean of vices. ||19||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥੧੯॥
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੀਚਾਰੰ ॥
bayd puraan saastar beechaaraN.
One who reflects on the holy books like Vedas, Puranas, and Shastras:
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਏਕੰਕਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
aykankaar naam ur DhaaraN.
and enshrines in his mind the Name of one and only one God:
ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ:
ਕੁਲਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੰ ॥ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਤਾਰੰ ॥੨੦॥
kulah samooh sagal uDhaaraN. badbhaagee naanak ko taaraN. ||20||
O’ Nanak, that fortunate person along with himself ferries his all generations across the world ocean of vices. ||20||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਕੋਈ (ਵਿਰਲਾ) ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਪ ਵੀ) ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਵੀ) ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੨੦॥
ਸਿਮਰਣੰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮੰ ਉਧਰਣੰ ਕੁਲ ਸਮੂਹਣਹ ॥
simarnaN gobind naamaN uDharnaN kul samoohneh.
All the generations of a person are emancipated by remembering God’s Name.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਧਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਲਬਧਿਅੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਭੇਟੰਤਿ ਦਰਸਨਹ ॥੨੧॥
labDhi-aN saaDh sangayn naanak vadbhaagee bhaytant darasneh. ||21||
O’ Nanak, God is realized in the holy congregation and only fortunate persons get the chance to have the blessed vision of the holy congregation. ||21||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਵਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ (ਬੰਦੇ) ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੧॥
ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਪਰੰਤਿਆਗੀ ਸਰਬ ਧਰਮ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੰਤਣਃ ॥
sarab dokh paraNtiaagee sarab Dharam darirh-aaNtanh.
To completely forsake all the vices and to firmly acquire the righteousness,
ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਟਿਕਾਣਾ,
ਲਬਧੇਣਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗੇਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖੵਣਃ ॥੨੨॥
labh-Dhayn saaDh sangayn naanak mastak likh-yan-a. ||22||
is attained in the holy congregation: O’ Nanak, this opportunity is blessed to the one with the good preordained destiny. ||22||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ) ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਚੰਗਾ) ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨੨॥
ਹੋਯੋ ਹੈ ਹੋਵੰਤੋ ਹਰਣ ਭਰਣ ਸੰਪੂਰਣਃ ॥
hoyo hai hovanto haran bharan sampooran-a.
God who was, is, and shall ever be present; who is the destroyer and sustainer of all:
ਜੋ ਹਰੀ ਭੂਤ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਭਵਿੱਖਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ;
ਸਾਧੂ ਸਤਮ ਜਾਣੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਾਰਣੰ ॥੨੩॥
saaDhoo satam jaano naanak pareet kaarnaN. ||23||
O’ Nanak, truly deem only the true Guru as the main reason for falling in love with Him. ||23||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਮਝੋ ॥੨੩॥
ਸੁਖੇਣ ਬੈਣ ਰਤਨੰ ਰਚਨੰ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਰੰਗਣਃ ॥
sukhayn bain ratanaN rachanaN kasumbh raNgan-a.
Those who remain absorbed in the short lived colors of safflowers-like worldly pleasures and beautiful words related to Maya,
ਜਿਹੜੇਜੀਵ (ਮਾਇਆ-) ਕਸੁੰਭੇ ਦੇ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ) ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਓਗੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਸੁਪਨਹ ॥੨੪॥
rog sog biogaN naanak sukh na supnah. ||24||
are afflicted with disease, sorrow, and pangs of separation: O’ Nanak, they cannot have inner peace even in the dream. ||24||
ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਗ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ (ਹੀ ਵਿਆਪਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ॥੨੪॥

Phunhay, Fifth Guru:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਾਥਿ ਕਲੰਮ ਅਗੰਮ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖਾਵਤੀ ॥
haath kalamm agamm mastak laykhaavatee.
O’ inaccessible God, it feels as if you have a pen in Your hand which keeps on writing the destiny of the beings on their foreheads.
ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਮ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪਾਵਤੀ ॥
urajh rahi-o sabh sang anoop roopaavatee.
O’ God of unparalleled beauty, You are involved with all the beings.
ਹੇ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੇ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ।
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ॥
ustat kahan na jaa-ay mukhahu tuhaaree-aa.
No one can completely describe Your glory with his mouth.
ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਮੋਹੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
mohee daykh daras naanak balihaaree-aa. ||1||
O’ Nanak!, I have been enchanted by Your blessed vision and I am dedicated to You. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ,, ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਕਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਮੈ ਕਹਾਂ ॥
sant sabhaa meh bais ke keerat mai kahaaN.
I wish that I may join the holy congregation, and may sing praises of God,
( ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਹਿਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਅਰਪੀ ਸਭੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਏਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਸਭੁ ਦਿਵਾ ॥
arpee sabh seegaar ayhu jee-o sabh divaa.
and offer all my possessions, and surrender this entire life of mine to Him.
ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਭੀ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ।
ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁ ਕੰਤਿ ਵਿਛਾਈਐ ॥
aas pi-aasee sayj so kant vichhaa-ee-ai.
One who has the yearning for the blessed vision of the Master-God, He Himself has prepared that person’s heart to realize Him.
ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਵਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਸੇਜ ਕੰਤ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਆਪ) ਵਿਛਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਤ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
harihaaN mastak hovai bhaag ta saajan paa-ee-ai. ||2||
O’ my friend, we realize our beloved God only if we are pre-ordained with good fortune. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਖੀ ਕਾਜਲ ਹਾਰ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਸਭੈ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥
sakhee kaajal haar tambol sabhai kichh saaji-aa.
O’ my friend, I have embellished myself like a bride embellishes with everything including eye shadow, necklace, and betel-leaf,
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੈਂ ਸੁਰਮਾ, ਫੁਲ ਮਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਨ ਬੀੜਾ ਸਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਲਹ ਕੀਏ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕਿ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਜਿਆ ॥
solah kee-ay seegaar ke anjan paaji-aa.
and adorns herself with all the sixteen kinds of ornaments and applies mascara to the eyes,
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਲਾ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਰ-ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਜਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਜੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਕੰਤੁ ਤ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
jay ghar aavai kant ta sabh kichh paa-ee-ai.
but if the Master-God manifests in the heart only then we feel as if we have received everything.
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਖਸਮ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਕੰਤੈ ਬਾਝੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
harihaaN kantai baajh seegaar sabh birthaa jaa-ee-ai. ||3||
O’ friend, without the master-God, all the adornments are useless. ||3||
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਖਸਮ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ | ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਕੰਤੁ ਸਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਣੇ ॥
jis ghar vasi-aa kant saa vadbhaagnay.
Very fortunate is that person, in whose heart has manifested the Master-God.
ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ- ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਣਿਆ ਹਭੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਸਾਈ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੇ ॥
tis bani-aa habh seegaar saa-ee sohaagnay.
All embellishments befit that person and he is truly fortunate.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਬ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ)।
ਹਉ ਸੁਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਮਨਿ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈਆ ॥
ha-o sutee ho-ay achint man aas puraa-ee-aa.
My mind’s desire to realize God has been fulfilled, all my anxiety is gone and now I am absorbed in His Name.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ , ।
ਹਰਿਹਾਂ ਜਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਕੰਤੁ ਤ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਆ ॥੪॥
harihaaN jaa ghar aa-i-aa kant ta sabh kichh paa-ee-aa. ||4||
O’ my friend, every desire is fulfilled only when the Master-God manifests in the heart. ||4||
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਜਦੋਂ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-) ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਮੰਗ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
