ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਦੋਊ ਭਏ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਜਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਕ ॥੧॥
gaavat sunat do-oo bha-ay muktay jinaa gurmukh khin har peek. ||1||
Both the singers and the listeners of God’s praises, who partook the elixir of God’s Name even for an instant, got liberated from the vices. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਲਈ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਰਸ ਪੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਏ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸੁ ਟੀਕ ॥
mayrai man har har raam naam ras teek.
The sublime elixir of God’s Name is enshrined within my mind.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੀਤਲ ਜਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੀਆ ਰਸੁ ਝੀਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gurmukh naam seetal jal paa-i-aa har har naam pee-aa ras jheek. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who, through the Guru, has received the nectar of Naam which cools one spiritually; he has partaken the elixir of God’s Name in gulps. ||1||Pause||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਠੰਢ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਡੀਕ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਪੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਊਜਲ ਟੀਕ ॥
jin har hirdai pareet lagaanee tinaa mastak oojal teek.
Those in whose hearts the Guru has instilled love of God, have attained such honor as if their forehead has been anointed with a shining mark.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਸੋਭਾ ਦਾ) ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਵਿਚਿ ਉਡਵਾ ਸਸਿ ਕੀਕ ॥੨॥
har jan sobhaa sabh jag oopar ji-o vich udvaa sas keek. ||2||
Yes, the glory of God’s devotees spreads all over the world, just as the moon stands out among the stars. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਖਿਲਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ; ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਫੀਕ ॥
jin har hirdai naam na vasi-o tin sabh kaaraj feek.
Those, in whose heart is not enshrined God’s Name, all their tasks have no fruitful outcome as if they are insipid.
ਪਰ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਫਿੱਕੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੱਖਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ),
ਜੈਸੇ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਦੇਹ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਕਟੇ ਨਕ ਕੀਕ ॥੩॥
jaisay seegaar karai dayh maanukh naam binaa naktay nak keek. ||3||
Even when a noseless person decorate himself, he still looks ugly, similarly without God’s Name people look disgraced like with a nose cut off. ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਕੋਈ ਨਕ-ਵੱਢਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਨੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਕਿਸ ਅਰਥ? ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਕ-ਵੱਢੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਸਭ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਈਕ ॥
ghat ghat rama-ee-aa ramat raam raa-ay sabh vartai sabh meh eek.
The all pervading God is present in every heart, yes He alone pervades in the entire world and in all beings,
(ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ,
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਘਰੀ ਮੀਕ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan naanak ka-o har kirpaa Dhaaree gur bachan Dhi-aa-i-o gharee meek. ||4||3||
but only when God bestowed mercy on devotee Nanak, following the Guru’s word, he started lovingly remembering God each and every moment. ||4||3||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਘੜੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥

Raag Prabhati,Fourth Guru:
ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮ ਕਹੇ ॥
agam da-i-aal kirpaa parabh Dhaaree mukh har har naam ham kahay.
When the incomprehensible and merciful God bestowed mercy, only then we repeatedly uttered His Name.
ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜਦੋਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ।
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਲਹੇ ॥੧॥
patit paavan har naam Dhi-aa-i-o sabh kilbikh paap lahay. ||1||
Those who lovingly remembered God, the purifier of sinners, all their sins got eradicated. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੧॥
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ॥
jap man raam naam rav rahay.
O’ my mind, lovingly remember the Name of that God who pervades all.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਲਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
deen da-i-aal dukh bhanjan gaa-i-o gurmat naam padaarath lahay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who has sung the praises of God, the merciful master of the meek and thedestroyer of sorrows, has realized God’s precious Name through the Guru’s teachings. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁ-ਮੁੱਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰਿ ਨਗਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਓ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਹੇ ॥
kaa-i-aa nagar nagar har basi-o mat gurmat har har sahay.
The human body is like a township and in this township-like body resides God, but faith in this concept develops only through the Guru’s teachings.
(ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ-ਸ਼ਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਰੀਰਿ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹੇ ॥੨॥
sareer sarovar naam har pargati-o ghar mandar har parabh lahay. ||2||
That person in whose body manifests God’s Name, he realizes Him in his heart, the temple of God. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜੋ ਨਰ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਉਦਿਆਨੇ ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਹੇ ॥
jo nar bharam bharam udi-aanay tay saakat moorh muhay.
Those human beings, who keep wandering aimlessly in the forests are the faithless cynics, and these fools end up getting cheated of their virtues;
ਪਰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ) ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ (ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ) ਲੁਟਾ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨਾਭਿ ਬਸੈ ਬਾਸੁ ਬਸਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਝਾਰ ਗਹੇ ॥੩॥
ji-o marig naabh basai baas basnaa bharam bharmi-o jhaar gahay. ||3||
they are like that deer who keeps running in doubt searching bush after bush for the scent of musk which is present in its own navel. ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਸਤੂਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ (ਤਾਂ) ਹਿਰਨ ਦੀ ਧੁੰਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ (ਬਾਹਰ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਸੁੰਘਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਹੇ ॥
tum vad agam agaaDh boDh parabh mat dayvhu har parabh lahay.
O’ God, You are great and inaccessible, Your knowledge is unfathomable: O’ God, if You bestow wisdom only then people can realize You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਤੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈ।। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੀਵ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੪॥
jan naanak ka-o gur haath sir Dhari-o har raam naam rav rahay. ||4||4||
The Guru has blessed devotee Nanak and now he remains absorbed in God’s Name. ||4||4||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿਹਰ-ਭਰਿਆ ਹੱਥ ਸੇਵਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥

ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਡਫਾ ॥
man laagee pareet raam naam har har japi-o har parabh vadfaa.
The love for God’s Name welled up in the mind of that person who started lovingly remembering the supreme God,
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਸ,ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਖਾਨੇ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਫਾ ॥੧॥
satgur bachan sukhaanay hee-arai har Dhaaree har parabh kirpfaa. ||1||
the Guru’s divine word became pleasing in his heart when God bestowed mercy upon him. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਫਾ ॥
mayray man bhaj raam naam har nimkhafaa.
O’ my mind, remember God’s Name with adoration at every moment.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਰ ਨਿਮਖ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਸਫਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har daan dee-o gur poorai har naamaa man tan basfaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
That person whom the perfect Guru blessed the gift of God’s Name, the Name of God got enshrined in his mind. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰਿ ਵਸਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰਪਫਾ ॥
kaa-i-aa nagar vasi-o ghar mandar jap sobhaa gurmukh karpafaa.
Within the township of the body, in the temple of heart, resides God, but only Guru’s followers lovingly remember Him and sing His praises.
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ, ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ, ਸਰੀਰ-ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਰਫਾ ॥੨॥
halat palat jan bha-ay suhaylay mukh oojal gurmukh tarfaa. ||2||
God’s devotees enjoy inner peace and honor both here and hereafter; they swim across the world-ocean of vices by following the Guru’s teachings. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਅਨਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਫਾ ॥
anbha-o har har har liv laagee har ur Dhaari-o gur nimkhafaa.
Through the Guru’s teachings, one who has focused his mind on the fear free God and has enshrined Him in his heart even for a moment,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੇ ਦੋਖ ਸਭ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਇਕ ਪਲਫਾ ॥੩॥
kot kot kay dokh sabh jan kay har door kee-ay ik palfaa. ||3||
God dispelled the sins of millions of births of that devotee in an instant. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੩॥
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਜਨ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਜਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਖਫਾ ॥
tumray jan tum hee tay jaanay parabh jaani-o jan tay mukhfaa.
O’ God! Your devotees are known only through You: O’ God, those devotees who have realized You, become honorable amongst other human beings.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ, ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਕਫਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
har har aap Dhari-o har jan meh jan naanak har parabh ikfaa. ||4||5||
God has placed Himself within His devotees, that is why devotee Nanak and God are one and the same. ||4||5||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਹੀਏਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥
