Fourth Mehl:
ਅਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਕਸਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਿਖੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ॥
akhee paraym kasaa-ee-aa har har naam pikhaNniH.
Only those people behold (the power of) God’s Name everywhere, whose eyes are enchanted with His love,
ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇਮ ਨੇ ਖਿੱਚ ਪਾਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।
ਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਢਿ ਦਿਚੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ॥੨॥
jay kar doojaa daykh-day jan naanak kadh dichaNniH. ||2||
O’ devotee Nanak, those who see anyone other than God, are thrown out of God’s presence. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰੱਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥

Pauree:
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਨੋ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
jal thal mahee-al poorno aprampar so-ee.
That limitless God pervades the water, the land, and the sky.
ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਹੀ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਦਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
jee-a jant partipaaldaa jo karay so ho-ee.
God sustains all the beings and whatever He does, only that happens.
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਮੀਤ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥
maat pitaa sut bharaat meet tis bin nahee ko-ee.
Other than God, there is no mother, father, son, brother, and friend who remains with us forever.
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਭਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਪਿਅਹੁ ਜਨ ਕੋਈ ॥1
ghat ghat antar rav rahi-aa japi-ahu jan ko-ee.
O’ the saints, if anyone lovingly remembers God, he would realize that God is present in each and everybody.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋਂ! ਕੋਈ ਧਿਰ ਭੀ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ (ਸਭ ਦੇ) ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਜਪਹੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੁਨ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਲੋਈ ॥੧੩॥
sagal japahu gopaal gun pargat sabh lo-eee. ||13||
Therefore, all of you should reflect on the virtues of God who is clearly manifest in the entire universe. ||13||
ਸਾਰੇ ਉਸ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਤੱਖ (ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ) ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥

Shalok, Fourth Guru:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਿ ਸਜਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
gurmukh milay se sajnaa har parabh paa-i-aa rang.
Those who follow the Guru’s teachings and remember God, they receive His love and live a righteous life.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਚੰਗੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਲੁਡਿ ਲੁਡਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਵੰਞੁ ॥੧॥
jan naanak naam salaahi too lud lud dargahi vanj. ||1||
O’ devotee Nanak, you should praise God and happily go to His presence. ||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਸਦਾ) ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਾਇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥

Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਤੂਹੈ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਭਸ ਦਾ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥
har toohai daataa sabhas daa sabh jee-a tumHaaray.
O’ God, only You are the benefactor of all beings, and all beings are Yours.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ) ਹਨ।
ਸਭਿ ਤੁਧੈ ਨੋ ਆਰਾਧਦੇ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
sabh tuDhai no aaraaDhaday daan deh pi-aaray.
O’ Beloved God, all beings remember You with adoration and You, and only You bless them with gifts.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤੈ ਦਾਤਾਰਿ ਹਥੁ ਕਢਿਆ ਮੀਹੁ ਵੁਠਾ ਸੈਸਾਰੇ ॥
har daatai daataar hath kadhi-aa meehu vuthaa saisaaray.
When God, the benefactor, extended His grace, then the Guru’s teachings poured like rain in the world.
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤੇ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ) ਹੱਥ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ) ਮੀਂਹ ਵੱਸਿਆ।
ਅੰਨੁ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਖੇਤੀ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥
ann jammi-aa khaytee bhaa-o kar har naam samHaaray.
One who follows the Guru’s teachings, the crop of God’s love grows in his mind and he enshrines God’s Name within his heart.
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ (-ਰੂਪ) ਵਾਹੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-) ਫ਼ਸਲ ਉੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
jan naanak mangai daan parabh har naam aDhaaray. ||2||
O’ God! Your devotee Nanak begs for the gift of Your Name so that it becomes the support of his life.||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਖੈਰ (ਤੈਥੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ (ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ (ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ) ॥੨॥
ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:
ਇਛਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀਐ ਜਪੀਐ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ॥
ichhaa man kee pooree-ai japee-ai sukh saagar.
We should lovingly remember God, the ocean of inner peace, all the desires of the mind are fulfilled by remembering God.
ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਅਰਾਧੀਅਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤਨਾਗਰੁ ॥
har kay charan araaDhee-ah gur sabad ratnaagar.
Through the Guru’s divine word, we should lovingly remember the Name of God, the source of precious divine virtues.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਫਾਟੈ ਜਮ ਕਾਗਰੁ ॥
mil saaDhoo sang uDhaar ho-ay faatai jam kaagar.
By joining the Guru’s congregation, the righteous judge’s record of one’s sins is destroyed and he swims across the world ocean of vices.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦਾ (ਲੇਖੇ ਵਾਲਾ) ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਪਾਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤੀਐ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੈਰਾਗਰੁ ॥
janam padaarath jeetee-ai jap har bairaagar.
The purpose of precious human life is achieved by lovingly remembering God who is detached from everything.
ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਿ ਪਵਹੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੁਖ ਦਾਗਰੁ ॥੧੪॥
sabh pavahu saran satguroo kee binsai dukh daagar. ||14||
Therefore, all of you should seek the shelter of the true Guru, even the trace of sorrows in life is totally erased. ||14||
ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹੋ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੀ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੪ ॥

Shalok, Fourth Guru:
ਹਉ ਢੂੰਢੇਂਦੀ ਸਜਣਾ ਸਜਣੁ ਮੈਡੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
ha-o dhooNdhayNdee sajnaa sajan maidai naal.
I have been searching for my beloved God outside, but He has been here within me, all along.
ਮੈਂ ਸੱਜਣ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੂੰ (ਬਾਹਰ) ਢੂੰਢ ਰਹੀ ਸਾਂ (ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਮਝ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ) ਸੱਜਣ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾਂ) ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
jan naanak alakh na lakhee-ai gurmukh deh dikhaal. ||1||
O’ devotee Nanak, we cannot comprehend that indescribable God, but the Guru’s teachings help us visualize Him. ||1|
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਲੱਖ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥

Fourth Guru:
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਈ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਚੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
naanak pareet laa-ee tin sachai tis bin rahan na jaa-ee.
O’ Nanak, whom the eternal God has imbued with his love, that person cannot live without remembering Him.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਪਿਆਰ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਉਸ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਈ ॥੨॥
satgur milai ta pooraa paa-ee-ai har ras rasan rasaa-ee. ||2||
When true Guru is met, then one realizes the perfect God by imbuing one’s tongue with the elixir of God’s Name. ||2||
ਜਦ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਭ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:
ਕੋਈ ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਸੁਣੈ ਕੋ ਉਚਰਿ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥
ko-ee gaavai ko sunai ko uchar sunaavai.
One who sings, listens to, or recites to others, the praises of God,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ) ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਮਲੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
janam janam kee mal utrai man chindi-aa paavai.
the dirt of sins of his many births is washed off and he receives the fruit of his mind’s desires.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਮੇਟੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
aavan jaanaa maytee-ai har kay gun gaavai.
One who sings the praises of God, his cycle of birth and death ends.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਿ ਤਰਹਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਤਰਾਹਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥
aap tareh sangee taraahi sabh kutamb taraavai.
Those who sing praises of God, swim across this world-ocean of vices along with his spiritual companions and their entire family as well.
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਆਪ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧੫॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ ॥
jan naanak tis balihaarnai jo mayray har parabh bhaavai. ||15||1|| suDh.
Devotee Nanak is dedicated to that person who is pleasing to my God. ||15||1|| Sudh||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥੧॥ਸੁਧੁ ॥

Raag Kaanraa, the hymns of Namdev Jee:
ਰਾਗ ਕਾਨੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਸੋ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
aiso raam raa-ay antarjaamee.
God, the sovereign king, is such that he is dwelling within everyone,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਦਰਪਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਬਦਨ ਪਰਵਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaisay darpan maahi badan parvaanee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
in spite of this He is detached from everyone, just as the image of a person in the mirror is detached from the person looking at the mirror. ||1||Pause||
(ਪਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਭੀ ਇਉਂ) ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ (ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ) ਮੂੰਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਸੈ ਘਟਾ ਘਟ ਲੀਪ ਨ ਛੀਪੈ ॥
basai ghataa ghat leep na chheepai.
God resides in each and every heart, but is not affected by worldly blemishes.
ਉਹ ਸੁੱਧ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹਰੇਕ ਘਟ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਦਾਗ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ,
ਬੰਧਨ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਜਾਤੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ॥੧॥
banDhan muktaa jaat na deesai. ||1||
He is free from bonds of Maya and is never seen caught in any bonds. ||1||
ਉਹ (ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਉਹ (ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ) ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਨੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਜੈਸਾ ॥
paanee maahi daykh mukh jaisaa.
Just as one sees his reflection in water without getting wet,
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋ, (ਮੂੰਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ),
ਨਾਮੇ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਐਸਾ ॥੨॥੧॥
naamay ko su-aamee beethal aisaa. ||2||1||
similarly Namdev’s master-God pervade this world, without being affected by it. ||2||1||
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮਾ) ਬੀਠਲ (ਆਖਦਾ) ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥
