ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੀਤਿਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
janam padaarath gurmukh jeeti-aa bahur na joo-ai haar. ||1||
The Guru’s follower makes this precious human life successful against the vices, and does not lose the game of life any more. ||1||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਇਸ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਏ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
aath pahar parabh kay gun gaavah pooran sabad beechaar.
O’ my friends, let us all together sing God’s praises at all times by reflecting on the Guru’s divine word.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਓ, ਰਲ ਕੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੮੯॥੧੧੨॥
naanak daasan daas jan tayraa punah punah namaskaar. ||2||89||112||
O’ God! Your devotee Nanak is a servant of Your devotees and bows again and again in reverence to You. ||2||89||112||

ਪੋਥੀ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕਾ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
pothee parmaysar kaa thaan.
O’ my friends, the Divine word (Guru Granth Sahib) is the abode of the intangible form of the supreme God.
ਇਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਸਤਕ, (ਆਦਿ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ) ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDhsang gaavahi gun gobind pooran barahm gi-aan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who sing God’s praises in the company of the Guru, attain perfect divine knowledge. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸਗਲ ਮੁਨਿ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਲਾਗੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
saaDhik siDh sagal mun locheh birlay laagai Dhi-aan.
The seekers, adepts, and all the ascetics have been longing for union with God, but only a rare one’s mind focuses on Him with full concentration.
ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ, ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ-ਮੁਨੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
jisahi kirpaal ho-ay mayraa su-aamee pooran taa ko kaam. ||1||
The person on whom my Master-God becomes merciful, his desire for union with God is fulfilled. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਇਹ) ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥
jaa kai ridai vasai bhai bhanjan tis jaanai sagal jahaan.
That person in whose heart manifests God, the destroyer of fears, he becomes renowned in the entire world.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੨॥੯੦॥੧੧੩॥
khin pal bisar nahee mayray kartay ih naanak maaNgai daan. ||2||90||113||
Nanak begs for this gift: O’ my Creator-God! let me not forget You even for an instant or a moment. ||2||90||113||
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਵਿਸਰ ॥੨॥੯੦॥੧੧੩॥

Raag Sarang, Fifth Guru
ਵੂਠਾ ਸਰਬ ਥਾਈ ਮੇਹੁ ॥
voothaa sarab thaa-ee mayhu.
O’ brother, the rain of Divine bliss has fallen in each and every heart,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ (ਸਭ ਹਿਰਦਿਆ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਸਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਨੇਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anad mangal gaa-o har jas pooran pargati-o nayhu. ||1|| rahaa-o.
therefore, sing joyous songs of God’s praises because the all pervading God’s love has manifested in the heart. ||1||Pause||
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲਮਈ ਜਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਜਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਊਨ ਥਾਉ ਨ ਕੇਹੁ ॥
chaar kunt dah dis jal niDh oon thaa-o na kayhu.
God, the treasure of life giving-water, is pervading all the four corners and ten directions (everywhere) and no place is without Him.
(ਜੀਵਨ-) ਜਲ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਕੂਟਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਥਾਂ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਭ ਦੇਹੁ ॥੧॥
kirpaa niDh gobind pooran jee-a daan sabh dayh. ||1||
The treasure of mercy, the all pervading God, blesses all beings with the gift of life. ||1||
ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ , ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ- ਦਾਤ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇਹੁ ॥
sat sat har sat su-aamee sat saaDhsangayhu.
God is ever eternal and everlasting is the holy congregation.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਭੀ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਚਲੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਉਪਜੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹ ਭਰਮੇਹੁ ॥੨॥੯੧॥੧੧੪॥
sat tay jan jin parteet upjee naanak nah bharmayhu. ||2||91||114||
O’ Nanak, within whom wells up faith for God, they become immortal and not wander in various reincarnations. ||2||91||114||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਭੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੨॥੯੧॥੧੧੪॥

ਗੋਬਿਦ ਜੀਉ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
gobid jee-o too mayray paraan aDhaar.
O’ God, You are the support of my life,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਸਾਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੋ ਪਰਵਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saajan meet sahaa-ee tum hee too mayro parvaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You are my companion, friend, supporter and You are my family. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੱਜਣ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
kar mastak Dhaari-o mayrai maathai saaDhsang gun gaa-ay.
O’ God, when You bestowed Your grace upon me, only then I sang Your praises in the company of saints.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰ੍ਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੧॥
tumree kirpaa tay sabh fal paa-ay rasak raam naam Dhi-aa-ay. ||1||
O’ God, by Your mercy I have attained all the fruits of my desire and I have lovingly remembered Your Name. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ ਧਰਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਡੋਲਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
abichal neev Dharaa-ee satgur kabhoo dolat naahee.
Those human beings in whose heart the true Guru has laid the unshakable foundation of remembering God, never waver for the love for materialism.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਅਟੱਲ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ) ਡੋਲਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਂਹੀ ॥੨॥੯੨॥੧੧੫॥
gur naanak jab bha-ay da-i-aaraa sarab sukhaa niDh paaNhee. ||2||92||115||
O’ Nanak, when the true Guru becomes merciful, those human beings realize God, the treasure of all comforts and inner peace. ||2||92||115||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੯੨॥੧੧੫॥

ਨਿਬਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਸਚੁ ਖੇਪ ॥
nibhee naam kee sach khayp.
That trader of Naam with whom the merchandise of Naam stays forever,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਦਾ ਲੱਦਿਆ ਮਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਲਾਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਨਿਧਿ ਧਨੁ ਬਿਖੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਅਲੇਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
laabh har gun gaa-ay niDh Dhan bikhai maahi alayp. ||1|| rahaa-o.
he sings the praises of God and earns the profit of Naam, the treasure of true wealth, and remains detached from the love for Maya.||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਵਣਜਾਰਾ (ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਖੱਟੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਇਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਧਨ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਵਣਜਾਰਾ (ਮਾਇਕ) ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਆਪਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
jee-a jant sagal santokhay aapnaa parabh Dhi-aa-ay.
All human beings attain a life of contentment by lovingly remembering God.
ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਵਾਲਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਤਿਓ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
ratan janam apaar jeeti-o bahurh jon na paa-ay. ||1||
One who has saved this infinitely precious human life from the revages of worldly vices, is not consigned to reincarnations ever again. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਭਇਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
bha-ay kirpaal da-i-aal gobid bha-i-aa saaDhoo sang.
The person on whom God bestows mercy, he attains union with the Guru.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਰਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਈ ਲਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੨॥੯੩॥੧੧੬॥
har charan raas naanak paa-ee lagaa parabh si-o rang. ||2||93||116||
O’ Nanak, such a person receives the wealth of God’s immaculate Name, and he is imbued with His love. ||2||93||116||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਪੁੂੰਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੯੩॥੧੧੬॥

ਮਾਈ ਰੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਰਹੀ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
maa-ee ree paykh rahee bismaad.
O’ my mother, I am wonderstruck on seeing God’s miraculous worldly plays,
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਮਾਂ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੌਤਕ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਅਚਰਜ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anhad Dhunee mayraa man mohi-o achraj taa kay savaad. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The non-stop melody of His Name has captivated my mind and its blissful effects are also astonishing. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਧੁਨੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਧੁਨੀ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਭੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਅਹਿਲਾਦ ॥
maat pitaa banDhap hai so-ee man har ko ahilaad.
God is the mother, the father, and the kinsman of all human beings, and I am in ecstasy at the thought of union with Him.
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਹੈ। (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦਾ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਪਰਮਾਦ ॥੧॥
saaDhsang gaa-ay gun gobind binsi-o sabh parmaad. ||1||
One who has sung songs of His praises in the company of holy persons, all his delusions are dispelled.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਭਰਮ-ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਡੋਰੀ ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹੀ ਚਰਨਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਖਾਦ ॥
doree lapat rahee charnah sang bharam bhai saglay khaad.
One whose mind remains attuned to God’s immaculate Name, all his delusions and fears are dispelled.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਡੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕੀਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਦ ॥੨॥੯੪॥੧੧੭॥
ayk aDhaar naanak jan kee-aa bahur na jon bharmaad. ||2||94||117||
O’ Nanak, those devotees who have made God as the support of their life, do not wander in reincarnations ever again. ||2||94||117||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦੇ ॥੨॥੯੪॥੧੧੭॥
