ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੩॥੧॥
naaraa-in suparsan ho-ay ta sayvak naamaa. ||3||1||
O’ Namdev, he alone is a true devotee upon whom God is pleased. ||3||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ! ਭਗਤ ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਪਏ ॥੩॥੧॥
ਲੋਭ ਲਹਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਝਰ ਬਾਜੈ ॥
lobh lahar at neejhar baajai.
The impulses of greed are so strongly arising in my mind, as if the waves are continuously rising in the ocean.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਲੋਭ ਦੀਆਂ ਠਿੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਠਾਠਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਇਆ ਡੂਬੈ ਕੇਸਵਾ ॥੧॥
kaa-i-aa doobai kaysvaa. ||1||
O’ my God of beautiful hair, my body (mind) is drowning in these waves of greed in the worldly ocean. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਡੁੱਬਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਮੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਰਿ ਗੋੁਬਿੰਦੇ ॥
sansaar samunday taar gobinday.
O’ God of the universe! please carry me across the world-ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ,
ਤਾਰਿ ਲੈ ਬਾਪ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taar lai baap beethulaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my Father-God! carry me across the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਬੀਠਲ ਪਿਤਾ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਿਲ ਬੇੜਾ ਹਉ ਖੇਵਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ॥
anil bayrhaa ha-o khayv na saaka-o.
I cannot steer the ship of my life through this storm of worldly desires.
ਇਸ ਝੱਖੜ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੈਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ) ਬੇੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੨॥
tayraa paar na paa-i-aa beethulaa. ||2||
O’ God! I cannot find the other shore of the world ocean of vices. ||2||
ਹੇ ਬੀਠਲ! ਤੇਰੇ (ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦਾ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਤੂ ਮੋ ਕਉ ॥ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ਕੇਸਵਾ ॥੩॥
hohu da-i-aal satgur mayl too mo ka-o. paar utaaray kaysvaa. ||3||
O’ God, bestow mercy and unite me with the true Guru who may ferry me across the worldly ocean of vices. ||3||
ਹੇ ਕੇਸ਼ਵ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਵੇ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਮਾ ਕਹੈ ਹਉ ਤਰਿ ਭੀ ਨ ਜਾਨਉ ॥
naamaa kahai ha-o tar bhee na jaan-o.
Namdev humbly prays, (O’ God), I do not even know how to swim,
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ, ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤਰਨਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ,
ਮੋ ਕਉ ਬਾਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਬਾਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
mo ka-o baah deh baah deh beethulaa. ||4||2||
O’ beloved God, please extend Your support and pull me out of this world-ocean of vices. ||4||2||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜਾ, ਦਾਤਾ! ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
ਸਹਜ ਅਵਲਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਮਣੀ ਗਾਡੀ ਚਾਲਤੀ ॥
sahj aval Dhoorh manee gaadee chaaltee.
Just as the cart laden with dirty clothes advances slowly towards the washing platform on the bank of a pond,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਲੇ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਗੱਡੀ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਤੁਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਪੀਛੈ ਤਿਨਕਾ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂਕਤੀ ॥੧॥
peechhai tinkaa lai kar haaNktee. ||1||
the washer-woman keeps pushing it forward with a stick in her hand; similarly our cart-like body filled with sins moves slowly towards the holy congregation. ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ (ਧੋਬਣ) ਸੋਟੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਕਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ; (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਲ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ,) ॥੧॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਪਨਕਤ ਥ੍ਰੂਟਿਟਿ ਹਾਂਕਤੀ ॥
jaisay pankat tharootit haaNktee.
Just as the washer-woman keeps uttering ”Tharatit” (go,go) to keep the beast pulling the cart toward the pond,
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਧੋਬਣ) (ਉਸ ਗੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਘਾਟ ਵਲ ‘ਥ੍ਰੂਟਿਟਿ’ ਆਖ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਰਿ ਧੋਵਨ ਚਾਲੀ ਲਾਡੁਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sar Dhovan chaalee laadulee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and the beloved of the washer-man proceeds toward the pond, to get these dirty clothes washed, similarly we have to make effort to wash off the dirt of sins from our mind. ||1||Pause||
ਅਤੇ ਸਰ ਉੱਤੇ (ਧੋਬੀ ਦੀ) ਲਾਡਲੀ (ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) (ਕੱਪੜੇ) ਧੋਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਣ (ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਸਤਸੰਗ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਉੱਤੇ (ਮਨ ਨੂੰ) ਧੋਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਧੋਬੀ ਧੋਵੈ ਬਿਰਹ ਬਿਰਾਤਾ ॥
Dhobee Dhovai birah biraataa.
Just as the washerman washes the dirty clothes, similarly the Guru imbued with the love of God, washes the dirt of sins from our minds.
ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਧੋਬੀ (-ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤੇ ਆਈਆਂ ਜਗਿਆਸੂ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
har charan mayraa man raataa. ||2||
(By the Guru’s grace), my mind has been imbued with the love of God’s immaculate Name. ||2||
(ਉਸੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਧੋਬੀ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਭੀ) ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਰਮਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
bhanat naamday-o ram rahi-aa.
Namdev submits, God is pervading everywhere,
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਪਰ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ॥੩॥੩॥
apnay bhagat par kar da-i-aa. ||3||3||
and He bestows mercy on His devotees. ||3||3||
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੩॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸੁਝੰਤਾ ਕਛੂ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
tujheh sujhantaa kachhoo naahi.
O’ Mortal, you do not understand anything,
(ਹੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ!) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੀ,
ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਦੇਖੇ ਊਭਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
pahiraavaa daykhay oobh jaahi.
looking at your worldly possession you get inflated with ego.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਠਾਠ ਵੇਖ ਕੇਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਗਰਬਵਤੀ ਕਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
garabvatee kaa naahee thaa-o.
The egoistic soul-bride has no place (in God’s presence),
ਵੇਖ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ (ਹੁੰਦਾ),
ਤੇਰੀ ਗਰਦਨਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਲਵੈ ਕਾਉ ॥੧॥
tayree gardan oopar lavai kaa-o. ||1||
and the crow (death) is hovering over your head. ||1||
ਤੇਰੀ ਧੋਣ ਉਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਂ ਕੁਰਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤੂ ਕਾਂਇ ਗਰਬਹਿ ਬਾਵਲੀ ॥
too kaaN-ay garbeh baavlee.
O’ foolish mortal, why do you feel inflated with ego?
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਮਲੀ ਕਾਇਆਂ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈਂ?
ਜੈਸੇ ਭਾਦਉ ਖੂੰਬਰਾਜੁ ਤੂ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਖਰੀ ਉਤਾਵਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaisay bhaada-o khoombraaj too tis tay kharee utaavalee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You would perish even quicker than a giant mushroom of summer. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਖੁੰਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈਂ ਜੋ ਭਾਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਚ (ਉੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਕੁਰੰਕ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਓ ਭੇਦੁ ॥
jaisay kurank nahee paa-i-o bhayd.
Just as a deer does not know the secret,
(ਹੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ!) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਭੇਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ,
ਤਨਿ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਢੂਢੈ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸੁ ॥
tan suganDh dhoodhai pardays.
that the fragrance of musk is within its own body, but it searches for it outside; similarly God dwells within, but one keeps searching Him outside.
ਕਿ ਕਸਤੂਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ),ਪਰ ਉਹ ਪਰਦੇਸ ਢੂੰਢਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ)।
ਅਪ ਤਨ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
ap tan kaa jo karay beechaar.
One who reflects on his own body (that it is short-lived),
ਜੋ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ),
ਤਿਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥
tis nahee jamkankar karay khu-aar. ||2||
the fear of the demon of death does not torment him. ||2||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਕਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
putar kaltar kaa karahi ahaNkaar.
O, mortal, you feel egotistically proud of your son and wife,
(ਹੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ!) ਤੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈਂ,
ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਗਨਹਾਰੁ ॥
thaakur laykhaa maganhaar.
(but remember that) the Master-God asks the account of deeds,
(ਪਰ ਚੇਤਾ ਰੱਖ) ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਫੇੜੇ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
fayrhay kaa dukh sahai jee-o.
and one endures the misery because of his evil deeds.
ਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਛੇ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਪੀਉ ਪੀਉ ॥੩॥
paachhay kiseh pukaareh pee-o pee-o. ||3||
O’ my body! after soul leaves, whom would you call: O’ dear, save me? ||3||
(ਹੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ! ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਣ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ) ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪਿਆਰਾ, ਪਿਆਰਾ’ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਵਾਜਾਂ ਮਾਰੇਂਗੀ? ॥੩॥
ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਜਉ ਲੇਹਿ ਓਟ ॥
saaDhoo kee ja-o layhi ot.
O’ mortal, if you seek the refuge of the Guru,
(ਹੇ ਕਾਇਆਂ!) ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਏਂ,
ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਪਾਪ ਸਭ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ॥
tayray miteh paap sabh kot kot.
millions upon millions of your sins would vanish.
ਤੇਰੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ।
ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੋੁ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
kahi ravidaas jo japai naam.
Ravidas says, one who lovingly meditates on God’s Name,
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਜੋਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੧॥
tis jaat na janam na jon kaam. ||4||1||
does not have to worry about his low social status during this life or going through reincarnations any more. ||4||1||
ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਨੀਵੀਂ) ਜਾਤ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੂਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਹੇ ਜੀਵ,ਸ਼ਰੀਫ਼ਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਗਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੋਰ ਹੈ,
ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂੰਛਟ ਊਪਰਿ ਝਮਕ ਬਾਲ ॥੧॥
tayree pooNchhat oopar jhamak baal. ||1||
and has shining hair on its tail. ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਪੂਛਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਲ ਭੀ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਇਸ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਤੂ ਢੂੰਢਿ ਖਾਹਿ ॥
is ghar meh hai so too dhoondh khaahi.
O’ mortal, sustain yourself with whatever you earn by honest means,
ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੱਕ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਰਤ।
ਅਉਰ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਤੂ ਮਤਿ ਹੀ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
a-or kis hee kay too mat hee jaahi. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and do not try to steal what belongs to others. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਸੇ ਬਿਗਾਨੇ ਮਾਲ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਚਾਕੀ ਚਾਟਹਿ ਚੂਨੁ ਖਾਹਿ ॥
chaakee chaateh choon khaahi.
O’ mortal, take whatever you need for your sustenances,
ਹੇ ਜੀਵ, ਆਪਣੀ ਲੋੜ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਧੰਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਰਤ,
ਚਾਕੀ ਕਾ ਚੀਥਰਾ ਕਹਾਂ ਲੈ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
chaakee kaa cheethraa kahaaN lai jaahi. ||2||
where will you take the extra wealth, which you are trying to hoard? ||2||
ਜੋੜ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਹ ਲੈ ਜਾਇਂਗਾ? ॥੨॥
ਛੀਕੇ ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਡੀਠਿ ॥
chheekay par tayree bahut deeth.
O’ mortal, you are always ambitious to acquire more and more worldly wealth.
ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਤੂੰ ਛਿੱਕੇ ਵਲ ਬੜਾ ਤੱਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਮਤੁ ਲਕਰੀ ਸੋਟਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰੈ ਪੀਠਿ ॥੩॥
mat lakree sotaa tayree parai peeth. ||3||
But be careful lest you may be hit with severe consequences. ||3||
ਵੇਖੀਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਲੱਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਤੋਂ ਸੋਟਾ ਨਾਹ ਵੱਜੇ। (ਜੇ ਜੀਵ! ਬਿਗਾਨੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ; ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਪਾਧੀ ਹੀ ਨਿਕਲੇਗੀ) ॥੩॥
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਭੋਗ ਭਲੇ ਕੀਨ ॥
kahi kabeer bhog bhalay keen.
Kabir says! O’ mortal, you have over-indulged in worldly pleasures,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਜੀਵ ! ਤੂੰ ਬਥੇਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਧਾ ਉਜਾੜਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਮਤਿ ਕੋਊ ਮਾਰੈ ਈਂਟ ਢੇਮ ॥੪॥੧॥
mat ko-oo maarai eeNt dhaym. ||4||1||
be careful lest you may get hit with afflictions which would spiritually ruin you. ||4||1||
ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖੀਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਇੱਟ ਢੇਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇ। (ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਤੂੰ ਜੁ ਇਹ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰੁੱਝਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਖ਼ੁਆਰੀ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥੧॥
