ਕਾਲਿ ਦੈਤਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਗਏ ॥੨॥
kaal dait sanghaaray jam pur ga-ay. ||2||
They are spiritually destroyed by the demon (fear) of death and feel as if they are gone to hell, the city of death. ||2||
ਕਾਲ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ, ਉਹ ਜਮ ਪੁਰੀ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
gurmukh har har har liv laagay.
But the Guru’s followers lovingly remain focused on remembering God,
ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੋਊ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੩॥
janam maran do-oo dukh bhaagay. ||3||
because of which their sufferings of both the birth and the death go away. ||3||
(ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
bhagat janaa ka-o har kirpaa Dhaaree.
God bestowed mercy on the devotees,
ਭਗਤਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ,
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥
gur naanak tuthaa mili-aa banvaaree. ||4||2||
Guru Nanak became gracious on them and they realized God, ||4||2||
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ,ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ॥੪॥੨॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਗੜ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਏਕ ਲੁਕਾਨੀ ॥
raam naam ratan koth-rhee garh mandar ayk lukaanee.
God’s Name is like a priceless jewel, and is hidden in a small chamber (heart) of our fortress-like body,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਹੀਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਕੁਟੀਆ ਅੰਦਰ ਛੁਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਖੋਜੀਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
satgur milai ta khojee-ai mil jotee jot samaanee. ||1||
If a person meets the true Guru only then he can search it out; one’s light (soul) merges with the divine light by meeting and following the Guru’s teachings. ||1||
ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਵੇ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਧੋ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
maaDho saaDhoo jan dayh milaa-ay.
O’ God, unite me with the Guru,
ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ,
ਦੇਖਤ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਪ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
daykhat daras paap sabh naaseh pavitar param pad paa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
seeing whose blessed sight, a person’s sins are eliminated, and he attains immaculate and supreme spiritual state. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਗਰੀਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥
panch chor mil laagay nagree-aa raam naam Dhan hiri-aa.
The five thieves (lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego) join together and rob the wealth of God’s Name from our body.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜ ਚੋਰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਚੁਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਜ ਪਰੇ ਤਬ ਪਕਰੇ ਧਨੁ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਉਬਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
gurmat khoj paray tab pakray Dhan saabat raas ubri-aa. ||2||
When one follows the Guru’s teachings and goes out in search of these thieves, only then they are caught and the wealth of Naam remains intact. ||2||
ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੁਰਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਇਹ ਚੋਰ) ਫੜੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨਾਮ-ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਾਖੰਡ ਭਰਮ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
pakhand bharam upaav kar thaakay rid antar maa-i-aa maa-i-aa.
People whose hearts are always craving for the love for materialism, get exhausted by adopting hypocritical and doubtful ways to realize God.
ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਮਾਂ-ਵਹਿਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਓਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਹੀ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ)।
ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੁਰਖਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
saaDhoo purakh purakhpat paa-i-aa agi-aan anDhayr gavaa-i-aa. ||3||.
But one who has met the Guru, has dispelled the darkness of ignorance and has realized God, the supreme Being. ||3||
ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਮਨੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ॥੩॥
ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
jagannaath jagdees gusaa-ee kar kirpaa saaDh milaavai.
Bestowing mercy, whom God, the master of the universe, unites with the Guru:
ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਨਾਥ, ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
naanak saaNt hovai man antar nit hirdai har gun gaavai. ||4||1||3||
O’ Nanak, tranquility prevails within his mind and he always sings praises of God within his heart. ||4||1||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਹਿੰਡੋਲ ॥

Raag Basant, Fourth Guru, Hindol:
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਹਮ ਕੀਰੇ ਕਿਰਮ ਤੁਮਨਛੇ ॥
tumH vad purakh vad agam gusaa-ee ham keeray kiram tumnachhay.
O’ God, You are the supreme being, great and inaccessible master of the universe and we are your lowly beings.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਿਹੇ ਜੀਵ ਹਾਂ।।
ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਹਮ ਬਨਛੇ ॥੧॥
har deen da-i-aal karahu parabh kirpaa gur satgur charan ham banchhay. ||1||
O’ merciful Master of the meek, please show mercy, and lead me to meet with the Guru because I humbly crave for the true Guru’s divine word. ||1||
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਛੇ ॥
gobind jee-o satsangat mayl kar kirpachhay.
O’ God of the universe, bestow mercy and unite me with the holy congregation.
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ।
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮਲੁ ਭਰਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਨਛੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam janam kay kilvikh mal bhari-aa mil sangat kar parabh hanchhay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I am overflowing with the filth of sins of countless lives; O’ God, bless me with righteous life by uniting me with the holy congregation. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਿੱਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਵਿਜਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੀਛੇ ॥
tumHraa jan jaat avijaataa har japi-o patit paveechhay.
O’ God, Your devotee, whether of high or low status or a sinner, becomes immaculate by lovingly remembering You.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਉੱਚੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਚਾਹੇ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਪਾਪੀ, ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਓ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਿਨਛੇ ॥੨॥
har kee-o sagal bhavan tay oopar har sobhaa har parabh dinchhay. ||2||
O’ God, You have elevated him (Your devotee) above the beings of the entire world, and O’ God, You have blessed him with divine glory. ||2||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, । ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ॥੨॥
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸਭਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਨਸ ਤਿਨਛੇ ॥
jaat ajaat ko-ee parabh Dhi-aavai sabh pooray maanas tinchhay.
whether a person belongs to a high caste or a low caste, whosoever lovingly remembers God, all his objectives of life get fulfilled.
ਉੱਚੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਚਾਹੇ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੇ ਧੰਨਿ ਵਡੇ ਵਡ ਪੂਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਛੇ ॥੩॥
say Dhan vaday vad pooray har jan jinH har Dhaari-o har urchhay. ||3||
The devotees who have enshrined God in their hearts, are blessed, fortunate and virtuous. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਹਮ ਢੀਂਢੇ ਢੀਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਛੇ ॥
ham dheeNdhay dheem bahut at bhaaree har Dhaar kirpaa parabh milchhay.
O’ God, we are lowly, spiritually ignorant and like a lump of clay, we are very heavy with the load of sins: O’ God, bestow mercy and unite us with Yourself.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਨੀਚ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਬੇ ਪਏ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਤੂਠੇ ਹਮ ਕੀਏ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵੀਛੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥
jan naanak gur paa-i-aa har toothay ham kee-ay patit paveechhay. ||4||2||4||
O’ devotee Nanak! God became gracious and we met with the Guru, who purified the sinners like us. ||4||2||4||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਗੀਧੇ ॥
mayraa ik khin manoo-aa reh na sakai nit har har naam ras geeDhay.
My mind has gotten so used to always enjoying the relish of God’s Name, that it cannot remain without the taste of Naam even for a moment;
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਸੁਆਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ;
ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਰਸਕਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਥਨਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਥਨਿ ਕਾਢੇ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲੀਧੇ ॥੧॥
ji-o baarik rasak pari-o than maataa than kaadhay bilal bileeDhay. ||1||
it is just like that infant, who joyfully sucks on mother’s breasts and, starts crying when the mother pulls out her breast from his mouth. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਬਾਲ ਬੜੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਥਣ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਬੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਥਣ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕੱਢ ਲਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵਿਲਕਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਧੇ ॥

O’ venerable God, my mind and body have been pierced with the love of Your Name.
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰ ਹਰਿ ਸੀਧੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
vadai bhaag gur satgur paa-i-aa vich kaa-i-aa nagar har seeDhay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By great good fortune, I have met the true Guru and by following his teachings, I have realized God within my body. ||1||Pause||
ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
