ਸੁਰ ਤੇਤੀਸਉ ਜੇਵਹਿ ਪਾਕ ॥
sur tayteesa-o jayveh paak.
who provides spiritual nourishment to millions of gods,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਤੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਛਕਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਵ ਗ੍ਰਹ ਕੋਟਿ ਠਾਢੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ॥
nav garah kot thaadhay darbaar.
millions of constellations of nine stars keep standing at whose door,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਨੌ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਖਲੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਧਰਮ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
Dharam kot jaa kai partihaar. ||2||
and millions of judges of righteousness are whose gatekeepers. ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਧਰਮ-ਰਾਜ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਪਵਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਚਉਬਾਰੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ॥
pavan kot cha-ubaaray fireh.
(My God is such) millions of winds blow around Him in the four directions,
(ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੇਸਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਉਦਾਲੇ ਚੋਹੀ ਪਾਸੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਚੱਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਬਾਸਕ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੇਜ ਬਿਸਥਰਹਿ ॥
baasak kot sayj bisathrahi.
for whom millions of Baasik serpents spread themselves as His bedding,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਜ ਲਈ ਵਿਛਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਮੁੰਦ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਾਨੀਹਾਰ ॥
samund kot jaa kay paaneehaar.
millions of oceans are whose water-carriers,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ,
ਰੋਮਾਵਲਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਭਾਰ ॥੩॥
romaaval kot athaarah bhaar. ||3||
and eighteen million loads of vegetation are like the hair of whose body. ||3||
ਅਤੇ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਭਾਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਜਿਸਮ ਦੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਰੋਮ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਮੇਰ ਭਰਹਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
kot kamayr bhareh bhandaar.
(I beg from that God), whose treasures are filled by millions of Kumers (gods of wealth)
(ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਭਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿਕ ਲਖਿਮੀ ਕਰੈ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
kotik lakhimee karai seegaar.
for whom millions of Lakshami (goddesses of wealth) adorn themselves,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਲਛਮੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿਕ ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਬਹੁ ਹਿਰਹਿ ॥
kotik paap punn baho hireh.
by whose blessed vision millions of good and bad deeds are destroyed,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਪੁੁੰਨ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹਿ ॥੪॥
indar kot jaa kay sayvaa karahi. ||4||
and whom millions of god Indaras serve. ||4||
ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਛਪਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਹਾਰ ॥
chhapan kot jaa kai partihaar.
(I worship that God), fifty six million clouds are whose gatekeepers,
(ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਾ ਜਾਚਕ ਹਾਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਛਵੰਜਾ ਕਰੋੜ ਬੱਦਲ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਹਨ,
ਨਗਰੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਖਿਅਤ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
nagree nagree khi-at apaar.
which keep on spreading their limitless lightning from place to place.
ਤੇ ਜੋ ਥਾਂ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਮਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ;
ਲਟ ਛੂਟੀ ਵਰਤੈ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥

Millions of goddesses like Kalka are present at whose door in their dreadful forms with loose hair,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਾਲਕਾ ਕੇਸ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਲਾ ਖੇਲੈ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੫॥
kot kalaa khaylai gopaal. ||5||
and at whose doors millions of powers are playing their wondrous plays. ||5||
ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੫॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਗ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਦਰਬਾਰ ॥
kot jag jaa kai darbaar.
(I beg from that God) in whose court millions of holy feasts are being hosted,
(ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੱਗ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੈਕਾਰ ॥
ganDharab kot karahi jaikaar.
millions of heavenly singers hail whose victory,
ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਜੈ-ਜੈਕਾਰ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਬਿਦਿਆ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਭੈ ਗੁਨ ਕਹੈ ॥
bidi-aa kot sabhai gun kahai.
millions of Vidyas (goddesses of education) try to utter whose praises,
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਤਊ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਲਹੈ ॥੬॥
ta-oo paarbarahm kaa ant na lahai. ||6||
but still they cannot find the limit of that supreme God. ||6||
ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ॥੬॥
ਬਾਵਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰੋਮਾਵਲੀ ॥
baavan kot jaa kai romaavalee.
(I pray to that God), millions of vamans (pigmies) are like whose hair,
(ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜਾਚਕ ਹਾਂ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਾਮਨ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਰੋਮ ਹਨ,
ਰਾਵਨ ਸੈਨਾ ਜਹ ਤੇ ਛਲੀ ॥
raavan sainaa jah tay chhalee.
in whose presence are millions of gods Rama who defeated the army of Raavan,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਜੀ) ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਵਣ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਹਾਰੀ ਸੀ;
ਸਹਸ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਹੁ ਕਹਤ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਕਾ ਮਥਿਆ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੭॥
sahas kot baho kahat puraan. durjoDhan kaa mathi-aa maan. ||7||
and in whose presence are standing billions of (god Krishana) referred to in Puranas, and who annihilated the arrogance of Daryodhan. ||7||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ) ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਦਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਧਰਹਿ ॥ ਅੰਤਰ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਹਰਹਿ ॥
kandarap kot jaa kai lavai na Dhareh. antar antar mansaa hareh.
I pray to that God, before whose beauty cannot stand even millions of Kamdevs (the gods of love) who steal the hearts of many.
(ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜਾਚਕ ਹਾਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਜੋ ਨਿੱਤ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਦਰਲੀ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਚੁਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨ ॥
kahi kabeer sun saarigpaan.
Kabir says, O’ God, listen to my prayer,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ,
ਦੇਹਿ ਅਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਦਾਨ ॥੮॥੨॥੧੮॥੨੦॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰੇ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਕਰਉ ਸਤ ਖੰਡ ॥
ray jihbaa kara-o sat khand.
O’ my tongue, I would cut you into a hundred pieces,
ਹੇ ਜੀਭੇ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਗਾਂ,
ਜਾਮਿ ਨ ਉਚਰਸਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥

ਜੇ ਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾ ਜਪੇ ॥੧॥
ਰੰਗੀ ਲੇ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
rangee lay jihbaa har kai naa-ay.
O’ my tongue, imbue yourself with the love of God’s Name;
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭੈ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾ।
ਸੁਰੰਗ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
surang rangeelay har har Dhi-aa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
yes, get imbued with the sublime love of God by meditating Him. ||1||Pause||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਅਵਰੇਂ ਕਾਮ ॥
mithi-aa jihbaa avrayN kaam.
O’ my tongue, false and useless are all other deeds,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭੇ ,ਹੋਰ ਕਾਰਵਿਹਾਰ ਕੂੜੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਿਰਬਾਣ ਪਦੁ ਇਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੨॥
nirbaan pad ik har ko naam. ||2||
because desire free state is attained only by remembering God’s Name. ||2||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਅਸੰਖ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀ ॥
asaNkh kot an poojaa karee.
Even if I worships millions and millions of other gods,
ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਅਸੰਖਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ (ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਾਂ,
ਏਕ ਨ ਪੂਜਸਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰੀ ॥੩॥
ayk na poojas naamai haree. ||3||
still all of them do not equal the worship of God’s Name. ||3||
ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਉਹ (ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ॥੩॥
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਇਹੁ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
paranvai naamday-o ih karnaa.
Namdev submits, the only deed worth doing (for my tongue),
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਲਈ) ਇਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ,
ਅਨੰਤ ਰੂਪ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
anant roop tayray naaraa-inaa. ||4||1||
is (to recite God’s praises and) say O’ God! Your forms are endless. ||4||1||
(ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਤੇ ਆਖੇ-) ‘ਹੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਰੂਪ ਹਨ’ ॥੪॥੧॥
ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਰਹਰੀ ॥
par Dhan par daaraa parharee.
One who has forsaken ill thoughts about other’s wealth and woman,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਰਹਰੀ ॥੧॥
taa kai nikat basai narharee. ||1||
God always abides with that person. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜੋ ਨ ਭਜੰਤੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥
jo na bhajantay naaraa-inaa.
Those who don’t meditate on God,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ,
ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਮੈ ਨ ਕਰਉ ਦਰਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tin kaa mai na kara-o darsanaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I (Namdev) do not associate with them at all. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹਿਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹੈ ਅੰਤਰਾ ॥
jin kai bheetar hai antraa.
Those people who are not in harmony with God,
(ਪਰ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿੱਥ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਪਸੁ ਤੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਨਰਾ ॥੨॥
jaisay pas taisay o-ay naraa. ||2||
those humans are just like animals. ||2||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਨਾਕਹਿ ਬਿਨਾ ॥ ਨਾ ਸੋਹੈ ਬਤੀਸ ਲਖਨਾ ॥੩॥੨॥
paranvat naamday-o naakeh binaa. naa sohai batees lakhnaa. ||3||2||
Namdev submits, a person with all nice features but no nose, does not look beautiful; one without Naam is like a person without Nose. ||3||2||
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਨੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ,ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬੱਤੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਤੀ ਹੀ ਲੱਛਣ ਹੋਣ ਉਹ ਸੁਹਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ (ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਹੋਣ, ਧਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਭੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ॥੩॥੨॥
ਦੂਧੁ ਕਟੋਰੈ ਗਡਵੈ ਪਾਨੀ ॥ ਕਪਲ ਗਾਇ ਨਾਮੈ ਦੁਹਿ ਆਨੀ ॥੧॥
dooDh katorai gadvai paanee. kapal gaa-ay naamai duhi aanee. ||1||
Namdev milked a white cow, and brought a cup of milk and a jug of water and placed it before the thakur (stone idol). ||1||
ਨਾਮੇ ਨੇ ਗੋਰੀ ਗਾਂ ਚੋ ਕੇ ਕਟੋਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਧ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਤੇਗੜਵੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅਗੇ ਲਿਆ ਰਖਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਦੂਧੁ ਪੀਉ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੇ ਰਾਇ ॥
dooDh pee-o gobinday raa-ay.
O’ my Sovereign God, please drink this milk,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ! ਤੂੰ ਦੁਧ ਪੀ ਲੈ,
ਦੂਧੁ ਪੀਉ ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਪਤੀਆਇ ॥
dooDh pee-o mayro man patee-aa-ay.
Yes please, do drink this milk, so that my mind may get appeased,
ਦੁੱਧ ਪੀ ਲੈ (ਤਾਂ ਜੋ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਠੰਢ ਪਏ;
ਨਾਹੀ ਤ ਘਰ ਕੋ ਬਾਪੁ ਰਿਸਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naahee ta ghar ko baap risaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
otherwise on returning home my father will be mad at me. ||1||Pause||
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਂਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ,ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੋੁਇਨ ਕਟੋਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਰੀ ॥ ਲੈ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀ ॥੨॥
so-in katoree amrit bharee. lai naamai har aagai Dharee. ||2||
Namdev placed before the thakur his gold-like immaculate heart filled with the ambrosial nectar of Naam. ||2||
ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਰੂਪ ਕਟੋਰੀ-ਨਾਮੇ ਨੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੨॥
ਏਕੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਬਸੈ ॥ ਨਾਮੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਰਾਇਨੁ ਹਸੈ ॥੩॥
ayk bhagat mayray hirday basai. naamay daykh naraa-in hasai. ||3||
Namdev felt that God looked upon him, smiled and said, a devotee like Namdev resides in my heart. ||3||
ਮੇਰਾ ਅਨੰਨ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਇਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਦੂਧੁ ਪੀਆਇ ਭਗਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
dooDh pee-aa-ay bhagat ghar ga-i-aa.
Namdev felt so happy as if God had drank the milk and he returned home,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਧ ਪਿਲਾ ਕੇ,ਭਗਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ,
