Raag Bhairao, Fifth Guru:
ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਧਨਾ ॥
nirDhan ka-o tum dayvhu Dhanaa.
O’ God, that spiritually poor person whom You bless with the wealth of Naam,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਜਿਸ) ਕੰਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਅਨਿਕ ਪਾਪ ਜਾਹਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਨਾ ॥
anik paap jaahi nirmal manaa.
countless of his sins vanish and his mind becomes immaculate.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥ ਭਗਤ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਨਾਮ ॥੧॥
sagal manorath pooran kaam. bhagat apunay ka-o dayvhu naam. ||1||
O’ God, that devotee whom You bless with Your Name, all the desires of his mind are fulfilled and all his tasks are accomplished. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਜਿਸ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਰਾਇ ॥
safal sayvaa gopaal raa-ay.
Fruitful is the devotional worship of God, the sovereign King,
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karan karaavanhaar su-aamee taa tay birthaa ko-ay na jaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The master-God is all powerful to do and get everything done; no one goes empty-handed from His door. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰੋਗੀ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖੰਡਹੁ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
rogee kaa parabh khandahu rog.
O’ God, You destroy the ailment of the ailing person,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ-ਦਾਰੂ ਦੇ ਕੇ) ਰੋਗੀ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਦੁਖੀਏ ਕਾ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
dukhee-ay kaa mitaavhu parabh sog.
and remove the sorrow of a suffering person,
ਦੁਖੀਏ ਦਾ ਗ਼ਮ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ ਥਾਨਿ ਬੈਠਾਵਹੁ ॥
nithaavay ka-o tumH thaan baithaavahu.
O’ God, one who has no place in the society, You provide a sublime place,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਿਠਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥
daas apnay ka-o bhagtee laavhu. ||2||
and attach Your devotee to Your devotional service. ||2||
ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਤੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
nimaanay ka-o parabh dayto maan.
O’ God! You bestow honor to the one who is not honored anywhere.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਹੋਇ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
moorh mugaDh ho-ay chatur sugi-aan.
and a totally foolish person becomes clever and spiritually wise
ਮਹਾਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਭਇਆਨ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਨਸੈ ॥ ਜਨ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ॥੩॥
sagal bha-i-aan kaa bha-o nasai. jan apnay kai har man basai. ||3||
When God manifests in the mind of His devotee, all his fear of the dreadful things flee away. ||3||
ਜਦੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੂਖ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
paarbarahm parabh sookh niDhaan.
The Supreme God is the treasure of celestial Peace.
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ l
ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ॥
tat gi-aan har amrit naam.
God’s ambrosial Name is the essence of all spiritual knowledge.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲੈ ਲਾਏ ॥
kar kirpaa sant tahlai laa-ay.
Bestowing mercy, whom God engages to the humble service of the saints:
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ:
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੩੬॥
naanak saaDhoo sang samaa-ay. ||4||23||36||
O’ Nanak, such a person merges in God by remaining in the Company of saints. ||4||23||36||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੩੬॥

ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ॥
sant mandal meh har man vasai.
God manifests in one’s heart by remaining in the company of saints.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਰਿਹਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਦੁਰਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਸੈ ॥
sant mandal meh durat sabh nasai.
In the company of saints, all sinful thoughts vanish from the mind.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆਂ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
sant mandal meh nirmal reet.
In the company of saints, one’s way of life becomes immaculate,
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਏਕ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥
satsang ho-ay ayk pareet. ||1||
and in the company of saints, one is imbued with the love of God. ||1||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲੁ ਤਹਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
sant mandal tahaa kaa naa-o.
Holy congregation is the name of that place,
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇਵਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarbarahm kayval gun gaa-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
where only praises of God are sung. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਰਹੈ ॥
sant mandal meh janam maran rahai.
The cycle of birth and death ends by remaining in the company of saints.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦਾ ਗੇੜ) ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਜਮੁ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਕਹੈ ॥
sant mandal meh jam kichhoo na kahai.
In the company of saints, the fear of death does not frighten anyone.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਕੋਈ ਡਰਾਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
satsang ho-ay nirmal banee.
One’s speech becomes immaculate in the company of saints,
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਬੋਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
sant mandal meh naam vakhaanee. ||2||
because only God’s Name is recited in the company of saints. ||2||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ) ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਕਾ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਨੁ ॥
sant mandal kaa nihchal aasan.
In the company of saints, one’s mind becomes stable against the vices.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ (ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਥੇ ਟਿਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਅਡੋਲ (ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ),
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਨਾਸਨੁ ॥
sant mandal meh paap binaasan.
In the company of the saints, all sins are destroyed.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਥਾ ॥
sant mandal meh nirmal kathaa.
In the company of saints, immaculate praises of God are sung.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਖ ਨਸਾ ॥੩॥
satsang ha-umai dukh nasaa. ||3||
In the company of saints, the pain of egotism vanishes. ||3||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹਉਮੈ (ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥
sant mandal kaa nahee binaas.
The merit of the company of saints never gets destroyed.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਵਾਯੂ-ਮੰਡਲ ਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
sant mandal meh har guntaas.
God, the treasure of virtues, dwells in the company of saints.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਦਾ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤ ਮੰਡਲ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
sant mandal thaakur bisraam.
The company of saints is the abode of the Master-God.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੩੭॥
naanak ot pot bhagvaan. ||4||24||37||
O’ Nanak, God remains entwined through and through in the company of saints. ||4||24||37||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਭਗਵਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਤਾਣੇ ਪੇਟੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੩੭॥

ਰੋਗੁ ਕਵਨੁ ਜਾਂ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
rog kavan jaaN raakhai aap.
When God Himself protects a person, then what disease can come near him?
ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਕਿਹਡਾ ਰੋਗ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਦੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥
tis jan ho-ay na dookh santaap.
And no pain or sorrow can afflict that person.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕੋਈ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
jis oopar parabh kirpaa karai.
One upon whom God bestows grace,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਊਪਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥੧॥
tis oopar tay kaal parharai. ||1||
He (God) removes the fear of death hovering over his head. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ, ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਖਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
sadaa sakhaa-ee har har naam.
God’s Name alone is one’s help and support forever.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਸਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਜਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis cheet aavai tis sadaa sukh hovai nikat na aavai taa kai jaam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whosoever lovingly remembers God’s Name, receives inner peace and even the demon (fear) of death does not come near him. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਮਰਾਜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੀ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਬ ਇਹੁ ਨ ਸੋ ਤਬ ਕਿਨਹਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
jab ih na so tab kineh upaa-i-aa.
When this human being did not exist, then who could have created the human being other than God Himself?
ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਤਦੋਂ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ) ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਾ ਸੀ?
ਕਵਨ ਮੂਲ ਤੇ ਕਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
kavan mool tay ki-aa paragtaa-i-aa.
From what basic elements, God created a beautiful human being.
ਕਿਸ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੈਸੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੂਰਤ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ) ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਆਪਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਜੀਵਾਲੈ ॥
aapeh maar aap jeevaalai.
He Himself destroys and Himself gives life.
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ॥੨॥
apnay bhagat ka-o sadaa paratipaalai. ||2||
God always cherishes His devotee. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਪੋਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਹਾਥ ॥
sabh kichh jaanhu tis kai haath.
Understand that everything is under God’s control.
ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਜਾਣੋ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
parabh mayro anaath ko naath.
My God is the Master of the masterless.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
dukh bhanjan taa kaa hai naa-o.
Destroyer of sorrow is His Name.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ ‘ਦੁਖ-ਭੰਜਨੁ’ (ਭਾਵ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ)।
ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੩॥
sukh paavahi tis kay gun gaa-o. ||3||
O’ brother, sing His praises, you shall find inner peace. ||3||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
sun su-aamee santan ardaas.
O’ the Master-God, You listen to the prayer of Your saints.
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਰੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jee-o paraan Dhan tumHrai paas.
The saints surrender their mind, life and wealth to You.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
ih jag tayraa sabh tujheh Dhi-aa-ay.
O’ God, this entire world has been created by You and everyone lovingly remembers You,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
