ਜਿਸੁ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
jis larh laa-ay la-ay so laagai.
Only that person focuses on Naam, whom God Himself blesses so,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੩॥
janam janam kaa so-i-aa jaagai. ||3||
and he spiritually awakens from the slumber of ignorance of many births. ||3||
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਿ ॥
tayray bhagat bhagtan kaa aap.
O’ God, Your devotees depends on You and You are the support of the devotees.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸਹਾਰੇ ਹਨ), ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ (ਸਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ) ਹੈਂ।
ਅਪਣੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
apnee mahimaa aapay jaap.
You praise Yourself through the devotees.
(ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
jee-a jant sabh tayrai haath.
All the creatures and beings are under Your control,
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੯॥
naanak kay parabh sad hee saath. ||4||16||29||
O’ God of Nanak, You are always with all the creatures. ||4||16||29||

The Name of the omniscient God is enshrined in my Heart.
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮੀ ॥
naam hamaarai aavai kaamee.
God’s Name accomplishes all my tasks.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਰੋਮਿ ਰੋਮਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
rom rom ravi-aa har naam.
God’s Name permeates even in each and every minutest part of my body.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
satgur poorai keeno daan. ||1||
The Perfect True Guru has given me this gift. ||1||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਦਾ) ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
naam ratan mayrai bhandaar.
God’s Name is my jewel-like precious treasure,
ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਗਮ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
agam amolaa apar apaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
which is inaccessible, priceless, infinite and incomparable. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੀਮਤ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਧਨੀ ॥
naam hamaarai nihchal Dhanee.
God is my eternal Master.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਬਨੀ ॥
naam kee mahimaa sabh meh banee.
The glory of God’s Name is looking beauteous in the beings.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੋਭ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਹੁ ॥
naam hamaarai pooraa saahu.
God is my perfect master of wealth,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹ) ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੨॥
naam hamaarai bayparvaahu. ||2||
God is my such a Master who is not dependent on anyone. ||2||
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਭੋਜਨ ਭਾਉ ॥
naam hamaarai bhojan bhaa-o.
God’s Name is my spiritual nurishment and love.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
naam hamaarai man kaa su-aa-o.
God’s Name is the objective of my mind.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
naam na visrai sant parsaad.
By the Guru’s grace, God’s Name never goes out of my mind.
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਅਨਹਦ ਪੂਰੇ ਨਾਦ ॥੩॥
naam lait anhad pooray naad. ||3||
When I recite God’s Name, it feels as if all the musical instruments are playing a non stop divine melody in my mind. ||3||
ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ (ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਇਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਸਾਜ਼ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
parabh kirpaa tay naam na-o niDh paa-ee.
By God’s Grace, I have received Naam, which is like the treasures of the world.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
gur kirpaa tay naam si-o ban aa-ee.
The love for God has welled up within me by the Guru’s grace.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਧਨਵੰਤੇ ਸੇਈ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੩੦॥
Dhanvantay say-ee parDhaan. naanak jaa kai naam niDhaan. ||4||17||30||
O’ Nanak, they alone are spiritually wealthy and distinguished, in whose heart is enshrined the treasures of Naam. ||4||17||30||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੩੦॥

ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੂਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤਾ ॥

O’ God, for me You are my Father and Mother.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
too mayray jee-a paraan sukh-daata.
You are my life and breath, and You are the bestower of inner peace.
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਹਉ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
too mayraa thaakur ha-o daas tayraa.
You are my Master and I am Your devotee.
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੧॥
tujh bin avar nahee ko mayraa. ||1||
Except for You there is no one whom I can call my own. ||1||
ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ (ਆਸਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
kar kirpaa karahu parabh daat.
O’ God, bestow mercy and bless me with this gift,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ) ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼,
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਰੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਉ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tumHree ustat kara-o din raat. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that I may always sing Your praises with adoration. ||1||Pause||
(ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੰਤ ਤੂ ਬਜਾਵਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
ham tayray jant too bajaavanhaaraa.
O’ God, we are like Your musical instruments and You are the Musician.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਸੰਗੀਤਕ) ਸਾਜ਼ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਿਖਾਰੀ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
ham tayray bhikhaaree daan deh daataaraa.
O’ God! the benefactor, we are Your beggars and You give us all the bounties.
ਹੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ (ਦਰ ਦੇ) ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤਉ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣੇ ॥
ta-o parsaad rang ras maanay.
By Your grace, we enjoy your love and the spiritual pleasures.
ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥੨॥
ghat ghat antar tumeh samaanay. ||2||
O’ God! You are pervading in each and every heart. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ ॥
tumHree kirpaa tay japee-ai naa-o.
O’ God! Your Name can be lovingly remembered only through Your grace,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
saaDhsang tumray gun gaa-o.
(bestow mercy), that I may sing Your praises in the holy congregation.
(ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਦਰਦ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥
tumHree da-i-aa tay ho-ay darad binaas.
O’ God, it is by Your grace that all my pains and misery vanish,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦਰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮਇਆ ਤੇ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸੁ ॥੩॥
tumree ma-i-aa tay kamal bigaas. ||3||
and my heart blossoms like a lotus flower by Your kindness. ||3||
ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਕੌਲ ਦਾ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
ha-o balihaar jaa-o gurdayv.
I am dedicated to my Divine Guru,
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੇਵ ॥
safal darsan jaa kee nirmal sayv.
whose blessed vision is fruitful and whose teachings make life immaculate.
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
da-i-aa karahu thaakur parabh mayray.
O’ my Master-God! bestow mercy,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ,
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਿਤ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੩੧॥
gun gaavai naanak nit tayray. ||4||18||31||
so that Nanak may always keep singing Your praises. ||4||18||31||

God, whose regal court is the highest of all
ਜਿਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਭ (ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਾਂ) ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜੋਹਾਰੁ ॥
sadaa sadaa taa ka-o johaar.
we should always humbly bow to Him.
ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ) ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਥਾਨ ॥
oochay tay oochaa jaa kaa thaan.
God, whose abode (status) is the highest of the high,
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਲ (ਦਰਜਾ) ਉੱਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘਾ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥੧॥
kot aghaa miteh har naam. ||1||
millions of sins vanish by lovingly remembering that God’s Name. ||1||
ਉਸ ਹਰੀ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
tis sarnaa-ee sadaa sukh ho-ay.
That person always enjoys celestial peace in God’s refuge,
ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮੇਲੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa jaa ka-o maylai so-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
bestowing mercy whom (God) unites with His Name. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ (ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਤਬ ਲਖੇ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
jaa kay kartab lakhay na jaahi.
God, whose wondrous deeds cannot be understood,
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਚੋਜ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਸਮਝੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ,
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਸਭ ਘਟ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
jaa kaa bharvaasaa sabh ghat maahi.
whose support is in every one’s heart,
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
pargat bha-i-aa saaDhoo kai sang.
He manifests in the heart of those who stay in the company of the Guru,
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
bhagat araaDheh an-din rang. ||2||
His devotees always remember Him with loving devotion. ||2||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਦੇਦੇ ਤੋਟਿ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
dayday tot nahee bhandaar.
His treasures are never exhausted by giving bounties to His creation.
(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਦਾਤਾਂ) ਦੇਂਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰ ॥
khin meh thaap uthaapanhaaraa.
He has the power to create and destroy in an instant.
ਉਹ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
jaa kaa hukam na maytai ko-ay.
God, whose command no one can override,
ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਿਰਿ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
sir paatisaahaa saachaa so-ay. ||3||
that eternal God is the sovereign King of the kings. ||3||
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ) ਉਹ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਤਿਸੈ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
jis kee ot tisai kee aasaa.
God, on whose support we depend, we also place our hopes in Him,
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ (ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਹੈ।
