ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਰੁਚੈ ॥
har kay naam kee man ruchai.
A person whose mind always yearn to recite and reflect on God’s Name,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਲਤ ਛਾਤੀ ਬੁਝੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot saaNt anand pooran jalat chhaatee bujhai. rahaa-o.
finds that the fire of worldly desires that was burning in the heart is extinguished, and that perfect peace and joy prevails within. ||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ) ਬਲ ਰਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸੰਤ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਰੇ ਮੁਚੈ ॥
sant maarag chalat paraanee patit uDhray muchai.
Many sinners have been saved in the company of the person who has been following the path shown by the Guru.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਰੇਨੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਲਗੀ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਤੀਰਥ ਸੁਚੈ ॥੧॥
rayn jan kee lagee mastak anik tirath suchai. ||1||
The person who humbly bows before the Guru and follows his teachings, becomes immaculate as if he has bathed at many holy places. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਝੈ ॥
charan kamal Dhi-aan bheetar ghat ghateh su-aamee sujhai.
A person whose attention remains focussed on God’s Name, realizes that his Master-God resides in each and every heart.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਨਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਪਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਲੁਝੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੫॥
saran dayv apaar naanak bahur jam nahee lujhai. ||2||7||15||
O’ Nanak, the fear of death does not trouble a person who enters the refuge of the infinite God. ||2||7||15||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚਾਨਣ-ਰੂਪ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਮ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਝਗੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੫॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil mayray pareetam pi-aari-aa. rahaa-o.
O’ my beloved God, please help me to realize You. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
poor rahi-aa sarbatar mai so purakh biDhaataa.
The all pervading Creator of the universe is pervading His creation and is present in everybody.
ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
maarag parabh kaa har kee-aa santan sang jaataa.
God Himself has created this path to realize Him; He is realized in the company of saintly people.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਰਸਤਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ॥
santan sang jaataa purakh biDhaataa ghat ghat nadar nihaali-aa.
Yes, the all pervading Creator-God can be realized in the company of saints and can be visualized in every heart.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਖੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਸਰਨੀ ਆਵੈ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਨੈ ਘਾਲਿਆ ॥
jo sarnee aavai sarab sukh paavai til nahee bhannai ghaali-aa.
Whoever comes to His refuge, finds every comfort; God doesn’t let even the smallest effort go waste.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਘਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਵਾਂਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਏ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
har gun niDh gaa-ay sahj subhaa-ay paraym mahaa ras maataa.
The person who intuitively sings the praises of God, the treasure of virtues, becomes elated with the sublime nectar of divine love.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਤੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
naanak daas tayree sarnaa-ee too pooran purakh biDhaataa. ||1||
O’ Creator of the entire universe, You pervade everywhere; Your devotee Nanak seeks Your refuge. ||1||
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ,ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਹੈ।॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਸੇ ਆਨ ਕਤ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
har paraym bhagat jan bayDhi-aa say aan kat jaahee.
The devotees who are filled with loving devotional worship of God, cannot forsake Him and go elsewhere.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ
ਮੀਨੁ ਬਿਛੋਹਾ ਨਾ ਸਹੈ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਪਾਹੀ ॥
meen bichhohaa naa sahai jal bin mar paahee.
Just as fish cannot bear separation from water, and die without it,
(ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਮੱਛੀ (ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ) ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਸਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ਦੂਖ ਕਿਨਿ ਸਹੀਐ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬੂੰਦ ਪਿਆਸਿਆ ॥
har bin ki-o rahee-ai dookh kin sahee-ai chaatrik boond pi-aasi-aa.
and the thirsty rain bird cannot survive without the drop of rain water, similarly then how can God’s true devotees live without Him.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਭੀ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਪਪੀਹਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਲਈ ਤਰਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਬ ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਹਾਵੈ ਚਕਵੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੂਰਜ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ॥
kab rain bihaavai chakvee sukh paavai sooraj kiran pargaasi-aa.
Just as the Sheldrake longs for the night to end, and seeks the first rays of the sun to light up the sky and have the pleasure of meeting her mate,
(ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਜਦ ਤਕ ਰਾਤ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕੇ, ਜਦ ਤਕ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਨ ਲੋਅ ਨ ਕਰੇ, ਚਕਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਿ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸਭਾਗਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹੀ ॥
har daras man laagaa dinas sabhaagaa an-din har gun gaahee.
God’s true devotee longs for the auspicious time which brings the blessed vision of God, and during which they always sing His praises.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ) ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਕਤ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਟਿਕਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
naanak daas kahai baynantee kat har bin paraan tikaahee. ||2||
Devotee Nanak humbly states that they who are imbued with God’s love, cannot find inner peace without keeping Him in their thoughts. ||2||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਧੀਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਸ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਕਤ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
saas binaa ji-o dayhuree kat sobhaa paavai.
How can a body that ceases breathing, receive honor?
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ, ਸਰੀਰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਦਰਸ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ਸਾਧ ਜਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਟਿਕਣੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
daras bihoonaa saaDh jan khin tikan na aavai.
Similarly, without realizing God, a saintly person can not find inner peace even for a moment.
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੋ ਰਹਣਾ ਨਰਕੁ ਸੋ ਸਹਣਾ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ॥
har bin jo rahnaa narak so sahnaa charan kamal man bayDhi-aa.
A life without realizing God is like suffering in hell, but the one whose mind is imbued with the love of God’s Name,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੋ ਜੀਊਣ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਊਣ ਨਰਕ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਤੁੱਲ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਛ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿਕ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਨਿਖੇਧਿਆ ॥
har rasik bairaagee naam liv laagee katahu na jaa-ay nikhayDhi-aa.
he becomes a true lover of God’s Name; his mind remains focused on Him and never faces disgrace anywhere.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸੀਆ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਨਿਰਾਦਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਣਾ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਕਿ ਨ ਮਾਵੈ ॥
har si-o jaa-ay milnaa saaDhsang rahnaa so sukh ank na maavai.
By keeping the company of God’s devotees, you feel the presence of God; that realization gives such joy that you cannot contain it within.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ (ਤੇ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ)(ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਐਸਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
hohu kirpaal naanak kay su-aamee har charnah sang samaavai. ||3||
O’ the Master-God of Nanak, the one upon whom You bestow mercy merges in Your immaculate Name. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
khojat khojat parabh milay har karunaa Dhaaray.
God took pity on me, and I realized Him after searching again and again.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ) ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ।
ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੋਖ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
nirgun neech anaath mai nahee dokh beechaaray.
God ignored my sins, even though I am lowly, unvirtuous and destitute.
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਮੈਂ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਅਨਾਥ ਸਾਂ। ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਔਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਨਹੀ ਦੋਖ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਬਖਾਨਿਆ ॥
nahee dokh beechaaray pooran sukh saaray paavan birad bakhaani-aa.
Yes, He ignored my past sins, and blessed me with every comfort; he exhibited His innate nature of purifying sinners.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ, (ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ) ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਪਤਿਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨਾ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਅੰਚਲੋੁ ਗਹਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰ ਸਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
bhagat vachhal sun anchlo gahi-aa ghat ghat poor samaani-aa.
Hearing that God is the lover of devotional worship, I have come in his refuge and firmly believe that He is fully pervading everyone.
ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭਗਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ । ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੋੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
sukh saagro paa-i-aa sahj subhaa-i-aa janam maran dukh haaray.
I have intuitively realized God, the ocean of bliss, and now all my sorrows from birth to death have ended.
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪ-ਮੁਹਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ। ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਮਰਨ ਤਕ ਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ।
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਉਰਿ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
Kar geh leenay naanak daas apnay raam naam ur haaray. ||4||1||.
O’ Nanak, extending support, God unites his devotees with Himself; they keep God’s Name enshrined in their heart. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥
