ਕਾਇਆ ਪਾਤ੍ਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ॥
kaa-i-aa paatar parabh karnaihaaraa.
God is the creator of the human body
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
ਲਗੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਾਰਾ ॥
lagee laag sant sangaaraa.
When a person is influenced positively in the holy company,
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁਖ ਤੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗਾ ਅਸਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ਬਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰੰਗਨਾ ॥੧੫॥
nirmal so-ay banee har banee man naam majeethai rangnaa. ||15||
then through the divine word of God’s praises, his reputation becomes immaculate and his mind gets imbued with the deep love of Naam.||15||
ਤਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪੱਕੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
ਸੋਲਹ ਕਲਾ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਫਲਿਆ ॥
solah kalaa sampooran fali-aa.
That person’s life becomes completely fruitful,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਨਤ ਕਲਾ ਹੋਇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਚੜਿਆ ॥
anat kalaa ho-ay thaakur charhi-aa.
in whose mind manifests God, the master of infinite power.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਭੁੰਚਨਾ ॥੧੬॥੨॥੯॥
anad binod har naam sukh naanak amrit ras har bhunchanaa. ||16||2||9||
O’ Nanak, by meditating on God’s Name, that person enjoys all kinds of pleasures and inner peace; enjoys the ambrosial nectar of Naam. ||16||2||9||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥੨॥੯॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਹਉ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕੀਤਾ ॥
too saahib ha-o sayvak keetaa.
O’ God, You are my Master and I am Your devotee, created by You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ (ਪੈਦਾ) ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਤਾ ॥
jee-o pind sabh tayraa deetaa.
This body and soul are blessed by You.
ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਭੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂਹੈ ਹੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਅਸਾੜਾ ॥੧॥
karan karaavan sabh toohai toohai hai naahee kichh asaarhaa. ||1||
You are the cause and the doer of everything, none of this is our doing.||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ। ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪਠਾਏ ਤਾ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
tumeh pathaa-ay taa jag meh aa-ay.
O’ God, only when You send beings, only then they come into this world;
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ (ਇਹ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
jo tuDh bhaanaa say karam kamaa-ay.
whatever is Your wish, they do the deeds accordingly.
ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮ ਜੀਵ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਆ ਤਾ ਭੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾੜਾ ॥੨॥
tujh tay baahar kichhoo na ho-aa taa bhee naahee kichh kaarhaa. ||2||
Since nothing can happen outside Your will, therefore, they do not worry at all. ||2||
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਊਹਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥
oohaa hukam tumaaraa sunee-ai.
O’ God, it is heard that Your command also prevails even in world hereafter,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ (ਹੀ) ਹੁਕਮ (ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ) ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਈਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਣੀਐ ॥
eehaa har jas tayraa bhanee-ai.
and here in this world also Your praises are being recited.
ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਉਚਾਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਲੇਖ ਅਲੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਝਾੜਾ ॥੩॥
aapay laykh alaykhai aapay tum si-o naahee kichh jhaarhaa. ||3||
You Yourself write the accounts of people‘s deeds, and Yourself free them from these accounts, so they cannot have any strife with You.||3||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ) ਲੇਖੇ (ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ), ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਲੇਖੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ (ਜੀਵ) ਕੋਈ ਝਗੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੩॥
ਤੂ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਥਾਰੇ ॥
too pitaa sabh baarik thaaray.
O’ God! You are the father and all the beings are Your children.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ (ਜੀਵ) ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਉ ਖੇਲਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਖੇਲਣਹਾਰੇ ॥
ji-o khaylaaveh ti-o khaylanhaaray.
They can play or do only whatever You make them play.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਖਿਡਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਉਝੜ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕੀਨਾ ਚਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਵੇਪਾੜਾ ॥੪॥
ujharh maarag sabh tum hee keenaa chalai naahee ko vaypaarhaa. ||4||
You have made the righteous and the wrong paths of life; on their own, no one can tread on a wrong path.||4||
ਗ਼ਲਤ ਰਸਤਾ ਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਰਸਤਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪॥
ਇਕਿ ਬੈਸਾਇ ਰਖੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਤਰਿ ॥
ik baisaa-ay rakhay garih antar.
O’ God, to some You have comfortably settled in their own homes,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਈ ਜੀਵ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਠਾਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਇਕਿ ਪਠਾਏ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਸੰਤਰਿ ॥
ik pathaa-ay days disantar.
and there are some that You have sent in different foreign lands.
ਕਈ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਕ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਘਾਸੁ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਕੂੜਾ ॥੫॥
ik hee ka-o ghaas ik hee ka-o raajaa in meh kahee-ai ki-aa koorhaa. ||5||
You have made some as poor grass-cutters, and some as kings; none of these can be called wrong? ||5||
ਕਈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਘਾਹ ਖੋਤਰਨ ਤੇ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੫॥
ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਨਰਕਾ ॥
kavan so muktee kavan so narkaa.
O’ God, how can we know that who is going to be liberated from the vices and who is going to suffer like hell,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਮਝੀਏ ਕਿ ਕੌਣ ਬੰਦਖ਼ਲਾਸ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਵਨੁ ਸੈਸਾਰੀ ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਭਗਤਾ ॥
kavan saisaaree kavan so bhagtaa.
who truly is a householder and who is Your devotee,
ਕੌਣ ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਤੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਦਾਨਾ ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਹੋਛਾ ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਸੁਰਤਾ ਕਵਨੁ ਜੜਾ ॥੬॥
kavan so daanaa kavan so hochhaa kavan so surtaa kavan jarhaa. ||6||
who is wise and who is of shallow intellect: who is intelligent and who is foolish?||6||
ਕੌਣ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਸੁਹਦੇ ਸੁਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ?ਕੌਣ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਬੇਸਮਝ ਹੈ?॥੬॥
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਨਰਕਾ ॥
hukmay muktee hukmay narkaa.
O’ God, it is as per Your will that someone is freed from the vices, and according to Your will someone endures misery like in hell.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਮੁਕਤੀ (ਮਿਲਦੀ) ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਨਰਕ (ਮਿਲਦਾ) ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸੈਸਾਰੀ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਭਗਤਾ ॥
hukam saisaaree hukmay bhagtaa.
By Your command, one becomes a householder and by Your command one becomes Your devotee.
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹੋਛਾ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਦਾਨਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਧੜਾ ॥੭॥
hukmay hochhaa hukmay daanaa doojaa naahee avar Dharhaa. ||7||
As per Your will, one has shallow intellect and by Your command one is wise; there is none other who can go against Your will.||7||
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਹਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਧੜਾ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੭॥
ਸਾਗਰੁ ਕੀਨਾ ਅਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
saagar keenaa at tum bhaaraa.
O’ God! You Yourself have created this world like a vast ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਕਿ ਖੜੇ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਗਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
ik kharhay rasaatal kar manmukh gaavaaraa.
You Yourself make some people to endure the hell like sufferings by making them self-willed fools.
ਕਈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਮੁਰੀਦ-ਮੂਰਖ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਇਕਨਾ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਵਹਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਬੇੜਾ ॥੮॥
iknaa paar langhaaveh aapay satgur jin kaa sach bayrhaa. ||8||
You ferry many people, who ride the ship of the true Guru (follow the teachings of the true Guru), across this worldly ocean of vices. ||8||
ਕਈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ॥੮॥
ਕਉਤਕੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਇਹੁ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਪਠਾਇਆ ॥
ka-utak kaal ih hukam pathaa-i-aa.
God has set up the astonishing process of death by His command,
ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਦਰ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਮੌਤ ਨਿਯਤ ਕੀਤੀ (ਭੇਜੀ) ਹੈ,
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਓਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
jee-a jant opaa-ay samaa-i-aa.
this is how after creating the beings and creatures, He absorbs them back into Himself.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਸਭਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ਰਚਨੁ ਕੀਨਾ ਇਕੁ ਆਖਾੜਾ ॥੯॥
vaykhai vigsai sabh rang maanay rachan keenaa ik aakhaarhaa. ||9||
God has created this world like an arena; He feels delighted and enjoys all the pleasures of watching the beings playing the games of life in it.||9||
ਇਸ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ,ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ॥੯॥
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਵਡੀ ਨਾਈ ॥
vadaa saahib vadee naa-ee.
The Master-God is great and great is His glory,
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਬਹੁਤ) ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਭੀ ਬਹੁਤ) ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ,
ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਵਡੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਾਈ ॥
vad daataar vadee jis jaa-ee.
He is the great Benefactor and great is His abode.
ਉਹ ਬੜਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ (ਜਿਥੇ ਉਹ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਹੁਤ) ਵੱਡੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੋਲਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਹਾੜਾ ॥੧੦॥
agam agochar bay-ant atolaa hai naahee kichh aahaarhaa. ||10||
God is inaccessible, incomprehensible, limitless, and inestimable; there is no method by which His worth can be assessed. ||10||
ਉਹ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ, ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਜੋਖ ਹੈ ; ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤੋਲਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਪ-ਤੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
keemat ko-ay na jaanai doojaa.
No one else can know the worth of God’s virtues.
ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
aapay aap niranjan poojaa.
The immaculate God Himself is equal to Himself.
ਉਹ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਿ ਸੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਸਤਵੰਤਾ ਅਤਿ ਗਾੜਾ ॥੧੧॥
aap so gi-aanee aap Dhi-aanee aap satvantaa at gaara. ||11||
God Himself is very wise, Himself the contemplator, He Himself is truthful and of extremely high character.||11||
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਕੇਤੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥
kayt-rhi-aa din gupat kahaa-i-aa.
It is said that for myriads of days, God remained unmanifested.
(ਹੁਣ ਜਗਤ ਬਣਨ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ) ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਮਾ ਉਹ ਗੁਪਤ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਕੇਤੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
kayt-rhi-aa din sunn samaa-i-aa.
For an innumerable number of days, He remained merged in a thoughtless trance.
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਮਾ ਉਹ ਅਫੁਰ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਕੇਤੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਧੁੰਧੂਕਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਪਰਗਟੜਾ ॥੧੨॥
kayt-rhi-aa din DhunDhookaaraa aapay kartaa pargatrhaa. ||12||
There was complete darkness for unimaginable long period, and then the Creator revealed Himself.||12||
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਮਾ ਇਕ ਐਸੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੀ ਜੋ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੨॥
ਆਪੇ ਸਕਤੀ ਸਬਲੁ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥
aapay saktee sabal kahaa-i-aa.
God Himself created Maya, the worldly riches and power, and Himself got acclaimed the most powerful.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਬਲਵਾਲਾ ਅਖਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
