ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
aap tarai saglay kul taaray har dargeh pat si-o jaa-idaa. ||6||
(One who meditates on Naam), swims across the world-ocean of vices along with his entire lineage and goes to God’s presence with honor. ||6||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਆਪ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਖੰਡ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੀਪ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਆ ॥
khand pataal deep sabh lo-aa.
All the continents, nether worlds, islands, and all the people of the world,
ਇਹ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਖੰਡ ਮੰਡਲ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਤੇ ਦੀਪ ਹਨ,
ਸਭਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
sabh kaalai vas aap parabh kee-aa.
are subjected to death by God’s will.
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜੋ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
nihchal ayk aap abhinaasee so nihchal jo tiseh Dhi-aa-idaa. ||7||
The imperishable God Himself is immortal and one who lovingly remembers Him also becomes immortal. ||7||
ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੭॥
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਹਾ ॥
har kaa sayvak so har jayhaa.
The devotee of God becomes like God Himself.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਹਾ ॥
bhayd na jaanhu maanas dayhaa.
Do not think there is any difference between God and the devotee, just because the devotee has a human body.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ (ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਾਹ ਸਮਝੋ।
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਉਠਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
ji-o jal tarang utheh baho bhaatee fir sallai salal samaa-idaa. ||8||
Just as many kinds of waves rise up in water and then water merges in the water; similarly one who lovingly remembers God, merges into Him. ||8||
ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਂਦਾ ਇਉਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਰਾਂ ਉੱਠਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮੁੜ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਰਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥੮॥
ਇਕੁ ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
ik jaachik mangai daan du-aarai.
A devotee begs like a beggar in God’s presence.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਇਕ ਮੰਗਤਾ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਖੜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਾ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
jaa parabh bhaavai taa kirpaa Dhaarai.
Whenever it pleases the Almighty, He bestows mercy.
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
dayh daras jit man tariptaasai har keertan man thehraa-idaa. ||9||
O’ God, please bless me with Your vision, so that my mind may get satiated from worldly desires, and remain focused in singing God’s praise ||9||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!)ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਹ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
ਰੂੜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਿਤੈ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
roorho thaakur kitai vas na aavai.
The beauteous Master-God cannot be not controlled in any way,
ਸੋਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ,
ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਸੰਤਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
har so kichh karay je har ki-aa santaa bhaavai.
but He does what is pleasing to His saints.
ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਇਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
keetaa lorhan so-ee karaa-in dar fayr na ko-ee paa-idaa. ||10||
Whatever they need to do, they get that done from God and nobody can put an obstruction in their way to His presence. ||10||
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ) ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
ਜਿਥੈ ਅਉਘਟੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
jithai a-ughat aa-ay banat hai paraanee.
O’ mortal, wherever one is faced with any trouble in life’s journey,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! (ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ) ਜਿਥੇ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਔਖਿਆਈ ਆ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
tithai har Dhi-aa-ee-ai saaringpaanee.
there one should lovingly remember God, the support of the World.
ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਥੰਮਣਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
jithai putar kalatar na baylee ko-ee tithai har aap chhadaa-idaa. ||11||
Where neithe son, nor wife, nor any friend can help us, there God Himself comes to our rescue. ||11||
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਾਹ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਹ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ (ਔਖਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ) ਛੁਡਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
vadaa saahib agam athaahaa.
The great Master-God is inaccessible and unfathomable.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈ, ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
ki-o milee-ai parabh vayparvaahaa.
How can one meet with the care-free God?
ਉਸ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ਸੋ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
kaat silak jis maarag paa-ay so vich sangat vaasaa paa-idaa. ||12||
Cutting the noose of the love for Maya, whom God Himself puts on the righteous path in life, that person comes to abide in the holy congregation. ||12||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
hukam boojhai so sayvak kahee-ai.
A person who understands God’s will, is called His true devotee,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸਹੀਐ ॥
buraa bhalaa du-ay samsar sahee-ai.
and believes that we should bear both good and bad (pleasure and misery) alike.
(ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਦੁਖ (ਆਵੇ ਚਾਹੇ) ਸੁਖ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਹਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਤ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
ha-umai jaa-ay ta ayko boojhai so gurmukh sahj samaa-idaa. ||13||
When one’s ego goes away, only then he realizes God and such a follower of the Guru’s teachings easily merges in Him. ||13||
ਜਦ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਮਿੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਐੲੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਗੁਰੂ-ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥੧੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
har kay bhagat sadaa sukhvaasee.
The devotees of God always enjoy spiritual bliss.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਾਲ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਅਤੀਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
baal subhaa-ay ateet udaasee.
With innocent nature like children, they always remain detached from the love for materialism and carefree.
ਬਾਲਕ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਵਿਰਕਤ ਤੇ ਉਪਰਾਮ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਜਿਉ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੂਤੁ ਲਾਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
anik rang karahi baho bhaatee ji-o pitaa poot laadaa-idaa. ||14||
They enjoy various spiritual pleasures in many ways and God loves them, like a father loves his son. ||14||
ਉਹ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਉਂ ਲਾਡ ਲਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਆਪਦੇ ਪੁੱਤ ਨੂੰ ॥੧੪॥
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
agam agochar keemat nahee paa-ee.
God is inaccessible and incomprehensible, His worth cannot be determined.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
taa milee-ai jaa la-ay milaa-ee.
We can unite with Him only when He Himself unites us.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
gurmukh pargat bha-i-aa tin jan ka-o jin Dhur mastak laykh likhaa-idaa. ||15||
Through the Guru, God manifests only in the hearts of those who have such preordained destiny. ||15||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
too aapay kartaa kaaran karnaa.
O’ God, You Yourself are the Creator, and the Cause of all causes.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈਂ।
ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਧਰੀ ਸਭ ਧਰਣਾ ॥
sarisat upaa-ay Dharee sabh Dharnaa.
After creating the entire universe, You have provided support to it.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੫॥
jan naanak saran pa-i-aa har du-aarai har bhaavai laaj rakhaa-idaa. ||16||1||5||
Devotee Nanak has sought refuge in God’s presence; if it pleases God, He would preserves his (Nanak’s) honor. ||16||1||5||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਨਾਨਕ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਏਗਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੫॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਏਕੋ ਤੂਹੈ ॥
jo deesai so ayko toohai.
O’ God, whatever is visible in this world, it is only You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ l
ਬਾਣੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥
banee tayree sarvan sunee-ai.
Whatever we listen with our ears, is Your word (because You are speaking through all the creatures).
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਬੋਲ ਕੰਨੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੂਜੀ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਜਾਪਸਿ ਕਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧॥
doojee avar na jaapas kaa-ee sagal tumaaree Dhaarnaa. ||1||
Since the universe is created and supported by You, nothing seems to belong to any other. ||1||
ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸ਼ੈ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਹੀ ॥੧॥
ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
aap chitaaray apnaa kee-aa.
God Himself takes care of His creation.
ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
aapay aap aap parabh thee-aa.
God Himself is manifesting everywhere.
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੨॥
aap upaa-ay rachi-on pasaaraa aapay ghat ghat saarnaa. ||2||
After creating Himself, He created the expanse (of the world), and He takes care of it by pervading in every heart. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਪਸਾਰਾ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਇਕਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਵਡ ਦਰਵਾਰੀ ॥
ik upaa-ay vad darvaaree.
O’ God, You have created some, who are great rulers (hold vast powers).
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਕਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ l
ਇਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥
ik udaasee ik ghar baaree.
There are some who are ascetics and others who are householders.
ਕਈ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
