ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
maajh mehlaa 5.
Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਸਫਲ ਸੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥
safal so banee jit naam vakhaanee.
Blessed are those words, by which the Naam is recited.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਉੱਦਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜਾਣੀ ॥
gur parsaad kinai virlai jaanee.
By Guru’s grace only a rare person has realized this thing.
(ਪਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਅਜੇਹੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਵੇਲਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਆਏ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Dhan so vaylaa jit har gaavat sunnaa aa-ay tay parvaanaa jee-o. ||1||
Blessed is the time when God’s praises are sung and listened. Approved is the advent of such persons in this world.
ਉਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਾਣੋ, ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਾਣ। ਜਗਤ-ਵਿਚ-ਜਨਮੇ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਮਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ)
ਸੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਾ ॥
say naytar parvaan jinee darsan paykhaa.
Blessed are the eyes which have had a vision of God.
ਉਹੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅਖਵਾਣ ਦੇ ਜੋਗ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੇ ਕਰ ਭਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲੇਖਾ ॥
say kar bhalay jinee har jas laykhaa.
Bleesed are the hands, which write God’s praise.
ਉਹ ਹੱਥ ਚੰਗੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੇ ਚਰਣ ਸੁਹਾਵੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਛਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
say charan suhaav jo har maarag chalay ha-o bal tin sang pehchana jee-o. ||2||
Beautiful are the feet which walk on the path to unite with God, I dedicate myself to such people, because it is in their association that one can realize God.
ਉਹ ਪੈਰ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ (ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ) ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਅੱਖਾਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਪੈਰਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
sun saajan mayray meet pi-aaray.
O’ my dear friend and companion God, please listen to my supplication,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥
saaDhsang khin maahi uDhaaray.
Bless me the holy congregation, one is saved in an instant from the vices in the company of saintly persons.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟਿ ਹੋਆ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
kilvikh kaat ho-aa man nirmal mit ga-ay aavan jaanaa jee-o. ||3||
The sins are absolved, and mind becomes immaculate. One escapes from cycle of birth and death.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਇਕੁ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥
du-ay kar jorh ik bin-o kareejai.
Folding both hands, humbly pray to God and say:
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਇਹ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਡੁਬਦਾ ਪਥਰੁ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
kar kirpaa dubdaa pathar leejai.
O’ God, please show mercy and save me, the stone-hearted, from sinking in the world-ocean of vices.
(ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੱਬ ਰਹੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਠੋਰ-ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੨੯॥
naanak ka-o parabh bha-ay kirpaalaa parabh naanak man bhaanaa jee-o. ||4||22||29||
God has become merciful to Nanak, God is pleasing to Nanak’s mind.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ l

Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
amrit banee har har tayree.
O’ God, your divine words are the Ambrosial Nectar.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
sun sun hovai param gat mayree.
Listening it again and again, I am being elevated to the supreme spiritual state.
ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
jalan bujhee seetal ho-ay manoo-aa satgur kaa darsan paa-ay jee-o. ||1||
By the blessed vision and teaching of the Guru, the agony of my mind has ended, and I am at peace.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਸਾੜਾ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਠੰਢੀ ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਸੂਖੁ ਭਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥
sookh bha-i-aa dukh door paraanaa.
All my sorrow was dispelled, and peace prevailed in my mind,
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ (ਮੇਰਾ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ,
ਸੰਤ ਰਸਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥
sant rasan har naam vakhaanaa.
when the Guru recited praises of God’s Name.
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਨੀਰਿ ਭਰੇ ਸਰ ਸੁਭਰ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
jal thal neer bharay sar subhar birthaa ko-ay na jaa-ay jee-o. ||2||
Just as rain fills all places and streams to the overflowing, similarly in the holy congregation all are saturated with the Nectar of Naam and no one is left out.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਰਖਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਟੋਏ ਟਿੱਬੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l ਤਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ l
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
da-i-aa Dhaaree tin sirjanhaaray.
The Creator has showered His kindness;
ਉਸ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ,
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੇ ॥
jee-a jant saglay partipaaray.
and has provided sustenance to all beings and creatures.
ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਪੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸਗਲੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
miharvaan kirpaal da-i-aalaa saglay taripat aghaa-ay jee-o. ||3||
Due to the grace of Merciful, Kind and Compassionate God, all mortals who came to the Guru’s refuge are satiated and free from yearning for Maya.
ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਗਏ l
ਵਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ॥
van tarin taribhavan keeton hari-aa.
God has bestowed life on all the vegetation and creatures in the universe.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਘਾਹ ਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਵਨੀ ਜਗਤ ਹਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਕਰਣਹਾਰਿ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਕਰਿਆ ॥
karanhaar khin bheetar kari-aa.
The Creator has done all this in an instant.
ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੈ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੩੦॥
gurmukh naanak tisai araaDhay man kee aas pujaa-ay jee-o. ||4||23||30||
O’ Nanak, by following the Guru’s word, the one who meditates on Naam with lovingly devotion, God fulfills all the desires of his mind.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l

Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
tooN mayraa pitaa tooNhai mayraa maataa.
O’ God, You are my father, and You are my mother.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਉ (ਦੇ ਥਾਂ) ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਂ (ਦੇ ਥਾਂ) ਹੈ,
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੰਧਪੁ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਾ ॥
tooN mayraa banDhap tooN mayraa bharaataa.
You are my relative, and You are my brother.
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ਤਾ ਭਉ ਕੇਹਾ ਕਾੜਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
tooN mayraa raakhaa sabhnee thaa-ee taa bha-o kayhaa kaarhaa jee-o. ||1||
You are my Protector everywhere; why should I feel any fear or anxiety?
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਾਂ?
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥
tumree kirpaa tay tuDh pachhaanaa.
By Your Grace, I have recognized You.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਣਾ ॥
tooN mayree ot tooNhai mayraa maanaa.
You are my Shelter, and it is in You that I take pride.
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਫ਼ਖ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਥਾਂ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
tujh bin doojaa avar na ko-ee sabh tayraa khayl akhaarhaa jee-o. ||2||
Without You, there is no other; the entire Universe is the Arena of Your Play.
ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਉਪਾਏ ॥
jee-a jant sabh tuDh upaa-ay.
You have created all beings and creatures.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
jit jit bhaanaa tit tit laa-ay.
As it pleases You, You have assigned them to different tasks.
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਈ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਉਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ) ਲਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਅਸਾੜਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sabh kichh keetaa tayraa hovai naahee kichh asaarhaa jee-o. ||3||
All things are Your doing; we can do nothing ourselves.
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ਸਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
naam Dhi-aa-ay mahaa sukh paa-i-aa.
Meditating on Naam, I have obtained supreme bliss.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਤਾਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਬੜਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਇਆ ॥
har gun gaa-ay mayraa man seetlaa-i-aa.
By singing God’s praises, my mind has become tranquil.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਤਾ ਬਿਖਾੜਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੩੧॥
gur poorai vajee vaaDhaa-ee naanak jitaa bikhaarhaa jee-o. ||4||24||31||
O’ Nanak, by following the perfect Guru’s teachings, I have won the most difficult battle against vices, and I am being congratulated all around.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਔਖਾ ਘੋਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਾ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਹਿ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
jee-a paraan parabh maneh aDhaaraa.
For the devotees, God is the support of their body, soul and mind
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ, ਮਨ ਦਾ, ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
bhagat jeeveh gun gaa-ay apaaraa.
His devotees remain spiritually alive by singing Praises of the Infinite God.
ਭਗਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
gun niDhaan amrit har nama har Dhi-aa-ay Dhi-aa-ay sukh paa-i-aa jee-o. ||1||
God’s Name is the treasure of virtues and the Ambrosial-nectar. By lovingly meditating on God’s Name, His devotees obtain bliss.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਮਨਸਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਜੋ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਆਵੈ ॥
mansaa Dhaar jo ghar tay aavai.
The one who comes from his house to the holy congregation with heart’s desire to unite with God,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ॥
saaDhsang janam maran mitaavai.
In the Company of the saintly persons, he ends his cycles of birth and death.
ਉਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁਕਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
