ਦੋਜਕਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੈ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੈ ਬਾਣੀਆ ॥੨॥
dojak paa-ay sirjanhaarai laykhaa mangai baanee-aa. ||2||
According to the divine law they are suffering as if they are in hell, the judge of righteousness asks them for the account of their deeds. ||2||.
ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੋਜ਼ਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਧਰਮਰਾਜ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਭਈਆ ਬੇਬਾ ॥
sang na ko-ee bha-ee-aa baybaa.
At the time of departure from the world, neither any brother, nor any sister accompanies anyone.
(ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਕਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਭਰਾ ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਭੈਣ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਮਾਲੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਵਞੇਸਾ ॥
maal joban Dhan chhod vanjaysaa.
Everyone departs from here leaving behind property, youth and worldly wealth.
ਮਾਲ, ਧਨ, ਜਵਾਨੀ-ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਇਗਾ।
ਕਰਣ ਕਰੀਮ ਨ ਜਾਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਤਿਲ ਪੀੜੇ ਜਿਉ ਘਾਣੀਆ ॥੩॥
karan kareem na jaato kartaa til peerhay ji-o ghaanee-aa. ||3||
Those who have not realized the merciful Creator, would be subjected to such pain, as if they are being pressed like seeds in an oil press.||3||.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ, ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਉਂ ਪੀੜੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
ਖੁਸਿ ਖੁਸਿ ਲੈਦਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ॥
khus khus laidaa vasat paraa-ee.
(O’ man), again and again you take away things belonging to others;
ਤੂੰ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਮਾਲ-ਧਨ ਖੋਹ ਖੋਹ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਵੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਖੁਦਾਈ ॥
vaykhai sunay tayrai naal khudaa-ee.
God always abides with You watching and listening to whatever you do or say.
ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰੱਬ (ਤੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇਰੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਬੋਲ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਲਬਿ ਪਇਆ ਖਾਤ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਅਗਲੀ ਗਲ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥੪॥
dunee-aa lab pa-i-aa khaat andar aglee gal na jaanee-aa. ||4||
You are so engrossed in the worldly tastes, as if you have fallen into a deep pit and do not understand what would happen next. ||4||
ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ (ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ) ਦੇ ਚਸਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ (ਮਾਨੋ ਡੂੰਘੇ) ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ। ਅਗਾਂਹ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੪॥
ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ॥
jam jam marai marai fir jammai.
One keeps being born to die again and again because of his love for Maya.
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮ ਕੇ (ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ) ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ਦੇਸਿ ਲੰਮੈ ॥
bahut sajaa-ay pa-i-aa days lammai.
He is subjected to intense punishment and remains on a long journey of births and deaths.
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ (ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦੇ) ਲੰਮੇ ਪੈਂਡੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਅੰਧਾ ਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹੈ ਪਰਾਣੀਆ ॥੫॥
jin keetaa tisai na jaanee anDhaa taa dukh sahai paraanee-aa. ||5||
The spiritually ignorant person does not recognize God who created him, therefore he keeps suffering in misery. ||5||
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਕੇਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਖਾਲਕ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਮੁਠਾ ॥
khaalak thaavhu bhulaa muthaa.
Forgetting the Creator-God, one is cheated out of his divine virtues;
ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਲੁਟਾ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਖੇਲੁ ਬੁਰਾ ਰੁਠ ਤੁਠਾ ॥
dunee-aa khayl buraa ruth tuthaa.
because of the stress of this worldly play at times he is sad and at other times he feels happy.
ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਾ (ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ), ਕਦੇ ਇਹ ਘਬਰਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਇਹ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਬਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਸਬੂਰੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਤੈ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥੬॥
sidak sabooree sant na mili-o vatai aapan bhaanee-aa. ||6||
One who does not meet and follow the Guru’s teachings, following his own mind, he just wanders around; such a person does not have faith or contentment ||6||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਨਾਹ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਸਬਰ ॥੬॥
ਮਉਲਾ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਆਪੇ ॥ ਇਕਿ ਕਢੇ ਇਕਿ ਲਹਰਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥
ma-ulaa khayl karay sabh aapay. ik kadhay ik lahar vi-aapay.
God Himself stages the entire play of the world; to some God pulls out of the waves of love for Maya, while others remain entangled in these.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੇਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਐਸੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਉ ਨਚਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਨਚਨਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਿਰਤ ਵਿਹਾਣੀਆ ॥੭॥
ji-o nachaa-ay ti-o ti-o nachan sir sir kirat vihaanee-aa. ||7||
People act as God wants them to act; everyone lives their lives according to their past deeds. ||7||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਵ ਨੱਚਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ॥੭॥
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
mihar karay taa khasam Dhi-aa-ee.
If God Himself bestows mercy, only then I can lovingly remember Him.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
santaa sangat narak na paa-ee.
One who remains in the company of saints, does not endure hell-like sufferings.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਣ ਗੀਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਵਖਾਣੀਆ ॥੮॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥੨੦॥
amrit naam daan naanak ka-o gun geetaa nit vakhaanee-aa. ||8||2||8||12||20||
O’ God, bless me, Nanak, with the gift of the ambrosial Naam so that I may always sing the songs of Your praises. ||8||2||8||12||20||.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ-ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ, (ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੮॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥੨੦॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
saachaa sach so-ee avar na ko-ee.
God alone is eternal and everlasting and no one else.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ।
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜੀ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥
jin sirjee tin hee fun go-ee.
God who has created this creation, has also destroyed it.
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਇਹ ਰਚਨਾ) ਰਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ)।
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਹਣਾ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਕਰਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
ji-o bhaavai ti-o raakho rahnaa tum si-o ki-aa mukraa-ee hay. ||1||
O’ God, You keep us as it pleases You, how could we disobey You. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਹੁਕਮ) ਅੱਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹਿ-ਨੁੱਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਖਪਾਏ ॥
aap upaa-ay aap khapaa-ay.
God Himself creates the beings, and Himself destroys them.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਏ ॥
aapay sir sir DhanDhai laa-ay.
God Himself engages each and everyone to his task.
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਧੰਧੇ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
aapay veechaaree gunkaaree aapay maarag laa-ee hay. ||2||
God Himself contemplates the deeds of human beings, He Himself blesses them with virtues and Himself puts them on the righteous path in life. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਆਪੇ ਦਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਬੀਨਾ ॥
aapay daanaa aapay beenaa.
God Himself is omniscient (the all knowing, wise and sees everything).
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਪਤੀਨਾ ॥
aapay aap upaa-ay pateenaa.
God is feeling elated after manifesting Himself in the creation.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ (ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
aapay pa-un paanee baisantar aapay mayl milaa-ee hay. ||3||
God Himself has created air, water and fire; He Himself puts these together and created the world. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਵਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੱਗ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ,, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਸਸਿ ਸੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੋ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
aapay sas sooraa pooro pooraa.
God Himself is the moon and the sun, the perfect light, pervading everywhere.
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੂਰਜ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੂਰਾ ॥
aapay gi-aan Dhi-aan gur sooraa.
God Himself is divine wisdom, meditation and the brave Guru.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
kaal jaal jam johi na saakai saachay si-o liv laa-ee hay. ||4||
Whosoever has focused his mind on the eternal God, the fear of death cannot touch that person. ||4||
ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਲਗਨ ਲਾਈ ਹੈ ਜਮ-ਰਾਜ ਉਸ ਵਲ ਤੱਕ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪॥
ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
aapay purakh aapay hee naaree.
God Himself is every man and He Himself is every woman.
(ਹਰੇਕ) ਮਰਦ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
aapay paasaa aapay saaree.
God Himself is the worldly play and He Himself is the player in it.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਰੂਪ) ਚਉਪੜ (ਦੀ ਖੇਡ) ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਚਉਪੜ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-) ਨਰਦਾਂ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਪਿੜ ਬਾਧੀ ਜਗੁ ਖੇਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
aapay pirh baaDhee jag khaylai aapay keemat paa-ee hay. ||5||
He Himself sets the world arena, Himself plays in it and evaluates it. ||5||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ (ਚਉਪੜ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ-ਰੂਪ) ਪਿੜ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਆਪੇ ਭਵਰੁ ਫੁਲੁ ਫਲੁ ਤਰਵਰੁ ॥
aapay bhavar ful fal tarvar.
God Himself is the bumble-bee, the flower, fruit, and the tree.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਭੌਰਾ ਹੈਂ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਫੁੱਲ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਫਲ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੈਂ।
ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਥਲੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ॥
aapay jal thal saagar sarvar.
God Himself is the water, the desert, the ocean and the pool.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈਂ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤਲਾਬ ਹੈਂ।
ਆਪੇ ਮਛੁ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਣੀਕਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਲਖਣਾ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
aapay machh kachh karneekar tayraa roop na lakh-naa jaa-ee hay. ||6||
He Himself is the fish, the tortoise, and the creator and cause of everything: O’ God, Your form cannot be comprehended. ||6||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੱਛ ਹੈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕੱਛੂ ਹੈਂ। (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਸਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਕੀਹ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੬॥
ਆਪੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰੈਣੀ ॥
aapay dinas aapay hee rainee.
God Himself is the day and Himself the night.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਾਤ ਹੈ,
ਆਪਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬੈਣੀ ॥
aap pateejai gur kee bainee.
He Himself gets pleased through the Guru’s word.
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
aad jugaad anaahad an-din ghat ghat sabad rajaa-ee hay. ||7||
The eternal God has always been here from the very beginning and throughout the ages; His divine word is always pervading each and every heart. ||7||
ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ, ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਸੇ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰੌ ਰੁਮਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਆਪੇ ਰਤਨੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਅਮੋਲੋ ॥
aapay ratan anoop amolo.
God Himself is the invaluable jewel of incomparable beauty whose worth cannot be evaluated.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਰਤਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਤੋਲੋ ॥
aapay parkhay pooraa tolo.
God Himself evaluates Himself and evaluates it perfectly.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਰਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
