ਕਹਤਿਅਹ ਕਹਤੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਰਹਤ ਕੋ ਖੁਸੀ ਨ ਆਯਉ ॥
kehti-ah kahtee sunee rahat ko khusee na aa-ya-o.
I heard them preaching others, but their own living did not please me.
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਣੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਰਹਤ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੇ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਉ ॥
har naam chhod doojai lagay tinH kay gun ha-o ki-aa kaha-o.
How can I say anything in the praises of those who have forsaken God and are engrossed in the love for materialism?
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਹ ਆਖਾਂ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ) ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ?
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਯਿ ਮਿਲਾਯਉ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਜਿਵ ਤੂ ਰਖਹਿ ਤਿਵ ਰਹਉ ॥੨॥੨੦॥
gur da-yi milaa-ya-o bhikhi-aa jiv too rakheh tiv raha-o. ||2||20||
O’ Guru Amardas, God has united me, Bhikha, with you; I would live as you please. ||2||20||
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ)! ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਹਰੀ) ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ, ਭਿਖੇ ਨੂੰ, ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਖੇਂਗਾ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ ॥੨॥੨੦॥
ਪਹਿਰਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਨਾਹੁ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਹੈ ਆਸਣਿ ਚੜਿਅਉ ॥
pahir samaaDh sanaahu gi-aan hai aasan charhi-a-o.
Wearing the armor of devotional worship and remembrance of God, the Guru has mounted the saddled horse of divine knowledge.
ਸਮਾਧੀ-ਰੂਪ ਸੰਨਾਹ (ਜ਼ਿਰਹ-ਬਖ਼ਤਰ) ਪਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਰੂਪ ਘੋੜੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਆਸਣ ਜਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਧ੍ਰੰਮ ਧਨਖੁ ਕਰ ਗਹਿਓ ਭਗਤ ਸੀਲਹ ਸਰਿ ਲੜਿਅਉ ॥
Dharamm Dhanakh kar gahi-o bhagat seelah sar larhi-a-o.
Holding the bow of righteousness in his hands, the Guru is fighting against the enemy (evil impulses) with the arrows of the humility of devotees.
ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਧਨੁਖ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੀਲ-ਰੂਪ ਤੀਰ ਨਾਲ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਲੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਭੈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਅਟਲੁ ਮਨਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰ ਨੇਜਾ ਗਡਿਓ ॥
bhai nirbha-o har atal man sabad gur nayjaa gadi-o.
Guru Amardas is fearless due to God’s revered fear and by virtues of the true Guru’s word, he has enshrined the eternal God in his mind as if he has planted a spear in the battle against vices;
ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਭਉ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਨੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ-ਇਹ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਨੋ), ਨੇਜਾ ਗੱਡਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ;
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਪਤੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਬਿਖੰਡਿਓ ॥
kaam kroDh lobh moh apat panch doot bikhandi-o.
he has destroyed the five demons of lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego.
ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਲੋਭ, ਮੋਹ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਲਉ ਭੂਹਾਲੁ ਤੇਜੋ ਤਨਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਰਿ ॥
bhala-o bhoohaal tayjo tanaa nript naath naanak bar.
O’ Guru Amardas, son of Tej Bhan, you are supreme in the dynasty of Bhallas, and by the virtue of Guru Nanak’s blessings you are the king of kings.
ਤੇਜਭਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ! ਤੂੰ ਭੱਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਵਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਸਚੁ ਸਲ੍ ਭਣਿ ਤੈ ਦਲੁ ਜਿਤਉ ਇਵ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿ ॥੧॥੨੧॥
gur amardaas sach sal-y bhan tai dal jita-o iv juDh kar. ||1||21||
Bart Salh says this truth; O Guru Amardas, by fighting the battle this way, you have conquered the army of evils. ||1||21||
ਸਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਕਵੀ (ਇਉਂ) ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ! ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਇਹ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਦਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥੨੧॥
ਘਨਹਰ ਬੂੰਦ ਬਸੁਅ ਰੋਮਾਵਲਿ ਕੁਸਮ ਬਸੰਤ ਗਨੰਤ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
ghanhar boond basu-a romaaval kusam basant ganant na aavai.
The raindrops of the clouds, the plants of the earth, and the flowers of the spring cannot be counted.
ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਣੀਆਂ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ, ਬਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਉਦਰੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੋ ਗੰਗ ਤਰੰਗ ਅੰਤੁ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
rav sas kiran udar saagar ko gang tarang ant ko paavai.
Who can know the limits of the rays of the sun and the moon, the extent of the ocean and the waves of river Ganges?
ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਪੇਟ ਗੰਗਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਠਿਲ੍ਹਾਂ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕੌਣ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਕਬਿ ਜਨ ਭਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ ਉਨਹ ਜੋੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
rudr Dhi-aan gi-aan satgur kay kab jan bhal-y unah jo gaavai.
O’ bart Bhall, one may make an estimate about these things, by perfectly meditating like Shiva or through the knowledge blessed by the true Guru.
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਹੇ ਭਲ੍ ਕਵੀ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਪਰ-ਦੱਸੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ
ਭਲੇ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੋਹਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥੨੨॥
bhalay amardaas gun tayray tayree upmaa tohi ban aavai. ||1||22||
O’ Guru Amardas of Bhallas clan, your virtues cannot be counted and your praise befits only you. ||1||22||
ਪਰ ਭੱਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਏ ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ। ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥੨੨
ਸਵਈਏ ਮਹਲੇ ਚਉਥੇ ਕੇ ੪
sava-ee-ay mahlay cha-uthay kay 4
Swaiyas in praise of the Fourth Guru by the barts:
ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਉਚਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਵਈਏ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
ik man purakh niranjan Dhi-aava-o.
I may single-mindedly remember the immaculate God with adoration,
ਮੈਂ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ-ਮਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਾਂ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
gur parsaad har gun sad gaava-o.
by the Guru’s grace, I may always sing praises of God,
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਂ,
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਗਾਸਾ ||
gun gaavat man ho-ay bigaasaa.
and while singing His praises my mind may blossom in delight:
ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰਿ ਜਨਹ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
satgur poor janah kee aasaa.
O’ the true Guru, please fulfill the wish of this devotee.
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਯਉ ॥
satgur sayv param pad paa-ya-o.
Guru Ramdas has attained the supreme spiritual state by serving and following the teachings of Guru Amardas,
ਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਉੱਚੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ,
ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਬਿਗਤੁ ਧਿਆਯਉ ॥
abhinaasee abigat Dhi-aa-ya-o.
and has lovingly remembered the eternal and formless God;
ਅਤੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਦਾਰਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਚੰਪੈ ॥
tis bhaytay daaridar na champai.
destitution does not afflict by meeting and serving Guru Ramdas.
ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ) ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ, ਦਲਿੱਦ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੰਬੜਦਾ,
ਕਲ੍ ਸਹਾਰੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਗੁਣ ਜੰਪੈ ॥
kal-y sahaar taas gun jampai.
Bart Kall Sahaar is singing the praises of Guru Ramdas,
ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯਸਹਾਰ ਕਵੀ ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੰਪਉ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਮਲ ਸੁਜਨ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੇ ਅਮਿਅ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਫੁਰਿਆ ॥
jampa-o gun bimal sujan jan kayray ami-a naam jaa ka-o furi-aa.
I utter the immaculate virtues of that sublime person, Guru Ramdas, who has realized God’s ambrosial Name.
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਜਨ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਇਨਿ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਬਦ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਯਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਉਰਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
in satgur sayv sabad ras paa-yaa naam niranjan ur Dhari-aa.
Guru Ramdas has attained the bliss of the divine word by serving Guru Amardas, and has enshrined the Name of the immaculate God in his heart.
ਇਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੇ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿਕੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਚਾਹਕੁ ਤਤ ਸਮਤ ਸਰੇ ॥
har naam rasik gobind gun gaahak chaahak tat samat saray.
Guru Ramdas is the enjoyer of God’s Name, appreciates Divine virtues, loves God, and views all with such equal regard, as if he is the pool of equality.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ) ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸੀਆ ਹੈ, ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਾਹਕ ਹੈ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਮ-ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੈ।
ਕਵਿ ਕਲ੍ ਠਕੁਰ ਹਰਦਾਸ ਤਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਰ ਅਭਰ ਭਰੇ ॥੧॥
kav kal-y thakur hardaas tanay gur raamdaas sar abhar bharay. ||1||
O’ poet Kall! Guru Ramdas, the son of Thakur Hardas, fills the empty hearts with the nectar Naam. ||1||
ਹੇ ਕਲ੍ ਕਵੀ! ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ) ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਸਰੋਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਛੁਟਤ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਅਮਿਅ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਸਦ ਭਰਿਆ ॥
chhutat parvaah ami-a amraa pad amrit sarovar sad bhari-aa.
Guru Ramdas is like a lake which is always filled with ambrosial nectar, from which flow the streams of ambrosia giving immortal status to the devotees.
ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦਾ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਟੱਲ ਪਦਵੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਚਸ਼ਮੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੇ ਪੀਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਪੁਬ ਜਿਨਹੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀਆ ॥
tay peeveh sant karahi man majan pub jinahu sayvaa karee-aa.
Only those saints who have previously followed the Guru’s teachings drink this nectar and bathe their mind in it.
ਇਸ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਅਤੇ) ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਨ ਭਉ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਅਨਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਦੀਨਾ ਸਬਦ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਉਧਰ ਧਰੇ ॥
tin bha-o nivaar anbhai pad deenaa sabad matar tay uDhar Dharay.
Stilling their fear, Guru Ramdas has blessed them with the state of fearlessness, and has emancipated them by providing them with the support of divine word.
ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ) ਦਾ ਭਉ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਵਿ ਕਲ੍ ਠਕੁਰ ਹਰਦਾਸ ਤਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਰ ਅਭਰ ਭਰੇ ॥੨॥

ਹੇ ਕਲ੍ ਕਵੀ! ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ (ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਰੂਪ) ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਸਰੋਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਸਤਗੁਰ ਮਤਿ ਗੂੜ੍ਹ੍ ਬਿਮਲ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੁ ਭਯਾ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਤ ਸੰਗਤ ਹੈ; ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਾਗ੍ਯ੍ਯਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਵਲੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਪਰਕਾਸ੍ਯ੍ਯਾ ਅਭੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਘਰਹਿ ਲਹਾ ॥
jaag-yaa man kaval sahj parkaas-yaa abhai niranjan ghareh lahaa.
The mind of Guru Ramdas is enlightened, his lotus-like heart has blossomed in a state of poise and he has realized the fearless immaculate God within his heart.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦਾ) ਕਉਲ ਫੁੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ) ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
