ਇਕੁ ਬਿੰਨਿ ਦੁਗਣ ਜੁ ਤਉ ਰਹੈ ਜਾ ਸੁਮੰਤ੍ਰਿ ਮਾਨਵਹਿ ਲਹਿ ॥
ik binn dugan jo ta-o rahai jaa sumantar maanvahi leh.
The sense of duality vanishes only when one realizes God through the sublime mantra (teachings) of the Guru.
ਜੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਾਲਪਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਇਤੜੇ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸਿ ਡਿਠੈ ਮਿਲਹਿ ॥੫॥੧੪॥
jaalpaa padaarath it-rhay gur amardaas dithai mileh. ||5||14||
O’ Jaalap, so many blessings are attained by seeing Guru Amardas. ||5||14||
ਹੇ ਜਾਲਪ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਜੋ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੱਸੇ ਹਨ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਡਿੱਠਿਆਂ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫॥੧੪॥
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ਸੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਨਾਨਕਿ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿਅਉ ॥
sach naam kartaar so darirh naanak sangar-hi-a-o.
Guru Nanak has firmly perceived the eternal Name of the Creator-God;
(ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਨਕ (ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਨੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪੱਕੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕੀਤਾ;
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਲਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿ ਤਾਸੁ ਚਰਣਹ ਲਿਵ ਰਹਿਅਉ ॥
taa tay angad lahnaa pargat taas charnah liv rahi-a-o.
Lehna manifested as Guru Angad Dev by humbly serving and remaining focused on his (Guru Nanak’s) teachings.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਹਣਾ ਜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਲਾ ਰੱਖੀ।
ਤਿਤੁ ਕੁਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਆਸਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਗੁਣ ਕਵਣ ਵਖਾਣਉ ॥
tit kul gur amardaas aasaa nivaas taas gun kavan vakhaana-o.
In that lineage manifested Guru Amardas who fulfills all hopes; which of his virtues I may describe?
ਉਸ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ, ਆਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ, (ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ)। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸਾਂ?
ਜੋ ਗੁਣ ਅਲਖ ਅਗੰਮ ਤਿਨਹ ਗੁਣ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਉ ॥
jo gun alakh agamm tinah gun ant na jaana-o.
These virtues which are unknowable and unfathomable, I do not know the limits of those Virtues.
ਉਹ ਗੁਣ ਅਲੱਖ ਤੇ ਅਗੰਮ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
ਬੋਹਿਥਉ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਨਿਰਮਯੌ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਉਧਰਣ ॥
bohitha-o biDhaatai niramyou sabh sangat kul uDhran.
The Creator-God has made Guru Amardas like a ship to carry all the holy congregation and the lineages across the world-ocean of vices.
ਸਾਰੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ) ਇਕ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ;
ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਕੀਰਤੁ ਕਹੈ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤੁਅ ਪਾ ਸਰਣ ॥੧॥੧੫॥
gur amardaas keerat kahai taraahi taraahi tu-a paa saran. ||1||15||
The bart Keerat says: O’ Guru Amardas, I have come to your refuge, please protect and save me. ||1||15||
ਕੀਰਤ (ਭੱਟ) ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ (ਜੀ)! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥੧੫॥
ਆਪਿ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਕਲਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਵਰਿਯਉ ॥
aap naraa-in kalaa Dhaar jag meh parvari-ya-o.
Guru Amardas himself is the embodiment of God who, assuming His power, has entered the world.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਰਾਇਣ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਿ ਆਕਾਰੁ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਕਰਿਯਉ ॥
nirankaar aakaar jot jag mandal kari-ya-o.
The formless God, assuming the form of Guru Amardas, has enlightened the world with His light (divine knowledge).
ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ) ਅਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਕਹ ਤਹ ਭਰਪੂਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਦੀਪਕਿ ਦੀਪਾਯਉ ॥
jah kah tah bharpoor sabad deepak deepaa-ya-o.
God who is pervading everywhere has made the divine word (Naam) manifest everywhere through Guru Amardas as the Divine Lamp.
(ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨੇ)ਜੋ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ-ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੈ,ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ (-ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ-ਰੂਪ) ਦੀਵੇ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਖਹ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿਓ ਤਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਮਿਲਾਯਉ ॥
jih sikhah sangarahi-o tat har charan milaa-ya-o.
The disciples who have grasped the divine word, Guru Amardas promptly united them with God’s Name.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਤੁਰਤ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੁਲਿ ਨਿੰਮਲੁ ਅਵਤਰ੍ਯ੍ਯਿਉ ਅੰਗਦ ਲਹਣੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੁਅ ॥
naanak kul nimmal avtar-yi-o angad lahnay sang hu-a.
Lehna (Guru Angad) and Guru Amardas have been reincarnated into the immaculate lineage of Guru Nanak.
ਲਹਿਣੇ ਅੰਗਦ ਨੇ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਸਮੇਤ, ਗੁਰੂ ਲਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਖਾਨਦਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ।
ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਪਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਅ ॥੨॥੧੬॥
gur amardaas taaran taran janam janam paa saran tu-a. ||2||16||
O’ Guru Amardas, you are like a ship to ferry people across the world ocean of vices; I wish that I may remain in your refuge birth after birth. ||2||16||
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ! ਹੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਤਾਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਹਾਜ਼! ਮੈਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ (ਰਹਾਂ) ॥੨॥੧੬॥
ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਪਿਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖਹ ॥
jap tap sat santokh pikh darsan gur sikhah.
By seeing the blessed vision of Guru Amardas, the Guru’s disciples attain the merits of worship, penance, truth, and contentment.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਹਿ ਤੇ ਉਬਰਹਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਮ ਪੁਰ ਕੀ ਲਿਖਹ ॥
saran pareh tay ubrahi chhod jam pur kee likhah.
Those who seek the Guru’s refuge escape the preordained writ of suffering in the hands of the demon of death, and cross over the world-ocean of vices.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਮ-ਪੁਰੀ ਦੀ ਲਿਖਤ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਭਰਪੂਰੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਉਚਰੈ ਕਰਤਾਰੈ ॥
bhagat bhaa-ay bharpoor ridai uchrai kartaarai.
The heart of Guru Amardas is filled with God’s loving devotion, and he always lovingly remembers the creator-God.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ) ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਗੁਰੁ ਗਉਹਰੁ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਪਲਕ ਡੁਬੰਤ੍ਯ੍ਯਹ ਤਾਰੈ ॥
gur ga-uhar daree-aa-o palak dubaNt-yah taarai.
The Guru Amardas is profound and compassionate, and in an instant he ferries across those who are drowning in the world-ocean of vices.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੈ, ਦਰੀਆ-ਦਿਲ ਹੈ, ਡੁੱਬਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੁਲਿ ਨਿੰਮਲੁ ਅਵਤਰ੍ਯ੍ਯਿਉ ਗੁਣ ਕਰਤਾਰੈ ਉਚਰੈ ॥
naanak kul nimmal avtar-yi-o gun kartaarai uchrai.
Guru Amardas has been incarnated in the immaculate lineage of Guru Nanak, and he utters the virtues of the Creator-God.
(ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਨਕ (ਦੇਵ ਜੀ) ਦੀ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨਿਰਮਲ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਸੇਵਿਅਉ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੩॥੧੭॥
gur amardaas jinH sayvi-a-o tinH dukh daridar parhar parai. ||3||17||
Those who have served and followed Guru Amardas’s teachings, their misery and destitution goes away. ||3||17||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਦਰਿਦ੍ਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੧੭॥
ਚਿਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਹਉ ਪਰੁ ਕਹਿ ਭਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ॥
chit chitva-o ardaas kaha-o par kahi bhe na saka-o.
(O’ Guru Amardas) I consciously pray within my mind, but I cannot express it in words.
(ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ!) ਮੈਂ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ (ਇਕ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਆਖਾਂ; ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਖ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ;
ਸਰਬ ਚਿੰਤ ਤੁਝੁ ਪਾਸਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਉ ਤਕਉ ॥
sarab chint tujh paas saaDhsangat ha-o taka-o.
I place all my worries and anxieties before You and I look toward saintly congregation for moral support.
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹਨ), ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ (ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ) ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੇਰੈ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਪਵੈ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਤਉ ਕਰਉ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
tayrai hukam pavai neesaan ta-o kara-o saahib kee sayvaa.
If in your will I am blessed with the insignia of your approval, then I may serve the Master-God by remembering Him with adoration.
(ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ!) ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂ।
ਜਬ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖੈ ਸੁਭ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਵਾ ॥
jab gur daykhai subh disat naam kartaa mukh mayvaa.
When the Guru sees someone with a gracious glance, then that person utters the sweet Name of the Creator from his mouth.
ਜਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਫਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ, ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਗਮ ਅਲਖ ਕਾਰਣ ਪੁਰਖ ਜੋ ਫੁਰਮਾਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਹਉ ॥
agam alakh kaaran purakh jo furmaaveh so kaha-o.
O’ Guru Amardas, the embodiment of the unfathomable, incomprehensible, and the creator of the universe, I say only what you command.
ਹੇ ਅਗਮ-ਰੂਪ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਹੇ ਅਲੱਖ ਹਰੀ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ! ਹੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਪੁਰਖ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ! ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸੋਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ਜਿਵ ਤੂ ਰਖਹਿ ਤਿਵ ਰਹਉ ॥੪॥੧੮॥
gur amardaas kaaran karan jiv too rakheh tiv raha-o. ||4||18||
O’ Guru Amar Daas, the embodiment of God who is the cause and the creator of the universe, I live as you keep me. ||4||18||
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਕਰਤਾ-ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧੮॥

ਸਵੱਯੇ ਭਿੱਖੇ ਭੱਟ ਦੇ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਅਰੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਤਤ ਸਿਉ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
gur gi-aan ar Dhi-aan tat si-o tat milaavai.
Guru Amardas possess complete divine knowledge and is firmlyfocused on God; he has united his soul with God.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗਿਆਨ-ਰੂਪ ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ); (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਚਿ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਹਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
sach sach jaanee-ai ik chiteh liv laavai.
The Guru always remains united with God, therefore he should be considered as His embodiment; Guru Amardas remains focused on God with single-minded concentration.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ-ਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਏ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਵ ਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਸਿ ਕਰੈ ਪਵਣੁ ਉਡੰਤ ਨ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
kaam kroDh vas karai pavan udant na Dhaavai.
Guru Amardas keeps lust and anger under his control, his mind does not wander around.
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ (ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲ) ਦੌੜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਕੈ ਵਸੈ ਦੇਸਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੁਝਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
nirankaar kai vasai days hukam bujh beechaar paavai.
He remains so absorbed in the formless God as if he resides in His abode and has received divine knowledge by understanding His will.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਹੁਕਮ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ) ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਲਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਅਉ ॥
kal maahi roop kartaa purakh so jaanai jin kichh kee-a-o.
In the age of Kalyug, Guru Amardas is the embodiment of the Creator-God and only God knows who has created this wondrous play
ਕਲਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ) ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ; (ਇਸ ਕੌਤਕ ਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਅਚਰਜ ਕੌਤਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲ੍ਯ੍ਯਿਉ ਸੋਇ ਭਿਖਾ ਕਹੈ ਸਹਜ ਰੰਗਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਅਉ ॥੧॥੧੯॥
gur mili-ya-o so-ay bhikhaa kahai sahj rang darsan dee-a-o. ||1||19||
Bard Bhikha says, I have realized Guru Amardas, and he has blessed me with his vision in his loving and poised state.||1||19||
ਭਿੱਖਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ) ਪੂਰਨ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥੧੯॥
ਰਹਿਓ ਸੰਤ ਹਉ ਟੋਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਡਿਠੇ ॥
rahi-o sant ha-o tol saaDh bahutayray dithay.
I am exhausted searching for the true saints, and I have seen many such saints
ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਲਦਾ ਟੋਲਦਾ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕਈ ਸਾਧ (ਭੀ) ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ.
ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਤਪਸੀਅਹ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਏ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮਿਠੇ ॥
sani-aasee tapsee-ah mukhahu ay pandit mithay.
I have come across many recluses, penitents, pundits and sweet talkers
ਕਈ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ, ਕਈ ਤਪੱਸਵੀ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਇਹ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ-ਮਿੱਠੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ (ਭੀ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ)।
ਬਰਸੁ ਏਕੁ ਹਉ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਕਿਨੈ ਨਹੁ ਪਰਚਉ ਲਾਯਉ ॥
baras ayk ha-o firi-o kinai nahu parcha-o laa-ya-o.
For one full year I roamed and wandered, but no one could give me anysatisfaction.
ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਸਾਲ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ;
