ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
aad ant maDh parabh so-ee.
The same God was there in the beginning, is present now and would be here in the end.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਚ, ਹੁਣ ਤੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ l
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
aapay kartaa karay so ho-ee.
Whatever the Creator does Himself, that alone comes to pass.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ|
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗ ਤੇ ਦਾਲਿਦ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਘਾਲਕਾ ॥੬॥
bharam bha-o miti-aa saaDhsang tay daalid na ko-ee ghaalkaa. ||6||
Those whose doubt and dread is removed in the holy congregation, no pain or adversity can spiritually destroy them. ||6||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ , ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੬॥
ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਉ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥
ootam banee gaa-o gopaalaa.
O’ my friends, sing the sublime divine word in praise of God of the universe.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਮੰਗਹੁ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥
saaDhsangat kee mangahu ravaalaa.
Ask for the dust (humble service) of the feet of the congregation of saints.
(ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਬਾਸਨ ਮੇਟਿ ਨਿਬਾਸਨ ਹੋਈਐ ਕਲਮਲ ਸਗਲੇ ਜਾਲਕਾ ॥੭॥
baasan mayt nibaasan ho-ee-ai kalmal saglay jaalkaa. ||7||
We become desire-free and burn down all our sins by eradicating our yearning for worldly desires. ||7||
ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਾਸਨਾਂ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਵਾਸਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾੜ ਲਈਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੭॥
ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ॥
santaa kee ih reet niraalee.
O’ my friends, this is the unique way of life of the saints,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਇਹ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਚਾਲ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਨਾਲੀ ॥
paarbarahm kar daykheh naalee.
that they always envision supreme God with them.
ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ) ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਆਰਾਧਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਉ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕੀਜੈ ਆਲਕਾ ॥੮॥
saas saas aaraaDhan har har ki-o simrat keejai aalkaa. ||8||
They lovingly remember God with each and every breath; how can anyone be too lazy to remember God? ||8||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ;ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਨੁਖ ਆਲਸ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੮॥
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
jah daykhaa tah antarjaamee.
O’ the omniscient God, wherever I look, I envision You.
ਹੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਧਰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ)।
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
nimakh na visrahu parabh mayray su-aamee.
O’ my Master-God, bless me that I may not forget You even for an instant.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ), ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਵਿਸਰ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾ ਬਨਿ ਜਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਥਾਲਕਾ ॥੯॥
simar simar jeeveh tayray daasaa ban jal pooran thaalkaa. ||9||
O’ God, Your devotees spiritually survive by always remembering You with adoration; O’ God! You pervade in forests, water and land. ||9||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੂੰ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਥਲ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ॥੯॥
ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
tatee vaa-o na taa ka-o laagai.
O’ my friends, no adversity or misery afflicts that person,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
simrat naam an-din jaagai.
who remains alert to the worldly allurements and vices by always remembering God with loving devotion.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਤਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੦॥
anad binod karay har simran tis maa-i-aa sang na taalkaa. ||10||
That person enjoys bliss and delight in remembrance of God; He does not keep any attachment with Maya, the worldly riches and power. ||10||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਦੂਖ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
rog sog dookh tis naahee.
O’ my friends, that person does not suffer from any malady, sorrow, or pain,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਹੀ ॥
saaDhsang har keertan gaahee.
who sings praises of God in the holy congregation.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਖਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੧॥
aapnaa naam deh parabh pareetam sun baynantee khaalkaa. ||11||
O’ beloved God, the creator of the world, please listen to my humble request and bless me with Your Name. ||11||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਖ਼ਲਕਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਮੇਰੀ ਭੀ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ ॥੧੧॥
ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
naam ratan tayraa hai pi-aaray.
O’ my Beloved God, Your Name is like a precious jewel.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ।
ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਾਸ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
rang ratay tayrai daas apaaray.
O’ infinite God, Your devotees remain imbued with Your love.
ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਹੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਈ ਭਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੨॥
tayrai rang ratay tuDh jayhay virlay kay-ee bhaalkaa. ||12||
O’ God! those who are imbued with Your love, they become like You; but such devotees of Yours are rarely found. ||12||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੨॥
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਧੂੜਿ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
tin kee Dhoorh maaNgai man mayraa.
O’ God, my mind prays for the dust of the feet (the most humble service) of such devotees of Yours,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਾਹੂ ਬੇਰਾ ॥
jin visrahi naahee kaahoo bayraa.
who do not forsake You at any time.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੩॥
tin kai sang param pad paa-ee sadaa sangee har naalkaa. ||13||
In their company, I may also achieve supreme spiritual status, because You become their constant companion and always remain with them. ||13||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂ, ਕਿਓਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧੩॥
ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
saajan meet pi-aaraa so-ee.
O’ my friends, that person alone is my beloved friend and companion,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਜਣ ਹੈ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ,
ਏਕੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
ayk drirh-aa-ay durmat kho-ee.
who firmly implants the remembrance of God in my heart, and rids me of my evil-mindedness.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮੱਤ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ|
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਤਜਾਏ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੪॥
kaam kroDh ahaNkaar tajaa-ay tis jan ka-o updays nirmaalkaa. ||14||
Purifying are the teachings of that person, who helps me to get rid of my lust, anger and ego. ||14||
ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਖਹਿੜਾ ਛਡਾ ਦੇਵੇ ॥੧੪॥
ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
tuDh vin naahee ko-ee mayraa.
O’ God, other than You, I have no one else to support me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ (ਸਹਾਰਾ) ਨਹੀਂ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪਕੜਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਪੈਰਾ ॥
gur pakrhaa-ay parabh kay pairaa.
The Guru has united me with God’s immaculate Name.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਫੜਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਖੰਡਿਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਅਨਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੫॥
ha-o balihaaree satgur pooray jin khandi-aa bharam anaalkaa. ||15||
I am dedicated to the perfect true Guru, who has destroyed my doubt and illusion of duality. ||15||
ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਰਸ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਦਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
saas saas parabh bisrai naahee.
I wish that I may not forget God with any of breath,
ਮੇਰੀ ਇਛਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਭੁਲਾਂ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਉ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
aath pahar har har ka-o Dhi-aa-ee.
I may always keep remembering God with loving devotion.
ਮੈਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੬॥੪॥੧੩॥
naanak sant tayrai rang raatay too samrath vadaalkaa. ||16||4||13||
O’ Nanak! Your saints are imbued with Your love, and You are the greatest and most powerful. ||16||4||13||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧੬॥੪॥੧੩॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਿਤ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
charan kamal hirdai nit Dhaaree.
O’ brother, if God bestows mercy, then I may always keep the Guru’s teachings enshrined in my heart,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਣ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਾਂ,
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੀ ॥
gur pooraa khin khin namaskaaree.
and may keep paying respect to my perfect Guru at each and every moment.
ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਖਿਨ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ|
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਧਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਆਗੈ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ॥੧॥
tan man arap Dharee sabh aagai jag meh naam suhaavanaa. ||1||
I wish to surrender my body, mind and everything and place before the Guru; God’s Name is the most beauteous thing in the world. ||1||
ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਆਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥
so thaakur ki-o manhu visaaray.
O’ brother, why do you forsake that Master-God from your mind,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦੇ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
jee-o pind day saaj savaaray.
who creates you by giving you body and soul, and embellishes you?
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਸਾਸਿ ਗਰਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥੨॥
saas garaas samaalay kartaa keetaa apnaa paavnaa. ||2||
Remember the Creator with every breath and morsel, because one reaps the fruits of his deeds. ||2||
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ, ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਰੱਖ। ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਊ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jaa tay birthaa ko-oo naahee.
O’ brother, from whom nobody goes empty handed,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜਦਾ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਰਖੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
aath pahar har rakh man maahee.
always keep that God enshrined in your mind.
ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖ।
