ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਵਰਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
aapay sach Dhaari-o sabh saachaa sachay sach vertejaa hay. ||4||
He Himself is eternal, eternal is what He has established, and is eternally pervading everywhere. ||4||
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ (ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਸਚੁ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੇਰਾ ॥
sach tapaavas sachay kayraa.
God’s justice is eternal also.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਅਟੱਲ (ਅਭੁੱਲ) ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚਾ ਥਾਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
saachaa thaan sadaa parabh tayraa.
O’ God, Your abode is eternal.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸੁਖੁ ਕੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
sachee kudrat sachee banee sach saahib sukh keejaa hay. ||5||
O’ my Master-God, eternal is Your creation and Your command. You have also provided everlasting inner peace in it. ||5||
ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਬਣਤਰ ਅਟੱਲ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਅਟੱਲ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਏਕੋ ਆਪਿ ਤੂਹੈ ਵਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
ayko aap toohai vad raajaa.
O’ God, You alone are the greatest king.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੈ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
hukam sachay kai pooray kaajaa.
It is by the command of that eternal King that the tasks of His beings are accomplished.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
antar baahar sabh kichh jaanai aapay hee aap pateejaa hay. ||6||
He knows everything in the hearts of His creatures, and what is happening outside in the world, and feels satisfied by Himself. ||6||
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਤੂ ਵਡ ਰਸੀਆ ਤੂ ਵਡ ਭੋਗੀ ॥
too vad rasee-aa too vad bhogee.
O’ God, by pervading in all, You are the great reveller, and You are the great rejoicer.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ॥
too nirbaan toohai hee jogee.
You are detached from Your creation, and You are also united with it.
ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਅਮਿਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
sarab sookh sahj ghar tayrai ami-o tayree daristeejaa hay. ||7||
All kinds of comforts, peace and poise are available at Your abode and Your gracious glance is like the ambrosial nectar. ||7||
ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਤੁਝੈ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
tayree daat tujhai tay hovai.
O’ God, You alone can bestow the gifts that You are giving to Your creatures.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਤਨੀ ਦਾਤ ਤੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਇਹ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਭਸੈ ਜੰਤ ਲੋਐ ॥
deh daan sabhsai jant loai.
You bless all the creatures of the world with Your bounties.
ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਪੂਰ ਭੰਡਾਰੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
tot na aavai poor bhandaarai taripat rahay aagheejaa hay. ||8||
There can never be any shortage of gifts in Your treasure, which always remains brimful; all beings remain satiated with Your gifts. ||8||
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਘਾਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ। ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ (ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੮॥
ਜਾਚਹਿ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਬਨਵਾਸੀ ॥
jaacheh siDh saaDhik banvaasee.
O’ God, the siddhas, seekers dwelling in the forest seek from You only.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਸਿੱਧ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਿਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਾਚਹਿ ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
jaacheh jatee satee sukhvaasee.
The celibates and abstainers, and those who abide in peace beg from You.
ਸੁਖ-ਰਹਿਣੇ, ਜਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਤੀ (ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਹੈ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
ik daataar sagal hai jaachik deh daan saristeejaa hay. ||9||
You alone are the benefactor, and all others are seekers, You bless the entire world with bounties. ||9||
ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮੰਗਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੯॥
ਕਰਹਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਰੁ ਰੰਗ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
karahi bhagat ar rang apaaraa.
Many devotees engage in infinite God’s devotional worship and enjoy bliss.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਭਗਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
khin meh thaap uthaapanhaaraa.
God is capable of creating and destroying everything in an instant.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਰੋ ਤੋਲੁ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਭਗਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
bhaaro tol bay-ant su-aamee hukam man bhagteejaa hay. ||10||
The infinite Master-God has immense power; myriads of people are becoming His devotees by accepting His command. ||10||
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ। (ਜੀਵ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ ॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
jis deh daras so-ee tuDh jaanai.
O’ God, only that person realizes You, whom You bless with Your blessed vision.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਓਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੈ ॥
oh gur kai sabad sadaa rang maanai.
He always enjoys the bliss of Your love by singing Your praises through the Guru’s word.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸੋਈ ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਭਾਵੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
chatur saroop si-aanaa so-ee jo man tayrai bhaaveejaa hay. ||11||
That person alone is clever, beauteous and wise who is pleasing to You. ||11||
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਅਸਲ) ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਕਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
jis cheet aavahi so vayparvaahaa.
O’ God, one in whose mind You manifest, becomes carefree.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
jis cheet aavahi so saachaa saahaa.
One in whose mind You manifest, becomes the owner of the wealth of Naam.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਨਾਮ-) ਧਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਕੇਹਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
jis cheet aavahi tis bha-o kayhaa avar kahaa kichh keejaa hay. ||12||
That person in whose mind You manifest, what does he have to fear and who can harm Him? ||12||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਡਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ,ਕੋਈ ਉਸਦਾ ਕੀ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੧੨॥
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੂਝੀ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਠੰਢਾ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਲੈ ਤੂਟਾ ਗੰਢਾ ॥
tarisnaa boojhee antar thandhaa. gur poorai lai tootaa gandhaa.
One who was separated from God, when the Guru reunited him with God, the fire of his worldly desires got quenched and his heart became tranquil
ਜਦੋ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ (ਦੀ ਅੱਗ) ਬੁੱਝ ਗਈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ,
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਅਮਿਉ ਝੋਲਿ ਝੋਲਿ ਪੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
surat sabad rid antar jaagee ami-o jhol jhol peejaa hay. ||13||
He became conscious of reflecting on the Guru’s word within his heart and now with great delight he partakes the ambrosial nectar of Naam. ||13||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕਾਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਗ ਪਈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੜੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
ਮਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜੀਵੈ ॥
marai naahee sad sad hee jeevai.
That person spiritually never dies and lives forever,
ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਮਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਥੀਵੈ ॥
amar bha-i-aa abhinaasee theevai.
becomes spiritually immortal and imperishable,
ਉਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ।
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਭਰਮੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥
naa ko aavai naa ko jaavai gur door kee-aa bharmeejaa hay. ||14||
One whose doubt has been removed by the Guru; he comes to understand that no one ever takes birth or dies (it is all an illusion).
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਰਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
pooray gur kee pooree banee.
Perfect are the perfect Guru’s teachings,
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੈ,
ਪੂਰੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
poorai laagaa pooray maahi samaanee.
by reflecting on it, one who gets attached to God’s remembrance, merges in Him.
ਇਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਰੰਗਾ ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੋਲੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
charhai savaa-i-aa nit nit rangaa ghatai naahee toleejaa hay. ||15||
The love for God in his heart multiplies day by day and its intensity never diminishes. ||15||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਧਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
ਬਾਰਹਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸੁਧੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
baarhaa kanchan suDh karaa-i-aa.
Such a person becomes immaculate like the gold of one hundred percent purity.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵੰਨੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਖਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ|
ਨਦਰਿ ਸਰਾਫ ਵੰਨੀ ਸਚੜਾਇਆ ॥
nadar saraaf vannee sachrhaa-i-aa.
That person’s conduct and character becomes so pure, that he appeals to God, just as the shining pure gold appeals to the eye of the jeweler.
ਉਹ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ (ਸੋਹਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਰਾਫ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰਖਿ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਰਾਫੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾਈਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥
parakh khajaanai paa-i-aa saraafee fir naahee taa-eejaa hay. ||16||
After being tested as pure, the gold is put in the treasure chest and is not heated again; similarly that person is accepted in God’s presence. ||16||
(ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੁੱਧ ਸੋਨੇ ਨੂੰ) ਸਰਾਫ਼ ਪਰਖ ਕੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਪਰਖਣ ਲਈ ਤਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧੬॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥

O’ my Master-God, Immortalizing is Your Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥
naanak daas sadaa kurbaanee.
Devotee Nanak is always dedicated to You.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੭॥੧॥੩॥
satsang mahaa sukh paa-i-aa daykh darsan ih man bheejaa hay. ||17||1||3||
In the company of the Guru, I have enjoyed great bliss and my mind has been delighted by Your blessed vision. ||17||1||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਥੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ॥
gur gopaal gur govindaa.
The Guru is the embodiment of God, the sustainer and master of the universe.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਪਾਲ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਬਖਸਿੰਦਾ ॥
gur da-i-aal sadaa bakhsindaa.
The Guru is always merciful and forgiving.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਸਤ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਅਸਥਾਨਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
gur saasat simrit khat karmaa gur pavitar asthaanaa hay. ||1||
The Guru’s teachings are the essence of all Shastras and religious discourse, the six rituals prescribed in these scriptures, and visiting the holy places. ||1||
