ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਪਖੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parsaadee har naam Dhi-aa-i-o ham satgur charan pakhay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Meditation on God’s name is only possible through Guru’s blessings, therefore I also have come to the Guru’s refuge.
(ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ। (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਹੀ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਊਤਮ ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਰਖੇ ॥
ootam jagannaath jagdeesur ham paapee saran rakhay.
O’ the supreme Master of the universe, I am a sinner, but I have come to your refuge, please save me.
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ! ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਖੇ ॥੧॥
tum vad purakh deen dukh bhanjan har dee-o naam mukhay. ||1||
You are the Supreme Being and destroyer of sufferings of the meek; my tongue keeps uttering Your Name, as if You have put Your Name in my mouth. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਹਮ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਖੇ ॥
har gun ooch neech ham gaa-ay gur satgur sang sakhay.
God’s virtues are superb and we are lowly; I sing God’s praises in the company of the Guru, my friend.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਉੱਚੇ ਹਨ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਿਉ ਚੰਦਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਿੰਮੁ ਬਿਰਖਾ ਗੁਨ ਚੰਦਨ ਕੇ ਬਸਖੇ ॥੨॥
ji-o chandan sang basai nimm birkhaa gun chandan kay baskhay. ||2||
Like growing near a sandal tree, a bitter Neem plant is permeated with the fragrance of the sandal tree, similarly by joining the company of the Guru, I have started meditating on Naam and singing His praises. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਜੇ) ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਿੰਮ (ਦਾ) ਰੁੱਖ ਉਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
ਹਮਰੇ ਅਵਗਨ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਨਿਮਖੇ ॥
hamray avgan bikhi-aa bikhai kay baho baar baar nimkhay.
We commit countless sins over and over again.
ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਘੜੀ ਮੁੜੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਅਵਗਨਿਆਰੇ ਪਾਥਰ ਭਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਨਖੇ ॥੩॥
avgani-aaray paathar bhaaray har taaray sang jankhay. ||3||
We are so full of evils that we have become heavy like stones; by uniting us with the company of His saints, God ferries us across the worldly ocean of vices. ||3||
ਅਸੀਂ ਔਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਤਨੇ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਪੱਥਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਮਹਾਂ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਖੇ ॥
jin ka-o tum har raakho su-aamee sabh tin kay paap karikhay.
O’ God, those whom You protect, all their sins are destroyed.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੁਮ ਦੁਸਟ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਰਣਖੇ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan naanak kay da-i-aal parabh su-aamee tum dusat taaray harnakhay. ||4||3||
O’ the merciful God of devotee Nanak, You liberate even demons like Harnakash. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰਣਾਖਸ਼ ਵਰਗੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੪॥੩॥

Raag Nat, Fourth Guru:
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗੇ ॥
mayray man jap har har raam rangay.
O’ my mind, imbue yourself with God’s love and meditate on His Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਜਨ ਪਗਿ ਲਗੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har kirpaa karee jagdeesur har Dhi-aa-i-o jan pag lagay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The one on whom God of the universe has bestowed His mercy, that person has lovingly remembered God by humbly serving His devotees. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਭੂਲ ਚੂਕ ਹਮ ਅਬ ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਗੇ ॥
janam janam kay bhool chook ham ab aa-ay parabh sarangay.
O’ God, after committing blunders birth after birth, we have now come to Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗ਼ਲਤੀਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੁਮ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਵਡ ਪਾਪਗੇ ॥੧॥
tum sarnaagat partipaalak su-aamee ham raakho vad paapgay. ||1||
O’ God, You are the protector of those who seek Your refuge, so save us, the great sinners. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕੋ ਨ ਉਧਰਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਏ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਗੇ ॥
tumree sangat har ko ko na uDhaari-o parabh kee-ay patit pavgay.
After seeking your shelter, O’ God, who would not be saved? Only You purify the sinners.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ, ਉਹੀ (ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਛੀਪਾ ਦੁਸਟਾਰਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਜਨਗੇ ॥੨॥
gun gaavat chheepaa dustaari-o parabh raakhee paij jangay. ||2||
Naam dev, the calico printer, was driven out by the evil villains, as he sang Your Praises; O God, You protected the honor of Your humble servant. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਛੀਂਬੇ ਨੂੰ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੇ) ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਦੁਰਕਾਰਿਆ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ॥੨॥
ਜੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਨਗੇ ॥
jo tumray gun gaavahi su-aamee ha-o bal bal bal tingay.
O’ my Master, I am totally dedicated to those who sing Your praises.
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਭਵਨ ਭਵਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਏ ਜਹ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਰੀ ਜਨ ਪਗੇ ॥੩॥
bhavan bhavan pavitar sabh kee-ay jah Dhoor paree jan pagay. ||3||
All those places are sanctified, where your devotees set their feet. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਥਾਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੩॥
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡਗੇ ॥
tumray gun parabh kahi na sakahi ham tum vad vad purakh vadgay.
O’ God! I cannot describe Your Glorious Virtues; You are the greatest of the great.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਹਮ ਸੇਵਹ ਤੁਮ ਜਨ ਪਗੇ ॥੪॥੪॥
jan naanak ka-o da-i-aa parabh Dhaarahu ham sayvah tum jan pagay. ||4||4||
O’ God, bestow mercy on devotee Nanak, so that I may also humbly serve Your devotees. ||4||4||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ॥੪॥੪॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨੇ ॥
mayray man jap har har naam manay.
O’ my mind, with your full concentration, lovingly meditate on God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਜਗੰਨਾਥਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਬਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jagannaath kirpaa parabh Dhaaree mat gurmat naam banay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The intellect of the person on whom God has showered His blessings, through Guru’s teachings, has been imbued with the love of Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਓ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਸੁਨੇ ॥
har jan har jas har har gaa-i-o updays guroo gur sunay.
The devotees of God, after listening to the Guru’s teachings, started singing the praises of God,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਗੁਰੂ (ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਟੇ ਜਿਵ ਖੇਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਾਨਿ ਲੁਨੇ ॥੧॥
kilbikh paap naam har kaatay jiv khayt kirsaan lunay. ||1||
God’s Name destroyed all their sins and evils, just as a farmer cuts down his crop. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਵਿਕਾਰ (ਇਉਂ) ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤ ਕੱਟੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਹਮ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨੇ ॥
tumree upmaa tum hee parabh jaanhu ham kahi na sakahi har gunay.
You alone know Your Praises, O’ God; I cannot even begin to describe Your glorious virtues.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਜੈਸੇ ਤੁਮ ਤੈਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਗੁਨ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪੁਨੇ ॥੨॥
jaisay tum taisay parabh tum hee gun jaanhu parabh apunay. ||2||
You are what You are; O’ God, You alone know Your glorious virtues. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ; ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਫਾਸ ਬੰਧ ਬਹੁ ਬੰਧੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਖੁਲ ਖੁਲਨੇ ॥
maa-i-aa faas banDh baho banDhay har japi-o khul khulnay.
O’ my mind, the mortals are engrossed in the numerous bonds of the materialistic world; these bonds are broken by meditating on God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ;
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਕੁੰਚਰੁ ਤਦੂਐ ਬਾਂਧਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਮੋਖ ਮੁਖਨੇ ॥੩॥
ji-o jal kunchar tadoo-ai baaNDhi-o har chayti-o mokh mukhnay. ||3||
just like the elephant trapped in water by the crocodile was released when it remembered God. ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੰਦੂਏ ਨੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, (ਹਾਥੀ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਤੰਦੂਏ ਤੋਂ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੩॥
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤੁਮ ਖੋਜਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗਨੇ ॥
su-aamee paarbarahm parmaysar tum khojahu jug jugnay.
O’ my Master, the all-pervading God, Your devotees have been searching for You througout the ages.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ। ਜੁਗਾਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਥਾਹ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਡਨੇ ॥੪॥੫॥
tumree thaah paa-ee nahee paavai jan naanak kay parabh vadnay. ||4||5||
O’ Great God of devotee Nanak, nobody has estimated the extent of Your virtues and no one can. ||4||5||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭੀ, ਕਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Nat, Fourth Guru:
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਲਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਵਣੇ ॥
mayray man kal keerat har parvanay.
O’ my mind, in this dark age of Kalyug, singing God’s praises is recognized in His presence.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ), ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ (ਇਹੀ ਉੱਦਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆਲਿ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਾਰੀ ਲਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har da-i-aal da-i-aa parabh Dhaaree lag satgur har japnay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
But only when the merciful God shows kindness and compassion, one meditates on God’s Name through the teachings of the true Guru. ||1||Pause||
(ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ) ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
