ਹੇ ਪਾਂਡੇ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਜੀ ਭੀ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਬਤ ਭੀ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਅਸਾਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ)
ਰਾਵਨ ਸੇਤੀ ਸਰਬਰ ਹੋਈ ਘਰ ਕੀ ਜੋਇ ਗਵਾਈ ਥੀ ॥੩॥
raavan saytee sarbar ho-ee ghar kee jo-ay gavaa-ee thee. ||3||
that he went to war with king Raavan, since he had lost his wife to Raavan. ||3||
ਰਾਵਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਹੋ ਪਈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਹੁਟੀ (ਸੀਤਾ ਜੀ) ਗਵਾ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ ॥੩॥
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਤੁਰਕੂ ਕਾਣਾ ॥
hindoo anHaa turkoo kaanaa.
O’ brother, a Hindu is spiritually blind because he has lost faith in God and worships idols of gods and goddesses, and a Muslim is partially blind because he blieves that God exsits, but only in Mecca.
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਗਵਾ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਅੱਖ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ;
ਦੁਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸਿਆਣਾ ॥
duhaaN tay gi-aanee si-aanaa.
But wiser than both is a person who has divine wisdom.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ) ਗਿਆਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪੂਜੈ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੁ ਮਸੀਤਿ ॥
hindoo poojai dayhuraa musalmaan maseet.
The Hindu worships temples dedicated to gods and godesses, and the Muslim worships mosques.
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ,ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਮਸਜਿਦ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਸਮਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੇ ਸੋਈ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਜਹ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਨ ਮਸੀਤਿ ॥੪॥੩॥੭॥
naamay so-ee sayvi-aa jah dayhuraa na maseet. ||4||3||7||
Namdev lovingly remembers that God who is limited neither to temples, nor to mosques, but pervades everywhere. ||4||3||7||

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਜਪਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥

O’ people of the world, always lovingly remember God, the emancipator.
ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਮੁਕਤੀ-ਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰੋ,
ਬਿਨੁ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਅਉਹਾਰ ॥
bin mukand tan ho-ay a-uhaar.
Without remembering God, this body goes to waste.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
so-ee mukand mukat kaa daataa.
The same God is the bestower of salvation from vices,
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਹਮਰਾ ਪਿਤ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
so-ee mukand hamraa pit maataa. ||1||
who is like my father and my mother. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ਮਰਤ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ॥
jeevat mukanday marat mukanday.
One who lovingly remembers God both while living as well as while dying,
ਜੋ ਜਿਊਂਦਾ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taa kay sayvak ka-o sadaa ananday. ||1|| rahaa-o.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੰ ॥

Remembering God with adoration is the support of my life.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ (ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ) ਹੈ,
ਜਪਿ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਨੀਸਾਨੰ ॥
jap mukand mastak neesaanaN.
By remembering God with loving devotion, I have become so fortunate as if my forehead has been stamped for acceptance in God’s presence.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ.
ਸੇਵ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥
sayv mukand karai bairaagee.
The devotional worship of God helps one get detached from the world.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਦੁਰਬਲ ਧਨੁ ਲਾਧੀ ॥੨॥
so-ee mukand durbal Dhan laaDhee. ||2||
I, the powerless one, have found the wealth of God’s Name. ||2||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਏਕੁ ਮੁਕੰਦੁ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਕਾਰੁ ॥

If God does a favor to me,
ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ,
ਹਮਰਾ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
hamraa kahaa karai sansaar.
then what can the world do to me?
ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਮੇਟੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੂਏ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥ ਤੁਹੀ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗ ਤਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
maytee jaat hoo-ay darbaar. tuhee mukand jog jug taar. ||3||
O’ God, erasing any thought about my caste, I have come to Your presence; You alone are capable of ferrying me across the world ocean of vices. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਬਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੩॥
ਉਪਜਿਓ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹੂਆ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥
upji-o gi-aan hoo-aa pargaas.
Divine wisdom has welled up within me and my mind has been enlightened;
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਕੀਟ ਦਾਸ ॥
kar kirpaa leenay keet daas.
bestowing mercy, God has accepted me, a lowly devotee, as His own.
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਅਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਚੂਕੀ ॥
kaho ravidaas ab tarisnaa chookee.
Ravidas says, my feirce worldly desires have been quenched,
ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
ਜਪਿ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਸੇਵਾ ਤਾਹੂ ਕੀ ॥੪॥੧॥
jap mukand sayvaa taahoo kee. ||4||1||
and now I always remember God and perform His devotional worship. ||4||1||
ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਵੈ ॥
jay oh athsath tirath nHaavai.
Even if someone bathes at all the sixty eight pilgrimage places,
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ (ਭੀ) ਕਰੇ,
ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਦੁਆਦਸ ਸਿਲਾ ਪੂਜਾਵੈ ॥
jay oh du-aadas silaa poojaavai.
worships all the Shiva-lingam stones at the twelve pilgrimage places,
ਬਾਰਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਵਲਿੰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਭੀ ਕਰੇ,
ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਕੂਪ ਤਟਾ ਦੇਵਾਵੈ ॥
jay oh koop tataa dayvaavai.
and gets wells and ponds dug up for others,
ਜੇ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਲਈ) ਖੂਹ ਤਲਾਬ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਲਵਾਏ;
ਕਰੈ ਨਿੰਦ ਸਭ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
karai nind sabh birthaa jaavai. ||1||
but if he indulges in slander, then all of this is useless. ||1||
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਤਰੈ ॥
saaDh kaa nindak kaisay tarai.
How can the slanderer of a saint swim across the worldly ocean of vices?
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂਤਰੇਗਾ?,
ਸਰਪਰ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਨਰਕ ਹੀ ਪਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sarpar jaanhu narak hee parai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
such a person for sure goes through the hellish sufferings. ||1||Pause||
ਯਕੀਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੋ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਗ੍ਰਹਨ ਕਰੈ ਕੁਲਖੇਤਿ ॥
jay oh garahan karai kulkhayt.
Even if one baths at Kurukshetra (a sacred place) at the time of solar eclipse,
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁਲਖੇਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ (ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ (ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ) ਕਰੇ,
ਅਰਪੈ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਸਮੇਤਿ ॥
arpai naar seegaar samayt.
gives in charity his own wife all decked up with jewellery,
ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ,
ਸਗਲੀ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਸੁਨੈ ॥
saglee simrit sarvanee sunai.
listens attentively to Simrities, the Hindu holy books,
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੇ;
ਕਰੈ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਵਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਗੁਨੈ ॥੨॥
karai nind kavnai nahee gunai. ||2||
but if he indulges in slander, then all these acts are of no avail. ||2||
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਜੇ ਓਹੁ ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥

ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਲਵਾਵੇ,
ਭੂਮਿ ਦਾਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਮੰਡਪਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
bhoom daan sobhaa mandap paavai.
gives land in charity, earns glory by building many temples,
ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਕਰੇ (ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਖੱਟ ਲਏ,
ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਗਾਰਿ ਬਿਰਾਂਨਾ ਸਾਂਢੈ ॥
apnaa bigaar biraaNnaa saaNdhai.
arranges the affairs of others even at a personal loss,
ਜੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰੇ,
ਕਰੈ ਨਿੰਦ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਹਾਂਢੈ ॥੩॥
karai nind baho jonee haaNdhai. ||3||
but if he indulges in slander then he goes through many incarnations. ||3||
ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਭਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
nindaa kahaa karahu sansaaraa.
O’ the people of the world, why do you indulge in slander?
ਹੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਤੁਸੀ (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ?
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਪਰਗਟਿ ਪਾਹਾਰਾ ॥
nindak kaa pargat paahaaraa.
ultimately the slanderer gets exposed to the entire world.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਠੱਗੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਸੋਧਿ ਸਾਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥
nindak soDh saaDh beechaari-aa.
I have carefully thought about the fate of a slanderer,
ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਬਾਬਤ) ਅਸਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਕਹੁ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਪਾਪੀ ਨਰਕਿ ਸਿਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੧॥੭॥੨॥੪੯॥ ਜੋੜੁ ॥
kaho ravidaas paapee narak siDhaari-aa. ||4||2||11||7||2||49|| jorh.
