Raag Gond:
ਮੋਹਿ ਲਾਗਤੀ ਤਾਲਾਬੇਲੀ ॥
mohi laagtee taalaabaylee.
(Separated from God), I feel great sense of anxiety,
ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ) ਤੜਫਣੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਬਛਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਾਇ ਅਕੇਲੀ ॥੧॥
bachhray bin gaa-ay akaylee. ||1||
like a lonesome cow feels worried without its calf. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵੱਛੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਗਾਂ (ਘਾਬਰਦੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਪਾਨੀਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੀਨੁ ਤਲਫੈ ॥
paanee-aa bin meen talfai.
Just as a fish without water flutters in pain,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜਫਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਐਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਪੁਰੋ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aisay raam naamaa bin baapuro naamaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
similarly, poor Namdev suffers without God’s Name. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੜਫਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਗਾਇ ਕਾ ਬਾਛਾ ਛੂਟਲਾ ॥
jaisay gaa-ay kaa baachhaa chhootlaa.
Just as, when a calf is untethered,
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੱਛਾ ਕਿੱਲੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਥਨ ਚੋਖਤਾ ਮਾਖਨੁ ਘੂਟਲਾ ॥੨॥
than chokh-taa maakhan ghootlaa. ||2||
latches to cow’s teats and sucks the milk ||2||
ਤਾਂ (ਗਾਂ ਦੇ) ਥਣ ਚੁੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਮੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਘੁੱਟ ਭਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਨਾਰਾਇਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
naamday-o naaraa-in paa-i-aa.
I, Namdev, realized God,
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ,
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
gur bhaytat alakh lakhaa-i-aa. ||3||
when upon meeting the Guru, I comprehended the incomprehensible God. ||3||
ਜਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਲੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈ ਗਈ, ॥੩॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਹੇਤ ਪਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
jaisay bikhai hayt par naaree.
Just as the vicious man of lust has intense love for another person’s woman,
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਾਈ ਨਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਐਸੇ ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
aisay naamay pareet muraaree. ||4||
similarly Namdev has love for God. ||4||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਨਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਤਾਪਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਘਾਮਾ ॥
jaisay taaptay nirmal ghaamaa.
Just as one feels totally distressed in hot humid season,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਧੁੱਪ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤ) ਤਪਦੇ-ਲੁੱਛਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤੈਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਪੁਰੋ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੫॥੪॥
taisay raam naamaa bin baapuro naamaa. ||5||4||
similarly poor Namdev feels distressed without God’s Name. ||5||4||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਘਾਬਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੫॥੪॥

Raag Gond, The Hymn of Namdev Jee, Second Beat:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
har har karat mitay sabh bharmaa.
All doubts are dispelled by lovingly remembering God’s Name.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਸਭ ਭਟਕਣਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ l
ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈ ਊਤਮ ਧਰਮਾ ॥
har ko naam lai ootam Dharmaa.
O’ my friend, meditate on God’s Name; this is the most sublime deed.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਧਰਮ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਹਰੀ ॥
har har karat jaat kul haree.
The thought of social classes and lineage is erased by remembering God with adoration.
ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ (ਨੀਵੀਂ ਉੱਚੀ) ਜਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਲ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਕਰੀ ॥੧॥
so har anDhulay kee laakree. ||1||
The same God is my support, like a walking stick for a blind person. ||1||
ਉਹ ਹਰਿ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਏ ਨਮਸਤੇ ਹਰਏ ਨਮਹ ॥
har-ay namastay har-ay namah.
I humbly bow to God, yes I humbly bow to God.
ਮੇਰੀ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਨਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਮਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har karat nahee dukh jamah. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By reciting God’s Name with adoration, one is not tormented by the demon of death. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਨਾਕਸ ਹਰੇ ਪਰਾਨ ॥
har harnaakhas haray paraan.
God took away the life of demon Harnakash (when devotee Prehlaad called upon God for help).
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਹਰਨਾਖਸ਼ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ l
ਅਜੈਮਲ ਕੀਓ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਹਿ ਥਾਨ ॥
ajaimal kee-o baikuntheh thaan.
God gave Ajaamal, the sinner, a place in heaven (because he sincerely remembered God, at the time of his death).
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਅਜਾਮਲ ਪਾਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਸੂਆ ਪੜਾਵਤ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਤਰੀ ॥
soo-aa parhaavat ganikaa taree.
Ganika, the prostitute, was saved from the vices while teaching a parrot to utter God’s Name.
ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਭੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਈ l
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਕੀ ਪੂਤਰੀ ॥੨॥
so har nainhu kee pootree. ||2||
The same God is dear to me like the pupil of my eyes. ||2||
ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਤਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਤਰੀ ॥
har har karat pootnaa taree.
By repeating God’s Name, midwife Pootana was also emancipated;
ਪੂਤਨਾ ਦਾਈ ਭੀ ਤਰ ਗਈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ;
ਬਾਲ ਘਾਤਨੀ ਕਪਟਹਿ ਭਰੀ ॥
baal ghaatnee kaptahi bharee.
even though she was deceitful and a child killer.
ਬਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਟ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ (ਉਸ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਦਾ ਉਧਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ)।
ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਦ ਸੁਤ ਉਧਰੀ ॥
simran daropad sut uDhree.
Draupadi was protected from being disgraced because of remembering God,
ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ (ਨਿਰਾਦਰੀ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚੀ ਸੀ,
ਗਊਤਮ ਸਤੀ ਸਿਲਾ ਨਿਸਤਰੀ ॥੩॥
ga-ootam satee silaa nistaree. ||3||
and Ahallya, the virtuous wife of sage Gautam, who had been earlier turned into a stone, was also saved. ||3||
ਤੇ, ਗੌਤਮ ਦੀ ਨੇਕ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜੋ (ਗੌਤਮ ਦੇ ਸ੍ਰਾਪ ਨਾਲ) ਸਿਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
ਕੇਸੀ ਕੰਸ ਮਥਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
kaysee kans mathan jin kee-aa.
The same God destroyed Kans, the maternal uncle of lord Krishna and his wrestler Kaysee,
ਉਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕੇਸੀ ਤੇ ਕੰਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ,
ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਾਲੀ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ॥
jee-a daan kaalee ka-o dee-aa.
and gave the gift of life to the king cobra called Kali.
ਤੇ ਕਾਲੀ ਨਾਗ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਾ ਐਸੋ ਹਰੀ ॥
paranvai naamaa aiso haree.
Namdev prays before such a forgiving God,
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਐਸਾ (ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੰਦ) ਹੈ,
ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਭੈ ਅਪਦਾ ਟਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥
jaas japat bhai apdaa taree. ||4||1||5||
remembering whom all dread and distress is dispelled. ||4||1||5||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਸਭ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਟਲ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥

ਭੈਰਉ ਭੂਤ ਸੀਤਲਾ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
bhairo bhoot seetlaa Dhaavai.
One who prays to the ghost Bhairo, becomes a ghost like Bhairo and one who worships Seetla, the goddess of smallpox,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੈਰੋਂ ਦੀ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ , ਉਹ ਭੈਰੋਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਭੂਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੀਤਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਖਰ ਬਾਹਨੁ ਉਹੁ ਛਾਰੁ ਉਡਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
khar baahan uho chhaar udaavai. ||1||
like Seetla, he rides a donkey and scatters dust. ||1||
ਉਹ (ਸੀਤਲਾ ਵਾਂਗ) ਖੋਤੇ ਦੀ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਖੋਤੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ) ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਉਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਉ ਤਉ ਏਕੁ ਰਮਈਆ ਲੈਹਉ ॥
ha-o ta-o ayk rama-ee-aa laiha-o.
As far as I am concerned, I would meditate only on God’s Name,
(ਹੇ ਪੰਡਤ!) ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ,
ਆਨ ਦੇਵ ਬਦਲਾਵਨਿ ਦੈਹਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aan dayv badlaavan daiha-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and I am ready to exchange all other gods for the one supreme God. ||1||Pause||
(ਤੁਹਾਡੇ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਵ ਸਿਵ ਕਰਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
siv siv kartay jo nar Dhi-aavai.
The person who worships the god Shiva by reciting his name again and again,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਬਰਦ ਚਢੇ ਡਉਰੂ ਢਮਕਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
barad chadhay da-uroo dhamkaavai. ||2||
beats small drums while riding a bull. ||2||
ਉਹ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਬਲਦ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਸ਼ਿਵ ਵਾਂਗ) ਡਮਰੂ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਹਾ ਮਾਈ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
mahaa maa-ee kee poojaa karai.
A man who worships parvati, the great mother,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਰ ਸੈ ਨਾਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੩॥
nar sai naar ho-ay a-utarai. ||3||
is reincarnated as a woman instead of a man. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਨਾਨੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਜਯ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਤੂ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੀ ਆਦਿ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
too kahee-at hee aad bhavaanee.
O’ Bhavani, you are called the primal goddess,
ਹੇ ਭਵਾਨੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈਂ,
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੀ ਬਰੀਆ ਕਹਾ ਛਪਾਨੀ ॥੪॥
mukat kee baree-aa kahaa chhapaanee. ||4||
but where do you hide when time comes to grant salvation? ||4||
ਪਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ, ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿੱਥੇ ਲੁਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੁਕਤੀ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਪਾਸ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ॥੪॥
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗਹੁ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
gurmat raam naam gahu meetaa.
O’ friend, keep meditating on God’s Name by following the Guru’s teachings,
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ , ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਾ ਇਉ ਕਹੈ ਗੀਤਾ ॥੫॥੨॥੬॥
paranvai naamaa i-o kahai geetaa. ||5||2||6||
the Gita (scripture) also proclaims this, submits Namdev. ||5||2||6||
ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕ) ਗੀਤਾ ਭੀ ਇਹੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੨॥੬॥

ਆਜੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੋ ਸਮਝਾਊ ਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aaj naamay beethal daykhi-aa moorakh ko samjhaa-oo ray. rahaa-o.
O’ Pandit, today I had a glimpse of God; O’ fool, let me give you some true understanding about why you haven’t seen His sight so far. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪਾਂਡੇ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਸੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਓਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ; ਆ) ਮੈਂ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਵਾਂ (ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਾਂਡੇ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਲੋਧੇ ਕਾ ਖੇਤੁ ਖਾਤੀ ਥੀ ॥
paaNday tumree gaa-itaree loDhay kaa khayt khaatee thee.
O’ Pandit, (you have no faith in your gods, because you yourself say that Gayatri was seen as grazing in the fields of a farmer named Lodha,
ਹੇ ਪਾਂਡੇ! ਤੇਰੀ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ( ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਾਪ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਗਊ ਦੀ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ) ਇਕ ਲੋਧੇ ਜੱਟ ਦੀ ਪੈਲੀ ਖਾਣ ਜਾ ਪਈ,
ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਠੇਗਾ ਟਗਰੀ ਤੋਰੀ ਲਾਂਗਤ ਲਾਂਗਤ ਜਾਤੀ ਥੀ ॥੧॥
lai kar thaygaa tagree toree laaNgat laaNgat jaatee thee. ||1||
who broke her leg with a club and now she walks with a limp. ||1||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਟਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਲੱਤ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ (ਵਿਚਾਰੀ) ਲੰਙਾ ਲੰਙਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਂਡੇ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਧਉਲੇ ਬਲਦ ਚੜਿਆ ਆਵਤੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਥਾ ॥
paaNday tumraa mahaaday-o Dha-ulay balad charhi-aa aavat daykhi-aa thaa.
O’ Pandit, your god Mahadev was seen riding on his white bull,
ਹੇ ਪਾਂਡੇ! ਤੇਰਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਸ਼ਿਵਜੀ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਬੈਲ ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ,
ਮੋਦੀ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਖਾਣਾ ਪਾਕਾ ਵਾ ਕਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਥਾ ॥੨॥
modee kay ghar khaanaa paakaa vaa kaa larhkaa maari-aa thaa. ||2||
who disliked the food cooked for him at his storekeeper’s house, and in a fit of rage he killed the son of the strekeepers. ||2||
ਕਿਸੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਉਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੋਜਨ,ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਾ ਆਇਆ, ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨॥
