ਲਾਲ ਨਾਮ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
laal naam jaa kai bharay bhandaar.
He, whose treasures are filled with precious virtues
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ-ਰੂਪ ਲਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਦੇਵੈ ਆਧਾਰ ॥੩॥
sagal ghataa dayvai aaDhaar. ||3||
He provides sustenance to all the beings. ||3||
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਹੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
sat purakh jaa ko hai naa-o.
He, whose very Name describes Him to be eternal and all-pervading,
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
ਮਿਟਹਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘ ਨਿਮਖ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਉ ॥
miteh kot agh nimakh jas gaa-o.
by singing His praises even for an instant, millions of one’s sins are washed off.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਸ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਾਲ ਸਖਾਈ ਭਗਤਨ ਕੋ ਮੀਤ ॥
baal sakhaa-ee bhagtan ko meet.
He is the friend of His devotees right from the very begining.
ਉਹ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦਾ) ਮੁੱਢ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਿਤ ਚੀਤ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
paraan aDhaar naanak hit cheet. ||4||1||3||
O’ Nanak, He is the support of everybody’s breath of life, and is the love of every heart. ||4||1||3||
ਅਤੇ (ਹਰੇਕ ਦੀ) ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥

Raag Gond, Fifth Guru:
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
naam sang keeno bi-uhaar.
O’ brother, now I am trading in God’s Name (for my spiritual progress).
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੁਣ) ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਮੋੁ ਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
naamo hee is man kaa aDhaar.
God’s Name is the only support of this mind of mine.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਇਸ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੋ ਹੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਓਟ ॥
naamo hee chit keenee ot.
In my heart, I have made Naam alone the support (of my life).
ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਪਾਪ ਕੋਟਿ ॥੧॥
naam japat miteh paap kot. ||1||
O’ brother, millions of sins are washed off by lovingly meditating on God’s Name. ||1||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਰਾਸਿ ਦੀਈ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
raas dee-ee har ayko naam.
The Guru has given me the wealth of God’s Name, (so that I can spiritually rejuvenate).
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ)।
ਮਨ ਕਾ ਇਸਟੁ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man kaa isat gur sang Dhi-aan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
It is my heart’s earnest wish to dearly meditate on Naam in the company of the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
naam hamaaray jee-a kee raas.
God’s Name has become the asset of my soul;
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਬਣ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਮੋ ਸੰਗੀ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਜਾਤ ॥
naamo sangee jat kat jaat.
so much so that wherever I go, Naam remains my constant companion.
ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੋ ਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
naamo hee man laagaa meethaa.
God’s Name alone sounds sweet to my mind.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਡੀਠਾ ॥੨॥
jal thal sabh meh naamo deethaa. ||2||
In every place, water and land, I see Naam (God) pervading. ||2||
ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਹਰੀ ਹੀ) ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਮੇ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ॥
naamay dargeh mukh ujlay.
By reverently meditating on His Name, we are honored in the presence of God,
ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਮੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਉਧਰੇ ॥
naamay saglay kul uDhray.
and as a reward of Naam, all our lineages are also saved.
ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮਿ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੀਧ ॥
naam hamaaray kaaraj seeDh.
Through Naam, all my tasks are being accomplished.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਗੀਧ ॥੩॥
naam sang ih manoo-aa geeDh. ||3||
Now, this mind of mine is used to Naam. ||3||
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਗਿੱਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਹਮ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ॥
naamay hee ham nirbha-o bha-ay.
O’ brother, because of true meditation on Naam, no fear of the world can scare me .
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਨਾਮੇ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਵਨ ਰਹੇ ॥
naamay aavan jaavan rahay.
By lovingly meditating on God’s Name, the cycles of birth and death come to an end.
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥
gur poorai maylay guntaas.
The perfect Guru has always united mortals with God, the treasure of virtues.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ ਸਦਾ) ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥
kaho naanak sukh sahj nivaas. ||4||2||4||
Nanak says, one abides in peace and poise (as a result of meditation on Naam). ||4||2||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥

Raag Gond, Fifth Guru:
ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਜੋ ਦੇਤੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
nimaanay ka-o jo dayto maan.
O’ my friend, He who grants honor to the meek,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਭੂਖੇ ਕਉ ਕਰਤਾ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
sagal bhookhay ka-o kartaa daan.
who gives sustenance to all the hungry,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੁੱਖਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗਰਭ ਘੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ॥
garabh ghor meh raakhanhaar.
and who is the savior of a mortal in the horrible womb,
ਅਤੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਗਰਭ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ;
ਤਿਸੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
tis thaakur ka-o sadaa namaskaar. ||1||
always pay obeisance to that Master-God. ||1||
ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
ਐਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
aiso parabh man maahi Dhi-aa-ay.
Remember that God in your mind,
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ,
ਘਟਿ ਅਵਘਟਿ ਜਤ ਕਤਹਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ghat avghat jat kateh sahaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who is always your support everywhere, both inside and outside the body. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰੰਕੁ ਰਾਉ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨਿ ॥
rank raa-o jaa kai ayk samaan.
O’ my friend, remember that God for whom, a king or a pauper are equal;
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ) ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤਿ ਸਗਲ ਪੂਰਾਨ ॥
keet hasat sagal pooraan.
who is pervading in all creatures, whether an insect, or an elephant,
ਜੋ ਕੀੜੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
ਬੀਓ ਪੂਛਿ ਨ ਮਸਲਤਿ ਧਰੈ ॥
bee-o poochh na maslat Dharai.
who does not consult or seek anyone’s advice,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛ ਕੇ (ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ) ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਆਪਹਿ ਕਰੈ ॥੨॥
jo kichh karai so aapeh karai. ||2||
and does everything on His own, whatever He does.||2||
(ਸਗੋਂ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਸਿ ਕੋਇ ॥
jaa kaa ant na jaanas ko-ay.
Remember that God whose end or limit nobody can know,
(ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ) ਜਿਸ (ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਜਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਗਾ।
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
aapay aap niranjan so-ay.
that immaculate God is all Himself (everywhere).
ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਿ ਅਕਾਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
aap akaar aap nirankaar.
This visible world is all His form and He is formless as well.
ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਘਟਿ ਸਭ ਘਟ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
ghat ghat ghat sabh ghat aaDhaar. ||3||
He pervades each and every heart, and is the support of all. ||3||
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਭਗਤ ਭਏ ਲਾਲ ॥
naam rang bhagat bha-ay laal.
The devotees of God remain imbued in love of Naam.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਲਾਲ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਸੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
jas kartay sant sadaa nihaal.
The saintly people always remain delighted as they sing God’s praises.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਨ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਇ ॥
naam rang jan rahay aghaa-ay.
The devotees remain satiated from the greed of Maya because of their love of Naam,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥੫॥
naanak tin jan laagai paa-ay. ||4||3||5||
Nanak respectfully touches the feet of those devotees (humbly respects them). ||4||3||5||
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥੫॥

Those, in whose company, this mind becomes pure,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਹਨ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ॥
jaa kai sang har har simran.
in whose company, one always reverently meditates on God’s Name,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ) ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਹੋਹਿ ਨਾਸ ॥
jaa kai sang kilbikh hohi naas.
in whose company, all sins are destroyed,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥੧॥
jaa kai sang ridai pargaas. ||1||
in whose company, the heart is illuminated with divine wisdom, ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸੁੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੇ ਸੰਤਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ॥
say santan har kay mayray meet.
those saints of God are my friends,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਹਨ,
ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kayval naam gaa-ee-ai jaa kai neet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and in their company, praises of Naam alone are sung. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ॥
jaa kai mantar har har man vasai.
Through whose teachings, God manifests in our hearts,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਨਸੈ ॥
jaa kai updays bharam bha-o nasai.
by whose teachings, one’s all fear and all doubt flees,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਭਰਮ-ਵਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਰ ॥
jaa kai keerat nirmal saar.
in whose hearts, abides supreme and purifying praises of God,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਰਿ-ਕੀਰਤੀ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਨੁ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥੨॥
jaa kee rayn baaNchhai sansaar. ||2||
and the entire world longs for the dust of their feet (humbly serve them) . ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ) ॥੨॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰ ॥
kot patit jaa kai sang uDhaar.
In whose company millions of sinners are liberated from vices,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
ayk nirankaar jaa kai naam aDhaar.
They have the Support of the Name of the One Formless God.
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸਰੂਪ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।,
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆਂ ਕਾ ਜਾਨੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
sarab jee-aaN kaa jaanai bhay-o.
He knows the secrets of all beings;
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦੇਉ ॥੩॥
kirpaa niDhaan niranjan day-o. ||3||
God is immaculate, the treasure of mercy and divine light. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
paarbarahm jab bha-ay kirpaal.
O’ brother, when the all pervading God becomes gracious,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਤਬ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
tab bhaytay gur saaDh da-i-aal.
only then one meets such saintly people and one meets the merciful Guru.
ਤਦੋਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਦਿਆਲ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
