Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰਹੁ ॥
apnay sayvak ka-o kabahu na bisaarahu.
O’ God! never forsake Your devotee.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁਲਾਈਂ।
ਉਰਿ ਲਾਗਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬੀਚਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ur laagahu su-aamee parabh mayray poorab pareet gobind beechaarahu. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my God! stay enshrined in my heart; O’ the Master of the Universe, consider my past love for You. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹੁ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਮੇਰੀ ਪੂਰਬਲੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੀਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਦੋਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਤ ਧਾਰਹੁ ॥
patit paavan parabh birad tumHaaro hamray dokh ridai mat Dhaarahu.
O’ God! to purify even the sinners is Your innate nature; please do not consider my faults.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ ; ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਐਬ (ਭੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਰੱਖੀਂ।
ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਟਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥
jeevan paraan har Dhan sukh tum hee ha-umai patal kirpaa kar jaarahu. ||1||
O’ God! You are my breath of life, spiritual wealth and peace; bestow mercy and burn down the curtain of ego (which separates me from You). ||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੈਂ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਸਾੜ ਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਮੀਨ ਕਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੂਧ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਹਨੁ ਕਤ ਬਾਰੋ ॥
jal bihoon meen kat jeevan dooDh binaa rahan kat baaro.
Just as a fish cannot survive without water and a child cannot live without milk,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੱਛੀ ਕਦੇ ਜੀਊਂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੋ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੩॥
jan naanak pi-aas charan kamlanH kee paykh daras su-aamee sukh saaro. ||2||7||123||
similarly O’ God! Your devotee Nanak yearns for Your immaculate Name; he receives total celestial peace by beholding Your blessed vision. ||2||7||123||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੩॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
aagai paachhai kusal bha-i-aa.
One experiences celestial peace both here and hereafter,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਭ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai pooree sabh raakhee paarbarahm parabh keenee ma-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
on whom the supreme God bestowed mercy and the perfect Guru fully protected his honor from all evils. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਸਗਲਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
man tan rav rahi-aa har pareetam dookh darad saglaa mit ga-i-aa.
All the pains and sufferings get dispelled from the life of a person in whose mind and heart is enshrined God forever.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਹਰੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਰਦ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਆਨਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਿ ਹੋਏ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥
saaNt sahj aanad gun gaa-ay doot dusat sabh ho-ay kha-i-aa. ||1||
All his vices and evil intentions get destroyed and he receives spiritual peace, poise and bliss by singing praises of God. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਨੁ ਅਵਗੁਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਆ ॥
gun avgun parabh kachh na beechaari-o kar kirpaa apunaa kar la-i-aa.
God does not take into consideration any of his virtues and evil deeds; bestowing mercy, He makes him His own.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਔਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜਤਾਲਦਾ, ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣਾ (ਸੇਵਕ) ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਤੁਲ ਬਡਾਈ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਜਇਆ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨੪॥
atul badaa-ee achut abhinaasee naanak uchrai har kee ja-i-aa. ||2||8||124||
The greatness of the eternal God is beyond any estimation; Nanak acclaims the victory of God. ||2||8||124||
ਅਟੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਬੇ-ਮਿਸਾਲ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਉਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੈ ਜੈਕਾਰ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨੪॥

ਬਿਨੁ ਭੈ ਭਗਤੀ ਤਰਨੁ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
bin bhai bhagtee taran kaisay.
It is not possible to swim across the worldly ocean of vices without the revered fear and devotional worship of God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਭਰੋਸੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karahu anoograhu patit uDhaaran raakh su-aamee aap bharosay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God! the savior of sinners, I am dependant only on Your support; bestow mercy and save me from the vices. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਆਸਰੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਦ ਮਾਵਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਾਤਾ ਸੁਆਨ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
simran nahee aavat firat mad maavat bikhi-aa raataa su-aan jaisay.
O’ God! one does not know the way to remember You; intoxicated with ego and imbued with the love for worldly riches, he roams like a dog.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੀਵ ਇਉਂ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਹਲਕਿਆ) ਕੁੱਤਾ।
ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਵਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਮੋਹਾਵਤ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਬੁਡੇ ਐਸੇ ॥੧॥
a-oDh bihaavat aDhik mohaavat paap kamaavat buday aisay. ||1||
As age passes, people are plundered more and more by the vices; this is how, committing sins they are drowning in the world-ocean of vices. ||1||
ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਉਮਰ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ) ਵਧੀਕ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬੱਸ! ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸਰਨਿ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਰਵਣੁ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
saran dukh bhanjan purakh niranjan saaDhoo sangat ravan jaisay.
O’ the all pervading immaculate God, the destroyer of sorrows! I have come to your refuge; howsoever possible, bless me that I may lovingly remember You in the holy congregation.
ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੀ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ (ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ।
ਕੇਸਵ ਕਲੇਸ ਨਾਸ ਅਘ ਖੰਡਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਤ ਦਰਸ ਦਿਸੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੨੫॥
kaysav kalays naas agh khandan naanak jeevat daras disay. ||2||9||125||
O’ God! the destroyer of sorrows, dispeller of sins, Nanak spiritually survives only upon beholding Your blessed vision. ||2||9||125||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਕੇਸ਼ਵ! ਹੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੨੫॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਹਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ॥
aapeh mayl la-ay.
O’ God, on Your own You unite those with You, who remain in Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਆਏ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਦੋਖ ਗਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab tay saran tumaaree aa-ay tab tay dokh ga-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The moment they come to Your refuge, all their evils vanish. ||1||Pause||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ (ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਅਰੁ ਚਿੰਤ ਬਿਰਾਨੀ ਸਾਧਹ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ॥
taj abhimaan ar chint biraanee saaDhah saran pa-ay.
Renouncing ego and dependence on others, those who come to the refuge of the true saints,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ ਆਸ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਖਏ ॥੧॥
jap jap naam tumHaaro pareetam tan tay rog kha-ay. ||1||
all their afflictions get destroyed by always remembering You, O’ dear God. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮਹਾ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਜਾਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਾਖੇ ਧਾਰਿ ਦਏ ॥
mahaa mugaDh ajaan agi-aanee raakhay Dhaar da-ay.
O’ God! bestowing mercy, You save even those utterly foolish, unwise and spiritually ignorant people from vices,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਮੂਰਖਾਂ ਅੰਞਾਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੨੬॥
kaho naanak gur pooraa bhayti-o aavan jaan rahay. ||2||1||126||
who meet and follow the teachings of the perfect Guru; Nanak says, their cycle of birth and death comes to an end. ||2||1||126||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੨੬॥

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਜੀਵਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨੀ ॥
jeeva-o naam sunee.
I spiritually rejuvenate by listening to God’s Name,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਉ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤਬ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ja-o suparsan bha-ay gur pooray tab mayree aas punee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
this desire of remembering God’s Name gets fulfilled only when the perfect Guru becomes pleased with me. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਤਦੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੀਰ ਗਈ ਬਾਧੀ ਮਨਿ ਧੀਰਾ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਅਨਦ ਧੁਨੀ ॥
peer ga-ee baaDhee man Dheeraa mohi-o anad Dhunee.
My pain (of separation from God) goes away, my mind feels serene and fascinated with the sound of bliss-giving melody,
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪੀੜ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਰੌ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਉਪਜਿਓ ਚਾਉ ਮਿਲਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਖਿਨੀ ॥੧॥
upji-o chaa-o milan parabh pareetam rahan na jaa-ay khinee. ||1||
when the yearning to meet my beloved God welled up within me; now I cannot live without Him, even for an instant. ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਭੀ ਰਿਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
