kar kirpaa pooran parabh daatay nirmal jas naanak daas kahay. ||2||17||103||
O’ perfect God, the benefactor, bestow mercy so that Your devotee Nanak may keep chanting Your immaculate praises. ||2||17||103||.
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੧੦੩॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਸੁਲਹੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
sulhee tay naaraa-in raakh.
God himself protected us from Sulhi khan (an invader).
ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਹੀ ਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਿਆ l
ਸੁਲਹੀ ਕਾ ਹਾਥੁ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਸੁਲਹੀ ਹੋਇ ਮੂਆ ਨਾਪਾਕੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sulhee kaa haath kahee na pahuchai sulhee ho-ay moo-aa naapaak. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Sulhi khan could not reach us and was burnt alive, thus becoming defiled. (according to Muslim faith). ||1||Pause||.
ਸੁਲਹੀ ਖਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਲੀਨ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਢਿ ਕੁਠਾਰੁ ਖਸਮਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਗਇਆ ਹੈ ਖਾਕੁ ॥
kaadh kuthaar khasam sir kaati-aa khin meh ho-ay ga-i-aa hai khaak.
He was burnt to ashes in an instant, as if the Master-God pulled out an axe and chopped off his head.
ਖਸਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੌਤ-ਰੂਪ ਕੁਹਾੜਾ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਸੁਲਹੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਵੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਹ ਦੀ ਢੇਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੰਦਾ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਪਚਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੀਨਾ ਧਾਕੁ ॥੧॥
mandaa chitvat chitvat pachi-aa jin rachi-aa tin deenaa Dhaak. ||1||
He got consumed in the midst of his evil designs; He who had created him, shoved him into a burning kiln. ||1||
ਬੁਰਾ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਸੜ ਮਰਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਿੱਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮੀਤ ਧਨੁ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਰਹਿਓ ਸੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਇਆ ਸਭ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਕੁ ॥
putar meet Dhan kichhoo na rahi-o so chhod ga-i-aa sabh bhaa-ee saak.
None of his sons, friends and wealth remained with him; he departed, leaving behind all his brothers and relatives.
ਸਾਰਾ ਸਾਕ (ਕੁਟੰਬ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਸੁਲਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ) ਤੁਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ, ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਰਹਿ ਗਏl
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਾਕੁ ॥੨॥੧੮॥੧੦੪॥
kaho naanak tis parabh balihaaree jin jan kaa keeno pooran vaak. ||2||18||104||
Nanak says, he is dedicated to God who fulfilled the prayer of his devotee. ||2||18||104||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੮॥੧੦੪॥

ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸੇਵ ॥

Perfect and completely fruitful are the teachings of the perfect Guru.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ) ਕਾਮਯਾਬ (ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਕੀਆ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aapay aap vartai su-aamee kaaraj raas kee-aa gurdayv. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Master-God Himself pervades everywhere; the Divine Guru has accomplished the task of my life ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ-ਸਰੂਪ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਥਾਟੁ ਬਨਾਇਓ ਆਪਿ ॥
aad maDh parabh ant su-aamee apnaa thaat banaa-i-o aap.
The Master-God who Himself fashioned His Creation, has been there since the beginning, He is present now and will be there after the end.
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ, ਹੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਖੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋ ਵਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੧॥
apnay sayvak kee aapay raakhai parabh mayray ko vad partaap. ||1||
God Himself saves the honor of His devotee, great is the glory of my God. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੰਤ ॥
paarbarahm parmaysur satgur vas keenHay jin saglay jant.
The supreme God, who has kept all creatures and beings under His control, He Himself is the divine-Guru.
ਜਿਸ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ l
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤ ॥੨॥੧੯॥੧੦੫॥
charan kamal naanak sarnaa-ee raam naam jap nirmal mant. ||2||19||105||
O’ Nanak, we should remain in the refuge of God’s immaculate Name and keep meditating on the immaculate mantra of God’s Name. ||2||19||105||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਮੰਤਰ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੯॥੧੦੫॥

ਤਾਪ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਆਪ ॥
taap paap tay raakhay aap.
God those Himself protects those from all the afflictions and sins,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
seetal bha-ay gur charnee laagay raam naam hirday meh jaap. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who follow the Guru’s teachings and remember God’s Name in their heart; by doing that they become tranquil. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਠੰਢੇ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਸਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੀਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਉਧਾਰ ਨਵ ਖੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ॥
kar kirpaa hasat parabh deenay jagat uDhaar nav khand partaap.
God is the savior of the world and His glory resounds in the entire universe; bestowing mercy, those whom He protects by extending His support,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਚਮਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਅਨਦ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਸਚੁ ਧ੍ਰਾਪ ॥੧॥
dukh binsay sukh anad parvaysaa tarisan bujhee man tan sach Dharaap. ||1||
sorrows vanish, bliss prevails, the fire of worldly desires is quenched and their mind along with sensory organs are satiated by meditating on God. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ (ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕੋ ਮਾਈ ਬਾਪੁ ॥
anaath ko naath saran samrathaa sagal sarisat ko maa-ee baap.
God is the support of the supportless and all-powerful to provide refuge; He is like mother and father of the entire universe.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ, ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਂ-ਪਿਉ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਲਾਪ ॥੨॥੨੦॥੧੦੬॥
bhagat vachhal bhai bhanjan su-aamee gun gaavat naanak aalaap. ||2||20||106||
O’ Nanak, sing and chant the praises of the Master-God, He is the lover of His devotional worship and the destroyer of fears. ||2||20||106||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭਗਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੨॥੨੦॥੧੦੬॥

ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥
jis tay upji-aa tiseh pachhaan.
O’ my friend, recognize that God, who has created you.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਹੋਏ ਕਲਿਆਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paarbarahm parmaysar Dhi-aa-i-aa kusal khaym ho-ay kali-aan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who remembers the supreme God, happiness and bliss prevails in him and he attains emansipation.||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਬਡ ਭਾਗੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥
gur pooraa bhayti-o bad bhaagee antarjaamee sugharh sujaan.
Those fortunate people who meet the perfect Guru and follow his teachings, realize the sagacious and omniscient God.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪਨੇ ਬਡ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਕੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
haath day-ay raakhay kar apnay bad samrath nimaani-aa ko maan. ||1||
God is all-powerful and the honor of honorless; by extending His support and making them His own, He protects His devotees from all doubts. ||1||
ਜੋ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਡਰਾਂ ਭਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਏ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਚਾਨਾਣੁ ॥
bharam bhai binas ga-ay khin bheetar anDhkaar pargatay chaanaan.
All their doubts and fears vanish in an instant and Divine Light enlightens the darkness of ignorance.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਭਰਮ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,ਅਗਿਆਨ-ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਆਰਾਧੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੧੦੭॥
saas saas aaraaDhai naanak sadaa sadaa jaa-ee-ai kurbaan. ||2||21||107||
Nanak lovingly remembers God with each and every breath; O’ my friend, we should always dedicate to Him forever. ||2||21||107||
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੧੦੭॥

ਦੋਵੈ ਥਾਵ ਰਖੇ ਗੁਰ ਸੂਰੇ ॥

One who remembers God, the brave Guru protects him, here and hereafter.
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ) ਸੂਰਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਲਤ ਪਲਤ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਪੂਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
halat palat paarbarahm savaaray kaaraj ho-ay saglay pooray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The supreme God embellished his both the world (this and the next world) and all his tasks become accomplished. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਜਨੁ ਹੋਵਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰੇ ॥
har har naam japat sukh sehjay majan hovat saaDhoo Dhooray.
By remembering God with adoration one receives spiritual peace as if one intuitively receives the merits of ablution in the dust of the Guru’s feet.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,ਅਤੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣ ਰਹੇ ਥਿਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕੇ ਮਿਟੇ ਬਿਸੂਰੇ ॥੧॥
aavan jaan rahay thit paa-ee janam maran kay mitay bisooray. ||1||
One’s worries and anxiety from birth to death are eradicated, he achieves spiritual poise and his cycle of birth and death ends. ||1||
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਮਰਨ ਤਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਝੋਰੇ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਤਰੇ ਛੁਟੇ ਭੈ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਏਕੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥
bharam bhai taray chhutay bhai jam kay ghat ghat ayk rahi-aa bharpooray.
One who crosses over the world-ocean of fears and doubts and is freed from the fear of the demon of death, he beholds God pervading in each and every heart.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਭਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਮਦੂਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
