Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਸ੍ਰਵਨੀ ਸੁਨਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
sarvanee sun-o har har haray thaakur jas gaava-o.
O’ God, bless me that with my ears I may always listen to Your Name, and sing Your praises.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਸੰਤ ਚਰਣ ਕਰ ਸੀਸੁ ਧਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥
sant charan kar sees Dhar har naam Dhi-aava-o. ||1||
Bowing before the Guru with folded hands, I may keep meditating on God’s Name with adoration. ||1||
ਸੰਤ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਇਹ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
kar kirpaa da-i-aal parabh ih niDh siDh paava-o.
O’ merciful God, bestow mercy that I may receive this wealth and success;
ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੌਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਲੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਲਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sant janaa kee raynukaa lai maathai laava-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
so that I may engage in the most humble service of Your saints, like applying the dust of their feet onto my forehead. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਥੇ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨੀਚ ਤੇ ਨੀਚੁ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਚੁ ਹੋਇ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਬੁਲਾਵਉ ॥
neech tay neech at neech ho-ay kar bin-o bulaava-o.
Becoming extremely humble, I may offer my submission before Your saints,
ਮੈਂ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਪਾਵ ਮਲੋਵਾ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ॥੨॥
paav malovaa aap ti-aag satsang samaava-o. ||2||
Shedding my self-conceit, I may completely dedicate myself to the service of Your saints and merge in their company. ||2||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਘੁੱਟਿਆ ਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਨਹ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਅਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਧਾਵਉ ॥
saas saas nah veesrai an kateh na Dhaava-o.
O’ God, bless me that I may never forsake You even while taking in a breath, and may never look to anybody else for anything.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਦੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਨਾਹ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਾਂ।
ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥੩॥
safal darsan gur bhaytee-ai maan moh mitaava-o. ||3||
I may meet that Guru, by whose fruitful vision (teachings), I may eradicate my ego and the worldly attachments. ||3||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਨਾਵਉ ॥
sat santokh da-i-aa Dharam seegaar banaava-o.
I may make truth, contentment, compassion, and righteousness the decorations of my spiritual life.
ਮੈਂ ਸਤ ਨੂੰ, ਸੰਤੋਖ ਨੂੰ, ਦਇਆ ਨੂੰ, ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਸਜਾਵਟ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਾਂ।
ਸਫਲ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਉ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੪੫॥
safal suhaagan naankaa apunay parabh bhaava-o. ||4||15||45||
O’ Nanak, like a fortunate soul-bride, I may also become pleasing to my God. ||4||15||45||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੋਹਾਗਣ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਮੈ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਾਂ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੪੫॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਅਟਲ ਬਚਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨਾ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
atal bachan saaDhoo janaa sabh meh paragtaa-i-aa.
This is clear to everyone that the Guru’s words are eternal.
ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਕਦੇ ਟਲਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
jis jan ho-aa saaDhsang tis bhaytai har raa-i-aa. ||1||
He who joins the company of the Guru, realizes the sovereign God. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਇਹ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
ih parteet govind kee jap har sukh paa-i-aa.
Those who developed faith in God, enjoyed peace by meditating on Him with adoration.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anik baataa sabh kar rahay gur ghar lai aa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
While others kept talking about different ways of realizing God, the Guru made me realize God in my own heart. ||1||Pause||
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਂ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ-ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਆਂਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਤਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਹਸਾਇਆ ॥
saran paray kee raakh-taa naahee sehsaa-i-aa.
God preserves the honor of a person who seeks His refuge; there is no doubt about this at all.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ-ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਕਰਮ ਭੂਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਇ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਦੁਲਭਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
karam bhoom har naam bo-ay a-osar dulbhaa-i-aa. ||2||
The human body is like a field of our deeds; therefore, sow the seed of God’s Name in your body, because such an opportunity is very difficult to obtain again. ||2||
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੀਜੋ। ਇਹ ਮੌਕਾ ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
antarjaamee aap parabh sabh karay karaa-i-aa.
God Himself is omniscient; He does and causes everything to be done.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਘਣੇ ਕਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
patit puneet ghanay karay thaakur birdaa-i-aa. ||3||
This is the natural tradition of God that He purifies so many sinners. ||3||
(ਸਰਨ ਪਏ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਤ ਭੂਲਹੁ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਜਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਭਰਮਾਇਆ ॥
mat bhoolahu maanukh jan maa-i-aa bharmaa-i-aa.
O’ human beings, don’t be misled by the illusions of worldly riches and power.
ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੋ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਭੁੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਜਾਣੀ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖਸੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੪੬॥
naanak tis pat raakhsee jo parabh pehraa-i-aa. ||4||16||46||
O’ Nanak, God preserves the honour of a person whom He Himself has honored. ||4||16||46||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਰੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੪੬॥

Raag Bilaaval, Guru:
ਮਾਟੀ ਤੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਦੇਹ ॥
maatee tay jin saaji-aa kar durlabh dayh.
From clay, God has created this difficult to obtain human body,
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵ ਦਾ) ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਅਨਿਕ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਢਕੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੇਹ ॥੧॥
anik chhidar man meh dhakay nirmal daristayh. ||1||
and has hidden numerous vices in the mind, so that this body may look immaculate. ||1||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਐਬ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕਾ ਰੱਖੇ ਹਨ, ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸੁਥਰਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਏਹ ॥
ki-o bisrai parabh manai tay jis kay gun ayh.
Why should that God, who has these innumerable qualities, ever be forsaken from our mind?
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲੇ?
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਜਿ ਰਚੇ ਜਿ ਆਨ ਸਿਉ ਸੋ ਰਲੀਐ ਖੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
parabh taj rachay je aan si-o so ralee-ai khayh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who forsakes God and develops love for other worldly things, mingles with dust and his life goes to waste. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਮਤ ਬਿਲਮ ਕਰੇਹ ॥
simrahu simrahu saas saas mat bilam karayh.
Remember God’s Name at all times with every breath, do not delay it at all?
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ। ਵੇਖਣਾ, ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਢਿੱਲ ਨਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ।
ਛੋਡਿ ਪ੍ਰਪੰਚੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੇ ਨੇਹ ॥੨॥
chhod parpanch parabh si-o rachahu taj koorhay nayh. ||2||
Renounce visible expanse and love for perishable worldly things, and develop love for God. ||2||
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖੋ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਏਕ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਕੀਏ ਹੈ ਹੋਸੀ ਏਹ ॥
jin anik ayk baho rang kee-ay hai hosee ayh.
The one God, who has created many kinds of living beings in the world, is present now and will be there in future.
ਜਿਸ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੰਗਾ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਅਗਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਲੇਹ ॥੩॥
kar sayvaa tis paarbarahm gur tay mat layh. ||3||
So follow the Guru’s teachings and engage in God’s devotional service. ||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ ॥੩॥
ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਵਡਾ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਰਨੇਹ ॥
oochay tay oochaa vadaa sabh sang barnayh.
God is the highest of the high and the greatest of all; He is said to be with all beings.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਤੋ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ, ਵੱਡਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਉਂਞ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸ ਕੋ ਦਾਸਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਿ ਲੇਹ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੪੭॥
daas daas ko daasraa naanak kar layh. ||4||17||47||
O’ Nanak! pray, O’ God! make me the humble servant of the servants of Your devotees. ||4||17||47||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ, ਤੇ ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੪੭॥

ਏਕ ਟੇਕ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਅਨ ਆਸ ॥
ayk tayk govind kee ti-aagee an aas.
God’s devotees depend only on His support and they renounce all other hopes.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰ (ਆਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਣਤਾਸ ॥੧॥
sabh oopar samrath parabh pooran guntaas. ||1||
God is the most powerful of all and the treasure of all virtues. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥
jan kaa naam aDhaar hai parabh sarnee paahi.
God’s Name is the support for His devotees, and they always remain in His refuge.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਸੇਵਕ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਸੰਤਨ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
parmaysar kaa aasraa santan man maahi. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In the minds of the saints, God’s support for them is always there. ||1||Pause||
ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਪਿ ਰਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਦੇਵਸੀ ਆਪੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ ॥
aap rakhai aap dayvsee aapay partipaarai.
God Himself protects all living beings; He is their benefactor and provides sustenance to all.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹਰੇਕ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਦੀ) ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
