ਜਿਹ ਜਨ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੇ ॥
jih jan ot gahee parabh tayree say sukhee-ay parabh sarnay.
O’ God, those who have taken Your support, enjoy spiritual peace in Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਹ ਨਰ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੀਆ ਮਹਿ ਗਨਣੇ ॥੨॥
jih nar bisri-aa purakh biDhaataa tay dukhee-aa meh gannay. ||2||
Those who forget the all pervading God are counted among the most miserable beings. ||2||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਖੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਹ ਗੁਰ ਮਾਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਤਿਹ ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਰਸੁ ਕਰਿਆ ॥
jih gur maan parabhoo liv laa-ee tih mahaa anand ras kari-aa.
Those who followed the Guru’s teachings and lovingly attuned themselves to God, enjoyed the delights of supreme bliss.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜ ਲਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬੜਾ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਿਆ।
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬੇਮੁਖਾਈ ਤੇ ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
jih parabhoo bisaar gur tay baymukhaa-ee tay narak ghor meh pari-aa. ||3||
Those who forget God and forsake the Guru, endure terrible misery as if they have fallen in the horrible hell ||3||
ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥
jit ko laa-i-aa tit hee laagaa taiso hee vartaaraa.
As God engages someone, so he is engaged and so does he perform.
ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹ ਪਕਰੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਏ ਮਗਨ ਚਰਨਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੫॥
naanak sah pakree santan kee ridai bha-ay magan charnaaraa. ||4||4||15||
O’ Nanak, those who have taken to the refuge of the Saints, their hearts remain delighted with God’s love. ||4||4||15||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੫॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਰਾਜਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਉਰਝਾਇਓ ਮਾਨਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥
raajan meh raajaa urjhaa-i-o maanan meh abhimaanee.
Just as a king remains involved in the affairs of the state, a self-conceited person is always on the lookout for opportunities to satisfy his ego,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਣ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਦਾ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਲੋਭਨ ਮਹਿ ਲੋਭੀ ਲੋਭਾਇਓ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਚੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥੧॥
loban meh lobhee lobhaa-i-o ti-o har rang rachay gi-aanee. ||1||
and a greedy person is enticed by greed, similarly a divinely wise person remains absorbed in God’s love. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਹਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥
har jan ka-o ihee suhaavai.
To the devotees of God, only this thing looks pleasing,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਪੇਖਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paykh nikat kar sayvaa satgur har keertan hee tariptaavai. rahaa-o.
that by experiencing God close to them, they follow the Guru’s teachings and remain satiated in singing God’s praises. ||Pause||
(ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਅਮਲਨ ਸਿਉ ਅਮਲੀ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ਭੂਮਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
amlan si-o amlee laptaa-i-o bhooman bhoom pi-aaree.
Just as an addict remains obsessed with his addiction, a landlord is in love with his land,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਖੀਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਹੈ ਲੀਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਤ ਐਸੇ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
kheer sang baarik hai leenaa parabh sant aisay hitkaaree. ||2||
and an infant is attached to milk, similarly saints are the lovers of God. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੱਚਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਬਿਦਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਦੁਅੰਸੀ ਰਚਿਆ ਨੈਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
bidi-aa meh bidu-ansee rachi-aa nain daykh sukh paavahi.
Just as a scholar remains absorbed in learning and teaching; the eyes are happy just being able to see.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ (ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਪੜਾਣ) ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜੈਸੇ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਾਦਿ ਲੁਭਾਨੀ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥
jaisay rasnaa saad lubhaanee ti-o har jan har gun gaavahi. ||3||
Just as the tongue is always craving relishes, similarly devotees of God always sing God’s praises. ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੀਭ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਣ)ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਜੈਸੀ ਭੂਖ ਤੈਸੀ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਕੁ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
jaisee bhookh taisee kaa poorak sagal ghataa kaa su-aamee.
God, the master of all, is the fulfiller of all kinds of desires of His beings.
ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਲਗੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੬॥
naanak pi-aas lagee darsan kee parabh mili-aa antarjaamee. ||4||5||16||
O’ Nanak, a person who yearns to experience a glimpse of God, the all-knower God Himself causes that person to realize Him. ||4||5||16||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪ) ਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੬॥

ਹਮ ਮੈਲੇ ਤੁਮ ਊਜਲ ਕਰਤੇ ਹਮ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਤੂ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
ham mailay tum oojal kartay ham nirgun too daataa.
O’ God, we are loaded with the filth of vices, but You are the purifier of our sins; we are without any virtues, but You are the bestower of virtues.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਤੁਮ ਚਤੁਰ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਕਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ॥੧॥
ham moorakh tum chatur si-aanay too sarab kalaa kaa gi-aataa. ||1||
We are foolish, but You are profoundly wise, and knower of all kinds of techniques. ||1||
ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਦਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਬਣਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੁਨਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਧੋ ਹਮ ਐਸੇ ਤੂ ਐਸਾ ॥
maaDho ham aisay too aisaa.
O’ God, we are such evil doers, and You are such a forgiver.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰੀ) ਹਾਂ, ਤੇ, ਤੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ (ਉਪਕਾਰੀ) ਹੈਂ।
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਤੁਮ ਪਾਪ ਖੰਡਨ ਨੀਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੇਸਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham paapee tum paap khandan neeko thaakur daysaa. rahaa-o.
We are sinners, and You are the destroyer of sins; O’ God, Your abode, the holy congregation, is beautiful. ||Pause||
ਅਸੀਂ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਤੇਰਾ ਦੇਸ-ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੁਮ ਸਭ ਸਾਜੇ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜੇ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥
tum sabh saajay saaj nivaajay jee-o pind day paraanaa.
O’ God, You fashioned all beings and having been fashioned, You blessed them with body, soul and breaths.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਾ, ਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਬਖਸੇ
ਨਿਰਗੁਨੀਆਰੇ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
nirgunee-aaray gun nahee ko-ee tum daan dayh miharvaanaa. ||2||
O’ Merciful God, we are unvirtuous, we have no virtue at all; please bless us with the gift of your virtues. ||2||
ਹੇ ਮੇਹਰਵਾਨ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੨॥
ਤੁਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਭਲਾ ਹਮ ਭਲੋ ਨ ਜਾਨਹ ਤੁਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
tum karahu bhalaa ham bhalo na jaanah tum sadaa sadaa da-i-aalaa.
O’ God, You do good for us, but we do not appreciate Your favors; even then You always remain merciful to us.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੁਮ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਬਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
tum sukh-daa-ee purakh biDhaatay tum raakho apunay baalaa. ||3||
O’ the all-pervading creator, You are the bestower of peace; please save us, your children from vices. ||3||
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰ ॥੩॥
ਤੁਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਅਟਲ ਸੁਲਿਤਾਨ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਜਾਚੈ ॥
tum niDhaan atal sulitaan jee-a jant sabh jaachai.
O’ God, You are the treasure of virtues and sovereign king; all beings and creatures beg of You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੁਸੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੋ। ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਮ ਇਹੈ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਛੈ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੭॥
kaho naanak ham ihai havaalaa raakh santan kai paachhai. ||4||6||17||
Nanak says, O’ God, such is our condition; please keep us in the refuge of saints. ||4||6||17||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਸਾਡਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੭॥

ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਆਪਨ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਦੇ ਤਹ ਤੁਮ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
maat garabh meh aapan simran day tah tum raakhanhaaray.
O’ our Savior, You saved me in the mother’s womb by blessing with Your remembrance.
ਹੇ ਬਚਾਉਣਹਾਰ! ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਓਥੇ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਪਾਵਕ ਸਾਗਰ ਅਥਾਹ ਲਹਰਿ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਰਹੁ ਤਾਰਨਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
paavak saagar athaah lahar meh taarahu taaranhaaray. ||1||
O’ Savior God! ferry me across the worldly ocean full of waves of fierce worldly desires and vices. ||1||
ਹੇ ਤਾਰਣਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਡੂੰਘੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਪਏ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਧੌ ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਮੋਰਾ ॥

O’ God, You are my Master and protector.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ਧੋਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eehaa oohaa tuhaaro Dhoraa. rahaa-o.
Here and hereafter, You alone are my Support. ||Pause||
ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕੀਤੇ ਕਉ ਮੇਰੈ ਸੰਮਾਨੈ ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
keetay ka-o mayrai sammaanai karanhaar tarin jaanai.
The human being values Your creation like a mountain, and gives little importance to the Creator.
ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਜੀਵ) ਮੇਰੂ ਪਰਬਤ ਜੇਡੀਆਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਤੀਲੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਾਗਨ ਕਉ ਸਗਲੀ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਨੈ ॥੨॥
too daataa maagan ka-o saglee daan deh parabh bhaanai. ||2||
O’ God, You are the Great Giver and we are all mere beggars; You give gifts according to Your Will. ||2||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਖਿਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਅਵਰਾ ਅਚਰਜ ਚਲਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥
khin meh avar khinai meh avraa achraj chalat tumaaray.
O’ God, in one moment, You are in one form, and in another You appear entirely different; wonderful and astonishing are Your plays.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ! ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਹੀ, ਅਸਚਰਜ ਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੌਤਕ,
ਰੂੜੋ ਗੂੜੋ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੋ ਊਚੌ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
roorho goorho gahir gambheero oochou agam apaaray. ||3||
O’ God, You are beautiful, mysterious, profound, unfathomable, supreme, inaccessible and infinite. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ, ਗੈਬੀ, ਥਾਹ-ਰਹਿਤ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ, ਬੇਅੰਤ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ॥੩॥
