sir sabhnaa samrath nadar nihaali-aa. ||17||
You are the almighty Master of all and bestow Your glance of grace on all.||17||
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧੭॥

Shalok, Fifth Guru:
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਦ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਦੁਸਟ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥
kaam kroDh mad lobh moh dusat baasnaa nivaar.
O’ God, Help me get rid of lust, anger, ego, greed, attachment, and evil desires.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਲੋਭ, ਮੋਹ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਸਤੀ ਤੇ ਭੈੜੀਆਂ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ!
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
raakh layho parabh aapnay naanak sad balihaar. ||1||
O’ God, save Your devotee Nanak, who is always dedicated to You.||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ! ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਹਾਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Fifth Guru:
ਖਾਂਦਿਆ ਖਾਂਦਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਘਠਾ ਪੈਨੰਦਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਅੰਗੁ ॥
khaaNdi-aa khaaNdi-aa muhu ghathaa painandi-aa sabh ang.
The entire life is passed taking care of the physical needs; mouth is worn out by eating and all other body parts have grown weary by wearing clothes.
ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਘਸ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਨਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੀ ਲਿੱਸਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਹਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਹਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ),
ਨਾਨਕ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਸਚਿ ਨ ਲਗੋ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੨॥
naanak Dharig tinaa daa jeevi-aa jin sach na lago rang. ||2||
O’ Nanak, accursed is the life of such persons, who are never imbued with the love of God. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤਿਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਹੋਵਣਾ ॥
ji-o ji-o tayraa hukam tivai ti-o hovnaa.
O’ God, everything happens in the universe according to Your command.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਰਖਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਹ ਜਾਇ ਖੜੋਵਣਾ ॥
jah jah rakheh aap tah jaa-ay kharhovanaa.
In whatever condition You keep the beings, there they go and stay.
ਜਿਥੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਓਥੇ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ) ਜਾ ਖਲੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੈ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਧੋਵਣਾ ॥
naam tayrai kai rang durmat Dhovnaa.
They wash off their evil intellect with the love of Your Name.
ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਭੈੜੀ ਮੱਤ ਧੋ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਖੋਵਣਾ ॥
jap jap tuDh nirankaar bharam bha-o khovnaa.
O’ God, by always remembering You, they shed their dread and doubt.
ਹੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਜੋਵਣਾ ॥
jo tayrai rang ratay say jon na jovnaa.
Those who become imbued with Your love are not trapped in taking birth in various species.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਇਕੁ ਨੈਣ ਅਲੋਵਣਾ ॥
antar baahar ik nain alovanaa.
Both inside and out, they see only You with their spiritually enlightened eyes.
ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਉਹ ਇਕ (ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਰੋਵਣਾ ॥
jinHee pachhaataa hukam tinH kaday na rovnaa.
Those who understand God’s command never feel remorse for anything.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਨਾਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਰੋਵਣਾ ॥੧੮॥
naa-o naanak bakhsees man maahi parovanaa. ||18||
O’ Nanak, they are blessed with the gift of Naam, which they always keep enshrined in their heart. ||18||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ (ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੮॥

Shalok, Fifth Guru:
ਜੀਵਦਿਆ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਮੁਆ ਰਲੰਦੜੋ ਖਾਕ ॥
jeevdi-aa na chayti-o mu-aa raland-rho khaak.
One who does not remember God while alive and is consumed in dust upon dying;
ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਲ ਗਿਆ;
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਦਾਰਿਆ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਨਪਾਕ ॥੧॥
naanak dunee-aa sang gudaari-aa saakat moorh napaak. ||1||
O’ Nanak, such a foolish, unholy and faithless cynic has wasted all his life in the company of worldly people. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਗੰਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ) ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥

Fifth Guru:
ਜੀਵੰਦਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਮਰੰਦਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
jeevandi-aa har chayti-aa marandi-aa har rang.
He who always remembered God while alive and remained imbued with God’s love while dying;
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਜੀਊਂਦਿਆਂ (ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾ,
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
janam padaarath taari-aa naanak saaDhoo sang. ||2||
O’ Nanak, he redeemed the precious human life in the company of the holy. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰੂਪ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੨॥

Pauree:
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਆਪਿ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆ ॥
aad jugaadee aap rakhan vaali-aa.
God Himself has been the savior from the very beginning and through the ages.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਆਪ (ਸਭ ਦੀ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
sach naam kartaar sach pasaari-aa.
Eternal is the Name of the Creator and He is pervading everywhere.
ਉਸ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਊਣਾ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਘਟੇ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
oonaa kahee na ho-ay ghatay ghat saari-aa.
There is no place without Him and He is pervading each and every heart.
ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ; ਹਰੇਕ ਇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਸਮਰਥ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਘਾਲਿਆ ॥
miharvaan samrath aapay hee ghaali-aa.
He is merciful on all and is all-powerful; on His own He causes human beings to engage in His remembrance.
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਪਿ ਸੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਿਆ ॥
jinH man vuthaa aap say sadaa sukhaali-aa.
Those who realize His presence in their minds are forever at peace.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਪੇ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਲਿਆ ॥
aapay rachan rachaa-ay aapay hee paali-aa.
Having created the creation, God Himself is nurturing it.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਪਾਰਿਆ ॥
sabh kichh aapay aap bay-ant apaari-aa.
God is everything by Himself, He is infinite and has no limits.
ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਅਪਾਰ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿਆ ॥੧੯॥
gur pooray kee tayk naanak sammHaali-aa. ||19||
O’ Nanak, one who has taken the support of the Perfect Guru, always remembers that God. ||19||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥

Shalok, Fifth Guru:
ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅਰੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਰਖਿਆ ॥
aad maDh ar ant parmaysar rakhi-aa.
From the beginning, in the middle and till the end of life, the supreme God has saved His devotee from the vices.
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ, ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਘਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਚਖਿਆ ॥
satgur ditaa har naam amrit chakhi-aa.
The true Guru has blessed and the devotee has tasted the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਚੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ॥
saaDhaa sang apaar an-din har gun ravai.
This devotee has received the invaluable company of the saints, where he always sings the praises of God.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਸਤ-ਸੰਗ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਏ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਭਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਨਹ ਭਵੈ ॥
paa-ay manorath sabh jonee nah bhavai.
This way he achieves all the objectives of his life and then he doesn’t wander taking birth in various species.
ਇੰਜ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ।
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਹਥਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਜੋ ਕਰੈ ॥
sabh kichh kartay hath kaaran jo karai.
But everything is in the control of the Creator; He arranges the cause for any happening.
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਹੀ ਆਪ (ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ) ਵਸੀਲਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਸੰਤਾ ਧੂਰਿ ਤਰੈ ॥੧॥
naanak mangai daan santaa Dhoor tarai. ||1||
Nanak begs for the gift of the humble service of the saints, through which he may also swim across the world-ocean of vices.||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਨਾਨਕ ਭੀ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥

Fifth Guru:
ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
tis no man vasaa-ay jin upaa-i-aa.
Enshrine that God in your mind, who has created you.
ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਖਸਮੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jin jan Dhi-aa-i-aa khasam tin sukh paa-i-aa.
Whosoever has meditated on that Master has enjoyed the celestial peace,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਖਸਮ (-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
safal janam parvaan gurmukh aa-i-aa.
and successful is the birth, and approved is the coming in this world of this Guru’s follower.
ਉਸ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦਾ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਉਣਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੈ ਬੁਝਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਖਸਮਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥
hukmai bujh nihaal khasam furmaa-i-aa.
By understanding and following what the Master-God has commanded, one always remains delighted.
ਖਸਮ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਜੋ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਉਹ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ) ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਆ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੁ ਨਹ ਭਰਮਾਇਆ ॥
jis ho-aa aap kirpaal so nah bharmaa-i-aa.
That person, on whom God becomes gracious, is never lost in doubt.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਦਿਤਾ ਖਸਮਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jo jo ditaa khasam so-ee sukh paa-i-aa.
Whatever the Master-God gave him, that person felt spiritual peace in that.
ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਿਤ ॥
naanak jisahi da-i-aal bujhaa-ay hukam mit.
O’ Nanak, the person on whom God becomes merciful, realizes His command.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਮੇਹਰਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਮਹਿ ਨਿਤ ॥੨॥
jisahi bhulaa-ay aap mar mar jameh nit. ||2||
Whom God Himself strays from the righteous path, that person keeps on going in the cycles of birth and death. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਿੱਤ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਮਰਦੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥

ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਤਕਾਲਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਟਿਕਣ ਨ ਦਿਤੇ ॥
nindak maaray tatkaal khin tikan na ditay.
In an instant, God has destroyed the slanderers of His devotees and He didn’t let them rest in peace even for a moment.
(ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਝੱਟ-ਪੱਟ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਂਲ ਟਿਕਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਤਾ l
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਖਵਿ ਸਕਹਿ ਫੜਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਜੁਤੇ ॥
parabh daas kaa dukh na khav sakahi farh jonee jutay.
God cannot tolerate any pain or suffering of His devotees, He casts the slanderers in births through different species.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ, ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੂਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
