ਹਸਤ ਚਰਨ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ਕਮਾਈਐ ॥
hasat charan sant tahal kamaa-ee-ai.
With your hands and feet perform the service of the Saints.
ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧੦॥
naanak ih sanjam parabh kirpaa paa-ee-ai. ||10||
O’ Nanak, this kind of self-discipline is obtained by God’s grace.||10||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ

ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਬਖਾਨੀਐ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਸ੍ਵਾਦੁ ॥
ayko ayk bakhaanee-ai birlaa jaanai savaad.
We should utter praises of the one and only God. Only a very rare person enjoys the bliss of God’s praises.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ l ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥੧੧॥
gun gobind na jaanee-ai naanak sabh bismaad. ||11||
O’ Nanak, we cannot completely understand Him by contemplating His virtues, because he is all an amazing wonder.||11||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ

ਏਕਾਦਸੀ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਪੇਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮੁ ॥
aykaadasee nikat paykhahu har raam.
The eleventh lunar day: Behold the all-pervading God near at hand.
ਗਿਆਰ੍ਹਵੀ ਥਿੱਤ- (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖੋ,
ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਬਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

Control your sensory organs and listen to God’s Name (in lieu of fasting).
ਆਪਣੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ-ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਇਕਾਦਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਵਰਤ।
ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਅ ਦਇਆ ॥
man santokh sarab jee-a da-i-aa.
Let your mind be content, and be kind to all beings.
ਤੂੰ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰ।
ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਰਤੁ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਭਇਆ ॥
in biDh barat sampooran bha-i-aa.
In this way, your fast will be accomplished.
ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਉਪਹਾਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
ਧਾਵਤ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਇਕ ਠਾਇ ॥
Dhaavat man raakhai ik thaa-ay.
He, who restrains the wandering mind in one place,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੁਧੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥
man tan suDh japat har naa-ay.
by meditating on God’s Name, his mind and body becomes pure.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥
sabh meh poor rahay paarbarahm.
The Supreme God is pervading in all beings.
ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਅਟਲ ਏਹੁ ਧਰਮ ॥੧੧॥
naanak har keertan kar atal ayhu Dharam. ||11||
O’ Nanak, sing the praises of God, this alone is the righteous way of life ||11||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਏਹੀ ਅਮਰ ਧਰਮ ਹੈ l

ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
durmat haree sayvaa karee bhaytay saaDh kirpaal.
Evil-intellect is eliminated, by meeting and serving the compassionate saints.
ਦਿਆਲੂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੰਦੀ-ਅਕਲ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੧੨॥
naanak parabh si-o mil rahay binsay sagal janjaal. ||12||
O’ Nanak, those who remain attuned to God’s Name, all their bonds of Maya are destroyed.||12||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l

du-aadasee daan naam isnaan.
The twelfth lunar day: Meditate on God’s Name, give charity and thus keep your life immaculate.
ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵੀ ਤਿੱਥ- ਦਾਨ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਤੇ, ਜੀਵਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਰੱਖੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
har kee bhagat karahu taj maan.
Shedding ego, engage in the devotional worship of God.
ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਹੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ॥
har amrit paan karahu saaDhsang.
partake the Ambrosial Nectar of God’s Name in the holy congregation.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਮਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
man tariptaasai keertan parabh rang.
By singing God’s praises with loving devotion, one’s mind is satiated from Maya and vces.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮਨ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੋਮਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਭ ਕਉ ਸੰਤੋਖੈ ॥
komal banee sabh ka-o santokhai.
The Sweet Words of God’s praises provide spiritual bliss to everyone.
ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਪੰਚ ਭੂ ਆਤਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਪੋਖੈ ॥
panch bhoo aatmaa har naam ras pokhai.
The nectar of God’s Name provides sustenance to the soul which is the subtle essence of the human body made of five elements.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਹ, ਪੰਜਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਖਮ ਅੰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ-ਪੋਸਣਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਏਹ ਨਿਹਚਉ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
gur pooray tay ayh nihcha-o paa-ee-ai.
This gift is definately obtained from the perfect Guru,
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਰਮਤ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਆਈਐ ॥੧੨॥
naanak raam ramat fir jon na aa-ee-ai. ||12||
O’ Nanak, by meditating on God’s Name with loving devotion, the cycle of birth and death ends.||12||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਫਿਰ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੀਦਾ l

ਤੀਨਿ ਗੁਣਾ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਤ ਨ ਕਾਮ ॥
teen gunaa meh bi-aapi-aa pooran hot na kaam.
The world is engrossed in the three impulses (vice, virtue, and power). Therefore, its desires are never fulfilled.
ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਉ ਹੇਠ ਆਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ।
ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਛੂਟੈ ਨਾਮ ॥੧੩॥
patit uDhaaran man basai naanak chhootai naam. ||13||
O’ Nanak, only when God, the savior of sinner, is enshrined in the mind, then one is liberated from these three impulses by meditating on Naam. ||13||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਤ੍ਰਉਦਸੀ ਤੀਨਿ ਤਾਪ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
tar-udsee teen taap sansaar.
The thirteenth lunar day: The humanity is afflicted by three kinds of ailments arising from body, mind and nature,
ਤੇਰ੍ਹਵੀ ਤਿੱਥ-ਜਹਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਨਰਕ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
aavat jaat narak avtaar.
therefore, mortals keep suffering through the cycles of birth and death.
(ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਨ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਓ ॥
har har bhajan na man meh aa-i-o.
Because of these three afflictions, God’s praise doesn’t enter a mortal’s mind.
(ਤਿੰਨ ਤਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਦਾ,
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥
sukh saagar parabh nimakh na gaa-i-o.
Not even for a moment does a mortal sing praises of God, the ocean of peace.
ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁਖਾਂ-ਦੇ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਿਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਕਾ ਦੇਹ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਧਿਓ ॥
harakh sog kaa dayh kar baaDhi-o.
The mortal considers the human body as a bundle of pleasure and sorrow.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਦਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਵਸਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ l
ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਸਾਧਿਓ ॥
deeragh rog maa-i-aa aasaaDhi-o.
He is afflicted with the chronic and incurable disease of attachment to Maya (worldly riches).
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਲਾਜ਼ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਦਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਤ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
dineh bikaar karat saram paa-i-o.
During the day one is exhausted performing worthless deeds.
ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਨੈਨੀ ਨੀਦ ਸੁਪਨ ਬਰੜਾਇਓ ॥
nainee need supan barrhaa-i-o.
During the night with sleepy eyes, he mutters in dreams.
ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਦ੍ਰਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰੜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਏਹ ਹਾਲ ॥
har bisrat hovat ayh haal.
This is what happens to the mortal upon forsaking God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਨਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੧੩॥
saran naanak parabh purakh da-i-aal. ||13||
O’ Nanak, to avoid such suffering, seeks the refuge of the merciful God. (13)
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਇਸ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਹਾਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ

ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਚਉਦਹ ਭਵਨ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਰਾਮ ॥
chaar kunt cha-odah bhavan sagal bi-aapat raam.
God is pervading everywhere, in all the four directions and the fourteen worlds.
ਚਾਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕ-ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਊਨ ਨ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਮ ॥੧੪॥
naanak oon na daykhee-ai pooran taa kay kaam. ||14||
O Nanak, He is not seen to be lacking anything, and perfect are His deeds. ||14||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ l

ਚਉਦਹਿ ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪ ॥
cha-udeh chaar kunt parabh aap.
The fourteenth lunar day: God Himself is pervading in all four directions.
ਚੋਦ੍ਹਵੀ ਥਿੱਤ: ਚੌਂਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥
sagal bhavan pooran partaap.
In all worlds, His radiant glory is perfect.
ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ-ਪਰਤਾਪ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਸੇ ਦਿਸਾ ਰਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ॥
dasay disaa ravi-aa parabh ayk.
In all the ten directions, only one God is pervading.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਨਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖੁ ॥
Dharan akaas sabh meh parabh paykh.
O’ my friend, on land or in sky, behold God in all.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਧਰਤੀ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੇਖੋ।.
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਬਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਪਾਤਾਲ ॥
jal thal ban parbat paataal.
In the water, on the land, in the forests, on mountains, and in the nether regions of the word,
ਪਾਣੀ, ਧਰਤੀ, ਜੰਗਲ, ਪਹਾੜ, ਪਾਤਾਲ-
ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਤਹ ਬਸਹਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
parmaysvar tah baseh da-i-aal.
the Merciful Supreme God is dwelling.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਦਇਆ-ਦੇ-ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੂਖਮ ਅਸਥੂਲ ਸਗਲ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
sookham asthool sagal bhagvaan.
God is present in all tangible and intangible places.
ਅਣਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਤੇ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੧੪॥
naanak gurmukh barahm pachhaan. ||14||
O’ Nanak, through the Guru’s teaching, realize the all pervading God. ||14||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ,ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ।

ਆਤਮੁ ਜੀਤਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
aatam jeetaa gurmatee gun gaa-ay gobind.
By acting on Guru’s teachings, the one who has conquered his mind and sung the praises of God,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ,
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਭੈ ਮਿਟੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧੫॥
sant parsaadee bhai mitay naanak binsee chind. ||15||
O’ Nanak, by the Guru’s grace, all his fears are dispelled and all worry is destroyed,||15||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ

ਅਮਾਵਸ ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖੀ ਭਏ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
amaavas aatam sukhee bha-ay santokh dee-aa gurdayv.
The moonless night: The one whom the Guru has blessed with contentment, his soul has become peaceful.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਸੁੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ l
