ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
sant parsaad param pad paa-i-aa. ||2||
The supreme spiritual status is attained by the grace of the Guru. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
jan kee keenee aap sahaa-ay.
One whom God Himself helped,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ,
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਲਗਿ ਦਾਸਹ ਪਾਇ ॥
sukh paa-i-aa lag daasah paa-ay.
enjoyed the bliss by humbly serving the devotees of God.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ।
ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਤਾ ਆਪਹਿ ਭਏ ॥
aap ga-i-aa taa aapeh bha-ay.
Their self-conceit vanished and they became the embodiment of God Himself,
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ,
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਏ ॥੩॥
kirpaa niDhaan kee sarnee pa-ay. ||3||
when they sought the refuge of God, the treasure of mercy.||3||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਏ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਚਾਹਤ ਸੋਈ ਜਬ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jo chaahat so-ee jab paa-i-aa.
When one realizes Him within, whom he longs for,
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਬ ਢੂੰਢਨ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
tab dhoodhan kahaa ko jaa-i-aa.
he need not go elsewhere to look for Him.
ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਵੇ?।
ਅਸਥਿਰ ਭਏ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਸਨ ॥
asthir bha-ay basay sukh aasan.
They achieve a state of complete stability of mind and they dwell in peace,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਡੋਲ-ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਬਾਸਨ ॥੪॥੧੧੦॥
gur parsaad naanak sukh baasan. ||4||110||
O’ Nanak, by the Guru’s Grace, they live in a state of complete bliss.||4||110||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧੧੦॥

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਜਨ ਕੀਨੋ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥
kot majan keeno isnaan.
Assume one having bathed at millions of holy places and
(ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਭੀਆਂ ਲਾ ਲਈਆਂ, ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਏ,
ਲਾਖ ਅਰਬ ਖਰਬ ਦੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
laakh arab kharab deeno daan.
donated generously to charity
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਅਰਬਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਬਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਏ,
ਜਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
jaa man vasi-o har ko naam. ||1||
if he has enshrined God’s Name in his heart.||1||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਗਲ ਪਵਿਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
sagal pavit gun gaa-ay gupaal.
All who sing the praises of God become sanctified.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਨਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paap miteh saaDhoo saran da-i-aal. rahaa-o.
All sins are erased by seeking the refuge of the merciful Guru.||Pause||
ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਉਰਧ ਤਪ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
bahut uraDh tap saaDhan saaDhay.
Assume one having performed many penances by hanging upside down and
(ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਠੇ ਲਟਕ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਾਧ ਲਏ,
ਅਨਿਕ ਲਾਭ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਾਧੇ ॥
anik laabh manorath laaDhay.
obtained countless benefits of miraculous powers and fulfilled all objectives
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਰਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟ ਲਏ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਨ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥੨॥
har har naam rasan aaraaDhay. ||2||
if that person has lovingly meditated on God’s Name. ||2||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਬਖਾਨੇ ॥
simrit saasat bayd bakhaanay.
(Deem it as if) he has studied all the Simritis, Shastras and Vedas (holy books),
(ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਲਏ ਹਨ,
ਜੋਗ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਿਧ ਸੁਖ ਜਾਨੇ ॥
jog gi-aan siDh sukh jaanay.
and has gained the knowledge of yoga, spiritual wisdom and the pleasure of miraculous powers,
(ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜੋਗ (ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁੰਝਲਾਂ) ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ,
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਮਨ ਮਾਨੇ ॥੩॥
naam japat parabh si-o man maanay. ||3||
if he has developed faith in God while meditating on God’s Name. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
agaaDh boDh har agam apaaray.
The wisdom of unfathomable and infinite God is beyond comprehension.
ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਦ ਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ। !
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
naam japat naam riday beechaaray.
The one who has developed faith in God lovingly meditates on Naam and reflects on Naam in his heart,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਅਥਾਹ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧੧੧॥
naanak ka-o parabh kirpaa Dhaaray. ||4||111||
O’ Nanak, upon him God has bestows His Mercy. ||4||111||
(ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੧੧॥
ਗਉੜੀ ਮਃ ੫ ॥
ga-orhee mehlaa 5.
Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
simar simar simar sukh paa-i-aa.
Only that person has attained peace by always meditating on God’s Name,
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
charan kamal gur ridai basaa-i-aa. ||1||
who has enshrined the teachings of the Guru in his heart. ||1||
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
gur gobind paarbarahm pooraa.
God, the Master of the universe is supreme and perfect.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ (ਸਭ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tiseh araaDh mayraa man Dheeraa. rahaa-o.
By meditating on Him my mind is rendered steadfast. ||pause||
ਉਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਧ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੌਸਲੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਿਲਬਿਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ)।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਮ ॥
an-din japa-o guroo gur naam.
I always meditate on the Name of the Guru-God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ (
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਿਧਿ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਂਮ ॥੨॥
taa tay siDh bha-ay sagal kaaNm. ||2||
As a result, all my tasks are successfully accomplished. ||2||
ਉਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੀਤਲ ਮਨ ਭਏ ॥
darsan daykh seetal man bha-ay.
Upon seeing the Guru’s sight, my mind becomes calm,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਠੰਢੇ ਠਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ॥੩॥
janam janam kay kilbikh ga-ay. ||3||
and the sins of countless births are vanished. ||3||
ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ (ਪਹਿਲੇ) ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਾ ਭੈ ਭਾਈ ॥
kaho naanak kahaa bhai bhaa-ee.
Nanak says, O’ my brother, why should there be fear of any kind,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹੁਣ ਡਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੇ,?
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਆਪਿ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੧੨॥
apnay sayvak kee aap paij rakhaa-ee. ||4||112||
when the Guru has himself arranged to protect the honor of His humble devotees? ||4||112||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੧੨॥
ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ga-orhee mehlaa 5.
Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
apnay sayvak ka-o aap sahaa-ee.
God Himself provides help to His humble devotees,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਸਦਾ) ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ ਬਾਪ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
nit partipaarai baap jaisay maa-ee. ||1||
just as father and mother provide for their children. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਉ (ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਉਬਰੈ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ ॥
parabh kee saran ubrai sabh ko-ay.
All who seek God’s refuge are saved from the vices.
ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਡਰਾਂ-ਸਹਿਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karan karaavan pooran sach so-ay. rahaa-o.
All-pervading God is the doer and cause of everything.||pause||
ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਅਬ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰਾ ॥
ab man basi-aa karnaihaaraa.
Now in my mind dwells the Creator God.
ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
bhai binsay aatam sukh saaraa. ||2||
My fears have been dispelled and I am enjoying the sublime peace.||2||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ-ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
kar kirpaa apnay jan raakhay.
Showing His mercy, God always saves His humble devotees,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੩॥
janam janam kay kilbikh laathay. ||3||
and the sins of their so many births go away. ||3||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਹਿਲੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਕੀਤੇ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
kahan na jaa-ay parabh kee vadi-aa-ee.
The greatness of God cannot be described.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕੇਡੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੧੩॥
naanak daas sadaa sarnaa-ee. ||4||113||
O’ Nanak, God’s humble devotees always remain in His refuge. ||4||113||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧੧੩॥
ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਪਦੇ ॥

ਰਾਗ ਗਉੜੀ-ਚੇਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦੋ-ਪਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਬਲੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਈ ॥
raam ko bal pooran bhaa-ee.
O’ brother, God’s power pervades everywhere.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ (ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ)।
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਕਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taa tay baritha na bi-aapai kaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Therefore, no trouble ever befalls His devotee. ||pause||
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਈ ॥
jo jo chitvai daas har maa-ee.
O’ my mother, whatever the devotee of God wishes,
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੀ) ਮਾਂ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਮੰਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿਤਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਸੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੧॥
so so kartaa aap karaa-ee. ||1||
the Creator Himself causes it to be done. ||1||
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਮੰਗ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
nindak kee parabh pat gavaa-ee.
God causes the slanderers to lose their honor.
(ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਦੋਖੀ-ਨਿੰਦਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕ-ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਗਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੧੪॥
naanak har gun nirbha-o gaa-ee. ||2||114||
O’ Nanak, fearlessly sing the praises of God. ||2||114||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂ ॥੨॥੧੧੪॥
