ਮਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ma-i-aa karee pooran har raa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
on whom the all pervading Sovereign God shows His mercy. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ॥
kaho naanak jaa kay pooray bhaag.
Nanak says, ”He whose destiny is perfect,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ (ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ) ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੨॥੧੦੬॥
har har naam asthir sohaag. ||2||106||
meditates on God’s Name and his union with God becomes eternal”. ||2||106||
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖਸਮ (ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥੧੦੬॥

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਧੋਤੀ ਖੋਲਿ ਵਿਛਾਏ ਹੇਠਿ ॥
Dhotee khol vichhaa-ay hayth.
The Hindu priest spreads part of his loin-cloth and sits on it;
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਪਰਲਾ ਅੱਧਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਧਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗਰਧਪ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਲਾਹੇ ਪੇਟਿ ॥੧॥
garDhap vaaNgoo laahay payt. ||1||
like a donkey he gulps down into his belly all that comes his way. ||1||
ਤੇ ਖੋਤੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਦਬਾਦਬ ਖੀਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਕਰਤੂਤੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
bin kartootee mukat na paa-ee-ai.
Liberation from the cycles of birth and death is not obtained without good deeds.
ਚੰਗੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mukat padaarath naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The state of salvation is attained, only by meditation on Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੋਖ-ਪਦਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੂਜਾ ਤਿਲਕ ਕਰਤ ਇਸਨਾਨਾਂ ॥
poojaa tilak karat isnaanaaN.
Hindu priest takes his ritual cleansing bath, applies ‘tilak’ (ceremonial mark) on his forehead and performs worship ceremonies,
(ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ) ਇਸਨਾਨ ਕਰਕੇ, ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਛੁਰੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਵੈ ਹਥਿ ਦਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
chhuree kaadh layvai hath daanaa. ||2||
but then he intimidates people into giving him alms under threats of hell and suffering. ||2||
ਤੇ ਛੁਰੀ ਕਢ ਕੇ, ਹਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਬੇਦੁ ਪੜੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
bayd parhai mukh meethee banee.
He reads and recites Vedas (the Hindu holy books) in a very sweet tone,
(ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਸੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਦ (-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ) ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੀਆਂ ਕੁਹਤ ਨ ਸੰਗੈ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
jee-aaN kuhat na sangai paraanee. ||3||
and yet he never hesitates in virtually killing others by extracting money. ||3||
ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਜਮਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਝਿਜਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
kaho naanak jis kirpaa Dhaarai.
Nanak says, by His grace,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੧੦੭॥
hirdaa suDh barahm beechaarai. ||4||107||
one’s heart becomes pure and he contemplates God. ||4||107||
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੪॥੧੦੭॥

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਥਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਸਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
thir ghar baishu har jan pi-aaray.
O’ beloved devotees of God, have firm faith in your heart,
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨੋ! ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਬਣਾਓ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satgur tumray kaaj savaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that the true Guru accomplishes all your tasks. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਵਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੁਸਟ ਦੂਤ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
dusat doot parmaysar maaray.
The transcendent God has struck down the wicked enemies,
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ, ਦੋਖੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਸਭ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੀ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
jan kee paij rakhee kartaaray. ||1||
and the Creator has preserved the honor of His humble devotees. ||1||
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਹ ਸਭ ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
baadisaah saah sabh vas kar deenay.
God has brought all the kings and emperors under the command of His devotees,
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
amrit naam mahaa ras peenay. ||2||
and they partake the most sublime ambrosial nectar of Naam. ||2||
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਭਜਹੁ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
nirbha-o ho-ay bhajahu bhagvaan.
Meditate fearlessly on God’s Name,
ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
saaDhsangat mil keeno daan. ||3||
which you have been blessed with in the congregation of saintly persons. ||3||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉਤੇ) ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
saran paray parabh antarjaamee.
O’ the knower of hearts, I have sought Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੮॥
naanak ot pakree parabh su-aamee. ||4||108||
O’ Nanak, say, “I have grasped onto the support of the Master-God”. ||4||108||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) ॥੪॥੧੦੮॥

ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭਾਹਿ ਨ ਜਲੈ ॥
har sang raatay bhaahi na jalai.
He who is imbued with God’s love, does not anguish in the cravings for desires.
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੜਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀ ਛਲੈ ॥
har sang raatay maa-i-aa nahee chhalai.
He who is imbued with God’s love, is not deceived by Maya.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਇਆ ਠੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ,
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਡੂਬੈ ਜਲਾ ॥
har sang raatay nahee doobai jalaa.
He who is imbued with God’s love, does not drown in the world-ocean of vices.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲਾ ॥੧॥
har sang raatay sufal falaa. ||1||
He who is imbued with God’s love, achieves the objective of human life. ||1||
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਭ ਭੈ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
sabh bhai miteh tumaarai naa-ay.
O’ God, all fears are eradicated by meditating on Your Name.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਭੇਟਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaytat sang har har gun gaa-ay. rahaa-o.
In the holy congregation one sings the praises of God. ||Pause||
ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥
har sang raatay mitai sabh chintaa.
Being imbued with God, one’s worries depart.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸੋ ਰਚੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਮੰਤਾ ॥
har si-o so rachai jis saaDh kaa manntaa.
One who is blessed with the teachings of the Guru; gets attuned to God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਨਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
har sang raatay jam kee nahee taraas.
Being imbued with God, there is no fear of death.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ,
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ॥੨॥
har sang raatay pooran aas. ||2||
Being imbued with God, one’s hopes are fulfilled. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
har sang raatay dookh na laagai.
Being imbued with God, no malady afflicts.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
har sang raataa an-din jaagai.
Being imbued with God, one always remains aware of the onslaught of vices.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ॥
har sang raataa sahj ghar vasai.
The one who is imbued with God’s love, lives in intuitive peace and poise.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਨਸੈ ॥੩॥
har sang raatay bharam bha-o nasai. ||3||
Being imbued with God’s love, one’s fears and doubts go away. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਹਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਇ ॥
har sang raatay mat ootam ho-ay.
He who is imbued with God’s love, gets blessed with exalted intellect.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਸੁਅੱਛ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥
har sang raatay nirmal so-ay.
One who is attuned to God, has a pure and spotless reputation.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਬੇ-ਦਾਗ਼ ਸੋਭਾ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਖਿਲਰਦੀ ਹੈ)।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
kaho naanak tin ka-o bal jaa-ee.
Nanak says, “I dedicate myself to those,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੯॥
jin ka-o parabh mayraa bisrat naahee. ||4||109||
who do not forget my God”. ||4||109||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਦੇ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੪॥੧੦੯॥

ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰਤ ਸੀਤਲ ਮਨ ਭਏ ॥
udam karat seetal man bha-ay.
The mind became calm by joining the holy congregation.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ) ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸ਼ਾਂਤ-ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਤ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਖ ਗਏ ॥
maarag chalat sagal dukh ga-ay.
By walking on the righteous path, all sufferings end.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ)।
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
naam japat man bha-ay anand.
By lovingly meditating on Naam, mind becomes blissful.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਰਸਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥੧॥
ras gaa-ay gun parmaanand. ||1||
By singing the praises of the Master of supreme bliss with love, mind becomes blissful. ||1||
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਵਿਆਂ,ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਖੇਮ ਭਇਆ ਕੁਸਲ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
khaym bha-i-aa kusal ghar aa-ay.
True state of happiness, peace and well-being has prevailed all around,
ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਪਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
ਭੇਟਤ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਈ ਬਲਾਏ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaytat saaDhsang ga-ee balaa-ay. rahaa-o.
and misfortunes have vanished by joining the holy congregation.||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ-) ਚੁੜੇਲ (ਦੀ ਚੰਬੜ) ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਦਰਸ ॥
naytar puneet paykhat hee daras.
On realization of God, the mind (inner eyes) become immaculate.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ
ਧਨਿ ਮਸਤਕ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹੀ ਪਰਸ ॥
Dhan mastak charan kamal hee paras.
Blessed is the forehead which bows in reverence to God.
ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮੱਥੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਛੋਹ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਸਫਲ ਇਹ ਕਾਂਇਆ ॥
gobind kee tahal safal ih kaaN-i-aa.
The body becomes worthwhile by performing the devotional worship of God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
