ਅਜਾਮਲ ਕਉ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਸੁਧਿ ਆਈ ॥
ajaamal ka-o ant kaal meh naaraa-in suDh aa-ee.
At the last moment of his life, when Ajaamal (a renowned sinner) realized true understanding about God,
ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲੇ ਵੇਲੇ (ਪਾਪੀ) ਅਜਾਮਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਆ ਗਈ,
ਜਾਂ ਗਤਿ ਕਉ ਜੋਗੀਸੁਰ ਬਾਛਤ ਸੋ ਗਤਿ ਛਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
jaaN gat ka-o jogeesur baachhat so gat chhin meh paa-ee. ||2||
the supreme spiritual status, which even the great yogis yearn for, he attained in an instant. ||2||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਤਾਂਘਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਹਿਨ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਉਨੁ ਗਜਿ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
naahin gun naahin kachh bidi-aa Dharam ka-un gaj keenaa.
Gaj, (a sage cursed elephant), had neither any virtues nor any education, what religious deeds had he performed?
ਗਜ ਵਿਚ)ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਸੀ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਧਾਰਮਕ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ?
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਰਾਮ ਕਾ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਤਿਹ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੩॥੧॥
naanak birad raam kaa daykhhu abhai daan tih deenaa. ||3||1||
O Nanak, look at the primal nature of God, He blessed Gaj with the gift of fearlessness. ||3||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰ ਵੇਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਗਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੩॥੧॥

Raag Raamkalee, Ninth Guru:
ਸਾਧੋ ਕਉਨ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਅਬ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
saaDho ka-un jugat ab keejai.
O’ saintly people, now (in this human life) what method may I adopt?
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੁਣ (ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਵਿਓਂਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਏ,?
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੈ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa tay durmat sagal binaasai raam bhagat man bheejai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
by which all evil-intellect gets destroyed, and the mind becomes imbued with the devotional worship of God. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਮੱਤ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਚ-ਮਿਚ ਜਾਏ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਨਹ ਕਛੁ ਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
man maa-i-aa meh urajh rahi-o hai boojhai nah kachh gi-aanaa.
The human mind remains entangled in the love for Maya and knows nothing about spiritual wisdom.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਲਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ,
ਕਉਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਪਾਵੈ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
ka-un naam jag jaa kai simrai paavai pad nirbaanaa. ||1||
What is that immaculate Name by remembering which, the world might attain Nirvana, the supreme spiritual status. ||1||
ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਗਤ ਵਾਸਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਤਬ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਬਤਾਈ ॥
bha-ay da-i-aal kirpaal sant jan tab ih baat bataa-ee.
When the saintly people became kind and gracious, they told this thing,
ਜਦੋਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹੋਏ , ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਦੱਸੀ ਕਿ
ਸਰਬ ਧਰਮ ਮਾਨੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੀਏ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥
sarab Dharam maano tih kee-ay jih parabh keerat gaa-ee. ||2||
that a person who has sung praises of God, deem that he has performed all the righteous deeds, ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਉਂ ਮਿਥ ਲਵੋ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਲਏ ॥੨॥
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰੁ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਮਹਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਏਕ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
raam naam nar nis baasur meh nimakh ayk ur Dhaarai.
One who enshrines God’s Name in his heart even for an instant any time during the night or day,
(ਜਿਹੜਾ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਫੋਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਮ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਾਸੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥੩॥੨॥
jam ko taraas mitai naanak tih apuno janam savaarai. ||3||2||
O’ Nanak, that person’s fear of death vanishes, he embellishes his life. ||3||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ) ਜਨਮ ਸਫਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੨॥

ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਸੁਧਿ ਲੇਹਿ ॥

O’ mortal, focus your consciousness on God,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰ।
ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ਅਉਧ ਘਟੈ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਜਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chhin chhin a-oDh ghatai nis baasur baritha jaat hai dayh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Day or night, little by little, your life is diminishing and your human life is passing away in vain. ||1||Pause||
ਦਿਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਘਟਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਰਨਾਪੋ ਬਿਖਿਅਨ ਸਿਉ ਖੋਇਓ ਬਾਲਪਨੁ ਅਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
tornado bikhi-an si-o kho-i-o baalpan agi-aanaa.
You have wasted your youth in poisonous worldly pursuits and childhood in ignorance.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ (ਦੀ ਉਮਰ) ਵਿਸ਼ੇ-ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗਵਾ ਲਈ, ਬਾਲ-ਉਮਰ ਅੰਞਾਣ-ਪੁਣੇ ਵਿਚ (ਗਵਾ ਲਈ।
ਬਿਰਧਿ ਭਇਓ ਅਜਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਸਮਝੈ ਕਉਨ ਕੁਮਤਿ ਉਰਝਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
biraDh bha-i-o ajhoo nahee samjhai ka-un kumat urjhaanaa. ||1||
You have grown old, and even now, you do not understand, in what evil intellect are you entangled?. ||1||
ਹੁਣ) ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਜੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਖੋਟੀ ਮੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ?॥੧॥
ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਜਿਹ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਸੋ ਤੈ ਕਿਉ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਓ ॥
maanas janam dee-o jih thaakur so tai ki-o bisraa-i-o.
Why have you forgotten the Master-God, who blessed you with this human life?
ਜਿਸ ਠਾਕੁਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ?
ਮੁਕਤੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਰ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
mukat hot nar jaa kai simrai nimakh na taa ka-o gaa-i-o. ||2||
O’ mortal, remembering whom with adoration one is liberated from the bonds of Maya, why have you not sung praises of that God even for a moment, ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਰ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਫੋਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ (ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੋ ਮਦੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਤੁ ਹੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥
maa-i-aa ko mad kahaa karat hai sang na kaahoo jaa-ee.
O’ mortal, why are you taking pride in Maya, the worldly wealth, which does not accompany anyone (after death).
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਕਿਉਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ (ਇਤਨਾ) ਮਾਣ ਤੂੰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? (ਇਹ ਤਾਂ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੀ (ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਤੁ ਚੇਤਿ ਚਿੰਤਾਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੩॥੩॥੮੧॥
naanak kahat chayt chintaaman ho-ay hai ant sahaa-ee. ||3||3||81||
Nanak says, remember God, the wish fulfilling jewel, who would be your helper in the end. ||3||3||81||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ। ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੩॥੩॥੮੧॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.*
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਈ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੜਹਿ ਸੇ ਤਾਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਦਿਨੀਅਰੁ ਤਪਤ ਰਹੈ ॥
so-ee chand charheh say taaray so-ee dinee-ar tapat rahai.
The same moon and the same stars have been rising, the same sun has been providing the heat (throughout the ages),
(ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਾ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਤਾਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਸੂਰਜ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੋ ਪਉਣੁ ਝੁਲਾਰੇ ਜੁਗ ਜੀਅ ਖੇਲੇ ਥਾਵ ਕੈਸੇ ॥੧॥
saa Dhartee so pa-un jhulaaray jug jee-a khaylay thaav kaisay. ||1||
the earth is the same, and the same wind blows; it is the yug (period of time) which affects the behavior of the living beings and not the places. ||1||
ਉਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਹਵਾ ਝੁਲਦੀ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਖੇਡਾਂ) ਖੇਡਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੇਡ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਜੀਵਨ ਤਲਬ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥
jeevan talab nivaar.
O’ Pundit, renounce selfishness from your life.
ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਖ਼ੁਦ-ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ।
ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਵਾਣਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਧਿਙਾਣਾ ਕਲਿ ਲਖਣ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hovai parvaanaa karahi Dhinyaanaa kal lakhan veechaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Swayed by selfishness people oppress the powerless and to them this oppression is acceptable; deem this oppression as the sign of KalYug. ||1||Pause||
ਇਸ ਖ਼ੁਦ-ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਜਰਵਾਣੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਧੱਕਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹ ਧੱਕਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਖ਼ੁਦ-ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਧੱਕਾ-ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਦੇ ਲੱਛਣ ਸਮਝ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਿਤੈ ਦੇਸਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਤੀਰਥ ਪਾਸਿ ਨ ਬੈਠਾ ॥
kitai days na aa-i-aa sunee-ai tirath paas na baithaa.
Kali Yuga has not been heard to have come to any country, or to be sitting at any sacred shrine.
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਤੀਰਥ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਹਲ ਉਸਾਰਿ ਨ ਬੈਠਾ ॥੨॥
daataa daan karay tah naahee mahal usaar na baithaa. ||2||
It is neither seen where a generous person gives to charities, nor seen seated in the mansion he has built. ||2||
ਜਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਨੀ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਭੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਕਿਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਲ ਉਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੈਠ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੨॥
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਸਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਛੀਜੈ ਤਪ ਘਰਿ ਤਪੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
jay ko sat karay so chheejai tap ghar tap na ho-ee.
If one tries to live an honest and righteous life, he is looked down by others; he who claims to practice penance, has no control over his sensory organs.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਚਰਨ ਉੱਚਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਸਗੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਤਪੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਹਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੁੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ,
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ਲਏ ਬਦਨਾਵੀ ਕਲਿ ਕੇ ਲਖਣ ਏਈ ॥੩॥
jay ko naa-o la-ay badnaavee kal kay lakhan ay-ee. ||3||
If one remembers God’s Name, he is defamed; these are signs of KalYug. ||3||
ਜੇ ਜੋਈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹਨ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਦੇ ਲੱਛਣ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਕਦਾਰੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਖੁਆਰੀ ਚਾਕਰ ਕੇਹੇ ਡਰਣਾ ॥
jis sikdaaree tiseh khu-aaree chaakar kayhay darnaa.
Whoever is in charge, is humiliated. Why should the servant be afraid,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਸਰਦਾਰੀ ਹੈ, ਖੱਚਲ ਖੁਆਰੀ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਉਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਹਦਾ ਡਰ ਹੈ?
ਜਾ ਸਿਕਦਾਰੈ ਪਵੈ ਜੰਜੀਰੀ ਤਾ ਚਾਕਰ ਹਥਹੁ ਮਰਣਾ ॥੪॥
jaa sikdaarai pavai janjeeree taa chaakar hathahu marnaa. ||4||
When the officer is bound in chains, he dies at the hands of subordinates. ||4||
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਾਹਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
