ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਅੰਧ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਸੋਇ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਦ ਮਾਵਤ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
darisat na aavahi anDh agi-aanee so-ay rahi-o mad maavat hay. ||3||
They are not visible to you because you are blinded by ignorance; intoxicated in vices, you are spiritually asleep. ||3||
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ ॥੩॥
ਜਾਲੁ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਚੋਗ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੀ ਪੰਖੀ ਜਿਉ ਫਾਹਾਵਤ ਹੇ ॥
jaal pasaar chog bisthaaree pankhee ji-o faahaavat hay.
Just as a net is spread and some bait is scattered on it to catch a bird, similarly you are being trapped in the net of allurements of worldly riches and power.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਲ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਚੋਗ ਖਿਲਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੋਗ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਨ ਕਉ ਮੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਿਆਵਤ ਹੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੮੮॥
kaho naanak banDhan kaatan ka-o mai satgur purakh Dhi-aavat hay. ||4||2||88||
Nanak says, to cut off my worldly bonds of Maya, I remember the divine-Guru with adorarion. ||4||2||88||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨॥੮੮॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਮੋਲੀ ॥
har har naam apaar amolee.
O’ my friends, the Name of the infinite God is invaluable.
(ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ!) ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਵੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਵੱਟੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਮਨਹਿ ਅਧਾਰੋ ਚੀਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਪਾਨ ਤੰਬੋਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
paraan pi-aaro maneh aDhaaro cheet chitva-o jaisay paan tambolee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God is the love of my life, and support of my mind; I keep remembering Him in my mind just as a betel seller takes care of her betel leaves.||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਨ ਵੇਚਣ ਵਾਲੀ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਪਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਚਿਤਾਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਬਤਾਇਓ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਚੋਲੀ ॥
sahj samaa-i-o gureh bataa-i-o rang rangee mayray tan kee cholee.
I got merged in spiritual peace by following the Guru’s teachings; now I am so much imbued with God’s love, I feel as if my dress is dyed in His color of love.
ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਦ ਦੱਸਇਆ, ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰੀਰ-ਚੋਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੋ ਜਉ ਵਡਭਾਗੋ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਡੋਲੀ ॥੧॥
pari-a mukh laago ja-o vadbhaago suhaag hamaaro katahu na dolee. ||1||
When by great good fortune, I saw the sight of my Husband-God and now my union with Him would never waver. ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਸੁਹਾਗ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਰੂਪ ਨ ਧੂਪ ਨ ਗੰਧ ਨ ਦੀਪਾ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਉਲੀ ॥
roop na Dhoop na ganDh na deepaa ot pot ang ang sang ma-ulee.
Now I need no image, no incense, no perfume or lamps for the devotional worship; I am completely merged with Him and I am totally delighted.
ਹੁਣ ਪੂਜਾ ਲਈ ਰੂਪ ਧੂਪ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ ਖਿੜ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰਵੀ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਨੀ ਖਟੋਲੀ ॥੨॥੩॥੮੯॥
kaho naanak pari-a ravee suhaagan at neekee mayree banee khatolee. ||2||3||89||
Nanak says, the beloved God has united me, the fortunate soul-bride, with Him; now my heart has become extremely beauteous. ||2||3||89||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਹਾਗਣ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਸੇਜ ਹੁਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੮੯॥

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਈ ॥
gobind gobind gobind ma-ee.
By always remembering God with adoration one becomes like Him.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਭਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab tay bhaytay saaDh da-i-aaraa tab tay durmat door bha-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
From the time one has met the merciful Guru and has followed his teachings, since that time his evil intellect has vanished. ||1||Pause||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਖੋਟੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਈ ॥
pooran poor rahi-o sampooran seetal saaNt da-i-aal da-ee.
When one realizes that the merciful God who is calm, cool and perfect with all the virtues is fully pervading everywhere,
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੰਜ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲ ਖਈ ॥੧॥
kaam kroDh tarisnaa ahaNkaaraa tan tay ho-ay sagal kha-ee. ||1||
then lust, anger, fire-like desire, and ego is dispelled from his body. ||1||
ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਸੁਚਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਲਈ ॥
sat santokh da-i-aa Dharam such santan tay ih mant la-ee.
One receives the teachings about truth, contentment, compassion, faith and righteous living from the Guru.
ਸੱਚ, ਸੰਤੋਖ, ਦਇਆ, ਧਰਮ, ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਨਹੁ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਗਲੀ ਸੋਝ ਪਈ ॥੨॥੪॥੯੦॥
kaho naanak jin manhu pachhaani-aa tin ka-o saglee sojh pa-ee. ||2||4||90||
Nanak says, one who has followed the Guru’s teachings with his mind, has attained total understanding about higher spiritual status. ||2||4||90||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਗਈ ॥੨॥੪॥੯੦॥

ਕਿਆ ਹਮ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਬੇਚਾਰੇ ਬਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਹ ਏਕ ਰੋਮਾਈ ॥
ki-aa ham jee-a jant baychaaray baran na saakah ayk romaa-ee.
O’ God! we, the helpless beings, cannot describe even a bit of Your virtues.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਅਸਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਬਤ ਇਕ ਰੋਮ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਭੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਹਿ ਸਕੀਏ।
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਹੇਸ ਸਿਧ ਮੁਨਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
barahm mahays siDh mun indraa bay-ant thaakur tayree gat nahee paa-ee. ||1||
O’ my infinite Master-God! even Brahma, Shiva, the Siddhas and the silent sages do not know Your State. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ, ਸ਼ਿਵਜੀ, ਸਾਧਨਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਖਾਮੋਸ਼, ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਆ ਕਥੀਐ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
ki-aa kathee-ai kichh kathan na jaa-ee.
O’ God, what should we say about You, because nothing can be said about You,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ! ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਬਤ ਕੀਹ ਦੱਸੀਏ? ਕੁਝ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jah jah daykhaa tah rahi-aa samaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
wherever I look, I see You pervading there. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਧਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਹ ਮਹਾ ਭਇਆਨ ਦੂਖ ਜਮ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਤਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂਹੈ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
jah mahaa bha-i-aan dookh jam sunee-ai tah mayray parabh toohai sahaa-ee.
O’ my God! where the most terrible tortures are heard to be inflicted by the demon of death, You are my only help and support there.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਹੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ l
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੯੧॥
Saran Pariou Har Charan Gehae Prabh Gur Naanak Ko Boojh Bujhaaee ||2||5||91||
’ God! the Guru has blessed Nanak with this understanding; therefore, he has come to Your refuge and has attuned to Your immaculate Name. ||2||5||91||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਏ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੫॥੯੧॥

ਅਗਮ ਰੂਪ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਰਤਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਿਤ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਜਪਾਈਐ ॥
agam roop abhinaasee kartaa patit pavit ik nimakh japaa-ee-ai.
O’ my friends, we should remember the incomprehensible, beautiful, the purifier of sinners and eternal Creator-God at every moment.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਚਰਜੁ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਭੇਟੁਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ਚਰਨ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
achraj suni-o paraapat bhaytulay sant charan charan man laa-ee-ai. ||1||
It is heard that God is amazing, but can be realized by meeting and following the Guru’s teachings; therefore, we should attune our mind to it. ||1||
ਇਹ ਸੁਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਚਰਜ ਹੈ ਅਚਰਜ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ। ਸੋ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧੀਐ ਕਿਤੁ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
kit biDhee-ai kit sanjam paa-ee-ai.
In what way and by what discipline of life can God be realized?
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਕਿਸ ਵਿਧੀ ਨਾਲ, ਕਿਸ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਕਹੁ ਸੁਰਜਨ ਕਿਤੁ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kaho surjan kit jugtee Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ holy person, tell me in what way I should remember God? ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਲੇ ਪੁਰਖ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੋ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਓਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਲਈ ਲਈ ਫੁਨਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
jo maanukh maanukh kee sayvaa oh tis kee la-ee la-ee fun jaa-ee-ai.
If a human being serves another human being, he remembers it forever; then O’ God, how can Your devotional service be fruitless?
ਜੇ ਇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੂਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ, ਤਾ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਟੇਕ ਤੇਰੋ ਇਕ ਨਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੬॥੯੨॥

O’ Nanak! say, O’ God, You are like an ocean of peace, I seek Your refuge; I depend only on one support, which is Your Name. ||2||6||92||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੬॥੯੨॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ਕਰੀ ॥
sant saran sant tahal karee.
O’ my friends, when I came to the Guru’s refuge and followed his teachings,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ,
ਧੰਧੁ ਬੰਧੁ ਅਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਰੋ ਅਵਰ ਕਾਜ ਤੇ ਛੂਟਿ ਪਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
DhanDh banDh ar sagal janjaaro avar kaaj tay chhoot paree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
all my worldly bonds and entanglements vanished and my mind was released from all other unnecessary affairs. ||1||Pause||
(ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਧੰਧਾ, ਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੰਜਾਲ (ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ), ਮੇਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਟੰਕ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਰੁ ਘਨੋ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥
sookh sahj ar ghano anandaa gur tay paa-i-o naam haree.
I received God’s Name from the Guru and as a result, peace, poise and supreme bliss welled up within me.
ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਅਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ)।
