ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾਲ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
mayray laal jee-o tayraa ant na jaanaa.
O’ my beloved God, I can’t know the limits of Your virtues.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ।
ਤੂੰ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਲੀਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tooN jal thal mahee-al bharipur leenaa tooN aapay sarab samaanaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You pervade the water, the land and the sky; through and through, You are pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause|
ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਨੁ ਤਾਰਾਜੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਤੁਲਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵ ਸਰਾਫੁ ਕਮਾਵਾ ॥
man taaraajee chit tulaa tayree sayv saraaf kamaavaa.
O’ God, if my mind becomes the scale, my consciousness the measuring weight and lovingly remembering You becomes an assessor,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ, ਜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੱਟਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ, ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ (ਜੇ ਇਹ ਸੇਵਾ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਰਾਫ਼ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ,
ਘਟ ਹੀ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਤੋਲੀ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਰਹਾਵਾ ॥੨॥
ghat hee bheetar so saho tolee in biDh chit rahaavaa. ||2||
through these ways, I may be able to attune my mind to You and contemplate Your virtues in my heart. ||2||
(ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਤ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ, ਪਰ) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਠਾ ਜਾਚ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ ॥੨॥
ਆਪੇ ਕੰਡਾ ਤੋਲੁ ਤਰਾਜੀ ਆਪੇ ਤੋਲਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
aapay kandaa tol taraajee aapay tolanhaaraa.
God Himself is the scale, Himself the weight, the pointer and He Himself is the weigher of His virtues.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਹੈ, ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦਾ ਵੱਟਾ ਹੈ, ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੀ ਬੋਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਤੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਬੂਝੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
aapay daykhai aapay boojhai aapay hai vanjaaraa. ||3||
He Himself cherishes the beings and He Himself is omniscient; He Himself is the trader of Naam. ||3|
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਨਾਮ) ਵਣਜ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਧੁਲਾ ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਖਿਨੁ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਲੁ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
anDhulaa neech jaat pardaysee khin aavai til jaavai.
The spiritually ignorant mind has become of low status because of vices; like a stranger, it does not stay still but keeps wandering.
ਜੋ (ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਜਨਮਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਾਲ) ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰਤਾ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਭੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਟਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਰਹਦਾ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੂੜਾ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੯॥
taa kee sangat naanak rahdaa ki-o kar moorhaa paavai. ||4||2||9||
Nanak always dwells in the company of such a mercurial mind; how could then the ignorant one realize Godattain God ||4||2||9|
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਅੰਞਾਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੯॥

ਰਾਗ ਸੂਹੀ, ਘਰ ੧ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ॥
man raam naam aaraaDhi-aa gur sabad guroo gur kay. ||1||
One who has lovingly remembered God’s Name by following the Guru’s word,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ
ਸਭਿ ਇਛਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਚੂਕਾ ਡਰੁ ਜਮ ਕੇ ॥੧॥
sabh ichhaa man tan pooree-aa sabh chookaa dar jam kay.
all the desires of his mind and heart get fulfilled and all the fear of the demon of death vanishes. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ (ਉਪਜੀਆਂ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਮ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਡਰ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ॥
mayray man gun gaavhu raam naam har kay.
O’ my mind, sing the praises of God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਮਨੁ ਪਰਬੋਧਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਆ ਰਸੁ ਗਟਕੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur tuthai man parboDhi-aa har pee-aa ras gatkay. ||1|| rahaa-o.|
When the Guru becomes gracious to someone, his mind becomes spiritually awakened and he eagerly drinks the elixir of God’s Name. ||1||Pause ||
ਜੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇਰੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ॥
satsangat ootam satgur kayree gun gaavai har parabh kay.
The Congregation of the True Guru is sublime and exalted. In such a congregation, one sings the Glorious Praises of God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਬੜਾ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਮ ਧੋਵਹ ਪਗ ਜਨ ਕੇ ॥੨॥
har kirpaa Dhaar maylhu satsangat ham Dhovah pag jan kay. ||2||
O’ God, bestow mercy and unite me with a saintly congregation so I may have a chance to humbly serve the devotees and sing your praises. ||2||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਾ (ਉਥੇ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੨॥
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਰਸੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਕੇ ॥
raam naam sabh hai raam naamaa ras gurmat ras raskay.
O’ brother, God’s Name provides every kind of celestial peace, but one can enjoy the elixir of God’s Name, only by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਭ ਲਾਥੀ ਤਿਸ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ॥੩॥
har amrit har jal paa-i-aa sabh laathee tis tis kay. ||3||
One who received the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name, all his thirst for worldly riches got quenched. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਲਹਿ ਗਈ ॥੩॥
ਹਮਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਾਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹਮ ਵੇਚਿਓ ਸਿਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ॥
hamree jaat paat gur satgur ham vaychi-o sir gur kay.
The Guru, the True Guru is my social status and my honor; I have completely surrendered myself to the Guru.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਚੇਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਜਨ ਕੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak naam pari-o gur chaylaa gur raakho laaj jan kay. ||4||1||
Devotee Nanak, who is now known as a disciple of the Guru, says, O’ Guru, save the honor of Your devotee and grant the gift of Naam.||4||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ‘ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਸਿੱਖ’ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲੈ (ਤੇ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਰੱਖ) ॥੪॥੧॥

Raag Soohee, Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਜਿਓ ਪੁਰਖੋਤਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਦਾਲਦ ਦਲਘਾ ॥3
har har naam bhaji-o purkhotam sabh binsay daalad dalghaa.
Whoever has lovingly meditated on the supreme God’s Name, multitudes of his problems have disappeared.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹਰੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਰਿੱਦ੍ਰ, ਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਭਉ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਮੇਟਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਮਘਾ ॥੧॥
bha-o janam marnaa mayti-o gur sabdee har asthir sayv sukh samghaa. ||1||
He eradicated his fear of birth and death through the Guru’s word; he became immersed in celestial peace by lovingly remembering the eternal God. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਰਘਾ ॥
mayray man bhaj raam naam at pirghaa.
O’ my mind, always meditate on the most loving Name of God with adoration.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਅੱਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਵੇਚਿ ਲੀਓ ਮੁਲਿ ਮਹਘਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mai man tan arap Dhari-o gur aagai sir vaych lee-o mul mahghaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I have dedicated my mind and body and placed them before the Guru; l have surrendered my ego completely to him and in return, received the invaluable Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਇਵਜ਼ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਰਪਤਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਕੜਿ ਖੜੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਲਘਾ ॥
narpat raajay rang ras maaneh bin naavai pakarh kharhay sabh kalghaa.
The kings and emperors of the world remain engrossed in the worldly pleasures without meditating on Naam and face spiritual deterioration.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਸਿਰਿ ਡੰਡੁ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੇ ਹਥ ਫਲਘਾ ॥੨॥
Dharam raa-ay sir dand lagaanaa fir pachhutaanay hath falghaa. ||2||
They regret when they receive punishment from the righteous judge as the fruit of their deeds. ||2||
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਪਛਤਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਜਨ ਕਿਰਮ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਲਘਾ ॥
har raakh raakh jan kiram tumaaray sarnaagat purakh partipalaghaa.
O’ the all pervading and the cherisherer God! we, your helpless beings, have come to Your refuge; please save your devotees from vices.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ) ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸੰਤ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲੋਚ ਪੂਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਤੁਮਘਾ ॥੩॥
darsan sant dayh sukh paavai parabh loch poor jan tumghaa. ||3||
O’ God! fulfill the wish of Your devotee, grant him the blessed vision of the Guru so that he can receive spiritual peace. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ, ਇਸ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦਾਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ॥੩॥
ਤੁਮ ਸਮਰਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਘਾ ॥q
tum samrath purakh vaday parabh su-aamee mo ka-o keejai daan har nimghaa.
O’ the greatest Master-God! You are all powerful and all pervading; please bless me the gift of Your Name, even if it is for an instant.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਹਮ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਘੁਮਘਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
jan naanak naam milai sukh paavai ham naam vitahu sad ghumghaa. ||4||2||
O’ Nanak! one who is blessed with God’s Name enjoys celestial peace; I am dedicated to God’s Name forever. ||4||2||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੨॥

Raag Soohee, Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਙੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਙੁ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰੰਙੁ ॥
har naamaa har rang hai har rang majeethai rang.
Remembrance and recitation of Naam generates love for God and this love is of permanent nature.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਲ-ਪਿਆਰ ਮਜੀਠ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਰਗਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਚਾੜਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਭੰਙੁ ॥੧॥
gur tuthai har rang chaarhi-aa fir bahurh na hovee bhang. ||1||
On becoming gracious, the Guru imbues one with the love of God which never fades. ||1||
ਜੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਰੰਗ (ਪਿਆਰ) ਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧॥
