ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਨਿੰਦਸਿ ਕਾਇ ਭੂਲੀ ਗਵਾਰੀ ॥
naaraa-in nindas kaa-ay bhoolee gavaaree.
O’ my unwisely deluded mind, why are you blaming God?
ਹੇ ਭੁੱਲੜ ਮੂਰਖ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਦੋਸ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈਂ?
ਦੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਥਾਰੋ ਕਰਮੁ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dukarit sukarit thaaro karam ree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Past sinful and virtuous deeds are the cause of Sorrow and pleasure. |1|Pause|
ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਾਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੰਕਰਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਬਸਤਾ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਇਸਨਾਨ ਰੇ ॥
sankraa mastak bastaa sursaree isnaan ray.
Even though moon (the mythical god) dwells in Shiva’s forehead and daily bathes in the most sacred river Ganges;
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਿੱਤ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੁਲ ਜਨ ਮਧੇ ਮਿਲ੍ਯ੍ਯਿੋ ਸਾਰਗ ਪਾਨ ਰੇ ॥
kul jan maDhay mili-yo saarag paan ray.
Vishnu reincarnated himself as god Krishna in the family of moon,
ਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ-ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ) ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ।
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਕਲੰਕੁ ਮਫੀਟਸਿ ਰੀ ॥੧॥
karam kar kalank mafeetas ree. ||1||
Still the stains from its past actions remain on the moon’s face. ||1||.
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦਾ) ਦਾਗ਼ ਨਾਹ ਹਟ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਸ੍ਵ ਕਾ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਤਾ ਚੇ ਰੇ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਪੰਖੀ ਰਾਇ ਗਰੁੜ ਤਾ ਚੇ ਬਾਧਵਾ ॥
bisav kaa deepak savaamee taa chay ray su-aarthee pankhee raa-ay garurh taa chay baaDhvaa.
Even though Aruna, the mythical chauffeur of god Sun, the lamp of the universe, is related to Garad, the king of birds,
ਰਥਵਾਹੀ ਅਰੁਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਗਰੁੜ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਅਰੁਣ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਰੀ ॥੨॥
karam kar arun pingulaa ree. ||2||
still he remained crippled because of his past deeds. ||2||
ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਰੁਣ ਪਿੰਗਲਾ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੨॥
ਅਨਿਕ ਪਾਤਿਕ ਹਰਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਨਾਥੁ ਰੀ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤਾ ਲਹੈ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ਰੀ ॥
anik paatik hartaa taribhavan naath ree tirath tirath bharmataa lahai na paar ree.
Shiva, the Master of three worlds and destroyer of countless sins, wandered in countless sacred shrines,
ਭਾਵੇਂ (ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਨਾਥ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਤੀਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਿਆ, ਜਿਨਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਕਪਾਲੁ ਮਫੀਟਸਿ ਰੀ ॥੩॥
karam kar kapaal mafeetas ree. ||3||
but he couldn’t get rid of the skull fixed on his hand due to his evil deed. ||3||
ਬਰ੍ਹਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਕੱਟਣ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਖੋਪਰੀ ਨਾਹ ਲਹਿ ਸਕੀ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਸੀਅ ਧੇਨ ਲਛਿਮੀ ਕਲਪਤਰ ਸਿਖਰਿ ਸੁਨਾਗਰ ਨਦੀ ਚੇ ਨਾਥੰ ॥
amrit sasee-a Dhayn lachhimee kalpatar sikhar sunaagar nadee chay naathaN.
The myth is that the ambrosial nectar, the moon, the wish-fulfilling cow, Lakshmi (goddess of wealth), the miraculous tree, the seven headed horse, and Dhanvantar, the wise physician, arose from the ocean, the master of rivers;
ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਥ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ, ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ, ਕਾਮਧੇਨ, ਲੱਛਮੀ, ਕਲਪ-ਰੁੱਖ, ਸੱਤ-ਮੂੰਹਾ ਘੋੜਾ, ਧਨੰਤਰੀ ਵੈਦ (ਆਦਿਕ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਰਤਨ) ਨਿਕਲੇ ਸਨ,
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਖਾਰੁ ਮਫੀਟਸਿ ਰੀ ॥੪॥
karam kar khaar mafeetas ree. ||4||
still because of its evil deeds, the ocean could not get rid of its saltiness. ||4||
ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਖਾਰਾ-ਪਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੪॥
ਦਾਧੀਲੇ ਲੰਕਾ ਗੜੁ ਉਪਾੜੀਲੇ ਰਾਵਣ ਬਣੁ ਸਲਿ ਬਿਸਲਿ ਆਣਿ ਤੋਖੀਲੇ ਹਰੀ ॥
daaDheelay lankaa garh upaarheelay raavan ban sal bisal aan tokheelay haree.
Even though Hanuman burnt down the fort of Lanka and uprooted the garden of Ravan, brought the wound-healing herb and pleased god Rama,
ਹਨੂੰਮਾਨ) ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਲੰਕਾ ਦਾ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਾੜਿਆ, ਰਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ਼ ਉਜਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਸੱਲ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬੂਟੀ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਕਛਉਟੀ ਮਫੀਟਸਿ ਰੀ ॥੫॥
karam kar kachh-utee mafeetas ree. ||5||
still because of his deeds, he could not be rid of his loincloth. ||5||
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਜਹੀ ਕੱਛ ਨਾਹ ਹਟ ਸਕੀ ॥੫॥
ਪੂਰਬਲੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਮੁ ਨ ਮਿਟੈ ਰੀ ਘਰ ਗੇਹਣਿ ਤਾ ਚੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਜਾਪੀਅਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੇ ਨਾਮੰ ॥
poorbalo kirat karam na mitai ree ghar gayhan taa chay mohi jaapee-alay raam chay naamaN.
O’ my mind, the consequence of our past deeds cannot be erased, therefore I meditate on God’s Name with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਪਿਛਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਮ ਮਿਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ; ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਬਦਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ ॥੬॥੧॥

This is what devotee Trilochan says, O’ my Revered God. ||6||1||

ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਾਜਿ ਆਰਤੀ ॥ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਉ ਕਮਲਾ ਪਤੀ ॥੧॥
Dhoop deep gharit saaj aartee. vaarnay jaa-o kamlaa patee. ||1||
O’ the Master of the goddess of wealth, I dedicate myself to You; dedication to You for me is Your Aarti (worship) with incense, lamps, and clarified butter. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੀ) ਧੂਪ ਦੀਵੇ ਤੇ ਘਿਉ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਸਮੱਗ੍ਰੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ॥੧॥
ਮੰਗਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਗਲਾ ॥ ਨਿਤ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
manglaa har manglaa. nit mangal raajaa raam raa-ay ko. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God, the sovereign King, within me joyous songs of Your praises are being sung every day. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਹੇ ਰਾਮ! ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਊਤਮੁ ਦੀਅਰਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਾਤੀ ॥ ਤੁਹੀ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਕਮਲਾ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
ootam dee-araa nirmal baatee. tuheeN niranjan kamlaa paatee. ||2||
O’ immaculate Master of the goddess of wealth, for me You are like the most sublime lamp and pure wick. ||2||
ਹੇ ਕਮਲਾਪਤੀ! ਹੇ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ! ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਆਰਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੀ ਵੱਟੀ ਹੈਂ॥੨॥
ਰਾਮਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
raamaa bhagat raamaanand jaanai. pooran parmaanand bakhaanai. ||3||
The one who sings praises of the all pervading God, the embodiment of supreme bliss, enjoys the bliss of union with Him through His devotional worship. ||3||
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮ ਆਨੰਦ-ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਦਨ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਭੈ ਤਾਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੇ ॥ ਸੈਨੁ ਭਣੈ ਭਜੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੇ ॥੪॥੨॥
madan moorat bhai taar gobinday. sain bhanai bhaj parmaananday. ||4||2||
San says, remember that beautiful God who is the embodiment of supreme bliss, who liberates from all the worldly fears and cherishes the universe. ||4||2||
ਸੈਣ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਉਸ ਪਰਮ-ਆਨੰਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਡਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

Hymn of Devotee Peepaa Ji:
ਕਾਯਉ ਦੇਵਾ ਕਾਇਅਉ ਦੇਵਲ ਕਾਇਅਉ ਜੰਗਮ ਜਾਤੀ ॥
kaa-ya-o dayvaa kaa-i-a-o dayval kaa-i-a-o jangam jaatee.
The body is the temple and God dwells in it; the body is the place of pilgrimage, of which I am a pilgrim (searching for God).
ਸਰੀਰ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ; ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਯਾਤਰੂ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਾਇਅਉ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਨਈਬੇਦਾ ਕਾਇਅਉ ਪੂਜਉ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੧॥
kaa-i-a-o Dhoop deep na-eebaydaa kaa-i-a-o pooja-o paatee. ||1||
Searching God within the body is like burning incense, lighting of lamps and offering delicious food on leaf plates in devotional worship. ||1||
ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਲਈ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਤੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਹੈ, ਕਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੀ, ਮੈਂ ਮਾਨੋ, ਪੱਤਰ ਭੇਟ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਟ ਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਕਾਇਆ ਬਹੁ ਖੰਡ ਖੋਜਤੇ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
kaa-i-aa baho khand khojtay nav niDh paa-ee.
After searching through many realms, I have found within my body, Naam, which is like the nine treasures.
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ (ਆਖ਼ਰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਨੌ ਨਿਧੀ ਲੱਭ ਲਈ ਹੈ,
ਨਾ ਕਛੁ ਆਇਬੋ ਨਾ ਕਛੁ ਜਾਇਬੋ ਰਾਮ ਕੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naa kachh aa-ibo naa kachh jaa-ibo raam kee duhaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Since the time I prayed to God for mercy, I have realized that for me, nothing comes and nothing goes (the cycle of birth and death has ended). ||1||Pause||
ਜਦ ਦੀ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਨਾਂ ਆਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡੇ ਸੋਈ ਪਿੰਡੇ ਜੋ ਖੋਜੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
jo barahmanday so-ee pinday jo khojai so paavai.
The One who pervades the Universe also dwells in the body; whoever seeks Him, finds Him there.
ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ) ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੀਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਪਰਮ ਤਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਲਖਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੩॥
peepaa paranvai param tat hai satgur ho-ay lakhaavai. ||2||3||
Devotee Peepaa prays that God is the supreme essence; He reveals Himself through the true Guru. ||2||3||
ਪੀਪਾ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਰੀ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਝਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥

ਗੋਪਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਰਤਾ ॥

O’ God, I am a humble beggar of Yours,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਦਾ ਮੰਗਤਾ ਹਾਂ
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo jan tumree bhagat karantay tin kay kaaj savaarataa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You accomplish the tasks of all those who lovingly worship You. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦਾਲਿ ਸੀਧਾ ਮਾਗਉ ਘੀਉ ॥
daal seeDhaa maaga-o ghee-o.
I ask from You, some lentil, flour, and clarified butter,
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦਾਲ, ਆਟਾ ਤੇ ਘਿਉ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਹਮਰਾ ਖੁਸੀ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਉ ॥
hamraa khusee karai nit jee-o.
which may always keep me happy.
ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਤ ਸੁਖੀ ਰੱਖੇ,
ਪਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀਆ ਛਾਦਨੁ ਨੀਕਾ ॥
panHee-aa chhaadan neekaa.
I also ask for a pair of shoes and fine clothes,
ਜੁੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਭੀ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਅਨਾਜੁ ਮਗਉ ਸਤ ਸੀ ਕਾ ॥੧॥
anaaj maga-o sat see kaa. ||1||
and good quality grains grown by tilling the land seven times. ||1||
ਤੇ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਨ ਭੀ (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹੀ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਗਊ ਭੈਸ ਮਗਉ ਲਾਵੇਰੀ ॥
ga-oo bhais maga-o laavayree.
I ask for a milk-yielding cow and a buffalo,
ਮੈਂ ਗਾਂ ਮਹਿੰ ਲਵੇਰੀ (ਭੀ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਇਕ ਤਾਜਨਿ ਤੁਰੀ ਚੰਗੇਰੀ ॥
ik taajan turee changayree.
and an excellent Arabian mare.
ਤੇ ਇਕ ਚੰਗੀ ਅਰਬੀ ਘੋੜੀ ਭੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਘਰ ਕੀ ਗੀਹਨਿ ਚੰਗੀ ॥ ਜਨੁ ਧੰਨਾ ਲੇਵੈ ਮੰਗੀ ॥੨॥੪॥
ghar kee geehan changee.jan Dhannaa layvai mangee. ||2||4||
O’ God, Your humble devotee Dhanna asks for a good housewife too. ||2||4||
ਹੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਧੰਨਾ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੪॥
