ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੩॥
vadbhaagee gur paa-i-aa bhaa-ee har har naam Dhi-aa-ay. ||3||
O’ brother, the fortunate person who meets with the Guru and follows his teachings, always meditates on God’s Name with loving devotion. ||3||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਚੁ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਇ ॥
sach sadaa hai nirmalaa bhaa-ee nirmal saachay so-ay.
O’ brother, the eternal God is always immaculate, and immaculate is His praise.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਹੀ) ਸਦਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ।
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
nadar karay jis aapnee bhaa-ee tis paraapat ho-ay.
O’ brother, this gift of singing His praises is received by the one on whom He bestows His glance of grace.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੋਇ ॥
kot maDhay jan paa-ee-ai bhaa-ee virlaa ko-ee ko-ay.
O’ brother, even among millions, hardly such a humble devotee is found.
ਤੇ,ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak rataa sach naam bhaa-ee sun man tan nirmal ho-ay. ||4||2||
O’ Nanak, one who remains imbued with the Name of eternal God, by listening to God’s praises, his mind and body become immaculate. ||4||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

ਜਉ ਲਉ ਭਾਉ ਅਭਾਉ ਇਹੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਤਉ ਲਉ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਦੂਰਾਈ ॥
ja-o la-o bhaa-o abhaa-o ih maanai ta-o la-o milan dooraa-ee.
As long as a person believes in love for some and hate for others, his union with God remains difficult.
ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਆਨ ਆਪਨਾ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ਤਉ ਲਉ ਬੀਚੁ ਬਿਖਾਈ ॥੧॥
aan aapnaa karat beechaaraa ta-o la-o beech bikhaa-ee. ||1||
As long as he considers some as his own and other as strangers, till then a curtain of poisonous worldly relations remains between him and God. ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਏ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਧਵੇ ਐਸੀ ਦੇਹੁ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
maaDhvay aisee dayh bujhaa-ee.
O’ God, grant me such understanding,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼,
ਸੇਵਉ ਸਾਧ ਗਹਉ ਓਟ ਚਰਨਾ ਨਹ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਮੁਹਤੁ ਚਸਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sayva-o saaDh gaha-o ot charnaa nah bisrai muhat chasaa-ee. rahaa-o.
that I may follow the Guru’s teachings and keep holding on to his words as my support, which I may never forget even for an instant. ||Pause||
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਫੜੀ ਰੱਖਾਂ, ਇਹ ਆਸਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ-ਭਰ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲੇ ॥ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਚੇਤ ਚੰਚਲ ਚਿਤ ਤੁਮ ਐਸੀ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਆਈ ॥
ray man mugaDh achayt chanchal chit tum aisee ridai na aa-ee.
O’ foolish, unconscious and fickle mind, never has such a thing occurred to you,
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਿਲ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਨ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝੀ,
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਆਨ ਤੂ ਰਚਿਆ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਰਾਈ ॥੨॥
paraanpat ti-aag aan too rachi-aa urjhi-o sang bairaa-ee.||2||
that forsaking the Master of your life breath, you are attached to others; you are involved with your enemies such as lust, anger, and greed etc. ||2||
ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਥਾਪੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
sog na bi-aapai aap na thaapai saaDhsangat buDh paa-ee.
Sorrow does not afflict the one who does not harbor self-conceit; I have received this wisdom in the company of saintly persons.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਅਕਲ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ।
ਸਾਕਤ ਕਾ ਬਕਨਾ ਇਉ ਜਾਨਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਪਵਨੁ ਝੁਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
saakat kaa baknaa i-o jaan-o jaisay pavan jhulaa-ee. ||3||
Know that the babbling of the faithless cynic is like wind passing by. ||3||
(ਤਾਂਹੀਏਂ) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਸਮਝ ਛਡਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਹਵਾ ਦਾ ਝੋਕਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਅਛਾਦਿਓ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
kot paraaDh achhaadi-o ih man kahnaa kachhoo na jaa-ee.
This mind is inundated by millions of sins, nothing can be said about it.
ਇਹ ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਦਬਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਬਾਬਤ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਭੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਰਖਹੁ ਉਠਾਈ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan naanak deen saran aa-i-o parabh sabh laykhaa rakhahu uthaa-ee. ||4||3||
O’ God, I, the humble devotee Nanak, has come to your refuge, please erase all accounts of my deeds. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਹ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਨਬੰਧੇਹੀ ॥
putar kaltar lok garih banitaa maa-i-aa sanbanDhayhee.
Children, spouses and other relatives in one’s household are all bound by Maya.
ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਰ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਘਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਨਾਨੀਆਂ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਕ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਕੋ ਖਰਾ ਨ ਹੋਸੀ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਅਸਨੇਹੀ ॥੧॥
ant kee baar ko kharaa na hosee sabh mithi-aa asnayhee. ||1||
At the time of death, none of them shall stand by you ; their love is false. ||1||
ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੇਗਾ, ਸਾਰੇ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਰੇ ਨਰ ਕਾਹੇ ਪਪੋਰਹੁ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
ray nar kaahay paporahu dayhee.
O’ mortal, why do you pamper your body so much?
ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਲਾਡਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
ਊਡਿ ਜਾਇਗੋ ਧੂਮੁ ਬਾਦਰੋ ਇਕੁ ਭਾਜਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ood jaa-igo Dhoom baadro ik bhaajahu raam sanayhee. rahaa-o.
It will vanish away like a cloud of smoke; only meditate on God who alone is the true friend. ||Pause||
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਧੂੰਏ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਉਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੀਨਿ ਸੰਙਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਜਲ ਕੂਕਰ ਭਸਮੇਹੀ ॥
teen sanyi-aa kar dayhee keenee jal kookar bhasmayhee.
Fixing three as the number of ways for its final disposal, the human body was created which is: throwing in water, throwing before dogs or cremated to ashes.
ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਤਿੰਨ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ-ਜਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਣਾ, ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੁਟ ਦੇਣਾ, ਜਾਂ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ
ਹੋਇ ਆਮਰੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਠਾ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਿਸਰੋਹੀ ॥੨॥
ho-ay aamro garih meh baithaa karan kaaran bisrohee. ||2||
But deeming yourself as immortal, you are sitting in your house forsaking God the cause and doer of everything. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਣੀਏ ਸਾਜੇ ਕਾਚੈ ਤਾਗਿ ਪਰੋਹੀ ॥
anik bhaat kar manee-ay saajay kaachai taag parohee.
God created His creatures in myriad ways and strung them like beads in a flimsy thread (of life breaths).
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗ) (ਜੀਵ ਰੂਪੀ) ਮਣਕੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ; (ਪਰ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕੱਚੇ ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਤੂਟਿ ਜਾਇਗੋ ਸੂਤੁ ਬਾਪੁਰੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਛੁਤੋਹੀ ॥੩॥
toot jaa-igo soot baapuray fir paachhai pachhutohee. ||3||
O’ helpless mortal, any time this thread (of breath) would break down, and then you would repent. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਵ! ਇਹ ਧਾਗਾ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਇਗਾ, ਫਿਰ ਸਮਾ ਵਿਹਾ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਮਲੇਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਰਜੇ ਸਿਰਜਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨੇਹੀ ॥
jin tum sirjay siraj savaaray tis Dhi-aavahu din rainayhee.
Always meditate on that God with love and devotion who created you and after creating adorned you.
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਓਟ ਗਹੇਹੀ ॥੪॥੪॥
jan naanak parabh kirpaa Dhaaree mai satgur ot gahayhee. ||4||4||
Devotee Nanak says, God has bestowed mercy upon me and I am holding tight to the Support of the Guru. ||4||4||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਘੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਫੜ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨਹਿ ਭਇਆ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
gur pooraa bhayti-o vadbhaagee maneh bha-i-aa pargaasaa.
By great good fortune, I have met and have followed the teachings of the perfect Guru; and now my mind is enlightened with divine wisdom.
ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ।
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਹੁਚਨਹਾਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
ko-ay na pahuchanhaaraa doojaa apunay saahib kaa bharvaasaa. ||1||
I have the support of my Master; no one else can be equal to Him. ||1||
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
apunay satgur kai balihaarai.
I am dedicated to my true Guru.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਆਗੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aagai sukh paachhai sukh sahjaa ghar aanand hamaarai. rahaa-o.
I am at peace in this world and I would be in celestial peace in the next, so there is a state of bliss in my mind. ||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਸੁਖ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ਸੋਈ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
antarjaamee karnaihaaraa so-ee khasam hamaaraa.
The same God is my Master who is the knower of hearts and doer of everything.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੇ ਇਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
nirbha-o bha-ay gur charnee laagay ik raam naam aaDhaaraa. ||2||
Since the time I have followed the Guru’s teachings, God’s Name has become my support and I have become fearless. ||2||
ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਵਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
safal darsan akaal moorat parabh hai bhee hovanhaaraa.
The blessed vision of the eternal God is fruitful in achieving the goal of human life; He is present now and would always be there in future.
ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੩॥
kanth lagaa-ay apunay jan raakhay apunee pareet pi-aaraa. ||3||
By bestowing His love, God keeps His devotees safe and close to Him. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
vadee vadi-aa-ee achraj sobhaa kaaraj aa-i-aa raasay.
Great is the glory and wondrous is the splendor of the Guru, by following his teachings the purpose of human life is accomplished.
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਬੜੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
