ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jap jeevaa parabh charan tumaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that as long as I live, I may be blessed with spiritual living by meditating on Your Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ॥
da-i-aal purakh mayray parabh daatay.
O’ my merciful Benevolent God,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ!
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਨਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੨॥
jisahi janaavhu tineh tum jaatay. ||2||
He, who is blessed by You, is the only one who has united with You. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
sadaa sadaa jaa-ee balihaaree.
O’ God, I am dedicated to You forever and ever.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਇਤ ਉਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਓਟ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
it ut daykh-a-u ot tumaaree. ||3||
I am always seeking only for Your support, both here and hereafter. ||3||
ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਗੁਣੁ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
mohi nirgun gun kichhoo na jaataa.
O’ God, I do not have any talent therefore I could not realise any of Your virtues,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਣ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ (ਉਪਕਾਰ) ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਿਆ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
naanak saaDhoo daykh man raataa. ||4||3||
O’ Nanak, it is only upon getting a glimpse of the Guru that I have become attuned to God. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥

Wadahans, Fifth Guru:
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
antarjaamee so parabh pooraa.
That Perfect God has infinite insight, He possesses all the virtues.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ।
ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਾ ॥੧॥
daan day-ay saaDhoo kee Dhooraa. ||1||
When He shows mercy, He blesses with humble devotion of the Guru.||1||
(ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ (ਵਜੋਂ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh deen da-i-aalaa.
O’ my merciful God of the meek, kindly bless me with Guru’s guidance.
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ।
ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

O’ Omnipresent Sustainer of the Universe God, I depend only on Your support. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ-ਪਾਲਕ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥
jal thal mahee-al rahi-aa bharpooray.
God is all-pervading on land, under water and in the sky.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਜ਼ੱਰੇ ਜ਼ੱਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ,
ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੂਰੇ ॥੨॥
nikat vasai naahee parabh dooray. ||2||
Therefore, He is near at hand and is not far away from anyone. ||2||
ਉਹ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
jis no nadar karay so Dhi-aa-ay.
Only the one who is blessed by Him, keeps meditating on His Naam,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥੩॥
aath pahar har kay gun gaa-ay. ||3||
and keeps singing His praises all the time. ||3||
ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੇ ॥
jee-a jant saglay partipaaray.
God sustains all beings and creatures.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੪॥੪॥
saran pari-o naanak har du-aaray. ||4||4||
Nanak has sought God’s refuge to bless him with Your guidance. ||4||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥
ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Wadahans, Fifth Guru:
ਤੂ ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
too vad daataa antarjaamee.
O’ God, You are the greatest benefactor and You have infinite insight into hearts of all living beings.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੧॥
sabh meh ravi-aa pooran parabh su-aamee. ||1||
O’ Omnipresent God, You are pervading in all. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
mayray parabh pareetam naam aDhaaraa.
O’ Beloved God, only Your Naam is my support.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ (ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ha-o sun sun jeevaa naam tumaaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I am being blessed with spiritual living by listening to Your Word. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
tayree saran satgur mayray pooray.
O’ my Perfect True Guru, I have come to seek refuge in You,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ,
ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤਾ ਧੂਰੇ ॥੨॥
man nirmal ho-ay santaa Dhooray. ||2||
because one’s mind gets purified by humbly following the teachings of the Guru. ||2||
ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
charan kamal hirdai ur Dhaaray.
O’ God, I have enshrined Your immaculate Naam in my heart,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
tayray darsan ka-o jaa-ee balihaaray. ||3||
and I am devoted to You since I got a glimpse of You. ||3||
ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ॥
kar kirpaa tayray gun gaavaa.
O’ God, show Your mercy unto me so that I may keep singing Your praises,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
naanak naam japat sukh paavaa. ||4||5||
and keep relishing the bliss while meditating on Your Naam, O’ Nanak. ||4||5||
ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ॥੪॥੫॥

Wadahans, Fifth Guru:
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥
saaDhsang har amrit peejai.
The nectar of God’s Naam should be realised only in the company of the Guru,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਲ ਪੀਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾ ਜੀਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਛੀਜੈ ॥੧॥
naa jee-o marai na kabhoo chheejai. ||1||
because of which neither one’s soul dies nor does it become weak.||1||
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੰਦ ਨਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
vadbhaagee gur pooraa paa-ee-ai.
It is through good fortune that one attains the guidance of The Perfect Guru,
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur kirpaa tay parabhoo Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and it is through the kindness of the Guru that meditation on God’s Naam can be performed. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਰਤਨ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਣਕ ਲਾਲਾ ॥
ratan javaahar har maanak laalaa.
God’s Naam is precious like jewels, diamonds, rubies, and pearls.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਰਤਨ ਹਨ, ਜਵਾਹਰ ਹਨ, ਮੋਤੀ ਹਨ, ਲਾਲ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥੨॥
simar simar parabh bha-ay nihaalaa. ||2||
A person is filled with delight while meditating on God’s Naam.||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣਾ ॥
jat kat paykha-o saaDhoo sarnaa.
I see everywhere through the Guru’s Sanctuary only,
ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਕਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕੇਵਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ,
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਕਰਣਾ ॥੩॥
har gun gaa-ay nirmal man karnaa. ||3||
and the mind can be purified by singing praises of God.||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵੂਠਾ ॥
ghat ghat antar mayraa su-aamee voothaa.
My Master God is pervading in each and every heart.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤੂਠਾ ॥੪॥੬॥
naanak naam paa-i-aa parabh toothaa. ||4||6||
But, O’ Nanak, one starts meditating on His Naam only when God shows mercy. ||4||6||
ਜਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (-ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ॥੪॥੬॥

ਵਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
visar naahee parabh deen da-i-aalaa.
O’ God, the gracious on the meek, please do not ever forsake me.
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਭੁਲ!
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayree saran pooran kirpaalaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ Omnipresent and kind God, I have come to Your shelter. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ! ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਹ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ॥
jah chit aavahi so thaan suhaavaa.
O’ God, the heart, that gets attuned to You, becomes graceful,
ਜਿਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਥਾਂ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਤੁ ਵੇਲਾ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਤਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਹਾਵਾ ॥੧॥
jit vaylaa visrahi taa laagai haavaa. ||1||
the moment, You slip out of my mind (conscious), I sigh in grief.||1||
ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੂੰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਹਉਕਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਤੂ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਥੀ ॥
tayray jee-a too sad hee saathee.
O’ God, all creatures are Your creation, You are their constant Supporter,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ) ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈਂ।
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੇ ਕਢੁ ਦੇ ਹਾਥੀ ॥੨॥
sansaar saagar tay kadh day haathee. ||2||
please rescue them out of the worldly ocean with Your support. ||2||
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣਾ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ ॥੨॥
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕੀਆ ॥
aavan jaanaa tum hee kee-aa.
O’ God, it is You who ordained the cycle of birth and death,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੩॥
jis too raakhahi tis dookh na thee-aa. ||3||
whosoever You keep out of this cycle, suffers no pain. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ (ਇਸ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਹੋਰਿ ॥
too ayko saahib avar na hor.
O’ God, You are the sole Master of this Universe, there is no other like You.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ ਐਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਰ ਜੋਰਿ ॥੪॥੭॥
bin-o karai naanak kar jor. ||4||7||
Therefore, Nanak prays to You with folded hands to pull us out of this worldly ocean. ||4||7||
ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ) ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੭॥

Wadahans, Fifth Gurul:
ਤੂ ਜਾਣਾਇਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
too jaanaa-ihi taa ko-ee jaanai.
O’ God, when You bless somebody, only then one unites with You,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥੧॥
tayraa dee-aa naam vakhaanai. ||1||
and meditates on Naam that is blessed by You.||1||
ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤੂ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਸਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

O’ God, You are wonderful and Your creation is amazing too.||1||Pause||
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਭੀ ਹੈਰਾਨਗੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
