ਦੁਖ ਅਨੇਰਾ ਭੈ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਗਏ ਨਿਖੂਟਿ ॥੧॥
dukh anayraa bhai binaasay paap ga-ay nikhoot. ||1||
All his sorrows, darkness of ignorance and all fears have been dispelled, and all the sins have been eradicated.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
har har naam kee man pareet.
Love for God’s Name develops in that person’s mind,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਬਚਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਧਿਆਏ ਮਹਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil saaDh bachan gobind Dhi-aa-ay mahaa nirmal reet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who remembers God by meeting and following the Guru’s teachings; his way of living becomes the most immaculate.||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਫਲ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮ ॥
jaap taap anayk karnee safal simrat naam.
All the merits of devotional worships, penances, and innumerable rituals are included in the fruitful deed of remembering God.
ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚੇ ਹੀ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਭਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥
kar anoograhu aap raakhay bha-ay pooran kaam. ||2||
All tasks of achieving life’s purpose of those are successfully accomplished whom God protects by bestowing His mercy. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਮਰਥ ॥
saas saas na bisar kabahooN barahm parabh samrath.
Keep remembering the all- powerful and all pervading God with each and every breath, and don’t ever forsake Him.
ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਵਿਸਾਰ।
ਗੁਣ ਅਨਿਕ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਿਆ ਬਖਾਨੈ ਅਗਨਤ ਸਦਾ ਅਕਥ ॥੩॥
gun anik rasnaa ki-aa bakhaanai agnat sadaa akath. ||3||
One’s tongue cannot describe the innumerable virtues of the eternal God, who is indescribable. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ, ਗਿਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ। ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਤਾਰਣ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਣ ॥
deen darad nivaar taaran da-i-aal kirpaa karan.
God is capable of dispelling the sorrows of the humble and helping them to swim across the worldly ocean of vices; He is compassionate and kind to all.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਟਲ ਪਦਵੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣ ॥੪॥੩॥੨੯॥
atal padvee naam simran darirh naanak har har saran. ||4||3||29||
O’ Nanak, supreme spiritual status is attained by remembering God, therefore, seek His refuge and keep reciting his Name. ||4||3||29||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਅਟੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕਾ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖ, ॥੪॥੩॥੨੯॥

ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਬਹੁ ਸਘਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਾ ਦੀਰਘ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
ahaN-buDh baho saghan maa-i-aa mahaa deeragh rog.
The arrogant intellect and immense love for Maya, the worldly riches and power, are the most serious chronic diseases,
ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬੜਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਰੋਗ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਨੋ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
har naam a-ukhaDh gur naam deeno karan kaaran jog. ||1||
and God’s Name is the medicine for these; the Guru has blessed me Naam which is capable of doing and getting everything done.||1||
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਹੇ l ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਾਛੀਐ ਜਨ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
man tan baachhee-ai jan Dhoor.
With our mind and heart we should yearn for the most humble service of God’s devotees,
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ (ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ) ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਹਹਿ ਪਾਤਿਕ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲੋਚਾ ਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot janam kay laheh paatik gobind lochaa poor. ||1|| rahaa-o.
by doing so, our sins of millions of births are washed off; O’ God, fulfill this desire of mine. ||1||Pause|||
(ਜਨ-ਧੂਰਿ’ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਮਧਿ ਆਸਾ ਕੂਕਰੀ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ॥
aad antay maDh aasaa kookree bikraal.
In the beginning, end and middle of life, one is dogged by the dreadful desires.
ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਾ ਇਕ ਡਰਾਉਣੀ ਕੁੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਰੰਭ ਅਖੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਰਮਣੰ ਕਾਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਜਾਲ ॥੨॥
gur gi-aan keertan gobind ramnaN kaatee-ai jam jaal. ||2||
It is only with the spiritual wisdom blessed by the Guru and by singing God’s praises that we are able to cut off this noose of spiritual death. ||2||
ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਜਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਮੂਠੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਵਾ ਗਵਣ ॥
kaam kroDh lobh moh moothay sadaa aavaa gavan.
Those who are deceived by the lust, anger, greed, and attachment, always keep suffering in the cycles of birth and death.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ (ਆਦਿਕ ਚੋਰਾਂ) ਠੱਗ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ , ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਸਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਮਿਟਤ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਵਣ ॥੩॥
parabh paraym bhagat gupaal simran mitat jonee bhavan. ||3||
The cycles of birth and death end by loving devotional worship and by always remembering God. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਰ ਰਿਦ ਤੀਨਿ ਤਾਪ ਜਲੰਤ ॥
mitar putar kaltar sur rid teen taap jalant.
in spite of having all good intentions, our friends, children and spouse cannot help us, because they themselves are suffering in the three kinds of physical, mental, and social grief.
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਦੋਸਤ, ਲੜਕੇ, ਇਸਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਭਚਿੰਤਕ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਬੁਖਾਰਾਂ (ਆਧਿ, ਬਿਆਧਿ, ਤੇ ਉਪਾਧਿ) ਨਾਲ ਸੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮਾ ਦੁਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੰਤ ॥੪॥
jap raam raamaa dukh nivaaray milai har jan sant. ||4||
But one who meets the devotees and saints of God, gets rid of his sufferings by always remembering God.||4||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਸਰਬ ਬਿਧਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥
sarab biDh bharamtay pukaareh kateh naahee chhot.
People are wandering around in all directions, proclaiming that nothing can liberate them from the grips of the worldly desires.
ਜੀਵ ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਆਸਾ ਕੂਕਰੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਗਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ॥੫॥੪॥੩੦॥
har charan saran apaar parabh kay darirh gahee naanak ot. ||5||4||30||
O’ Nanak, (to escape from the love of worldly desires) I have come to the refuge of the infinite God and have firmly grasped the support of His Name. ||5||4||30||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫੜ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੪॥੩੦॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਰਾਧਿ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
aaraaDh sareeDhar safal moorat karan kaaran jog.
Worship and adore God, whose form is fulfilling and fruitful and who is capable of doing and getting everything done.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਰਮਣ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਅਪਾਰ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਤ ਬਿਓਗੁ ॥੧॥
gun raman sarvan apaar mahimaa fir na hot bi-og. ||1||
By singing the praises of the infinite God and listening to His glory, one is never separated from Him again. ||1||
ਉਸ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਉਪਾਸ ॥
man charnaarbind upaas.
O’ my mind, perform devotional worship of God
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ।
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੰਤ ਸਿਮਰਣਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਫਾਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kal kalays mitant simran kaat jamdoot faas. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By remembering God, all inner strife and sorrow end; and the noose of the demon of death is cut (the fear of death is dispelled). ||1||Pause||
(ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਦਹਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਨ ਅਵਰ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਉਪਾਉ ॥
satar dahan har naam kahan avar kachh na upaa-o.
The enemies like lust, anger and greed are destroyed by remembering God, and there is no other way to overcome these impulses.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਨ ਲਈ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਹੈ,(ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੧॥
kar anoograhu parabhoo mayray naanak naam su-aa-o. ||2||1||31||
Nanak says, O’ my God, bestow mercy so that remembering You may remain the purpose of my life. ||2||1||31||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੧॥

ਤੂੰ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਰਾਇ ॥
tooN samrath saran ko daataa dukh bhanjan sukh raa-ay.
O’ God, You are all powerful and the support of the person who comes to seek Your refuge; You are the dispeller of sorrows and the provider of celestial peace.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਾਹਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥
jaahi kalays mitay bhai bharmaa nirmal gun parabh gaa-ay. ||1||
O’ God, one’s dreads and doubts are erased, and all troubles disappear by singing Your immaculate praises. ||1||
ਤੇਰੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਭਰਮ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥
govind tujh bin avar na thaa-o.
O’ God , except You, there is no other support for me.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਪੀ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa paarbarahm su-aamee japee tumaaraa naa-o. rahaa-o.
O’ Supreme Master-God, bestow mercy that I may always remember You. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਲਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
satgur sayv lagay har charnee vadai bhaag liv laagee.
Those who are imbued with the love of God by following the true Guru’s teachings, their mind gets attuned to God by great good fortune.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ( ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ) ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
