ਗੂਜਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਤੀਜਾ ॥

Raag Goojree, Third Guru:
ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਿਖੁ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
ayko naam niDhaan pandit sun sikh sach so-ee.
O’ pundit, God’s Name is the only true treasure, learn to listen and meditate on the eternal God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਇਕ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ, ਇਸ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ ਸਿੱਖ।
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਜੇਤਾ ਪੜਹਿ ਪੜਤ ਗੁਣਤ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
doojai bhaa-ay jaytaa parheh parhat gunat sadaa dukh ho-ee. ||1||
Swayed by duality (the love of things other than God), whatever you read or reflect, always brings you sorrow. ||1||
ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਯਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਤੂੰ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
har charnee tooN laag rahu gur sabad sojhee ho-ee.
O’ pundit, by following the Guru’s teachings you should remain attuned to God’s Name; you would attain understanding about righteous living.
ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ, ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਪਵੇਗੀ।
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੁ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har ras rasnaa chaakh tooN taaN man nirmal ho-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By continually relishing the elixir of God’s Name with your tongue, your mind will be rendered immaculately pure. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਐ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
satgur mili-ai man santokhee-ai taa fir tarisnaa bhookh na ho-ay.
By meeting and following the true Guru’s teachings, the mind no longer yearns for worldly desires.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦੀ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
naam niDhaan paa-i-aa par ghar jaa-ay na ko-ay. ||2||
Upon receiving the treasure of Naam, one doesn’t look to anyone else for any kind of support. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਲਦਾ) ॥੨॥
ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
kathnee badnee jay karay manmukh boojh na ho-ay.
A person who follows the dictate of his mind, doesn’t obtain understanding about righteous living just by wise talks.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜੇ ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ।
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
gurmatee ghat chaannaa har naam paavai so-ay. ||3||
Only that person, whose heart is illuminated with divine wisdom through the Guru’s teachings, realizes God’s Name. ||3||
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੩॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤੂੰ ਨ ਬੁਝਹੀ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਾਰੋ ਬਾਰ ॥
sun saastar tooN na bujhhee taa fireh baaro baar.
O’ pundit, even after listening to the Shastras , you do not understand about righteous living; that is why you remain wandering .
ਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ, ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਸੋ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਜੋ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਈ ਸਚਿ ਨ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੪॥
so moorakh jo aap na pachhaan-ee sach na Dharay pi-aar. ||4||
That person is a fool, who does not realize his own-self and does not imbue himself with the love for the eternal God. ||4||
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜਤਾਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੪॥
ਸਚੈ ਜਗਤੁ ਡਹਕਾਇਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
sachai jagat dahkaa-i-aa kahnaa kachhoo na jaa-ay.
The eternal God Himself has strayed the world in Maya; nothing can be said about this.
ਸੱਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੫॥੭॥੯॥
naanak jo tis bhaavai so karay ji-o tis kee rajaa-ay. ||5||7||9||
O’ Nanak, God does whatever pleases Him and whatever is His will. ||5||7||9||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਜਗਤ ਰੁੱਝਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੫॥੭॥੯॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖਾ ਹਉ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰਉ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
har kay jan satgur sat purkhaa ha-o bin-o kara-o gur paas.
O’ the devotee of God, the true Guru, O True Primal Being, I offer my prayers to You, my Guru.
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਹੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ! ਹੇ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਹਮ ਕੀਰੇ ਕਿਰਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
ham keeray kiram satgur sarnaa-ee kar da-i-aa naam pargaas. ||1||
O’ true Guru, I am humble and like a lowly worm, have come to seek your refuge, please show mercy and enlighten me with Naam. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਕੀੜਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਿੱਕਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੀੜਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਚਾਨਣ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥
mayray meet gurdayv mo ka-o raam naam pargaas.
O’ my friend, the divine Guru, enlighten me with God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (-ਰੂਪ) ਚਾਨਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਖਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਮਰੀ ਰਹਰਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gurmat naam mayraa paraan sakhaa-ee har keerat hamree rahraas. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Naam received through the Guru’s teachings may remain my breath of life and singing God’s praising may become the capital for my life’s journey. ||1||Pause||
ਤਾਂਕੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਵਡਭਾਗ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
har jan kay vadbhaag vadayray jin har har sarDhaa har pi-aas.
Very fortunate are those devotees of God who always have the yearning for meditating on God’s Name.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਰਿ-ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
har har naam milai tariptaasahi mil sangat gun pargaas. ||2||
By realizing God’s Name, their longing for worldly desires is satiated and by joining the company of saintly persons, divine virtues manifest in them.||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਜਮ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jinH har har har ras naam na paa-i-aa tay bhaagheen jam paas.
Those, who have not received the elixir of God’s Name, are unfortunate and remain spiritually dead.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਬਦ-ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਆਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਏ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵੇ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
jo satgur saran sangat nahee aa-ay Dharig jeevay Dharig jeevaas. ||3||
Those who have not come to the shelter and congregation of the true Guru, accursed is their life and accursed is their hope of living. ||3||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਊਣ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਨ੍ਹਤ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਤਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲਿਖਾਸਿ ॥
jin har jan satgur sangat paa-ee tin Dhur mastak likhi-aa likhaas.
Those devotees of God, who have attained the company of the true Guru, must have such preordained destiny.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਰਿ-ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੧॥
Dhan Dhan satsangat jit har ras paa-i-aa mil naanak naam pargaas. ||4||1||
O’ Nanak, blessed is that holy congregation, where one attains the elixir of God’s Name and his mind is illuminated with Naam. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

Raag, Goojree, Fourth Guru:
ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹੈ ॥
govind govind pareetam man pareetam mil satsangat sabad man mohai.
Dear God, the master of the universe is the beloved of my mind; in the holy congregation, He captivates my mind through the Guru’s word.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਤ-ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਂਹਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਪਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਭ ਕਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਓਹੈ ॥੧॥
jap govind govind Dhi-aa-ee-ai sabh ka-o daan day-ay parabh ohai. ||1||
We should lovingly meditate on God, the master of universe, because it is He, who gives all kinds of gifts to all.||1||
ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰੋ, ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਜਨਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹੈ ॥
mayray bhaa-ee janaa mo ka-o govind govind govind man mohai.
O’ my brothers, I have realized God, the master of the universe and He is captivating my mind.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
govind govind govind gun gaavaa mil gur saaDhsangat jan sohai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I sing the Praises of God, the master of the Universe, because a devotee of God looks beautiful, singing His praises and joining the Guru’s company of saints. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਤੇ, ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਉਲਾ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਗਿ ਓਹੈ ॥
sukh saagar har bhagat hai gurmat ka-ulaa riDh siDh laagai pag ohai.
Worship of God is like an ocean of celestial peace; the goddess of wealth and all kinds of supernatural powers are at the disposal of a person who,because of the Guru’s teachings, is blessed with the devotional worship of God.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲੱਛਮੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਆ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਰਿਧੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਿਧੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਕਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਸੋਹੈ ॥੨॥
jan ka-o raam naam aaDhaaraa har naam japat har naamay sohai. ||2||
God’s Name is the support of His devotee whose spiritual life becomes beautiful by meditating and always remaining attuned to God’s Name.||2||
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
