One eternal God. Realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Raag Aasaa, Second Beat, Fourth Guru:
ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਤ ਨਾਲਿ ਭਾਈ ॥
kis hee Dharhaa kee-aa mitar sut naal bhaa-ee.
Some form alliances with friends, children and siblings.
ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ, ਭਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਗੰਢਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਕੁੜਮ ਸਕੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਜਵਾਈ ॥
kis hee Dharhaa kee-aa kurham sakay naal javaa-ee.
Some form alliances with in-laws and relatives (son in-law).
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਕੇ ਕੁੜਮ ਨਾਲ, ਜਵਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਧੜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਿਕਦਾਰ ਚਉਧਰੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਸੁਆਈ ॥
kis hee Dharhaa kee-aa sikdaar cha-uDhree naal aapnai su-aa-ee.
Some form alliances with chiefs and leaders for their own selfish motives.
ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਧੜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ;
ਹਮਾਰਾ ਧੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
hamaaraa Dharhaa har rahi-aa samaa-ee. ||1||
But my alliance is with God, who is pervading everywhere. ||1||
ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ॥
ham har si-o Dharhaa kee-aa mayree har tayk.
I have formed my alliance with God and He is my only support.
ਅਸਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਖੁ ਧੜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mai har bin pakh Dharhaa avar na ko-ee ha-o har gun gaavaa asaNkh anayk. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Other than God, I have no other faction or alliance and I keep singing of His countless and endless glorious virtues. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਪੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਿਉ ਧੜੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
jinH si-o Dharhay karahi say jaahi.
They ultimately depart from the world, with whom people form alliances
ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੜੇ ਗੰਢਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਕਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਝੂਠੁ ਧੜੇ ਕਰਿ ਪਛੋਤਾਹਿ ॥
jhooth Dharhay kar pachhotaahi.
Making false alliances, people repent and regret in the end.
ਕੂੜੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਖੋਟੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
thir na raheh man khot kamaahi.
Those who make factions also do not live forever and therefore, unnecessarily keep deceiving themselves and others.
ਧੜੇ ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਪ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ, ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਧੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਠੱਗੀ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧੜਾ ਕੀਆ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
ham har si-o Dharhaa kee-aa jis kaa ko-ee samrath naahi. ||2||
But I have formed pact only with God whom no one can equal in power. ||2||
ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਥ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਏਹ ਸਭਿ ਧੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥
ayh sabh Dharhay maa-i-aa moh pasaaree.
All these alliances are mere extensions of the love of Maya.
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਧੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਹਨ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਹਨ।
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਉ ਲੂਝਹਿ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥
maa-i-aa ka-o loojheh gaavaaree.
For the sake of Maya, ignorant people keep clashing with each other.
ਮੂਰਖ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੀ (ਆਪੋ ਵਿਚ) ਲੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਜੂਐ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
janam mareh joo-ai baajee haaree.
They lose the game of life and fall in the cycles of birth and death.
ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜੂਏ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਹਮਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧੜਾ ਜਿ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
hamrai har Dharhaa je halat palat sabh savaaree. ||3||
But my alliance is with God, who embellishes my this and the next world. ||3||
ਪਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਸਵਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਧੜੇ ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਝਗੜਾਏ ॥
kalijug meh Dharhay panch chor jhagrhaa-ay.
In Kalyug, the five vices instigate alliances and conflicts.
ਕਲਜੁਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੰਜ ਤਸਕਰ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਸਾਦ ਖੜੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਵਧਾਏ ॥
kaam kroDh lobh moh abhimaan vaDhaa-ay.
Lust, anger, greed, emotional attachment and self-conceit have increased.
ਕਾਮ, ਗੁੱਸਾ, ਲਾਲਚ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
jis no kirpaa karay tis satsang milaa-ay.
One on whom God shows His mercy, he gets united with the the holy congregation.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਹਰ ਕ ਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਹਮਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਧੜਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਧੜੇ ਸਭਿ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੪॥
hamraa har Dharhaa jin ayh Dharhay sabh gavaa-ay. ||4||
My alliance is with God who has made me abandon all other worldly factions. |4|
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਧੜੇ ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਧੜੇ ਬਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
mithi-aa doojaa bhaa-o Dharhay bahi paavai.
False love of duality in the mind of the people creates alliances.
ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਧੜੇ-ਬਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰਾਇਆ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਅਟਕਲੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਵਧਾਵੈ ॥
paraa-i-aa chhidar atkalai aapnaa ahaNkaar vaDhaavai.
One makes wild guesses about the fault of others and multiply his own ego by thinking himself superior than others.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਬ ਜਾਚਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਧਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੈਸਾ ਬੀਜੈ ਤੈਸਾ ਖਾਵੈ ॥
jaisaa beejai taisaa khaavai.
As one sows, so does one reap.
ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਬੀ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਧੜਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਜਿਣਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੫॥੨॥੫੪॥
jan naanak kaa har Dharhaa Dharam sabh sarisat jin aavai. ||5||2||54||
The alliance of Nanak is with righteousness and God with whose power one conquering the entire world. ||5||2||54||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਆ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੨॥੫੪॥

Raag Aasaa, Fourth Guru:
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
hirdai sun sun man amrit bhaa-i-aa.
One whose mind is pleased with the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name by repeatedly listening to the Guru’s word.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
gurbaanee har alakh lakhaa-i-aa. ||1||
Through the Guru’s word, he comprehends the incomprehensible God.||1||
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਨਾ ॥
gurmukh naam sunhu mayree bhainaa.
O’ my sister, follow the Guru’s teachings and listen to God’s praises.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣੋ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬੈਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ayko rav rahi-aa ghat antar mukh bolhu gur amrit bainaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God alone is pervading in our heart; therefore utter the ambrosial words of the Guru.||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਕਰੋ l॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ॥
mai man tan paraym mahaa bairaag.
My mind and body are filled with love for God and the pains of separation
ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਉਂਦਾਸੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
satgur purakh paa-i-aa vadbhaag. ||2||
By great fortune, I have met the True Guru, the embodiment of God. ||2||
ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ-ਸਰੂਪ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਭਵਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਨਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
doojai bhaa-ay bhaveh bikh maa-i-aa. bhaagheen nahee satgur paa-i-aa. ||3||
Unfortunate are those who have not found the true Guru. Being in love with duality, they keep wandering for Maya.||3||
ਬਦ-ਨਸੀਬ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਪੀਆਇਆ ॥
amrit har ras har aap pee-aa-i-aa.
The one whom God Himself blesses with the ambrosial elixir of His Name,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਪਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੫॥
gur poorai naanak har paa-i-aa. ||4||3||55||
has realized God through the perfect Guru, O’ Nanak.||4||3||55||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੫੫॥

Raag Aasaa, Fourth Guru:
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
mayrai man tan paraym naam aaDhaar.
Within my mind and body is the love for God, and His Name is my support.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮੋ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
naam japee naamo sukh saar. ||1||
I meditate on Naam which is the essence of peace. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਚੋੜ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੈਨਾ ॥
naam japahu mayray saajan sainaa.
O’ my friends and companions, meditate on Naam with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਜਣੋਂ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੈਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam binaa mai avar na koi-ee vadai bhaag gurmukh har lainaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Except God’s Name, I find no other support in life. It is only by good fortune that God is realized through the Guru ,s teachings. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ। ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
naam binaa nahee jeevi-aa jaa-ay.
Without meditating on God’s Name one cannot spiritually survive.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
vadai bhaag gurmukh har paa-ay. ||2||
It is by good fortune alone that one receives God’s Name. ||2||
ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਕਾਲਖ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
naamheen kaalakh mukh maa-i-aa.
Those who do not meditate on Naam are disgraced due to the love for Maya.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਕਾਲਖ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
naam binaa Dharig Dharig jeevaa-i-aa. ||3||
Accursed is the life lived without meditating on Naam. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
