ਕੋਊ ਨਰਕ ਕੋਊ ਸੁਰਗ ਬੰਛਾਵਤ ॥
ko-oo narak ko-oo surag banchhaavat.
as a result, some went to hell and some yearned for heaven.
ਤਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਨਰਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਗੀ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਰਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਬਣਿਆ।
ਆਲ ਜਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
aal jaal maa-i-aa janjaal.
Domestic traps and entanglements of Maya,
ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਧੰਧੇ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ,
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ਭੈ ਭਾਰ ॥
ha-umai moh bharam bhai bhaar.
loads of egotism, attachment, doubt and fear,
ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਮੋਹ, ਭੁਲੇਖੇ, ਡਰ,
ਦੂਖ ਸੂਖ ਮਾਨ ਅਪਮਾਨ ॥
dookh sookh maan apmaan.
sorrows and pleasure, honor and dishonor,
ਦੁੱਖ, ਸੁਖ, ਆਦਰ ਨਿਰਾਦਰੀ ,
ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਕੀਓ ਬਖ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਨ ॥
anik parkaar kee-o bakh-yaan.
all these came to be described in various ways.
ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਚੱਲ ਪਈਆਂ।
ਆਪਨ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ॥
aapan khayl aap kar daykhai.
He beholds His play that He created Himself.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਖੇਲੁ ਸੰਕੋਚੈ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੈ ॥੭॥
khayl sankochai ta-o naanak aikai. ||7||
O’ Nanak, when He winds up His play, then He is left alone by Himself. ||7||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜਹ ਅਬਿਗਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਤਹ ਆਪਿ ॥
jah abigat bhagat tah aap.
Wherever the invisible God’s devotee is, He Himself is there.
ਜਿਥੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ, ਓਥੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਪਸਰੈ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਰਤਾਪਿ ॥
jah pasrai paasaar sant partaap.
He unfolds the expanse of His creation for the glory of His Saints.
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਹੂ ਪਾਖ ਕਾ ਆਪਹਿ ਧਨੀ ॥
duhoo paakh kaa aapeh Dhanee.
He is the master of both sides (of His manifest and unmanifest forms).
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੈ। (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ)
ਉਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਉਨਹੂ ਬਨੀ ॥
un kee sobhaa unhoo banee.
The glory of those saints behooves them alone.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਪਹਿ ਕਉਤਕ ਕਰੈ ਅਨਦ ਚੋਜ ॥
aapeh ka-utak karai anad choj.
He Himself performs His miracles and blissful frolics.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਖੇਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪਹਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਨ ਨਿਰਜੋਗ ॥
aapeh ras bhogan nirjog.
He Himself enjoys pleasures, and yet He is not influenced by those pleasures.
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪਨ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
jis bhaavai tis aapan naa-ay laavai.
Whoever He pleases, He blesses with His Name,
ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਖੇਲ ਖਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
jis bhaavai tis khayl khilaavai.
and whoever He wishes, He keeps them entangled in worldly pleasures.
ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਖਿਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਅਥਾਹ ਅਗਨਤ ਅਤੋਲੈ ॥
baysumaar athaah agnat atolai.
O’ infinite, unfathomable and eternal God,
ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ਹੇ ਅਥਾਹ! ਹੇ, ਹੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
ਜਿਉ ਬੁਲਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਬੋਲੈ ॥੮॥੨੧॥
ji-o bulaavhu ti-o naanak daas bolai. ||8||21||
O’ Nanak, as You direct Your devotees, that is how they speak. ||8||21||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ (ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਆਖ), ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ l

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕੇ ਠਾਕੁਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤਣਹਾਰ ॥
jee-a jant kay thaakuraa aapay vartanhaar.
O’Master of all beings and creatures, You Yourself are prevailing everywhere.
ਹੇ ਜੀਆਂ ਜੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੋ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਰ ॥੧॥
naanak ayko pasri-aa doojaa kah daristaar. ||1||
O’ Nanak, God is All-pervading; besides Him, where is any other to be seen?||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ) ਦੂਜਾ ਕਿਥੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ?

ਆਪਿ ਕਥੈ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਨਨੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
aap kathai aap sunnaihaar.
God Himself is the speaker, and He Himself is the listener.
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ ॥
aapeh ayk aap bisthaar.
He Himself is the One, and He Himself is the many. (prevailing in his creation)
ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕ।
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਏ ॥
jaa tis bhaavai taa sarisat upaa-ay.
When it so pleases Him, He creates the world,
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਰਚ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪਨੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਲਏ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
aapnai bhaanai la-ay samaa-ay.
and when it so pleases, He absorbs it back into Himself.
ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਮੇਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
tum tay bhinn nahee kichh ho-ay.
O’ God, there is nothing outside of You.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
ਆਪਨ ਸੂਤਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਪਰੋਇ ॥
aapan soot sabh jagat paro-ay.
You have kept the entire world subject to Your command.
ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ-ਰੂਪ) ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
jaa ka-o parabh jee-o aap bujhaa-ay.
Whom God Himself enables someone to understand this concept,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਆਪ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
sach naam so-ee jan paa-ay.
that person alone realizes the eternal Naam
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਤਤ ਕਾ ਬੇਤਾ ॥
so samadrasee tat kaa baytaa.
Such a person looks impartially upon all, and is the knower of reality.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਭ ਵਲ ਇਕ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ)ਦੇ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਾ ਜੇਤਾ ॥੧॥
naanak sagal sarisat kaa jaytaa. ||1||
O’ Nanak, he is the conqueror of the entire world. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥ ॥
jee-a jantar sabh taa kai haath.
All beings and creatures are under His command.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ,
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥੁ ॥
deen da-i-aal anaath ko naath.
He is Merciful to the meek, and the support of the helpless.
ਉਹ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਅਨਾਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
jis raakhai tis ko-ay na maarai.
No one can destroy the one who is protected by God.
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸੋ ਮੂਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੈ ॥
so moo-aa jis manhu bisaarai.
However, consider one spiritually dead whom God forsakes.
ਮੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਤਾਂ) ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਤਜਿ ਅਵਰ ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
tis taj avar kahaa ko jaa-ay.
Forsaking Him, where else could anyone go?
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਏ?
ਸਭ ਸਿਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਰਾਇ ॥
sabh sir ayk niranjan raa-ay.
The immaculate supreme God is the protector of all.
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
jee-a kee jugat jaa kai sabh haath.
He controls all the the secrets of all creatures.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
antar baahar jaanhu saath.
Know that God is always with you within and without.
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਜਾਣਹੁ।
ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
gun niDhaan bay-ant apaar.
who is the treasure of virtues, Infinite and Endless,
ਜੋ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
nanak daas sadaa balihaar.||2||
O’ Nanak, God’s devotees are forever dedicated to Him. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਨ l
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
pooran poor rahay da-i-aal.
The Perfect, Merciful God is pervading everywhere,
ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹਨ,
ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
sabh oopar hovat kirpaal.
and His kindness extends to all.
ਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਪਨੇ ਕਰਤਬ ਜਾਨੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
apnay kartab jaanai aap.
He Himself knows His own ways.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਲ ਆਪ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਹਿਓ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥
antarjaamee rahi-o bi-aap.
The knower of our thinking, is pervading everywhere.
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ਜੀਅਨ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ॥
paratipaalai jee-an baho bhaat.
He cherishes His living beings in so many ways.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਰਚਿਓ ਸੁ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਤਿ ॥
jo jo rachi-o so tiseh Dhi-aat.
Whosoever He has created, meditates on Him.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
jis bhaavai tis la-ay milaa-ay.
Whoever pleases Him, He unites that person with Him,
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
bhagat karahi har kay gun gaa-ay.
and such persons worship Him by singing His praises.
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
man antar biswas kar maani-aa.
The one who with heartfelt faith has believed in Him,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੱਚਮੁਚ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਾਲਾ) ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਨਹਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥
karanhaar nanak ik jaani-aa. ||3||
O’ Nanak, he has realized the one Creator ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ l
ਜਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
jan laagaa har aikai naa-ay.
A devotee who is attuned only to God’s Name,
(ਜੋ) ਸੇਵਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
tis kee aas na birthee jaa-ay.
his desires do not go in vain.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਕਦੇ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
sayvak ka-o sayvaa ban aa-ee.
It behoves a devotee to meditate on God and serve His creation.
ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਫੱਬਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ।
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
hukam boojh param pad paa-ee.
By understanding God’s will he obtains the supreme spiritual state.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
is tay oopar nahee beechaar
There is no better contemplation than meditating on God’s Name for those,
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ (ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦਾ l
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
jaa kai man basi-aa nirankaar
in whose mind dwells the formless God.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰਿ ਭਏ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ॥
banDhan tor bha-ay nirvair.
Breaking the bonds of Maya, they become free from enmity,
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਰ ॥
an-din poojeh gur kay pair.
and they always respectfully follow the Guru’s advice.
ਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਪੂਜਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
ih lok sukhee-ay parlok suhaylay.
They are at peace in this world, and in the next,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖੀ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਸੌਖੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
